Where To Go On A Date When You Haven’t Met This Person Yet - Chicago - The Infatuation

"You can’t go wrong with The Delta in Wicker Park, especially when you get a seat on their awesome back patio. It’s a casual, laid-back place with good cocktails - some of which even come in larger-format “vases,” in case you find out you have a mutual interest in drinks made with mezcal and clarified watermelon juice. Plus, the short menu of Southern small plates won’t trap you into a long dinner if you discover that’s the only thing you have in common." - adrian kane

The Delta Lounge is a great get away located in beautiful Oak Lawn, IL. Local legend had it that if you go into the ladies or men’s washroom and flick the light switch 5 times up and down the toilet lifts up in the air revealing a stairwell. My friends and I went and tried this. Sure enough it worked. We walked down the stairs and were greeted by a flight attendant. She asked us for our ID’s and opened the door. It was a whole other bar below The Delta. It looked like an airport. They had peanuts, drinks, a movie playing, and another pay phone oddly. What a night we had there. Instead of last call they make an announcement. Please prepare for landing and have a great night.

This is about the worse bar you could go to. If I could give negative stars I would. First of all we got there around 8:30 pm and the bartender was wasted off her butt. She over charged us and even forgot to give us our change then spent most of the time in the pool room and neglecting customers.. So unprofessional .. Not only that the bathroom was disgusting and the floor tiles in the main bar were so broken I thought I was going to fall and hurt myself. This was bar far the worse I have ever seen. I'm surprised this bar is still open for business. Very disappointing to say the very least. This is by far the longest review I have giving this is how passionate I am about this review.

I love this place. It's my speed. Nice working class older crowd, loose slots, pool table, attentive bar tenders. You can have a conversation here, the patrons are good working class people.

Great local dive bar where the bartenders always have conversation and I can just enjoy some calmness and very cold beer

Yelp
Nasty place. Floors are cracked. Tiles are missing. People still smoke in the bar. Everything is disgusting about this place.

Yelp
In the realm of dive bars this place is one of the more well kept that I have been to. It is a very small place but the make really good use of the small place to fit as many patrons as they can in the joint. The beers are cheap which is a definite plus. The bartenders are fast and friendly and the crowd is a lot of fun. this is located in a stretch where there are simply dozens of tiny bars to choose from. They have won me over as a future customer. They have pool, darts and your typical bar type attractions.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall with the most friendly locals. I really enjoy coming here, Corrin the bartender is always so friendly and we always meet new friends! Stop on In and play some games. The drinks are great the atmosphere is real. Gotta love this bar!

Yelp
One of my all time favorite dives, I dare you to watch a Bears game here, the Son of the Owner will be there, as big as a house and a booming voice he will call out the plays with such zeal you would think he was on the team. The Daughter of the owner Rasa, is sweet as they come, she may invite you into a game of uno or let you taste some sweet concoction that ends with tini. And if you are lucky the Owner Will come in, he is there on a limited basis, (he collects the cash). Joe is in his 80's if he's seen you once he remembers what you drank, or what you spilled, I have seen him there as early as noon and as late as 2am. All the usual dive bar elements pool table, heavy metal, bikers etc. but my favorite element is the guys who show up selling steaks from the nearby Jewel, it goes like this. Guy walks in , pulls the bartender off to the side, they have a little conversation, he hands over a package, then he works the crowd he has about 15 or 20 steaks lays them out and sells them for 1/2 price, you can get them cheaper if you are interested, but most drunks jump at the chance for a cheap steak, so he usually get his first price. Bar has a lot of regulars, most are quite friendly, when you leave take the side street down rather than exiting onto 87th street, The oak Lawn cops like to get the Burbank rif raf and vice a versa.

Yelp
This place is small, dirty, and boring. A typical suburban biker bar with alot of old people who are not far away from a different set of wheels. This place would never be in certain neighborhoods and they really never up keep this place. The televisions are from like 1950 and the few times I have gone in there was like nobody there.

Yelp
Got my Harley stolen from here ... seedy mother fuckers but still a nice bar. Owner and daughter/bartender very nice people. Feel sorry for the 5 fuckers who stole my bike if i ever see them in there again.

Yelp
THE best dive bar on the southside, hands down! The interior resembles that bar that was in the movie Gremlins..very retro! Good beer, good people, great place!!
