Famous Restaurants in Philly That Are Actually Good | Eater Philly

"The Moshulu lands on this list not for its fine dining restaurant, which has long drawn out-of-towners to dine on the world’s oldest and largest four-masted tall ship, but for its fresh and fun outdoor space. The Deck — open May to September — is known for its frozen wine pops, DJ nights, fireplaces with S’mores kits, elaborate ice cream concoctions, and fitness events." - Sarah Maiellano

Awesome experience eating on the Moshulu. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere can't be beat!

We had the worst experience at this location yesterday. Poor communication from their staff members and their manager. We were in town visiting due to a soccer tournament, we went to this location hoping to sit and order drinks and food for 2 families. Due to a change of menu from Midday to dinner we decided to wait for their dinner menu due to more option in food. Waited 45 minutes in the lobby area by the bar, we order drinks and french fries to feed our hungry young kids we had with us. People start showing up at 4pm and they were seated first because they had reservation and we didn't. For the 45 minutes we waited at their lobby area by the bar, we were not informed a reservation had to be made. We thought we would be first in line to tend to since we were physically there for 45 minutes. Unfortunately that was not the case. We requested 15 minutes prior to 4pm that if they could sit our party and we'll be happy to order from both menus, unfortunately our request was declined, so we waited another 15 minutes to have other people that made reservation be seated before our party of 9. I'm not sure if were were under dress to be there, or is it because we had kids. We came from a soccer tournament, so t-shirts and shorts were worn....Either or it was poor communication from their staff members and terrible customer service. Please do better.

After a long day with family and freinds we all decided our party of nine 4 adults and 5 children ages 7 to 13 would have a good time here with assorted options on the menu a casual dining experience with a view. We arrived just after 3pm to be given the options to sit at High tops with a basic mid day menu of fries and burgers. Due to the wait until 4pm for the dinner menu. Only other option was to sit out kids around the bar area and wait 45 minutes. Once the confusion glfrom the staff settled we decided to wait at the lobby bar area to have drinks and appetizers for the kids and drinks for adults. We patiently waited. Prior to 4pm groups started to arrive and be seated when we were told that wasn't a option until 4pm to be seated. No mention of reservations so we assume 1st come 1st serve on a slow Sunday afternoon. Not the case. As people continue to arrive and be seated in groups of 2 4 6. We followed up to be told we didn't have reservations and we would have to wait yet again another 45 minutes. Manager chef and hostess all seemed un concerned and almost jokingly laughed that we had to still wait. We were dressed appropriately. Not dirty bums or inappropriate. We were discriminated again due to having children or not being hip enough for there crowd. Assuming of course. The bar tender that left early had opened a tab and at rotation of bar staff I was told they don't do tabs. Confused I asked for clarification. What do you mean no tab. The prior bartender had opened one even charging a dollar on my card. I only wanted to close that to tip the previous bartender as he was polite and courteous. The 4pm bartender got upset and with a attitude said im not trying to be rude but we don't do tabs. I proceeded to order 1 last drink and paid that bill to attempt to ask hostess if we had been condlsiderd for seating yet as over 45min past. We were told no table was available or ready. My wide and other parents at that point were in dis belief as we eat out every weekend and never ever experienced the treatment that we received from this group of unprofessional inexperienced staff. With no concern about the customer. The manager only wanted to argue and state we should have asked sooner to be seated and they could have accommodated us. What a terrible experience. Our contribution to this restaurant would have well been over $ 500 dollars. Your loss and staff should be looked at closer.

Definitely a good atmosphere and nice views. The bartenders on the top deck were awesome and gave great service. I had a great time here as I watched the sunset and enjoyed my food. I will come back again to try more on the menu.

Google
Nice spot for a drink by the water on a hot day. It’s on the moshulu sail boat which has very nice velvety, classic interior. Prices are on the higher side and i really dislike the plastic cups. Non sustainable and just feels so flimsy.. service was friendly and fast. They do have snacks. Boat does not rock or make you sea sick. This place has potential.

First time eating here.. Made Reservations for my husbands b'day dinner. I #Loved everything about our experience from the time we got there until we left. Reservations were for 7pm, we arrived around 7:05pm. Was greeted and seated immediately. (Wanted to sit on top of the boat, but it started to rain) Waiter came, had drink by 7:15pm, ordered our appetizer, salads & entrees once we got our drinks (ordered about 3 rounds all together).. Had appetizer by 7:25pm w/ our salads we ordered. But 7:40pm our entrees came out!!!! OMG, ALL THEIR FOOD WAS AMAZING (Hubby got Filet Mignon medium, and it was sooooo TENDER) !!!!! I MEAN AMAZING.. Excellent, excellent customer service. We were very pleased & satisfied. Pricy, but WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!

