17 Boston-Area Restaurants With Live Music

"Upstairs, chef Justin Urso slings burgers, empanadas, and other bites at the Blue Owl, with its sweeping views from the gorgeous rooftop deck. On the first floor at the Dial, check out the new outdoor patio and container bar, savor some global small plates, and grove to tunes from DJs and live musicians every Sunday through September." - Eater Staff, Nathan Tavares

Came with a group for dinner. There are two entrances. One from the botique hotel and the other from the side street. Lighting was nice and the bar/dinner area had a relaxing atmosphere. In the next dining area was a large mural that displayed the restaurant's international flare. Service was simply outstanding. We tried six dishes and dessert. The cranberry pecan salad with a maple vinaigrette was amazing. Green harissa grilled chicken was great. However everything was overshadowed by the vegetable japchae. I would come back to The Dial just for this. Currently not on the menu but you need to ask for it. To round out the meal was a Turkish Coffee Chocolate mousse. Also enjoyed their Basil Orgeat Lemonade and frozen Bailey's coffee. Highly recommended.

Great place for brunch! The portions was quite large for the price. French toast was awesome! —— Came back again for brunch. Great spot with lots of good and reasonably priced options. I really liked the frittata as well as the shakshuka. The servers are friendly and welcoming. It’s not too crowded in the mornings, so there is no wait time.

The food was great. Staff was friendly and we loved the vibes. Props to the DJ for the good music selection We went with a group of 5 for brunch. Everyone enjoyed the food and we’ll definitely be back. I ordered the Breakfast Sammy with egg, bacon, and avocado. I really enjoyed it. The brioche bread was great. I believe the eggs were fried over easy. When I bit into the sandwich, the yolk of the eggs ran down the sandwich and was soaked up by some of the bread. It was absolutely delicious. I also ordered the 907 G&T, a gin and tonic variation with orange and lemon. My friends ordered mimosas and said then orange juice was great, with pulp! I would come here again with a group or on a date.

Food This is a hidden gem and I want everyone to know about it. I did not expect the food to be this good, especially for a restaurant inside a hotel. The menu is small, but everything we ordered was great. The best dish was the fried soft shell crab. The spicy seasoning really bought the dish to life. Everything else The restaurant has a big patio and good amount of seatings inside. The waitress was very friendly and super enthusiastic about the restaurant, which always help improve the experience.

Excellent place for a casual night out with great vibes and delicious food. Recently took a visit for dinner with a friend. Based on the reviews saying that the food here was subpar, I initially didn’t have high expectations for their food. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that most of the menus we ordered were amazing. Hiramasa crudo was a solid start to the meal, and the parmesan rosemary fries were also good. The star of the meal, however, were the lamb ribs and the trofie. Lamb ribs were extremely tender, and I enjoyed its creative combination with the pomegranate glaze and cashews. Trofie was also very flavorful, and a slight hint of mint really enhanced its flavor profile. For the entrées, we had the carne asada and the fish and chips. They weren’t as good as the other two, but we enjoyed them nonetheless. Overall, this place certainly lived up to its hype on social media, and I would highly recommend trying them out for dinner.

Not my favorite restaurant of all time but still delicious! Lots of great options. We sat outside in March/April when it was still a little cold - which is on us, but the wait staff got us food quickly. They were super friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant is on point.

Honestly a little disappointed by brunch here. The food portion was quite small for 3 of the 4 dishes we ordered. We left hungry after spending $20+ per person for one appetizer and 4 entrees. The bunuelos were good and the dinner menu looks delicious but would not come back for brunch.

TL;DR: The service was nice but the food was sub-par. While the presentation was nice, the flavor was lacking. Service: Our server was Melissa. Melissa was a burst of sunshine on a slightly gloomy day. She was great at her job and I appreciate her. This review rating does not reflect her work. If anything, she brought it up. Food: Shakshuka - The eggs were overcooked and the tomato sauce is extremely bland. It seems like the tomato sauce comes from a can. This is fine but it should at least be seasoned a bit. I can tell that some seasoning was added to the sauce but you can't just put it in. The flavor needs to be brought out by cooking it. This dish could be fantastic if the sauce is fixed. Bostok - The berries were quite tart but this dish was overall pretty good. I honestly don't have too many complaints. This is a pretty darn good dish. Patatas Bravas - Just like with the Shakshuka, the tomato sauce is extremely bland. There's definitely some work that needs to happen with the tomato sauce. In addition to this, the potatoes were mealy. This suggests that we were served old potatoes. That's absolutely ridiculous, given the price. Don't serve old potatoes to people. Mealy potatoes are gross. The chef should be ashamed of this. P.S. - The coffee cups are very stained. It's very off-putting when drinking the coffee. I'd suggest either cleaning the cups more thoroughly or replacing them. Pic attached.
