Best drinks and martinis by far. Even when looking for drinks in ATX, I end up here and I'm never disappointed.

The most exquisite cocktail bar I have ever been to in Central Texas. Unlike a bunch of places in Austin, this place is quality and value. There is also parking. They are obsessed with the quality of their drinks.We’re definitely going to be visiting again.

This place is an absolute GEM. Our brunch was delicious and fresh. The tunes were on point. The staff was super friendly and the overall vibe was relaxed. We will definitely be back soon!

We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The bar staff was great. Drinks were great.

Had a good steak and some tunes on a Monday evening. The steak was good, the potatoes and Brussels sprouts were excellent. Was advertised as steak and jazz from 6-10, but the band seemed to set up around 7. Overall we had a great experience!

Went there a few afternoons ago and the first thing I noticed was the atmosphere. Very modern, laid back, and accepting, which I am all about. But the reason for the lowered rating is the pricing. It's outrageously pricy and I almost left for the Golden Chick across the street. The drinks were generally terrible with 1 out of 6 being good. While I enjoyed my time there, it was 100% due to the company and nothing The Davenport had to offer.

This is THE BAR to go to in San Marcos, TX. You know that bar down the road? Yeah, don't go there. COME HERE INSTEAD! Atmosphere: 10/10! Drinks: 10/10 w/the best presentation! Music: 10/10 Especially the #GaysOfHays are there for Drag Brunch! Food: 10/10 I could eat me some Papas Bravas on the side of any plate you give me! BOMB! Staff: 10/10 Always accommodating, upselling, and as nice as my abuela! The Davenport will always be the one bar I go to for my beer and fun. Oh yeah! They are also dog friendly, so my Jennifur Tilly always gets to come with!

Ava was great, she always makes good drinks and will go out of her way to take care of you. Will definitely come back as long as she is working here!

After my last 4 visits, I'm sorry to say I see a steady decline due to lack of consistency and lack of caring. The drinks are good, but with unfriendly bartenders who ignore you, the food, or what there is of it now, is dismal, and service can be hit or miss much too often. I don't go that frequently, probably every 4 - 6 weeks, but I believe this was my last time for a while. If you are not a regular, I would suggest reading the most current reviews before planning your evenings or brunch there.

Strong drinks. Great atmosphere! The bartender was so nice and fun! They had plenty of seating outside.

My first time at Davenport. Didn't know what to expect. There was a "seasonal" menu that piqued my interest with the pop culture references. My boss warned me to only have one drink, since they were strong. They were perfect! Not too strong, not too weak, just right as you slowly sipped the "sofia" and enjoyed the quiet lounge. To not get tipsy, I ordered a charcuterie board from their happy hour menu. Wow!!! Pickled veggies, smoked meats and the freshest cheeses. I even ate the stuff I normally don't touch. Feeling id stay longer, I next ordered the "blanche". Rose petals topped a refreshing drink as I enjoyed the outside patio. Best part was when I cashed out. It was less than $30 with tip which was unexpected with the quality of product.

A great place for some very creative drinks. A huge selection of their own drinks as well as the classics. Drinks with names like Barbies Bath water or the Prenup. Everything our group ordered was excellent. Friendly helpful staff with good recommendations for an almost overwhelming large drink menu.

my friend and i went out for brunch and he was craving a good juicy, burger. so, he recommended the davenport. the inside of the place is semi-small, but there's plenty of space outside. it was about 1:40 PM (lunch time) and the place got busy. it took a bit, but the bartender got to us as fast as possible and she was super nice. i had a hard time deciding, but she helped me out. we ordered the summer breeze and the sage against the machine. the summer breeze has a refreshing grapefruit taste, and the sage against the machine has a refreshing cucumber taste. i usually don't like meat patties on burgers, but my friend was raving about how juicy and tender it is, so i decided to try it. so we both ordered the don quixote burger with a side of pappas bravas. the food took a while to come, about 30 minutes. we then ordered barbie's bath water and lavender pearl martini. barbie's bath water is sweet and the lavender pearl was very strong and lavendery. the fries were amazing, and the burger was great as well, but super messy because of the egg which is understandable. the patty was thick and meaty which i don't usually like, but it went well with the sauce, veggies, and everything else. it was a lot of food and i ended up being super tipsy and super full. overall, the drinks were all great. the food is great as well, but it will take a long time to get ready if you're going on break or starving. i will be coming back and i do recommend this place!

