Honestly was not that great of an experience unfortunately. The food and service just was not up to par. Really like the set up though and the way they rep our teams out here in Detroit. Lots of cool art and a nice setting just really needs to fix the service side of things. Order was wrong and everything...

5$ well shots, 5$ white claws. AMAZING mozzarella sticks. I went during a drag bingo hosted by Zooey Gaychanel which was super fun. Don’t think they host there anymore, but it was still cute.

The experience was AMAZING. Clyde, the cook in photo, cooks the BEST WINGS!! Lemon pepper and garlic parm, is the best to ask for. Although the wing quantity is small, it's totally worth it. The staff was the best, Tamara and Ellie B was very tentative. We flew here for wu tang concert which was postponed unfortunately, but this restaurant made my husband's night by playing all the wu tang hits. The vibe is super cool and family oriented.

Cool location with a porch. Food was fast and good. I tried the parm fries. I recommend them. Pretty sure I chatted with the whole crew, they were friendly and present.

Ordered the Detroit Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and homemade fries. It was superb, fresh and hot. Customer service is exceptional. Had a beer afterwards. Rt around the corner from me... yayyy

Came here on New Years Eve. The place was dead, but based on the reviews that was not surprising. We went in well aware of the bad reviews, but figured we could buy a drink and sit at a table. No way an experience that basic could be ruined right? Downtown was so loud and busy that I wouldn't have even minded waiting a few minutes for the bartender to notice and sell us a drink. We get the bar and are helped immediately. I order a beer and my wife orders a double vodka. They put two shots of Ciroc in it and charged $18 for the drink despite us asking for no such thing. It's New Years Eve, I get it, not going to fight with them about it. We go and sit down and not even 10 minutes later the other bartender walks up and accuses of of not paying. Walks back 2 minutes later and gets loud and makes a fuss. We held our ground and she backed off, but at that point we just slammed our drinks and left. Moral of this story? This place is hot garbage and should be avoided by everyone, even if you just want a cheap drink. This place needs to just quietly die and be replaced with a tenant that respects it's customers. There is no redeeming service this deceptive and awful, they are trained to do what they were doing on New Years Eve.

Came here for a beer before the Lions game. Asked for two buckets, realized we only needed one. So I asked for one. Beers were not cracked open. No big deal. However, Bartender didn’t even fill the bucket with ice. Bartender got extremely mad at me for asking for one bucket. Sorry, I work in customer service and I wouldn’t get pissed at Customer if they change their mind. Very rude place. Would not return. I tipped 30% because I felt bad for the guy. Tired of the attitude at food establishments and lack of professionalism.

Google
Bar staff here couldn’t handle a meager rush. Spent 10 minutes in line to order at the end of the bar before being told to go around to the other side. No capable manager in sight. Took 20 minutes to get a bucket of beer and a rum & coke. Management/ownership needs to train and staff properly.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever had a worse meal. We were here for the lions playoff game and it was busy but I don't think the food was even fully cooked. Also they had posters advertising a bucket of topo chico seltzers for $25 but charged me $36. Also the bathrooms are bad even for a sports bar. I can see why we were able to get a table so quickly. They also only had 3 waiters and maybe 3 bartenders that I saw for a packed bar. The energy of the fans was great though!

Yelp
This is a good place for reasonably priced food downtown. The staff is friendly. I ended up getting a cheeseburger, which was quite good. There is also a good beer selection. I could see the chef from where I was sitting, and he certainly was not in any rush to fill the orders, which was a little disappointing. If you're not in a time crunch, which I wasn't, the numerous TVs and windows looking out to downtown will keep you entertained.

Yelp
$45 for 2 meals that were shit and didnt fill us up. Dont fucking go here unless you like wasting money

Yelp
Dropped in after a game and totally surprised at the great service, good beer and a quesadilla with real grilled chicken. It was delicious! Jess and Brian were great. It's a dive bar but totally worth your while.

Laney A.

Yelp
Food was decent but service was horrible. Gave us wrong drinks and was high the whole time.

Steven N.

