We went twice while in town because it was so good and put server was great! I didn't catch her name but she was the gal up front with long brown/black hair. The second time in, she remeree our orders from a few days prior....impressive! The burger was the best! The pizza was good and the corn was amazing! Thank you, we enjoyed our time!

Came in with a co-worker for lunch on a weekday… It wasn’t busy at all and our server, Alex was friendly and helpful…. But overall, he was the only one working the dining room and service was affected and slow because of this. He greeted us as soon as he could, but he had to bounce from table to table constantly before he could take our order. We started with their salad, which was really good. Made with decent, fresh ingredients. Next up what their Sundevil pizza and it was decent. The crust was too thick for a brick oven/wood fired pizza. The crust resembled a “Dominos” style crust… bland and dense. The topping were decent, but the sauce didn’t do much for the overall flavor of the pizza. The day before I went to The Kettle Black and service was horribly slow there as well… I think these two joints are part of the same restaurant group and find it odd that both would be managed this way. Overall – I’d get something other than pizza if I returned.

Google
The Desmond was delicious, and had a great atmosphere. The reason I took off a star was because the chairs at the table we sat at were wooden and had a small seat. They weren’t very comfortable. It would be nice if the bar chairs were at the table. Otherwise, this place was great, and I look forward to visiting again.

Google
We visited for dinner and enjoyed ourselves. We ordered two pizzas, they are handmade and about 12”. We got a sausage/pepperoni and the Truffle Pie. The server asked if we wanted ranch on the side with the truffle pie pizza. We were confused with this question and it was too busy to ask why ranch might be needed. Overall the pizzas were great, atmosphere was good and we’d return again.

Google
Great place for sports-watching. Got pizza and wings. Not very impressed with the pizza flavor. The crust was kind of covered on the bottom with carbon bits from the oven as if it hasn't been swept out frequently. The sauce wasn't much to comment on but lacked a robust flavor. The wings were yummy. Lots of flavor most were juicy but a few were very overcooked and dry. Service was very nice. I might go back but try some different options.

My fiance and I came here on a Monday night for dinner and it exceeded our expectations! Bruschetta was insane. Grilled chicken sandwhich also very good.

After departing Stand-Up Live around 8:30pm on a Thursday, had planned to grab a bite and some pints at the place next door – but The Desmond was ‘bumping’. Couple Church Music Hazy IPAs, cool crowd / vibe, music, friendly and personal bar service from Colin….and ‘The Clark Burger’ was cooked perfectly with crispy fries – both on point. Great place to do a drop in after a concert, game or show – just a stone throw away (3-minute walk) from such venues. Thank you, The Desmond team and company. We will be back.

Google
The Margarita Pizza was fantastic, it would not have minded a bit more basil but it was great. We got the habanero wings and loved them. I will say if you do t like mustard you will not like that flavor. we went for lunch so it was not busy, the bartender made us a great Bloody Mary, and the waitress was very attentive. The vibe in that place was very chill.

Yelp
Alex was a very good bartender. He recommended the Vernon and it was a very good drink. The pepperoni pizza was great as well while watching a baseball game. This was a cool bar with a great atmosphere.

Yelp
We went late at night after a baseball games for a quick bite so I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the elote and definitely was not what I was expecting! They gave a pretty big portion and on the cob, a little on the spicier side but the flavor was so delicious! Would come back just to get this!
google avatar

Teena M.

Yelp
The pizza and cheese curds were alright. The elote appetizer wasn't too much to be desired . Whenever we have been here of an evening the service and food have been amazing but this time we were there around lunchtime and the service wasn't the best and the food wasn't up to par either. I'll go back again but probably only of an evening.

Yelp
We decided to try here when the place we were going to next door had a 45 minute wait. There was open seating and we instantly found seats at the bar and were greeted by the bar tender as we sat down! The restaurant is a small location but very quaint and not crowded with tables on top of each other. A very comfortable environment and CLEAN bathrooms The pizzas were delicious and they were not opposed to substitutions or modifications! The drinks were amazing!

Yelp
We came here to meet a friend for Happy Hour. Good cocktails and drinks. Friendly bartenders and team members. Went over right around 5-6 pm on a weeknight and there were plenty of seating options, which is nice! Need to return to try the food next time!