Yelp
I came here on a first date, and everything about it was absolutely enchanting. Firstly, the ambiance on the boat is classy and upscale. The view of the water was amazing, and just being inside of a boat was exciting in itself. Our server was helpful and answered all of my questions about the menu. Now, let's get into the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. I started off with a crabcake, which was extremely thick and decadent. The ratio of crispy to smooth was perfect, and it sat atop fingerling potatoes and a lobster cream that was delectable. For my entree, I got the lobster, which was cooked to perfection. I truly have no complaints here. I paired the lobster with a red wine that perfectly complemented my meal. My date had a steak and a side of macaroni for his entree. The vibe, food, and service were all A1, and I would love to return! If you're planning a first date, this is how you do it!

Yelp
My experience at Moshulu on the 4th of July was lacking the spark (pun intended). I might give them another try and dine inside the boat on another occasion, but the jury is still out. I had a reservation for 8:45pm, and I was not seated until 30 minutes later. By the time I was seated, I was not in the mood for a lot of food, so I got a caesar salad, which was just basic and quite expensive by the time I added a protein option. I was expecting fancy boat vibes but was served wine in plastic cups and just overall underwhelmed with the experience out on the deck. Not to mention, it was sooo hot-- I had come from another outdoor restaurant prior and it did not feel like that at all. To top it off, I was fully expecting to see the 4th of July fireworks from the boat, but the city of Philadelphia did not do fireworks at the water this year. What a shame.

Yelp
Great place for lunch / brunch especially in the warm weather months due to being able to sit outside on the deck. Server was friendly, informative and polite. Drinks were delicious! The turkey BLT was lacking in bacon. Only one slice but the turkey did have a great flavor. The fries were cold. The sticky rice and spicy tuna was amazing.

Yelp
Is it Covid that downgraded the quality of their food and services? Or was lunch vs dinner makes such a difference. First time I was here was pre-Covid during my 1st pregnancy. I was here for lunch and enjoyed the food and the service. Last month I came back with a group of friends for their birthdays dinner and everyone agreed that their food and service just went downhill. For the price we paid, I believe it should have been much better. First, our whole table only has 1 correct menu. They did some editing on the menu, particularly on the drinks section, and a number of us tried to order drinks from the old menu! Food was not so great. We were complaining our food was a bit too salty and weren't even able to finish our entree. The appetizer was probably the only dish we felt not bad. The server we had was quite busy. I know it's dinner time and she is running multiple tables, but it literally took us 20mins of wait time before we can even place our orders. Not to mention we made reservation and didn't get to be seated until 15mins later, when they said it would only take 5mins. During the meal, it was hard to reach for our server and when we ask for something, it was another 10mins wait before the server comes back. Bottom line, maybe it's either a hit or miss experience here. Our party of 11 all concluded with a negative feedback for this dinner.

Yelp
Came for coffee and dessert after a wonderful day in the city. We were seated by the window and had a wonderful server named Patti. ((I cannot sing her praises enough for the care & the stellar hospitality that she gave us. We ordered a hot apple cake dessert with a scoop of ice cream and two coffees. how happy we felt! Absolutely, fresh and delicious, and the warmth of the desert really felt so soothing after chilly day at the Christmas markets in Philadelphia. It's an absolutely wonderful place to come with friends ... and even a special date. Everytime I board this ship I have the time of my life. If I had my ukelele... I would play a lil' song about the delightful Patty and her care, the dreamy venue on the river with lovely food.

Yelp
As far as crowds go, we definitely came in on a bad night. There was both a huge wedding and also a graduation party. The parking lot was full and there is no viable parking nearby. Luckily I was patient and was nice to the attendant and he found a spot for me. The good news about the two parties is that the only seating was on the deck by the bar (they did call us to advise with our reservations) and the weather was magnificent. An absolutely perfect evening to sit al fresco. The bad news about the bar is that we were served by the folks manning the bar and not the traditional waiters. No fancy menu and no glass. All of the drinks were served in plastic glasses. To be fair, they did have a plastic martini glass and it was made well. I think because it was so busy, the kitchen didn't put out the best. We started with their version of a seafood tower. The oysters were ok, but the California roll seemed a bit off and the tuna tartare was what you would find in a low budget sushi roll. The shrimp were not so bad. I decided for the Lux Lobster Frites. This was ok but really didn't need all of the vegetables mixed in as this distracted from the star of the show. I would come back for the great ambiance, but would definitely Uber as parking is $20.00 and might not be available.