Yelp
I don't review often but this place legitimately has the worst service imaginable. The bartender did three shots while I was waiting in line. Waited 90 minutes for food before leaving. Rude staff. I'm not confident they have a furnace.

Yelp
Looking for a spot to grab a drink and a quick Nosh after visiting the winter market. The town was overrun with Spartan fans and we were having trouble finding a place with seats. Dejectedly walking back to our car - we spotted Detroit sports bar and grill and are we ever glad we did. They opened in early December - people are starting to find their way in. The upstairs was not open - we took a seat at the bar on the back side. Lots of tvs - it IS a sports bar. Also have a 1990's electronic sign with scrolling sports highlights. Evan was our friendly bartender who took good care of us. Hubby drank his Chardonnay while Katie and I enjoyed hot cider spiked with an apple bourbon and a hot chocolate with kahlua for me. Once we were warmed up - Katie went for bakon vodka with zing zang and I had pear grey goose with club soda. For the Nosh - Rick had a bowl of chili and Katie and I split some bbq wings. Menu is " American bar food " - wings, nachos, spinach dip, burgers, sandwiches - etc. Chili was very thick. Great for topping a hot dog - not recommended for a soup. Wings were fine. Meaty - not overcooked. Served with ranch dressing but no carrots and celery. Hey - they are new - carrots and celery next time. Pleasant conversation with Evan and other customers. The highlight was the row of comfy yellow vinyl seats with cup holders. I could spend an afternoon watching a ball game in those seats. Detroit Sports Bar and Grill is in the shadow of Ford Field and Comerica Park. Stop in before, after or during a game. I'll join you on the yellow seats!

Yelp
Stopped by this place and it was empty but we thought we would give it a try. Ends up this was a great choice! Our waiter was so helpful and the food was delicious! He recommended a local beer to try and it was fantastic. If you are in Detroit don't pass this place up!

Yelp
OK, this place isn't high on the list for quality or pizazz, but the staff was very friendly and we had a good time drinking a couple beers. The location is great, of course.

Yelp
Tatiana was not the friendliest bartender. She scrunched her face up so much while I was talking to her. I was not greeted when I came in either. They don't care abt the 6ft social distance policy either.

Adam P.

Yelp
Service was fine. Bar was pretty lame though, no people the whole St paddy's weekend, has a Weird vibe. Won't go again. Food was iffy.

Yelp
Coming downtown, enjoying another Detroit Team win or lose whatever is your flavor. Come out and check the Detroit Sports Bar and Grille. I appreciate the owner's changes it used to be circus themed and this is much better. Simple name, pretty straight forward like him, he is a great guy. We met bartender Julie she was so nice and attentive, she introduced us to the Manager Zack who was also nice to us. We will definitely be coming again. #GoDetroitSports

Yelp
I visited this establishment on Sunday 10 July. It had a sunny outdoor table area so we picked it over others. The staff obviously has no vested interest in the bar as the basics were not available or took effort ie. "I have to go to basement to get you an Ultra?? We only serve burgers but have nothing to put on them??? I spent 18.00 bucks on 2 cans of beer and 1 Miller Lite Bottle of beer and graciously gave the smiling laid back bartender a 2 dollar tip for almost nothing but his smile. Upon returning to the bar to get another beer, the 3 personnel working the bar were too busy socializing with 5 patrons to acknowledge I would like one more beer?????? After patiently waiting for 7 minutes to get someone's attention I left the place in disgust. The owner needs to take ownership of this place and provide adult supervision or sell it.

Yelp
Always a delight stopping in to stay awhile or just order some takeout. Prices are the best downtown as well as a well rounded menu and would recommend any of the meals. Close to all the downtown venues and a great choice for any occasion!

Yelp
We went for a late lunch and the service was really bad. Asked for a water twice and didn't get it, felt ignored. However the food was really good. Don't go if you are in a pinch for time.

Holly K.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a cocktail before our evening out. Nicest people, good cocktails, good location. Ended up staying for more than one drink!

Mackenzie W.

Yelp
Great customer service!! Drinks were great and the food was just what we needed while dt

Ann A.