Davenport knows what they are doing! They have great bartenders who know how to make delicious (and very adult- aka strong) drinks! If you want a fun and lively spot that does a lot for the San Marcos community then look no further! They also make great food with smokin' happy hour deals! My favorite is their Monday nights for the $15 steak and 2 sides with $5 scotch and wine. You won't be disappointed!

I LOVE this place!! I brought my friend here when she was in town visiting because we heard there would be a drag brunch. The entire experience was AMAZING. The drinks? To die for. So creative and I loved both the espresso martini and Barbie's bath water. My friend also loved her drinks and her avocado toast she ordered. I ordered pancakes and they were so fluffy and great to eat. For notice, the drag brunches do create A LOT of service. My friend and I were more than happy to wait for our food, and it took an hour. Drinks are served much faster, though! Tables also go fast here the days they have events, I mean who wouldn't wanna be here this place is so fun! Our bartender Krista was also so sweet, and despite being slammed with customers she always made sure to come back to check on what she else my friend and I may need. I also have to commend how friendly everyone here is, and oh my gosh the PUPPIES!! So many dogs came in and it was my favorite thing to see, as a huge animal lover I adore when businesses welcome pets into the fun with their humans. I can't wait to come back for another Sunday funday brunch with my girls.

Stumbled on this little gem while searching for a delicious cocktail. We had been to the one in Houston 10 years ago and was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was the same owners! Great atmosphere and the best bartenders!

Had the Steak and Eggs with zero complaints. Potatoes were also on point and the sauce was delicious. Bloody Mary was just right. Great choice in San Marcos.

Sorry but if food is served dogs should NOT be allowed inside, it's pretty disgusting, there's a big outdoor sitting area where people with animals should be definitely not inside. Even people who work there and handle food have a big brown Doberman hanging around near kitchen area so unsanitary

After 4 visits to the Davenport I feel like this is the place I belong. I love the mix of friendly and happy customers. This is not a bar its a Lounge so the vibe is peace and love. Thursday is Salsa night with a Salsa dance class before the Latin Band revs up. There is no pressure to do the "right" steps. Everybody is there to have fun. The bartenders are all great especially Doug. They have a vast selection of drinks including wine and beer but the mixed drinks are their specialty. The food selection isn't large but all the menu items are delicious and beautifully presented. My wife and I share the single serving vegetarian paella and add 2 orders of shrimp and we are always full and happy. So if you're looking for a friend this is a good place to find one. If you're there on Salsa night say hello. I'm the crazy guy dancing dancing with my beautiful wife and I'm 79.

Love this place!!!! Service was great and staff was friendly. Steak sandwich was savory and zesty, salad was perfect. Martinis were also very tasty! Strong and a great serving. Will definitely be back!!!!!

Great atmosphere and an awesome bar selection! Pours were STRONG!!! They did advise all customer's of that fact! The food was excellent! This is their Shrimp sando. Marinated shrimp served with avocado crema, cotija cheese, arugula, zesty pineapple. Papas bravas ( cubed seasoned potatoes) is the side dish. Great combination! Would have been five stars, the initial service was immediate upon arrival. Took a while to get my order placed.

tried this spot for the first time and will hopefully never be back. i'm sure it's a great brunch spot, but if you're looking to meet friends for a night out there are a number of places in san marcos that will cost you less and will be a lot more enjoyable to stand in. the prices for drinks are outrageous considering that mine was 80% ice, 15% fruit, and 5% alcohol.. if that. they space is clearly not even equipped to be a bar that can serve a larger group of people. ordering was difficult and frustrating. the outdoor seating is nice, but as a whole the experience is really not worth it.

We had such a lovely evening at the Davenport. We had 5 martinis between the three of us and all were stellar, well-made concoctions. The Need a Pear was my fav. We had the vegetarian Paella, which was so yummy. The brava papas, fried potato cubes, perfect. And the chicken taquitos, delicious. The vibe was chill and fun. The clientele very friendly. The staff was prompt and attentive. It was a just a really nice chill night of tasty treats and eats.

