The Deli Lama

I ordered breakfast for a corporate two-day offsite with my executives. Jimmy had me at "I got you" which was his response when I was running late and he was setting up on his own in the meeting room. Now as far as the food is concerned. This breakfast was awesome! From the creamiest and delicious yogurt I've ever tasted to the yummy charcuterie, to cage free hard boiled eggs, everything was delicious and fresh. There was something for everyone! This is a great selection for folks who are focused nutrition. Thank you Jimmy!

The lady that took my order was friendly & patient, and the burger, fries & coffee I had were great! The Hamburger is a big burger, and I would suggest getting all the fixings (mayo, mustard, etc), as I think they really make it complete. They made lunch time a happy time for this guy. :D Edit: Looking at other reviews, I should mention that they do take both card & cash here. There's also an ATM, if you need it. :)

Quick service, fresh ingredients, fair pricing, lots of hot and cold options. Sliced bread, hoagies, and more. Chips and French fries. Decent amount of parking. Wheel chair accessible.

Nice environment. Small cafe live that they have beer. But the food was not that. Not bad either. Fries were a little soggy and burger could use more flavor for my taste buds. But over all cool place

Great secret little breakfast and lunch place. Fast service for take out or casual indoor seating. The TBA sandwich is awesome. First opened 11 years ago. Jimmy, the friendly new owner, took over November 2020. It’s located in SF’s warehouse neighborhood with the new SF police forensics lab about to open right across the street. In other words, the neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but is safe. Super convenient to the Cesar Chavez exit off 280 or 101. You can find free street parking within a block or two. Currently cash only, but Jimmy says he’ll be taking credit cards before the end of 2021.

Always get the sausage breakfast sandwich if I'm in the area. The folks are very friendly as well.

Great spot. Clearly a locals spot, in that it's just a bunch of people who work nearby stopping for a filling breakfast bite. Not too much seating, honestly a bit dirty with a lot of flies buzzing around, but the kitchen area seemed nice and tidy, which is what's important. There's definitely a bit of a wait cause it's just one dude manning the grill, with a constant stream of people ordering, but nothing egregious. I got the breakfast burrito with chorizo, and just bomb. Simple, HUGE, and chorizo was really flavorful. Eggs were nice and fluffy, and everything just came together well. Highly recommend, and for the 12 bucks I paid, so worth it.

Solid sandwich! Super friendly staff that was very kind to my friend, all other patrons, and myself. Cheesesteak sandwich was a great size, cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and included a bunch of toppings that you could ask to remove if you wanted to. Great sandwich stop if you're near the area.

If you find yourself in the area or happen to have time during their somewhat limited hours (weekdays only, til 2pm- tell your tech or federally-funded friend who just got laid off), definitely give this place a try! I came here for the breakfast burrito which I'd heard about on TikTok and it did not disappoint. Gooey cheese, crunchy tots (even after taking it to-go and eating it ~30 min later), and very full of my meat of choice (bacon). I've never had so much bacon in my breakfast burrito, which was such a delightful surprise. Parking was easy (I parked right in front), it seemed to be ok to bring my dog in, the woman who helped me was super nice and friendly, and the wait was pretty quick. The place itself is no frills, just a standard lunch spot. And wow the price! I think (?) it was $11 before tax and tip. Fantastic and rare price for a breakfast burrito that size, with that much meat, in SF. Oh and breakfast burritos are served til 10:30am! Credit cards accepted. I'll definitely try to come by next time my schedule aligns!!

Tucked into Potrero hill, the Deli Lama is a local spot for a great lunch and an absolutely delicious breakfast burrito! Breakfast is till 10:30AM so keep that in mind. The service was quick and very kind. I appreciate the staff going above and beyond! I got a sausage breakfast burrito, it was big, very thicccc. It's packed with 3 eggs, sausage, tots, salsa, cheese. The cheese pull as soon as I got the burrito fresh was amazing. It's a little greasy, but I really like it! I had to save half because it was so good and big. I'm really happy with my experience, there's lots of seating. There's a 3% charge with credit so bring cash! I recommend this spot for a great, affordable breakfast/lunch!