Yelp
We decided to stop in after a Tigers game for a quick drink before heading home. Lorenzo was our bartender. He definitely made our visit more enjoyable! Really enjoyed our conversation with him. We will definitely stop in again before or after a game as it's a great location to the field.

Damon P.

Yelp
This place is great good prices on drinks and it's always a fun time when there's a tigers game.

Yelp
I would like to come back one day for lunch. Seems like I could have a better experience but Tatiana, the bartender was horrible when I went last night. She was so rude, she kept rolling her eyes and walking away from me while I was talking to her. She clearly hates her job.

Yelp
With a group of 6 mid August we stopped in late night (1:30 am) to have one more drink. Bartender very rude when we ordered. 20 minutes later, Instead of telling everyone last call, she came out screaming " get the f**k out, we're closed" continuously. Our party left and she turned to the other 5 tables and said "sorry guys, love you and didn't mean you". So apparently she only meant to be rude to our party of 6 quietly having one more drink. Don't go there! Too many other friendly and welcoming places in town

Yelp
I'm homeless. Was standing outside of this place trying to get a few dollars just so I could get a slice of pizza at a nearby place in order to use the bathroom. That was all I needed. The owner came out and tried to give me food and asked me to leave, which I was willing to do. Tried to explain to him I only really needed to use a bathroom and didn't need food. Guy flipped out on me and wouldn't let me explain. I lost everything to Covid snd only needed to use a bathroom. He told me he hoped my dog got hit by a car.

Yelp
Pretty incredible how dense the people running this bar are. It's bad enough they don't understand why playing loud music on their patio past 10pm is against city noise ordinance and a nuisance to the residents on the block, let alone past 2am on a Tuesday as it is now, but to do it when it is raining and nobody is out there anyways? These people do not deserve to be in business in this community.

Cali F.

Yelp
bartender barely acknowledged us or refilled our drinks, waited 20 minutes for one beer. ordered the chicken tenders and they were cold and chewy.
google avatar

Earl S.

Yelp
For a sports bar, there are no games such as darts, pool, or anything for that matter. Friday night 7:30 and the place is empty. Basic bar food at a high price with mediocre service. No sauce with the cheese sticks, cooked in oil not hot enough to melt it. Ordered beer, got the sticks and left. Good location, poor execution.

Maddie R.

Yelp
Came here yesterday before a 7:10pm Tigers game. Arrived around 6pm, left after 715 without our food or any indication of when the mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders we ordered were coming. Staff and chef were outside smoking for at least 20 minutes while we were just sitting there ticked off that we were late for our game and still hungry. Ended up just walking out despite already spending $25 on the food we never got. Will not be back.

Yelp
Old Detroit Ale tap line not cleaned and tastes like a milk-stout and the Cauliflower Wings where not cooked "fancy-dive bar". Thanks for the hospitality? Not coming back
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Barely anyone in there yet we could barely get service. Plenty of employees too. Had to get up and go get out napkins and silverware my self. No plates so we all just ate out of the baskets of appetizers we all shared. Cheese curds had no cheese Due to being over cooked, apparently the cheese evaporated. The wings were also overcooked and very dry, thank God we got our beer first. Onion rings were chewy and flubbery.

Yelp
Nice sports bar. Evan's a friendly bar tender. Nice bbq wings. Sit in the comfy yellow seats behind the bar.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! We were only in town for two nights for a concert and ended up coming here 3 times! They even opened several hours earlier than usual specifically for concert attendees. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. There is an excellent variety of beers on draft as well as a full bar with great cocktails. The food is delicious and has everything from small bites to full entrees. The GM is very hands on and will make sure your needs are met. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!!

Yelp
came here christmas week from nevada on a team trip and this became our go to place for that week. alyssa was awesome. we came back on christmas night. we were suprised they were even open! the kitchen was closed but alyssa and another guy (don't know his name but he had long dark hair) turned on the fryer and made our christmas night so much better. this was my first time in detroit and their hospitality showed me that i need to come back again! alyssa i look forward to listening to 90s alt rock with you again

Yelp
This place was good, but the best part was the bartender Aaron. He was welcoming, funny and entertaining. Great bartender. Thank you, Aaron:)