Yelp
This was recommended to us by the Big Bus tours! We made a reservation then went straight from our tour and walked to the boat. We were seated immediately. Amazing views from our table. Right next to a window with views of the river. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Yelp
Moshulu along the water is a truly great dining experience that seamlessly combines breathtaking views with exceptional cuisine. The panoramic vistas create an unforgettable ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a special occasion. While it may be a bit on the pricey side, the stellar wait staff and the consistently high-quality food make every penny worthwhile

Yelp
Completely impressed with this place. Beautiful ship! So enchanting from the outside coming at night the ship was glowing. The service was phenomenal. Went on a Thursday Night. Place was not busy. We decided to sit at the gorgeous bar first for drinks. Cocktails on the list were not too impressive but the classics off the menu were great. We were seating in a nice booth by the window overlooking the bay. I cannot emphasize how nice the decor is. We have the shrimp cocktail. For entrees the seared tuna and the ny strip both amazing. Huge portions. I can't wait to return the next time I'm in Philly.

Yelp
Still excellent! Had dinner and brunch there recently and it's still one of the BEST dining experiences in all of Philly...incredible views and dining on a historic ship.

Yelp
The atmosphere and scenery itself is what makes this location a hit right off the bat. The vibes and views are amazing especially if you're out on a date... the service is not bad the young lady that served us was very polite although she seemed a bit drained and over worked. The food wasn't terrible but could definitely use an upgrade.. the crab bisque was not good at all flavor was bad and for the price, def a no no.. the crab cake is a bit overpriced the decor looks nice, the flavor itself is not the best needs work

Yelp
This is a fun spot as the restaurant is located on a boat so the views are fantastic. I had the Tiki Twist and Don't Burst My Bubble (has strawberry popping boba!) which were both good. Tiki Twist is great for those who like sweeter drinks. Truffle fries were good as well. This is also a nice wedding/event venue.

Yelp
We visited on New Year's Eve and had the Price fixe menu. The boat is a beautiful setting for a wonderful meal. For starters I had the shrimp cocktail and my girlfriend had the scallops. This was an excellent first course. The shrimp cocktail was good as well as the scallops. A great way to start our meal. For our second course I had the short rib and my girlfriend had the lamb chops. The short rib was perfectly cooked, so tender and flavorful. It was served with veggies which were very good. The lamb chops were cooked at a perfect medium rare. The last course was a raspberry cheesecake along with a chocolate mousse. By this part of the meal we were so full but we found some space for dessert. While we dined we were able to go to the top deck in order to see the fire works which were quite the treat. We had an excellent server who took care of all our needs, Patty did an excellent job of provided suggestions and also making sure we were able to see the New Year's Eve fireworks even though our meal was half way through the serving. Great job Patty.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years! We were able to get a last minute reservation for weekend brunch. Arrived early so sat at the top level outside bar for a drink while waiting for our table. The bartender was so friendly and even offered her favorites off the brunch menu. There was a really nice breeze up there. We didn't realize you can order the the full menu at the bar but we decided to wait for our reservation anyway. I had the lobster omelette which came with mixed greens and roasted potatoes. The omelette was good. It had two lobster claws, bacon, asparagus and cheese. I'm just not a huge fan of claw meat. Now the Seafood Louie salad would've probably been a better choice. I tried several bites! It has lump crab meat, shrimp and lobster. Huge chunks of blue cheese. Decent drink menu. The service was ok. Not as attentive as I would expect.

Yelp
Great ambience, great outdoor eating, great food & fun staff! Ask for Emi! She is awesome!

Yelp
Returned to Moshulu for a double date dinner before ice skating and had such a great experience! We started with the steak tartare and the potatoes it comes in we're perfectly crispy! The Mediterranean salad is worth it as well. Our table tried a variety of items but the favorite was the needless short rib- cooked perfectly and served with a delicious au jus. We enjoyed the seasonal cocktails including the banana old fashion!! A perfect taste of banana at the end. It was pretty loud due to a bunch of family parties with kids, but the manager stopped by to make sure everything was great. Our server John kept the drinks coming and his recommendations were great.

