The 38 Best Kuala Lumpur Restaurants | Eater

"Thrill-seekers and cocktail drinkers will find plenty to love at the Deceased, a themed bar where every night is like Halloween. The eerie decor is based on Chinese mythology of the afterlife, with plenty of skulls (sometimes filled with nachos) and drinks in spooky glassware. Beneath the hokey decorations are serious cocktails with ingredients like chrysanthemum kombucha and Yakult. [$$$$]" - Ian Poh Jin Tze

This bar is such a fun and spooky place to check out! The horror theme is done really well as the decorations look so real and the whole vibe feels like a haunted house 👻 It’s a great spot to grab drinks with friends and test your courage at the same time😂 If you’re around Petaling Street and want something different, you should totally give this bar a try!

Interesting place☺️ Creepy, moody… and super fun! 🕷️ This spot feels like stepping into a dark fantasy, in the coolest way possible. Cocktails are bold, playful, and taste just as good as they look (all thrill, no gimmicks ✨). Perfect place for Halloween, or anytime you want your night out to feel a little wicked. 🦇

An absolute hidden gem! The bar’s theme is a brilliant fusion of Chinese-style horror (中式恐怖) and Western-style thriller (西式惊悚) — chilling yet captivating, every detail makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cinematic story. The drinks are exceptional: creative, well-balanced, and perfectly matched with the mysterious atmosphere. Service is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, adding warmth to the eerie setting. The environment strikes a perfect balance — immersive and suspenseful, yet stylish and comfortable for a night out. Truly one of the most unique bar experiences I’ve ever had — I can’t wait to return!

Took my friend out for her birthday—because what’s a birthday without a little afterlife ambiance 😜 Loved every bit of it, the vibes, the photos, and especially LUCAS for the amazing service ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was super excited when this cocktail bar reopened. But alas, it is apparently not the same as previously and lacked the previous theatricals and spookiness. Regardless, it was nice to visit. They only had 6 cocktails. We tried 3 drinks; patty person batting which was fruity and came served with wooden clog for you to hit a piece of paper with people you have a grudge against. The next was tea of oblivion which was sweet and had a lychee taste. The last was toyol which was served in a milk bottle. We liked this the least as the drink was not very nice. Lovely atmosphere but drinks were not as nice despite being gimicky.

Yelp
came here with a friend. The pincode is 4444 (Means dead in cantonese) The decoration is pretty nice for a deceased bar, with all the Chinese 'fu' (Chinese paper amulet), drawings and the dolls. The rooftop side is pretty nice when the skies are clear after rain. The bar area is a nice place for instagrammable photos (if you are into it). Drinks wise : Love the quirky-ness of the naming. There are some drinks which was directly translated from Cantonese/Mandarin. Love love the ideas. I had a Pontianak drink which came with a mask and the straw was...through its nostril. Nevertheless, I will not spoil the fun for the readers. Do pop by for the drinks and fun! Price wise : 4/5 still affordable Location wise : you may have to grab there or park at the open car park nearby there (Walk to the cafe nearby) Quirkyness : 4/5 *should give us some props to wear for fun*

Yelp
This is a wonderful little upstairs bar with creative drinks and a nice, relaxed atmosphere (with at least a bit of a fun, creepy theme). That said, I was underwhelmed by the decor and theme, which I really expected to be over the top, or at least in-your-face, based on what I'd imagined from assorted reviews. The fun and artistic focus on the macabre was instead somewhat limited and mostly in the front part of the bar and on the menu. Along with the small indoor bar, there's an excellent large outdoor deck with retractable awnings for rain, and a much smaller roofdeck above that. The main deck is surrounded by warm, weathered, old building walls and rooflines, as well as the canopies of trees; it's perfect for a comfortable evening of drinks. A skylight in the deck looks down into a laundry/supply room for possible restaurant that's downstairs. (There's also a fun, though oddly placed, poster on part of the outdoor wall). The upper roofdeck on the very top is basically just two long-ish tables, and a somewhat disappointing view since you're more above the treeline than in it, so your focus is on the rooflines and rooftop equipment cases that are unimpressive from this vantage point. Seating in both outdoor areas is on an assortment of different sized bar stools at tables of differing sizes that can be moved around depending on group size. The staff is friendly and helpful; we didn't suffer any of the slow service that has occasionally been mentioned. Most of the cocktails on the extensive menu were too fruity for my taste, but I still appreciated the creativity in the combinations, the names, and the presentation. One drink I thoroughly enjoyed was the Santau, though; I would definitely order that again! The cocktail prices are about average for speakeasies -- RM30-50 (with most around RM40, if I remember correctly). Limited food is available. In general, this is a great place to hang out with friends for a while on a comfortable evening.
