The Deli is one my two favorite dive bars in Norman, OK. I go there for the live music, the incredible shrimp tacos from the taco truck (Taco Villa) parked across from the Deli, and the cheap drinks. The resident band Biscuits and Gravy plays every Thursday and they are exceptional, usually a combination of a couple of regular musicians supported by guests. It is all about rock and roll, red dirt, occasional country and a general love for love music from the local community. It is very packed on the weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) during the college season due to the proximity of OU, and the bands that are playing usually have a large following, for such a small place. It is “hole in the wall” with a great a personality and love for local musicians. A “must experience” for anyone who wants to discover Norman’s night life.

Hi World, Norman, Oklahoma has the BEST hang out place for a Tuesday night! The Deli rocks on ALL cylinders. We have a place where one can let loose and enjoy the really ammaaaaazzzing karaoke performances with the crowd just adding wood to the flames of songs, dancing and just plain old good times. A must visit and you will be coming back again and again. Thank you Deli for such an ammaazzing evening💥🔥😇Baljit.

Google
The Deli is your atypical dive bar that is a Norman staple for live music. The Deli has been supporting local musicians on Campus Corner for several decades. A popular place to meet locals or catch up with old friends.

Absolutely love this place. I am an Austinite (point and laugh, Sooners and Okies, go ahead), but The Deli took me by genuine surprise. I will be raving about this spot and will surely visit again.

Google
The Deli is great for live music. It is small and not much seating, though, so if you have back or knee problems like me get there early to get a table. Drinks are very well priced and the staff works hard and fast!!

Google
Super fun little dive bar!!! My cousin and her friends go all the time whenever they're in town and took us while we were visiting recently... Pleasantly surprised! Great drinks and live music too!

Yelp
Just left here usually a fun time, friends and I always have good time...until tonight when my sisters and I were trying to use the restroom as my sister sat down on the toilet the door got kicked in by two grown ass (40-50) women. One said "I know there are more stales in here open the fucking door" if you've been to the deli you would know there is only one toliet in the girls restroom. A grown male walked in to the restroom totally unprofessional and weird... The owner told us to get out obviously to de-escalate the situation this led to him telling us to get the fuck out as the bar was starting to close. We were just trying to tell him what happened as it was very uncomfortable, he then told us to use the mens restroom and it will be fine . If i were you i would avoid using the bathroom...because everyone felt like it was okay to watch you half naked/ felt in-tilted to kick the door open.

Yelp
Perfect place for those looking to chill with a few cold beverages while listening to great live music! Appears to be the "Go-To" for locals in Norman as well as Univ. of Oklahoma students/visitors.

Yelp
just left the deli and i can't believe what happened the owner lets a grown man and woman walk in on my girlfriend while they where using the restroom as everyone knows girls go to the restroom together because you can't trust anyone but the owner literally yelled at my girlfriend and her sisters because they where taking turns inside the restroom and he yelled at them to get out and kicked them out i'm a business owner myself but i can not believe the owner encouraged it this is so unprofessional as he yelled at me for trying to calm him down if i could give a negative review i would (FOR ANYONE WANTING TO GO I WOULD NOT)

Yelp
If you want an authentic dive bar experience in Norman, The Deli is THE place. Red Cup Beer Special, cheap alcohol overall. Lots of great local bands every night. Hosty on Sundays are my favorite but I've never seen a bad band there.

Yelp
Terrible Experience here. Karaoke on Tuesdays are a joke and a cash grab. Came in with a group of friends at 10 and checked in numerous times to see our place in line after being there for 2 hours and 30mins DJ informs us that we have been bumbled down due to people tipping her to move ahead. This is a terrible business practice and does not allow everyone to enjoy their karaoke experience! Hopefully things will change for the better.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a whim Valentine's Day not knowing where the heck we were going and so glad we did! The guy performing on stage was fabulous and the special drink that night was made superbly delicious by the bartender!! Can't wait to go back! Thank you!!

Yelp
This is a legendary venue in Norman. There are many great musicians who have played at Deli. The staff is friendly and the music is rather consistent.

Yelp
Great place to see some live music (free on Mondays!). I went here to see a friend's band play. It's a fun little dive with an IPA on tap, that's all I really ask for these days. Service was awesome, despite my being an Alaska dude that stuck out like a frostbitten thumb. I forgot to do the infamous "red cup" deal. It's not a true "Deli", though. Get your Sammys somewhere else.

Yelp
The deli??? More like the HANGOUT!! Loved the energy and the people here... made me feel alive!!!! Would come back with my girls for another frisky night of fun!

Yelp
So much love for The Deli. It's not just a bar, it's an institution - a Norman MUST. Great vibes & no pretension. Wide variety of people who'll make you feel welcome. It can get CROWDED late because it's not a very big joint but that just adds to the experience! Very few haters/asshats (that I've encountered, anyway). It must be said - Angela & Bill both know what they're doing behind that bar If you love live music, it's happening NIGHTLY at The Deli - be sure to check out Caleb McGee & The Underdogs' FREE live set every Tuesday night, followed by karaoke at 10pm (with some VERY talented local artists who join in!). Just go experience it. Even if it's only once. Totally worth it. SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS/MUSICIANS!

Yelp
Bias, Before I worked there.. I was a 6 days a week guy. Over 15 years later still working there! Great music and the best crowd in Norman. And they do it live 365. Rap, country and rock. Mostly some kind of rock, But they just book talented cats regardless the type of music. Hosty Sundays are hands down the best sunday night show you will get in the state! Friendly bartenders and good prices. Enjoy the show and tell them Deli Bill sent ya.

