The Dining Room restaurant

The Dining Room has a stellar reputation and going by Google reviews, exceptional in every way. And I will continue to beat that drum. I had the absolute joy of dining here last night. Meticulous attention to detail wove through the evening, through the food and service and ambience, pulling all the elements together into a work of art. The visual beauty of the food did not set you up for a disappointing mouthful. Every flavour and component was there for a reason and played off each other purposefully. My highlights were the truffle cheesecake with balsamic, the smoked cheese custard with Beetroot, the perfectly-cooked-melt-in-your-mouth venison and the rum poached pineapple cheesecake. I tasted many more from people at various levels of willingness to share and can vouch for the rest of the menu too. The value for money is worth mentioning as I left absolutely satiated, happy and not lacking anything. What a treat.

Really excellent meal for two. Highly recommended. ***** Crab and beetroot to start. Both had lamb main and one chocolate and one strawberry dessert.

Echo the reviews, the food was amazing, great taste, fresh, vibrant colours and the smell was mouthwatering. Great service from Donna and her team. Deserved of local and national accolades, Nathan Outlaw, Paul Ainsworth and Rick Stein need to take note.

Superb and challenging dishes, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Fabulous home baked bread with either a Clotted Cream butter or Marmite infused one. A trio of Amuse Bouche was a tickler to the taste buds. Crab was chosen by 3 and I had the Beetroot as a starter. Fabulous smoked cheddar custard with mine. 1 Sea Bass and 3 Venison followed. All dishes are a full frontal assault on the taste buds. Finished with each of the puddings. Coconut one was too sweet fo mu taste but the Hazelnut and Chocolate is a stunner.

Exceptional food at one of our favourite restaurants. Visited The Dining Room for the second time when visiting Cornwall from Kent and we both agreed that the food was 10/10 perfect. Would definitely return, a real treat for our anniversary. One of the best restaurants in Cornwall!

Wonderful understated restaurant with sublime food & service. Amazing value, couldn't fault any of it. The canapés & amuse bouche were a thoughtful & delicious extra.