Amazing wonderful so good! Come! Get yo self a drink girl so worth it. ANY COCKTAIL is DELICIOUS. Y'all better tip Sam!!!!!

This place is great! Their drinks are always on pointe and the staff are always so nice. Let's elaborate on the amazing drinks... bartender... you mean mixologists! They make their own syrups to concoct the best drinks! I'll be back on Thursday for the salsa night!

We came with a group tonight and the service was horrible. We had to wait over an hour for food and didn't even get everything we ordered. The blonde bartender was extremely rude and inconsiderate. As someone who works in the service industry I know it's not hard to be nice. I've never been here before and for sure won't be back.

Incredibly indifferent bartender meant a very unpleasant experience. Don't bother going here for service or for food.

The drinks are amazing, never been disappointed with anything I've ordered! My only minor complaint is the martini drinks are filled to the brim. If you try to pick it up right away, you will spill some all over. I have tried multiple times to very carefully scoot the drink across the bar to me and still usually spill some. Not sure if I haven't mastered the appropriate technique, but usually just lean across and sip a decent amount before I attempt moving it. I appreciate the full drink, but wish they would serve them in larger glasses.

First visit here was nothing short of amazing! My sister and I, who are both vegetarians, were thrilled to find vegetarian options that weren't half-assed for a change. We ordered the shareable portion size of the vegetable paella and devoured every grain of rice and veggie on the neat little pan it was served on. Aside from the awesome food menu, we were stoked about the drinks as well. Davenport is a true cocktail bar with drinks to please a range of tastebuds. I had the Sage Against the Machine that was both refreshing and delicious. Service was impeccable. Matthew, Ryan, and Keven were all so helpful, sweet, and attentive. We felt welcomed the second we arrived:) Will be back for the good food and vibes!

They don't have any tap beers or wine and can't make cocktails.... The "martinis" are just random sugary things. the only interesting drink was a bloody mary themed "martini". They also had some interesting-looking food, but ??? what are we supposed to drink with it? Are we really supposed to get paella and a pumpkin spice gummi shot? It's as if you took Crafthouse and told them they could ONLY serve daquris from the daquri factory next door. Honestly a very demonic concept

Cute little retro bar! Great menu of drinks! All very yummy! Had the Puerto Rican donkey punch and and the blind salamander shot! Super yummy! Great friendly service! And also quick!

Great drinks! Had the dirty cajun, and it was great. HOWEVER. It was under 50 degrees last night, and they refused to put out their heaters.. We watched them tell people they didn't have any when we could SEE THEM through the side window. (We were lucky enough to get 4 of the 12 total indoor seats Lol) Also, out of the three workers that were there, one never spoke a word. One was a new guy, kind of quiet but very nice and attentive. Then the other bartender... was rude, dismissive, aggressive... Yikes. I'll try to come back for the drinks, because they really were great, but will more than likely turn around and leave if she's the one serving them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Steak & Jazz Monday is my family's favorite. You really can't beat a huge 15 dollar steak & yummy cocktails!! the dirty cajun is seriously one of the best drinks i've ever had. Super cool place! A San Marcos gem.

I love the bloody Mary's at this place, but I did have a bad experience with one of the bartenders her name is Naomi I don't even know this chick but some of my friends do and she gave me the snobbiest attitude when I ordered a $10 dollar drink there wasn't any alcohol in it. I'm a young guy but I do know that the servers, bartenders and the people on the front line are the face of y'all's business, and one person is all it takes for some one to give this fine establishment a Shitty reputation. I own a business as well and if this was going on at my establishment I would want to know as well.

I absolutely love The Davenport. It has been a safe place for me and my friends, but sadly I have to say that it has become a bit less of a safe space due to a bartender there. Naomi has been rude to anyone who is friends with people she doesn't like, including not even making drinks correctly and talking poorly about coworkers. I'm very saddened by this, as it has made a wonderful, safe place become a place of not being sure if you will be treated kindly. Besides this one negative, the bar has been amazing, and the rest of the staff has been nothing but kind to others. Hopefully this situation can be fixed. Again, the bar itself is wonderful.

my friends and i went after graduation and the service was trash. the people who took our order was just not nice. i was told there would be a 30 minute wait for my food... it took an hour and a half... for a chicken sandwich with no sides. when i went to check on when it would be ready, the bartender said 5 minutes and i waited 15 more after that. the food and drinks were good but it was just pretty annoying.