I've tried a lot of breakfast burritos in my lifetime. I must say this is definitely my favorite one so far. The eggs were nice a fluffy. The tater tots were crispy. The sausage was full of flavor. The cheese was nice and gooey. I got the perfect cheese pull. The hot sauce was spicy but not to point where it made the burrito inedible. When I ordered, they did let me know there was a 15 order wait because someone had just placed a big order. It was worth the wait. The first bite was steaming hot but so worth almost burning my mouth for. Something about this breakfast burrito really hit the spot.

The Deli Lama is in a warehouse area, so if I wasn't working in that area I would probably not find it, but I'm so glad my work partner knew of it. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious! It was big and chock full of chicken, cucumbers, hummus, and lettuce, so I only ate half of it. I took all the cucumbers and lettuce out of it the next day, reheated it in the microwave, put the veggies back in, and it was still delicious! My friend and I shared the garlic fries, too, and they were also delicious. I would definitely go back to this place again!

Wow, this breakfast burrito really hit the spot. The chorizo was nice and flavorful, and the cheese in the burrito makes it really gooey. The tater tots was a great touch of crunch to each bite as well. The eggs were nice and fluffy and overall this burrito had great texture and good flavor. I definitely would come back and get another breakfast burrito happily. The workers were extremely nice as well here.

I had the turkey sausage breakfast burrito, which was excellent. The dish was generous and rather filling. I got my order via doordash and the burrito was still warm- the other things that I ordered were in mint condition. I would visit in person next time. Thanks Deli Lama!

Have only tried the steak breakfast burrito, but both times it was very good. The place can get pretty busy during the morning but I think they do a really good job at getting orders out efficiently. This place is located on a busy street with limited parking so be prepared.

Clean and casual eatery with a bit of seating inside and friendly staff. Ordered the chicken and bacon ranch wrap for take out, and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. It was pretty much a burrito filled with tasty ingredients like chicken, bacon, veggies, and melted cheddar, but the combination of flavors didn't go well together IMO, for instance, grilled peppers and onions, with fresh lettuce, and ranch. It wasn't bad, just different. If I returned, I'd probably select something else off the menu. Too bad they stop serving breakfast items early (no breakfast after 10:30am), especially with such limited business hours, it's a bit inconvenient for me.

I would not order a BLT again because it's more "L" than anything. A whole lot of lettuce and with hardly any bacon!

So this is my second time coming here and I'm so glad I found this little hole in the wall gem. If you know this area there aren't many places to eat. The first time I found this spot was off of yelp. It had great reviews too so I figured what the heck. The place has some parking outside, indoor seating a few tables with their roll up door open so you get the fresh air, no bathrooms at least that I saw. But the workers here are so friendly and welcoming. They talk to you about your day and recommend their specials. So looking over the menu I went ahead and ordered the T.B.A melt which was done within 5 minutes. Oh ya I also got fries like a fatty. I got my food and wow the portions were not small the sandwich was huge with lots of avocados in it and meat. It was so good I couldn't eat the whole thing only half of it. Then the fries were delicious as well. I definitely had to come try this place out again. Well here I am for breakfast lol since they have a breakfast menu I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. It comes with tater tots inside so they definitely know the way to my heart. The burrito was big as well and flavor was on point, using that real fresh chorizo. There is nothing like having a freshly made burrito, it was delicious. I definitely recommend trying this spot out, it didn't disappoint.

go-to sandwich spot for just a good deli sandwich. I've never actually gotten a drink here, but from the looks of the drink wall they also have a really good selection of stuff.

Amazing salads! Hearty and yummy. Love these for a filling and nutritious lunch. Haven't tried their sandwiches but if their salads are a reflection of their quality I'd say they're just as great.

I tried the sausage breakfast burrito and glazed raised donut and both were excellent.

In the industrial area of Bayview-Hunters Point, the Deli Lama serves the working community with a large menu of items for breakfast and lunch. They are cash only and have ATM on site, if you forget. I've been here a few times now and each time trying something new. I have had the Chicken Shawarma, Turkey Sandwich and salads. Everything I have ordered was great, so I keep coming back to try other items. Another reason why I love coming here is the friendly staff and the quickness of the kitchen. By the time you order and pay for your meal, move down to wait for your meal and it's done within minutes.

Hands down one of the best breakfast burritos in town!! Along with other delicious food! Try it!