Yelp
I was directed here after asking the door man at the strip club around the corner where to get some cheap drinks. At first I was pretty hesitant to enter, but was pleasantly surprised after paying the $5 cover and walking in. The Deli looks nothing like a deli on the inside. Instead, it pays homage to old school saloons with all sorts of crazy wooden chairs and benches all over the place. The place is not a huge bar, but was extremely packed with college aged kids. One trip to the bar and I figured out why. CHEAP DRINKS. I'm talking $5 for a shot of Jack and 2 Red Stripes. Good God that's cheap. Just keep in mind that they don't serve your higher end stuff, like Hennessy, Belvedere, or wines. Oh, the music here was actually really really good too. There was a live band on stage that played everything from Thievery Corporation (!) to 50 Cent (!!!!???). You'd think that mix would sound horrible, but the band that was playing pulled it off extremely well. The only 2 knocks that I have on this place are that it allows smoking inside (and there was pretty much no ventilation, so that smoke lingered) and that some cute drunk ass girl spilled half of her beer on me. Other than that, if was somehow found myself back in this neck of the woods, I'd definitely hit The Deli up again for some fun.

Yelp
The best night to go to the Deli is Sunday night, when Mike Hosty (the one man band!) is playing. Every Sunday, he puts on a great show for a fun crowd of people to party with. And once you're there, get your self a red cup and have a good time. You don't get the complete Norman/college-town experience until you've experienced The Deli and Mike Hosty.

Yelp
Stopped into this place during the week while on travel for work looking for a place to grab a drink. I paid a $5 cover becuase there were 2 bands playing that night. For during the week, the place was pretty packed. I assume it had something to do with the bands (one band was 4 guys playing what looked to be African drums). Drinks were priced on average with the area. I plan on stopping into this place again just becuase it seems to be the only place in Norman that draws a crowd (more than 20 people) during the week.

Yelp
THIS, my friends, is the best dive bar/music venue you are going to find in the metro area! Whether you're a local or just passing through, don't miss a chance to hear a local musician perform on their stage while enjoying a $5 shot and beer special. The Deli is small, dark, covered in posters and stickers, loved by locals, frequented by the most loved local artists, just everything a good dive bar should be! Check their social media pages (Facebook or Instagram) for up-to-date listings of their lineups and whether they will charge a cover. My favorite night is Thursday night "country music group therapy," when Kierston White and whichever local musicians she invites along always grace the stage between 7-9pm every week. (No cover! Woo!)

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars to go to in Norman. I go about twice a month depending on who's playing. The Deli has been around forever it seems like. "Live Music Every Night" is their slogan and they deliver. You can see all types of acts. Local Bands mostly, but, for instance, I saw a really great reggae band from Austin last weekend. There is a cover charge for the bands, usually $5. And they have the best deal around for beer. $3.50 buys you one of those those large red cups they serve at Mexican restaurants, FULL of cheap and tasty Bud Light. There is not much better to me than seeing bands with cheap beer on a hot summer night. As an added bonus, this bar is still smoking...which makes it convenient for us smokers. Say hello if you see my wife and I there!

Yelp
a great place to go for live music any night. as they say, they "do it live 365!" hosty is a local must see, as is travis linville if he's playing. its a smokers bar so just a heads up to all you non smokers that may not like that type of thing. if you can take it its definitely worth it and for what its worth its really not that bad.
google avatar

Yelp
the deli has exceptional live music. if you can get in to experience it. the venue is quite small. be prepared to smell like an old ashtray and soco lime shots when you depart. oh, and if you happen to make it inside for the summer, there is no air conditioning. so try not to pass out while you are enjoying your lukewarm red cup.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Want to check out great local music at a good price and have a cold one or two... well this is your place. Not much shine or dazzle just a good ole fashion hole in the wall bar that you can check out the newest up and coming acts on the local music scene. With the occasional lower rung indie group coming through. If you want glitz and glamour this ain't it. I like the place just be prepared for where you are going. A bonus now is that they also have smoke free shows on certain nights.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
I consider the deli to be the only live music venue in Norman. Yes, hosty on Sundays is always a great time, but the deli has live music every night! I love catching new bands at the deli. I like their LITs and red cups. LITs are the cheapest and fastest way to get drunk.

Yelp
This place looks like a wet sock with music. Like you might get raped here. But the have a doorman so you are probably going to be ok. Don't worry it's a staple of Norman.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
This is a good old fashioned rock and roll bar. Small, LOUD and packed with pretty girls. I mean full of smoking hot OU undergrads. and LOUD. This is a good place to have a good time
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
A Norman staple, live music every night, cheap draft beer, and good times! I hate the smoke but after a couple of red cups you don't really notice.
google avatar

Melissa Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Norman. Live music every night! Great atmosphere and $5 red cups.

Yelp
Norman's best 5 Star Dive! Catch great live music here 365 days a year. Have free shows most weekdays 7:00-9:00 and late shows usually for $5 every night. Cheap 3.2 beer on tap along with a full bar and a handful of premium bottle beers. Can get crowded and Smokey but occasionally there is a smoke-free show. Hosty's show every Sunday night is smoke-free. Great place to catch local and regional music.
google avatar

Misty G.

Yelp
This place is great. The inside is small, so get there early if you actually want to get a good seat and enjoy the entertainment. Live music every night, that rocks!!