Yelp
We had to have walked by this place several times without stopping. Shame on us! When we walked in, the place was empty. But soon thereafter, it started to fill up. We sat at the bar and Taryn our bartender was charming. After a couple of drinks, we ordered their wood fired sausage pizza. It was delicious. All the ingredients worked well together. We enjoyed our experience there and will continue to stop by when we're in the area.

Yelp
Went here for lunch as it is just across the street from my office building and loved the overall experience. Not cheap but worth it. Overall I would recommend this place for the taste. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: We tried pizza. It is wood fired one and tastes very good. The ingredients feels premium quality and can't complain anything about it. They do have a nice drinks menu but we did not try. Service: Welcoming staff and service was fast as well. Ambiance: Nice interior and outdoor seating along the walkway & they do have road facing high seats where we exactly sat. Has full bar too. Satisfying experience overall. Price: A little over average for sure but for downtown and the quality it is worth it. I would not go here every day but wouldn't mind being here on special occasions.

Yelp
We were out on New Year's Eve and managed to snag a table here close to 11 for some drinks and snacks! It was fabulous! Cool decor with a lot of maps of the city and cozy plush blue leather booths! Service was great, despite them being packed. I always love cheese curds but the homemade marinara made these stand out. The pizza fries were also fantastic--guessing for the same reason. Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for lunch before a concert. The decor is vibey and the servers are nice. The service was just so slow. Someone in our party had to leave after we had already been waiting for 30 minutes to get our food and there was barely anyone there. I got a burger and fries which were good but not for the price.

Yelp
The Desmond is a spot I found downtown that I have never heard of but turned out to be a great lunch spot. Whether you are looking for a spot to go for a work lunch or just a quick bite with a friend, this is a great find. The atmosphere is great with indoor/outdoor open restaurant vibes. The pizza was decent but I love my pizza with thinner crust and a little less doughy taste. The housemade pesto that was on the pizza was incredible though! We both loved the Earl's Caprese and thought the charred crostini was great paired with burrata and prosciutto.
google avatar

Shana C.

Yelp
I'm so happy we happened upon this great spot! Indoor and outdoor seating. Our bartender was fabulous! She made us feel welcome from the second we walked in! We had the meatballs and the Desmond pizza (with sausage added)! Both were delicious! We stayed for karaoke which was so fun!

Yelp
My friend and I wanted to go the Black Kettle before we attend the Phoenix symphony, and the place was bought out. But folks at the door there said that they also owned Desmond and we should try it. We did and it was great. The service was top notch and we were well attended to. The menu selection was limited but it was good, I really wanted something from kettle black but they couldn't do it. So I opted in for a burger and my friend got the St. Pierre sandwich. They were both tasty and very well made. For our drinks my friend hit an old fashioned, and I opted for the Daphne Mae which I highly recommend. Overall, we had a great experience, delicious food, and awesome service.

Yelp
Excellent wings and pizza. Great service and a creative menu. My friend ordered the Manhattan and said it was the best he's ever had. Perfect place to go after a downtown event.

Yelp
Solid bar/restaurant located in downtown PHX right by the Footprint Center. Ideal spot to go to before/after a Suns game, which is what we did last week. It thankfully wasn't too crowded and we were able to get in without a reservation. Nice craft beer list, good range of food options, and not too expensive. Service was good, everyone there was nice. I got the yonkers deli hero, which was good. It was also open later than some of the nearby places, so after the game we were happy to come back here. I was in from out of town, but if I lived here I'd definitely go back, especially if going to a Suns game.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Desmond Spirits & Oven! I want to give a huge thank you to the Chef and Bartender who were working on 2/12 around 9 PM. Despite being busy, they went out of their way to multitask and make sure I got my phone order as quickly as possible. The food was amazing, and the customer service was top-notch. I highly recommend their pizza fries and wings--absolutely delicious! 10/10, I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in Phoenix.

Yelp
This place was great. Nice outdoor seating for people watching. I am a downtownee so I like to watch the city move and this offers a great view. Looks like a convention is rolling into town. The bartender/server was good and attentive. The food was great. Solid portion sizes so I wasn't really hungry for dinner. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This was our second time eating here and it was just as great as the first time! We came on MLK day so we thought it might be a bit busy, thankfully it was not... there were a few other patrons in there but wasn't crazy busy at all, no wait and we were able to sit right down. The wings and pizza fries were both great, but the best item I've had here is the truffle pizza, it's one of the best I've ever had! The only complaint is that they have several tv's in the place, but they didn't have the Suns game on... would have been cool to be able to watch the home team, but we didn't ask them to change the channel either, so no big deal. Definitely try to go during an off time because they were packed the first time we visited... but will definitely be back for that truffle pizza! Waitress was also nice and attentive.

