Deck Hotel | Best places to stay in Cote d'Azur

"Located just off Nice’s Promenade des Anglais, this fun-loving, millennial-crowd hotel lives up to its name, with a nautical decor that gives a nod to the area’s sailing heritage. With a casual-chic feel and bargain room rates (by Cote d’Azur standards), The Deck is filled with luminous Mediterranean shades of cerulean, white and navy, and fun design touches like swinging basket chairs and vintage South of France posters. All the smart, modern bedrooms (or cabines as they’re known) have workstations, but when it’s time to relax, there’s a games room – with a matching blue and white pool table – and a wooden-deck bar on the top floor, serving affordable, fruity cocktails. I had a pleasure to stay at the Deck in September. From the minute I entered I found it very inviting and charming.I was greeted by a nice young man.He explained to me everything and I was given the key right away.My room was cozy and clean.Complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate, coffee and tea. The hotel has a location second to none. Two minutes to the Promenade, very close to Old Nice and Nice-ville.Its very important to have everything close by because you will be tired after hot Mediterranean sun. Also the breakfast was delicious and variable.Plus you can have coffee and tea during the day for free. The hotel has a nice patio to relax and have a drink . I would recommend the Deck to anyone and I am hoping to stay there again. Thank you to every staff member for working so hard.

We enjoyed our stay at The Deck hotel. It was in a prime location - just a 4 minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes to the train station. Many restaurants and shopping near by too. The service staff were all excellent, especially Arthur, who made us feel relaxed and well taken care of. He gave us great tips for sites and restaurants. The staff also welcomed us with a lovely bottle of champagne. Thank you! The hotel provided a bountiful breakfast for a good price. They also provided beach items like pool noodles, umbrellas and clean beach towels. Very appreciative for these given the high prices of beach club chairs. Our only complaint would be the cleaning. The showers are worn despite being new due to lime scale covered shower heads and mould in the shower. Also during our 1 week stay, the bathroom was never freshened up or the floors in the suite vacuumed despite the cleaning staff coming through the room to make the bed and change towels. This area could be improved to elevate the experience.

Certainly one of the best hotels we’ve ever been at! The hotel is very well located, the rooms are nice but the Staff makes all the difference. They were happy to respond to our every need, offered us a breakfast in bed for me and my girlfriends anniversary (without us asking for it) and were lovely enough to gift us 2 beach towels, which have served as great souvenir from Nice. Would definitely come back and recommend!!

Don't do it. First, the staff does a really good job with a really bad hotel. I was pleased by the staff and how kind and gracious they were but it couldn't make up for this hotel. It's listed as a 4 star. There is no known universe in which this hotel is a 4 star, it's a mangy somewhat smelly 2 star. Down a side street, blocks from the beach, there's an odd little hallway leading to an elevator off a side street to access the hotel; no lobby, no seating area, nothing that would be expected in a normal 4 star hotel. We knew we were in trouble when I asked for extra pillows and they were completely taken aback and flustered by the request. We were given a room and not offered the Expedia upgrades. When we went to the room, the ac wasn't working and there was black mold around the air vents. The room was a tiny little wedge shaped room with very little space to maneuver, dark and depressing. There is no balcony unless you're upgraded to one of the three or four rooms that have one. But why get a balcony to look over a convenience store and a dirty street where sketchy men hang out and drink after dark? We asked for another room as I have allergies to mold and God knows what else was fermenting in that room. The hallways smelled dank and wet and the paint was chipping. Our "new" room had a full trash can and the toilet was dirty; obviously not properly cleaned before new inmates were sentenced to the room. In the middle of the night we discovered that the toilet seat was barely attached and almost fell off. The bed was super hard and there were bedsprings digging into us all night. Nothing to watch but news on the TV which is not relaxing on vacation. We couldn't come back to our hotel and relax because our room was so small and there was a goofy lobby area on the second floor where you can look at the walls of the other buildings. Not at all relaxing and after the other wonderful places we stayed in Paris, Lyon and throughout France, this was abysmal and such a complete disappointment. All I wanted to do was get out of this hole and stay in a real 4 star and I was so upset because it's presented as a 4 star and it absolutely is not. There's breakfast but you'll be competing with the fruit flies for the croissants which come out in swarms when you reach for yesterday's croissant that has been recycled. There are no redeeming features to this hotel unless you are looking for the 2 star experience which it definitely delivers on. Don't do it.

I was a solo female traveler and am always careful about where I stay. This hotel was an excellent choice! The staff were lovely, always eager to help. Arthur was wonderful-professional and kind. He looked for restaurants for me and provided great advice! Oh, and the breakfast was excellent. A plus is the access to water and coffee all day!

Our stay at The Deck Hotel was absolutely wonderful! The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The hotel’s interior design and décor are stylish yet welcoming, creating a warm and modern atmosphere. A special thanks goes to the gentleman at the reception working the night shifts—he was exceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. His professionalism and friendliness truly made our stay even more enjoyable. The location could not be better—right in the heart of Nice, with everything just a short walk away. Between the impeccable cleanliness, the high-quality staff, the beautiful interior, and the perfect location, The Deck Hotel made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be returning!

We were very happy with our choice of the Deck hotel for a stay in Nice. All of the staff is very welcoming, and Arthur at the front desk especially helped us with his recommendations! The hotel is an easy walk to the Promenade, Old Town Nice, and many restaurants, and while our room was a little small it was very clean and functional. We did not add the breakfast, preferring lighter fare on our own, but it looked very good. When we made our reservation we were a little concerned about the size of the bed listed as full, but it was actually the size of a queen. All in all a good value with a great location.

Amazing staff — very helpful and incredibly friendly. The breakfast was good, and the rooms were spotless. A special thanks to Mrs. Saloua, who went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible experience. She even made sure my belongings were safe when I forgot to check out because I was so busy. Truly exceptional service! - Nassim
