Can not begin to tell you how badly I was treated by store manager, Ashley. I NEVER write reviews, but my experience was so bad and the way I was treated was so unacceptable that I am compelled to let others know. I had returned and exchanged a lot of products. I have troubled skin, and for anyone with skin problems, you know how difficult it can be when trying to find new products that are good for your skin and finding out that they don't work for your acne. I thought that the ingredients in the natural skincare products that the Detox Market offers would be a good balance between making sure I wasn't drying out my skin with harsh chemicals while still being able to control my acne, but at least with the products I tried, I was wrong. I only really noticed my skin's reaction to the products after two weeks. So after I went in to return that line of products I had purchased, I was reprimanded by Ashley for returning those items (I had returned them on a previous day and NOT at that location) as well as the UNUSED items I was returning on that day. She said that I should have asked for samples, but like I said, it took my skin TWO WEEKS to show a difference while a quarter-sized sample of product lasts you two days. She continued to patronize me IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE STORE, saying how they care a lot about their products (which I completely understand), and that it is a lot of waste (again, the products I was returning that day had not been used, so it was not waste). I was exchanging the unused items for a different product, and Ashley told me that because I had so many returns and exchanges, the product would be final sale. Let me direct you to the Detox Market's return policy - "We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days from the shipping date or in-store purchase. Used or opened items can be returned for a store credit in the full amount paid for the item - including taxes." NOWHERE does it say that after a certain number of returns, that a product will be sold at final sale. I had a lot of store credit built up, and today I wanted to use the rest of it to buy my sister a birthday gift. Yet, when I went to the West Hollywood location (I work in Santa Monica, yet I drive way out of my way to the WeHo location to avoid the SM location), I was told that my gift card had been disabled. So my balance of $77 was gone. She had both called and emailed the WeHo store about me - "warning" them about my excessive returns and exchanges and saying that she had sold that particular product at final sale. I completely lost my money, due to Ashley deciding to make up her own return policy and attempting to extend it to other locations. Fortunately, the store manager at the WeHo location named Emilie was so understanding and even offered to give me a $25 credit to remedy the whole ordeal. I understand that Ashley cares about the products, but 1) final sale is not the Detox Market policy, and 2) patronizing a customer in front of the whole store is not the way you speak to a customer. I should know - I've been working in the customer service industry for over 5 years. If I decide that I'd like to purchase another product that the Detox Market sells, I will purchase directly from the brand. I will not be purchasing from this store again.