Yelp
We ended up here after a failed attempt to go to "The other" famous pizza place, and I am so grateful that the night led us to here!! What a fantastic experience! We were seated immediately (bonus) and ordered the truffle pizza, their special hot honey pizza, the harvest salad, and charcuterie board. Everything was PHENOMENAL! The truffle pizza was the superstar of the evening, and the charcuterie board was plentiful and a great mix of items. We did have to ask for more bread though, which they brought out without hesitation. The drinks were fantastic though I don't remember exactly which ones we ordered as I was on sensory overload. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu, plus the service was fantastic! We were stuffed and ended up boxing up Our food and gave it to someone in the need on the streets, as we were traveling for work. Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
Lunch | Wings | World Cup Lunch - My friends and I wanted to go to a spot with cocktails and good food for lunch. We decided to go to Desmond because they had multiple TVs and open seating at the bar. Their lunch menu was relatively comprehensive, with pizza, sandwiches, wings, and other bar bites. They had two bartenders working and a variety of servers. So, their service was top-notch and extremely efficient. Wings - I decided to go with other wings because they appeared to be the best bang for buck. I had the BBQ and Dry Rub Combo with veggies. It was the perfect meal for when you are "hungry" but not "starving." I was definitely full after the meal. The wings were solid, not special. I would get them again. But, I will probably explore the menu the next time I go. World Cup - We went to watch the world cup. We had great seats at the bar. Our experience makes us apt to go back if we want to a small place to enjoy a game and get a meal - this would be ideal. All the seats in the restaurant can see at least one of their three 42" TVs. However, the best seats are at the bar, which is probably highly sought after during game days. Pro Tip: Little parking in front of the store. So budget more time if you are driving for parking. Pro Tip: it is a great spot to go before or after an MLB or NBA game. It is in the heart of downtown Pheonix. So, they should have a lot of foot traffic on game days.

Yelp
Wow, super disappointed. From the moment we walked in the service was awful. The sign said "seat yourself". The hostess, or server, or whatever she was said we could sit at one of the communal tables, but if a larger party came in we would be asked to move. We thought this was weird, but we sat at a table where some other people were sitting because we figured they couldn't ask all of us to move. We weren't even asked if we wanted a table, but after we sat at the communal tables several other couple and parties of three and four were seated at tables around us. Another couple sat down at the communal table about ten minutes after we did. They were served first. They even received their food before we received our drinks. The other customers who were seated at the "real" tables after we sat down were also served before we were. The server finally came back and took our orders. We ordered a starter and an entree. It took at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The "starter" didn't come out first. Both dishes came out at the same time. The server said she would bring us some plates since we were obviously sharing both the starter and the entree. She never came back. After about 15 minutes we had to go up to the bar and ask for plates. We have been finished eating for about 15 minutes and we are still waiting, as I wrote this, for the server to come back so we can ask for our check. We will NEVER come back. Update: As I was writing this, our server finally came back to check in. I said "we are done and we just want to leave". She must've realized this meant we weren't happy, because the manager (Tati) came to see us. She allowed us to express our concerns. She apologized, adjusted our bill, and asked us to give them another chance. She even gave us a discount card to use next time. We appreciated the gesture and we will consider coming back.

Brian L.

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations. I initially anticipated high prices, but to my surprise, the prices were very reasonable. The pizzas here are truly exceptional, and I must say, they serve some of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. The bread is remarkably soft and of high quality.
google avatar

Rose L.

Yelp
This place was great!! It was completely packed when we arrived and virtually no place to sit. The person seating us managed to find us a great table! The place was packed and servers were moving at lightning speed to tend to all the customers. The place is decorated nicely and the ambiance is nice. It's a little loud, but it had a great vibe! We spit the Greek salad and meatballs to split. They were both good. The dressing on the salad was light and delicious! Great flavors. The meatballs were tasty, had great flavor and came with three pieces of bread! The bread was so good and slightly charred, great for dipping in the meatball sauce. We didn't order pizza but the pizza was wood fired and looked really good! The thing we loved so much was the donuts!!! They has cinnamon and sugar and had a chocolate dip. We could have eaten 5 plates of them. This place was great! My only feedback was many to have a few more of the toppings on the salad. There were only 2 halved olives and a few pepperonis, but the salad was delicious! Also the service was great and fast. They were consistently checking on the table and they were all very friendly. You won't regret going here.