I'm not a cocktail drinker, but the cocktail Zach made for me was the most delicious cocktail I've ever had in my life! On top of that, Zach was the pinnacle of professionalism and hospitality. I usually hate bartenders ha ha but what a pleasure to see such consummate professionalism with genuine friendliness on top of that. All of you "too cool for school" bartenders out there take note - go visit this bar, observe Zach and learn how to act. I live in Austin and don't usually hang out in San Marcos, but if I'm ever back in town I will definitely stop by this place!

I visited this place tonight with some friends from Austin and I was very impressed. The staff were each warm and inviting and very update on their knowledge. I ordered the chicken paella and two of their seasonal speciality cocktails. My friends ordered cocktails and the potato's, meatball sliders and pork tostadas. Each entree/ app was spectacular as we shared those. My cocktails were incredibly well crafted and well poured. There were cute little booths with local clothiers and a band playing Calypso. The energy and atmosphere here was awesome and I have to say I'm hard to impress (I have many years in the industry and have worked for some impressive and places myself). I will be coming back and definitely out of towners again as my party was all impressed!!

Hidden gem!! Been there twice in under 10 days now, once for Friday happy hour, and again for Easter brunch. Food is amazing and so reasonably priced. Vegan/vegetarian friendly. The paella is delicious; the vegan version blew my mind. Even the small paella is "shareable" if you're into ordering lots of smaller things. Drinks are also delicious. They have wine for the less adventurous, but I've enjoyed the cocktails and mimosas. Best part is the affordability. For Easter, my husband and I had a huge carafe of mimosas and two big plates of food for $30. Staff is attentive and welcoming too!

I did enjoy the environment we were provided for my friend's engagement party but what I didn't enjoy was the night ending with her in tears. It was very obvious that the bartenders were only in it for the money and always trying to push us to order food or cocktails aside from the champagne that was included. When asked if we wanted more bottles my friend asked for a price range and they said " Well were just serving Andres" which retails for $6 a bottle. my poor friend whose engagement party it was received a $500 tab at the end of the night leaving her in tears. will not be returning mainly for the terrible lack of communication and expectations. a very frustrating experience for all of us to see our friend so distraught.

Love the laid back groovy hipster vibe of this place! Terrific cocktails and attentive, knowledgeable staff. Have a kid at TxSt and this will be a regular stop for us whenever we visit San Marcos from here on out.

The pink haired cutie with a lot of piercings really knows her stuff. She is the best bartender and all her drinks on the spring menu kick ass!! 10/10 recommend

Amazing bar with a variety of selections that will satisfy anyone's tastes! Super friendly and attentive staff that don't skimp when making your drinks, and have a fun array of seasonal drinks. They make a killer Vegas bomb I highly recommend :)

Wow! What a burger! I had the Sancho and my husband had the Don Quixote. Both were amazing! I also love that salad is the default side. Husband had the patas bravas, thoroughly authentic. Also the drinks are strong and they have outdoor seating. We can't wait to go back.

We love this place! We've tried quite a few drinks and have loved them all. The patio is spacious and the service has always been fantastic!

Great food. Great drinks. They don't have flapjacks. I've never received bad service here. Ask for the cucumber patch or Smokey sunset. They even have some plants for sale from a local vendor.

Such a great little spot with a little something for everyone. The whole crew is super friendly and pours better than anyone else around lol. I love that they have special drinks seasonally. I saw they were having a Friday Funktion event decided to check the place out. I was impressed and was surprised I had never been recommended to try it out before. There was a variety of cocktails, martinis, and seasonal drinks. I had a Mermaid's Tale martini, which was more expensive than what I typically pay for a drink. But balanced out by presentation and how strong the drink was. I will definitely be back

Plenty of space to social distance or whatever, drinks were nice and strong and the stake sandwich was a 10/10 .

Super rude staff, came in with my friends and they checked our REAL IDs 4 times, we felt very unwelcomed and uncomfortable. I get it they need to be careful but they were over the top and disrespectful. Once we got in they wouldn't even clean a table for us and when we asked where to order they rolled their eyes. Also heard they're making their alcohol with ethanol & causing people to seize and end up in the hospital.. have fun :)