Very good spot, a good lunch to catch. I really mess with the wraps! They go a little crazy, a good size too. Very nice service as well.

The owner was an outstanding job at hosting us. The breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito we ordered was outstanding! We drove 7 hours and had to stop here! We will be coming back!!!!

Looking for the most fire breakfast sandwich in the neighborhood. It's a no frills type of place. Simple, good, tasty eats. Family owned and operated so you know your money is going to the right place! Get down there!

I had a turkey burger with Swiss cheese, bacon & avocado and everything on it. The burger was delicious and juicy. I didn't have to put any condiments it. Service was great. It's a nice lunch spot.

My sandwich my veggie delight was cool, but it only had mushrooms and spinach, when it says veggies I am not sure what veggies because I only had mushrooms and spinach. It was alright but it was enough mushrooms are spinach on my sandwich so that was disappointing, but the service is amazing. The guy at the register is amazing!!!

Ordered over the phone and was greeted with a friendly hello. Placed my phone order and it was promptly ready for pick up. Got the walnut Bleu cheese salad and added fried chicken....it was absolute fire. Generous portions and great flavors due to the evidently fresh ingredients. I haven't tried anything else on the menu yet, though due to the quality and flavors, will now make it a mission to do so.

Good food, very convenient for where I work at and the area. Staff is very friendly. Prices are a bit on the higher end but for being one of the only deli's in the area i understand.

The Last Real Deli In San Francisco if you've never worked a black-collar job, off the books or on third shift i don't care what your opinion of this place is. but if you've ever sweat for cash tips or had to pull your sweat-stained Ben Davis's on at 4:30am to go pull another double you know the brilliance of the Deli Lama. stand in line, wait your turn; know what the hell you want when you get to the register. no, it's not fancy--there's no kale, there's no açai bowl. but you can get the best goddamn turkey and avocado with sprouts and pepper jack on sourdough for less than $12 and if you don't know what that means to the City then you should just head back to Burlingame. real food, real Frisco. argue with your mother.

I had tried this place out because I love the play on words for the name and it's only about 5 minutes from my job. When I tell you this place never disappoints! Sandwiches are delicious and more than enough to fill you up. Fries are always yummy and fresh. I've also tried some of the wraps and I really like them as well. This place is great and I definitely recommend!

Every time I go in there the food is so fresh so great great customer service hamburgers are out of this world tater tots oh how I love the tater tot's brings me back to my childhood

I guess having it on the map subjects them to a rating just by walking. Never eaten there but many people I work with have. I haven't heard anybody say it was nasty and it does smell good when you walk by. Maybe I'll either this week and change my review

Ordered my $10 breakfast burrito over the phone... I drive to the establishment, stand in the PICK-UP line.... The cashier woman ask me if I'm picking up... I say yes, then she asks me to move to the order line which is 5 customers deep....... What's the point of having a pick up window if I gotta stand In the order line????????? Slow ass service. This shit would not fly in NYC.. then again, SF is no NYC

This is a working mans sandwich shop! There is no pretense here, just good subs served fast. Their cheesesteak while nothing like Philly is outstanding. Great flavor and really juicy.

Waiting to get my car fixed, someone was eating a sandwich that smelled delicious and after looking at the reviews I decided to head over there myself. OMG was it delicious. Thinking I was going to get a basic deli sandwich I was wrong! The sandwich is toasted or grilled giving it an extra "pop" of flavor. Definitely a treat and I may have to go out of my way even if I'm not fixing my car to get one of these again.

Got the TSA on Dutch crunch and it was absolutely delicious. One of my favorite deli sandwiches. I was only able to eat half and saved the rest for later since it was pretty filling. This place is cash only but does doordash and has an atm on-site.