Yelp
There are some great options for pizza in downtown Phoenix. The Desmond is one of those apparently. I stopped in here a couple of times now. And it's always been pretty busy but I've been able to get a seat and get food quickly. Most recently I stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon and got a wasabi Caesar salad and sun devil pizza. Both were tasty. I was hoping for more wasabi flavor on the salad but most people probably prefer the subtlety found in this one. The Sun devil pizza was also good because the crust had a good flavor and was cooked through.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Bartender at 1pm on June 12th absolutely rude and unprofessional not social in anyway. As a former bartender I feel terribly sorry for your business as you are probably giving more than receiving.
google avatar

Desiree D.

Yelp
Cute little place next to Kettle Black in downtown Phoenix. Quick service even when busy. Staff was friendly. The wasabi Caesar salad was tasty with just a hint of spice. The pizza had a good crust. A good option for pizza downtown.
google avatar

Tommy P.

Yelp
A few of us stopped in during a bar crawl over the weekend. We got some spicy mango margs which lived up to their name. The place has a fun vibe and jus big enough to feel like you're in a pub. We got an order of the meatballs (3) in a nice red sauce and it's served with toasted bread. We also got an order of fries with a few sauces for dipping. Man those fries were so good, the right amount of salt and crunch. The service was great and the space has good energy.

Natalie N.

Yelp
This pizza is so delicious and good service. The place is so cute and feels welcoming.

Yelp
I have never had a more delicious cocktail than The Grateful Gibb. For that alone, I would recommend this restaurant. The rest is just icing on the cake. Our server was sweet, efficient and friendly. Our margarita pizza was fresh, cheesy, and yummy. We were seated quickly, and got our drinks and food at a great pace, which is especially impressive because the place was packed! I was obsessed with the beautiful paneled ceiling - all of the decor actually was super fun. It's one of those places where they take a lot of elements that wouldn't seem like they'd go together, but it just works here and creates a fun environment.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
We enjoyed the burrata pizza and a wine before a show at the footprint center. We had the cauliflower crust and it was excellent. Service was good considering it was an event night downtown and it was very busy. Great vibe. Highly recommended!
google avatar

K A.

Yelp
Both times we visited, they were operating with limited menu options of only pizza and wings. Prefer they not share the full menu if only a few things are available. Although, Pizza was good and beer was cold. Waitress was nice.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Always love coming here. Went after our anniversary dinner to enjoy the suns game in a not so overcrowded place with great people and great drinks.
google avatar

O'Zandra F.

Yelp
Great place to stop and grab a quick bite. The staff were very accommodating. The food was fantastic. I tried the chicken panini with a salad. It didn't disappoint. There is street and garage parking nearby.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
First off, we wanted to try their one of their alcoholic beverages named after this place and they didn't even have the ingredients for it. I got a pizza and their pizza sizes are bigger than a personal pan but smaller than a small pizza that you find at a normal pizza chain like Pizza Hut. The pizza itself was pretty good; I found it odd that they put a glob of cheese in the middle and you have to spread the cheese on the pizza yourself. The place is pretty expensive and the service wasn't reliable. Our bill for 3 people came out to $96.45 (includes tax and tip).
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
Meatballs smelled yummy but it tasted as boring as it looked. Make bartender seemed unfriendly and uninviting.

Yelp
Such fun. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to make their first trip abroad

Yelp
My husband and I ate here on Date night. We were in downtown Phoenix for the Zac Brown Band concert. They were pretty busy, and I think our waitress was having a bad day. She kept forgetting about us and didn't check to see if we needed anything during our meal. But the food was good. I had the cheesesteak fries. They could have had more cheese because the toppings were just on the top of the fries. Once I got to the 2nd layer, it was just fries. My husband had salmon and mashed potatoes. He said it was very flavorful and cooked just right. For dessert, we had bread pudding (that's really why we picked this place ). It was so good!! I also "six byrd seasonal cider," which was a great fall drink. It had a spicy cranberry flavor. I highly recommend this place. We will be back, and hopefully, the service will be better.