Yelp
So my bartender was so under standing and cute ..i enjoyed myself..for privacy she ask not to post her name ...but i have to tell you she made my day or night .very greatful come they dont discriminate
google avatar

Yelp
Great experience! Service was attentive and interactive, decor was warm and inviting, noise level was right level to be lively without preventing conversation. Food was delicious and ample quantities. Our server Patty was fantastic and made it an even better experience. I've been in Philadelphia for decades and never come here - I always assumed it would be a tourist trap and mediocre food. But not the case at all! I'm glad I finally tried it, and only sorry I waited so long!
google avatar

Teresa D.

Yelp
The ship is really cool to dine on. The service was slow, very slow. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was very lovely though and apologetic for the crazy delay from the kitchen. The vegan options were slim but at least we ate. We would go back for the views and the cocktails. Add more vegan options and we'd try them for sure!

Yelp
ATTENTION!! DO not dine at this place!!! I really don't think this place worth any of money nor time. I had my birthday/Halloween party of 9 ppl booked. They put us on a tiny round table that only fits for 6. After talking to the manager and waiters, they refused to move us any closer to the large long table in the dinning area. They said because we were late BUT ppl had arrived on time. They refused to seat us until all of us arrived. DID not make any sense! How can everyone arrived if someone has ever host a more than 3ppl party. It was not my first time dining here. The first time I ordered the seafood plateau, some sushi, crab cake and something else. The food felt like made by different chefs. Or chef only made the main course. Because everything else besides main course wasted money! And their main course was not even good enough to cancel that bad experience for the rest.

Yelp
Service is good food is decent. Atmosphere is good with jazz. I would recommend this place

Yelp
A boat restaurant docked at Delaware River! This is one of the highlights of our Philly trip! It is such a fun experience dining with the view of Delaware bridge and river. We came for brunch and i ordered Southern Style sandwich which tasted good. Service was a bit slow but it was because we came at peak hours and we didn't really care if we had to wait because it gave us time to enjoy the view. This is a must do when visiting Philly!

Andy M.

Yelp
Good food and service! We went on Mother's Day to celebrate. They were a bit busy but sat us on time. Our server made sure our glasses were always filled, that our food was out on time and that it was cooked correctly,
google avatar

Cornelia B.

Yelp
This was our first time to the Moshulu. We celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday and what better time to visit than restaurant week. Bri, our server, was AMAAZING! She was pleasant and engaging and answered all our questions which made it easier to order. We enjoyed our meal from start to finish. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Connie R.

Yelp
Great food & a great atmosphere for dining!! Would definitely go back if even for the photos on the deck of the boat!
google avatar

Cameron B.

Yelp
Sigh, where to begin with Moshulu. Has to be one of the coolest aesthetics in Philly in terms of the restaurant itself. Eating dinner on a ship anchored on the Delaware River definitely has a wow factor but unfortunately the food doesn't match the scenery and on top of that it's expensive. When I went I got the Octopus as a starter and the Pork Belly and Shrimp as my main entree. I would give both a 6/10. I would go back for drinks purely because of the way the restaurant looks but the food to me was unfortunately forgettable.
google avatar

Christel G.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my son's 21st bday on February 28, 2024. The staff were amazing, food was great and they even gave us complimentary champagne & desserts to top it all off. Overall, we had a top-notch experience at this restaurant. We can't wait to go back in the summer.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Came here during restaurant week. The meal was $40 for a three course menu. I chose a spicy tuna on cripsy rice appetizer, slow cooked beef. I wasn't a big fan of the dessert, but the appetizer and entree were tasty. The slow cooked beef fell apart to any sort of touch and the collard greens/gritz paired very nicely. It was a lot more meat than I had expected. I'd definitely come here during restaurant week, but the prices seemed pretty expensive during a typical day.

Susan A.