Trust me when I say: "I know a good business when I see one." Deli Lama has amazing food and is made fresh when you order. Its located in the industrial part of Bay View and probably doesn't get notice the way it should...but that means more food for me, right? Deli Lama was the only GOOD place I seen on Yelp when spending my lovely morning in the Ceaser Chavez area. Walking distance from the main street and TONS of all day parking in the area. HISTORY OF THE COMPANY: Opened about 5 years ago and its a son and pop Deli! The son owns the business and the dad helps out. The son cooks and you are able to see your food being made. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Is amazing! I ordered my food and he read back my order. Once it was ready it was then hand delivered to my table and asked if there was anything else I needed! FOOD: IS SO DANG GOOD! I ordered a Sausage breakfast burrito and I have to admit the food is so filling. I wasn't able to finish all of it but trust me, I was trying! They have a HUGE menu full of good ol' food. Sandwiches, Salads, Breakfast burritos, Burgers and Hot Wraps. YUM, YUM, YUM! BEVERAGES: They sale all type of drinks (except Alcohol) and they also sell Coffee! BIG points for all the coffee drinkers! ATMOSPHERE: Very welcoming, you walk in and instantly get greeted by the owner! Average little deli spot with about 5-6 tables and chairs. Menu is large enough for you to be able to see everything they have to offer. This place gives me SO many reasons to come back when I am in the neighborhood. In the morning its tons of people who work nearby and the owner greets people by name. It's just so nice! I will be back!

This place is so good! The spinach and feta salad is bomb; add chicken to it. The chicken shawarma is bomb too; add hot sauce if you like it spicy. And don't even get me started on the tater tots. They must fry them in beef fat because they are so F'ing delicious and super crispy, but you have to order before noon because they have a rush at noon and don't fry the tots as long, just an FYI. The sandwiches, burger and cheesesteaks are all pretty good too. I personally don't care for the tacos but other than that I'd say anything you get here will be good and definitely filling. They're portions are pretty generous.

This place is legit! The cheese steak sandwiches are super tasty. The meat is seasoned perfectly with the perfect amount of char from the grill. The only thing I would suggest is they need to put hot peppers on their cheese steaks. I added jalapeños which gave it a good kick. Tater tots were crunchy and tasty. This is a great find in the middle of an industrial area.

Great place to stop for a quick no frills lunch. Cashier was very friendly and made recommendations. I went around noon on a week day and ordered the falafel veggie wrap and it was ready in under 5 minutes. It was fresh and delicious and absolutely hit the spot! Would definitely go again.

They have coffee, a variety of breakfast and lunch food offerings, and are open weekdays starting at 5 AM. It's not the best coffee but it's hot, fresh, cheap, full of caffeine and... did I mention they're the only place open at 5 AM anywhere within a mile? The chick who works there is sassy, the other two guys are pleasant and they remember faces and names pretty well. It's definitely a spot with a ton of regulars - general contractors, construction workers, taxi drivers, FedEx employees, beat cops and tour bus operators. They usually have the TV tuned to CNN and the radio blasting 80s hits while they sling their hash on the grill and chat up the customers waiting for their grub (no one should have to listen to Prince before they're fully awake, but I won't hold it against them). As for the food, they have a shit ton of choices but I can only speak to one item, which is the only thing I ever get other than coffee - they make a DAMN good breakfast burrito! Steak or chicken, eggs, salsa, potatoes and cheese melted together in a flour tortilla with a 20 oz coffee will set you back $8 and change - a deal for the size and quality. I'm usually not hungry 'til noon after eating one... The Deli Lama is a convenient early morning breakfast spot in a part of The City where there are few options. Check them out if you find yourself out in "Apparel City." Tip: If you want to save some time and know what you want, call ahead - your food will be waiting for you in a to-go bag when you get there.

This place is GREAT!! If you need to get your grub on this is the place. I love the hustle,love the food and love the fact how friendly the guys are there.. keep it up

It's definitely a hidden gem of a place. Fast delicious food and at a price you can't beat! Only wish they accepted credit cards.

Very much enjoyed the TSA - turkey avocado and sprouts sandwich on wheat bread. Inside there were cucumbers, lettuce, pickles, onions and tomatoes with a light slathering of mustard and mayo. Thinly sliced deli Turkey piled high made for a very difficult to open my mouth wide enough to bite, but trust me when I say, I did it! And enjoyed it immensely. However, hind sight is 20/20 and looking back on the whole experience, I do believe I will go with a roll next time around as the sliced bread didnt hold up to all the fresh goodness that was packed between them. And unless you work near by this spot probably isnt for you. Which means more room for the locals as there is very limited seating available. Definitely worth stopping by if in the bay area.