Yelp
Dropped into Desmonds @ 4:30pm today and was greeted warmly at the door and seated quickly. Water was offered and filled and I ordered a Mojito with fresh mint it was delivered shortly afterwards. Silverware is rolled up in nice cloth napkins - another good sign. Silverware is on the table when you approach the table. Server asked about dinner and I ended up ordering a Desmond pizza - add sausage as well as a winter salad with a few changes. Both came out in appropriate time and were well presented. Salad was great - just a lot of it. Pizza was cooked perfectly and the toppings were great. Server talked me into a Creme Brule dessert, and it was also very good. Very nice early dinner in a classy place - near to the Renaissance hotel I am staying at this week.

Yelp
We ordered a pizza margarita pizza here and then we ordered a couple drinks and the margarita pizza really didn't have any flavor, but it was good

Yelp
I really like The Desmond! A wonderful new gastropub for downtown Phoenix. Popped in on a recent Saturday night for some wood-fired chicken wings, truffle pizza (garlic puree, fresh mozzarella, cremini mushrooms, parsley, parmesan cheese shavings, truffle oil), and drinks. Everything was first-rate and the service was wonderful. Only open since July The Desmond is an Italian bistro and bar serving Neapolitan-style pizzas and sandwiches on house-baked bread. Besides pizzas and sandwiches, there are dinner entrees such as a New York strip steak, grilled halibut, and a bone-in pork chop. I hope to come back soon and explore more of the menu! Small patio and elegant interior that reminds me of Europe. Perfect date-night spot.

Yelp
I went here for lunch today and I was pretty disappointed. My pizza took an hour to arrive and even so it was burned and nearly cheeseless. I was not impressed and I don't feel like I got what I paid for. Everyone was nice enough but I had to wait forever for my burned, cheeseless pizza. Not a happy customer.

Mari S.

Yelp
Went there a week ago - 4 of us total. While the ambience was nice overlooking the holiday decorations - the service was not good at all. We tried to take advantage of what we 'thought' was happy hour, but the waitress avoided us like the plague. None of the wait staff were congenial - you had to track down anyone who would make eye contact with you! It also does not help that the place only opens at 5:00. The food was 'okay' - not exceptional for the inflated prices. Based on our experience I would not recommend this place.

Eddie A.

Yelp
Decided to stop by this place and order the buffalo chicken pizza. Sadly it was drenched in buffalo sauce which in turn made it super salty. I must have used like 6 napkins to soak up the sauce. Service was great and ambience was nice. I should've gone with my gut instinct and ordered the margarita pizza. Maybe they can just use buffalo sauce on the chicken and not the whole pie itself. Good crust though.

Yelp
Very cool place to come get a drink. We didn't get any food cause we stopped by to have a drink before dinner and it didn't disappoint. I had one of the best old fashions i have ever had. The service was great, our server was very friendly and the ambiance was cool as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place... good atmosphere... good menu .. I really recommend the wood fired pizza's they are really good

Yelp
In town for work & wanted to try local pizza. This place was near the hotel so I gave it a spin. Sat at the bar & was immediately greeted by Kelly, who was amazing. She was very attentive & had me set up right away. She was almost anticipating every move of all her guests based on her reading of where they were in their meal - for a full bar of guests, I didn't see anyone go without. I ordered the pepperoni with soprasetta and a side of cheese curds with ranch and marinara (both on happy hour special!!). Pizza was crazy good! Thin crust, velvety cheese with a bit of spice from the soprasetta. Cheese curds were crispy & light - as good as the pizza. Glad I found this gem. I'd hit it...again.

Yelp
I have lived in AZ since 4/14/21. This was the best meal I've had since leaving Chicago. The Earl's Caprese is like no Caprese I have ever had (maybe because it wasn't Earl's). The prosciutto and roasted tomatoes made it so unique and delicious. The crostini made it seem like two appetizers in one. Dessie's burger was amazing! You could see the spices/seasonings in the burger. It was flavorful, juicy and tasted like somebody that loves me made it. I tried my daughter's Sweet Asian Chile wings and they did not disappoint. Everything was reasonably priced, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff was attentive, funny and very helpful. WE LOVE THE DESMOND!! PART 2: It's the next evening and we're back. We ordered the exact same thing. I discovered a SUPER useful perk in the form of outlets at the booths!! The manager recognized is and gave us free dessert! Again I say, WE LOVE THE DESMOND!!

Yelp
At The Desmond! Steven the owner is awesome!!!! Great food, great atmosphere!!! Had a really great time. Will be back!