Yelp
Upon arriving early, the hostess offered me some tea to stay warm. The table was lovely, the service was incredible. The food was very good (brunch) . Our server, Michael, deserves all the praise. I eat out a lot and I can't remember the last time I was so taken care of. He was an absolute delight, he took care of us beautifully. Please give that man a great big raise. If/when I return, Michael will be the main reason (although all the staff were terrific).
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Night & Day, this place is like super man, during the day it is a restaurant with a good view, when night hits it magically turns into a dance floor. As for the food, I love their presentation and taste, I did have some issues during one of my visit but the server took care of them quickly. And if you are looking for a fun night, they do host theme dance parties/ private parties! I was once invited to a party from a modeling agency as well.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Second time at Moshulu and it's always a good time when we come here! I will say my second trip here was a better experience than the first and it seems like the restaurant made some good improvements to the menu and experience! Our table got a variety of items, the lobster bisque seemed to be a huge hit! Our party liked all of our entrees and appetizers, the only item that fell a little flat was the bread. It came with a whipped goat cheese which I think is mostly just a matter of preference, but still it was not a crowd pleaser. The seasonal cocktails were all amazing, and the service was fast with multiple check ins throughout the night. The restaurant was a bit noisy due to several large parties with children, but this was right around the holiday season so this could have been a one off experience. Additionally several of the bathrooms were closed resulting in a long wait for the restroom, but again this could be due to a one off issue.
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
You're paying more for the views from that boat rather than for the food. Don't expect your dining experience - service and food to be anything special and definitely nothing close to amazing. I thought the food was not worth any of the time or money.
google avatar

Gerald B.

Yelp
Felt like I was on a cruise My family and I had brunch here. We were seated outside on the deck. There was a musician playing music on a steel drum. That day there was a nice breeze blowing and the ambiance made us feel like we were on a cruise. Our meal was excellent. We enjoyed the lobster bisque, caesar salad, lobster omelette, stuffed french toast (decadent choice!), and shellfish sandwich. The drinks were good too - Tiki Twist, Viva La Memo and Wildflower Fields. The managers came over to check on us several times. We were able to go to a different section of the deck and take pictures. It's a cool place to dine especially if you like being by the water.

Yelp
We went to Moshulu for my nephew's 18th birthday dinner. There were 11 of us seated together for dinner. There were some pros and cons just like any other place. Pro- Food was a hit or miss. The Miso glazed Sea bass was nicely flavored and paired very well with the kimchi fried rice. Truffle Fries was nice and fresh and super tasty. One of the best item that we had were the tuna on crispy rice and we also had it on our seafood chateau. The chips for the tuna was also seasoned and delicious. The swordfish was flavorful and delicious. The steaks came out warm close to being cold. Our waitress was super friendly. Some Shirley temples came out like club soda and she automatically fixed it. Cons- Our table was wobbly and we informed the waitress and she said she'd get something to put under the table but that never happen. We were sick of having a wobbly table so we stash a napkin under it. No big deal. Mac and cheese was terrible it was also flavorless and dry. The grilled chicken breast was okay , a bit dry but as expect it's chicken breast. They never brought out the lobster bisque even though we asked the server a couple of times. Service was slow overall.
google avatar

Yingxin Y.

Yelp
They have seasonal menu, which update every 3 months. I came here for Chili Sea Bass but they don't have it right now, so I ordered Salmon instead. However, it did surprised me! It came up with mashed squash and maple honey, which has rich texture. Baby Back ribs is my second choice dish. The staff said this is a new dish, it taste good too but little salty. 10 oz Double Cheeseburger the only one taste normal. The fries is not crispy, but when I got home, I heat it up with air dryer, it becomes very crispy. The most important is, the vibes is super romantic here! I love it! Definitely recommend to everyone

Jake B.

Yelp
Went for brunch Great food and service. Really charming atmosphere on the boat. Drinks and food are pricey but were very tasty The fried doughnuts were good, so were the mimosa kits The seafood salad was one of the best and freshest salads I've ever had. Oysters were very fresh also Very fun stop

Shalisa B.

Yelp
Got reservations through open table app and asked for deck seating. There was deck seating but it was in the sun so they let us sit on the lower level, but I kind of wish we had taken the deck. Our waitress was nice and she was quick. They did a good job with social distancing and Covid precautions except they didn't have straws (which I asked for) or plastic utensils (which I forgot to ask for). The food was good but the portions were on the small side. They had a decent drink menu and the location is great.
google avatar

Dani D.

Yelp
The service at Moshulu was truly top-notch. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was flawless. They were well-versed in the menu and provided insightful recommendations, accommodating any dietary preferences or questions. Now, let's talk about the star of the show-the steak. The moment my plate arrived, I was taken aback by the perfectly seared and beautifully presented filet mignon. It was cooked to perfection, boasting a juicy and tender texture that melted in my mouth with every bite. The flavors were outstanding, showcasing the chef's expertise in seasoning and preparing the meat. The accompanying sides were equally delightful, providing a harmonious balance to the dish. If you're a fan of filet mignon, Moshulu is a must-visit destination that will leave you craving for more.

Yelp
We enjoyed a dinner for two during the holidays! It was surprisingly lovely! We totally enjoyed the food, staff & ambiance at that time.
google avatar

Joan D.

Yelp
the service was great. My food was quite good but one of my companions felt her shrimp dish was a bit past its expiration date.

Raymond L.

Yelp
Not the best service with customers I've observed. Not a good look. The bartender's interaction was a little passive aggressive which doesn't reflect the standards of what I believe the Moshulu represents. It's speaks volumes that puts a not so great experience for me
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Visited for brunch with a group of friends. We sat inside as the deck was closed for the season. I was pleasantly surprised at how big the restaurant was. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and it was very flavorful. The sweetness of the crab balanced the savoryness of the poached egg and holindaise sauce. The potatoes were well seasoned, but the side of greens it also came with isn't anything special. I've never had a white sangria before so I had to try it. It's a little sweeter than red sangria, but still enjoyed it with with its citrus tones. Everyone at my table seemed to enjoy it their meal. After our meal, we were able to explore the ship freely. It was a nice morning and went up to the main deck to take advantage of the sun and take a few photos. The only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 is that our waitress was a little forgetful. She couldn't remember who ordered what. Also, when the waitress first brought out my dish, it was missing the crab cake. I had to wait another 10 minutes or so before it came out. She did make it up by comping me with a glass of champagne which I gave to a friend. Overall, the food was good and I would come back again.
google avatar

Ragini G.

Yelp
Came here on a cold Friday night. The ambience is interesting and something unique. We really enjoy fine seafood dining and this was very yummy and the value was high. I'd skip the ricotta spread with bread. The tuna entree and crab cake entree were very good. Our cocktails were on the sweeter side so if you are particular, check with your waiter.
google avatar

Komal R.

Yelp
I love Moshulu for their ambience and atmosphere. The crowd is always so hip and fun! It is especially nice in the summer when you can sit outside on the deck. Food wise I have never been blown away - in fact, I find their food quality sub par. The schezuan dumplings came out cold and thick and sushi was okay. The mango maki roll was pretty good but the highlight of our meal was the Crème Brûlée. It was really delicious and paired well with the fresh berries on top. I would definitely come back but will stick to drinks and dessert.

Yelp
From the moment that we stepped foot on the boat until we left there was nothing but exceptional service. We started with Korean fried chicken which was so delicious. We had a very delicious cocktail, I think it was tropical storm, but it was served in a giant shaker for $52, but we got 8 servings. I ordered a seafood pot pie which was on the suggested menu and when I tell you it was the most succulent dish I've had in a long time. If I'm ever in Philly again I'll be going back

Yelp
For upscale outdoor dining in Philly, this is the place to be. Go during the summertime and make sure to get a table on the deck, bonus points if it's during sunset. The interior of the boat is with checking out too, but the outside is what shines! You can't really go wrong on the menu, but counterintuitive item to try other than seafood are the meatballs and the mac and cheese, which are excellent. Happy hour at the bar is fun too, discounted drinks before a meal are great!

Yelp
Beautiful scenery, excellent service and food... it's in a boat! For goodness sake! The ship is historic... and huge! I've toured old tall ships several times in my life and they all give you an awareness of how intense it must have been (and crowded) to ride ships like this across oceans, but The Moshulu does not really feel like a ship when you're inside, it feels more like a large, elegant building.

Yelp
Visited the Moshulu for restaurant week. The service was good. The vibes were business casual/dressy. The drinks were great! The food was fulfilling and good but I didn't have anything from my selection to rave about but I can't say anything negative about it either. I will visit again and order from the regular menu.

Yelp
If you are looking for a higher-end experience in Philly, look no further than the waterfront. Moshulu is a special place that is fit for any occasion from a casual night out to a celebratory dinner. The Lobster Bisque and Salt & Pepper Calamari are among my favorite appetizers here and seafood isn't even my favorite food genre. The service has always been great, delicious cuisine, and beautiful ambiance!

Yelp
It's a historic place for Philadelphians when celebrating a life event especially. I recently had a bday brunch here and there were two other parties in the same area celebrating bdays. Anyway, you are in for a close enough to fine dining experience. The servers are knowledgeable and very professional. Drinks were hitting too. Gone and get on that boat and have you a good time! Do it for me!
