The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery Dinner Show - Buffalo, NY

It was an absolute blast!! I came with 5 people and none of us have ever done this before. The food was good and between the actors and everyone here it was a lot of fun, you can even get a suspect package and get someone is your groups photo involved in the act!! I’m definitely going to plan to come again with friends!

I had so much fun at this event. My friend was the one who booked it. I would definitely recommend this for anyone just looking for a good time out on the town.

It was a great experience! We went for my brother in law's birthday and the structure of it was well put! The actors really blended in as real people.

What an amazing experience! I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, but everything surpassed my expectations, and the whole staff was so lovely and welcoming! If you're a fan of murder mysteries of ANY variety, this is the perfect night on the town! I will definitely be coming back, and bringing more friends!

This was an awesome date night experience. The cast was very entertaining and enthusiastic. The story was incredibly thought out and presented. The inclusion of actors in the audience throws a great twist into things and keeps things very lively. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. Excellent job to all!

Had an office party here recently. Overall, the experience was fun. The actors really knew how to work the crowd. The chicken was a lil dry, but can't complain too much about the food. Good times.

The Dinner Detective is a disappointing experience. The show itself is juvenile and ultimately pointless. The dinner was substandard. Not worth the price of admission.

My wife and I and another couple went to the Dinner Detective on my 50th birthday this past Saturday (10/2). The overall experience was a lot of fun although the "plot" was a little weak and the food was definitely subpar. That being said, I would recommend going as we really enjoyed ourselves. The people at our table were all very nice and engaging and everyone enjoyed themselves a lot.

The actors and engagement were enthusiastic and funny. The story was a bit confusing, but the activity was great. My table had a great time interacting with one another- a big treat after the last couple of years. Good wasn't great but also wasn't terrible. Bar service was unbelievably slow and there was only one bartender.

This was incredible! the show was entertaining the whole way through. Typical conference food but over the top acting was an absolute pleasure! I would 1000% recommend this experience again and again!

My daughter treated me to the Dinner Detective show in Buffalo, NY on June 19, 2021. I was very excited as I have been to other dinner mystery/detective shows and thoroughly enjoyed them. However, this show was a huge disappointment. When we arrived in downtown Buffalo, there was no valet parking as advertised. As I am physically challenged, my daughter had to drop me off and find a parking spot blocks away in a not so safe neighborhood. We were seated at one table then had to move to another table. There was no raised platform for a stage. Many of the chairs had our backs to the show. The MC was the hostess who seated us--she welcomed us by reading a script. All in all, very disorganized. There were no creative costumes or props. Very boring. The plot was sophomoric, we figured out the killer immediately. We wrote a cute poem identifying the killer. It was never read. In fact, a gift bag was plopped in front of the "winner" with no explanation of why he won. At the other shows, I attended, all the correct answers were read aloud, then a winner drawn from them. This was totally a flop. The only good things were the actors (who didn't have a good script to work with) and the food. DO NOT RECOMMEND--DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

We had a great time didn't realize the killer was eating at the table with us. This is something interesting and fun to do for date night. The cast are funny and the food was good

The performance of the actors was good. The people at the table were engaged in the fun so it was awesome. The only issue I had with the event was entree and the dessert wasn't warm enough. If that wasn't an issue I would have given it a 5 star.

Overall it was a fun experience. The clues were tough and the food was okay (wished they would have served tea or coffee with dessert). The comedy and acting was well done. Don't go if you're uncomfortable interacting with strangers or being put on the spot. You are likely to be interrogated in front of everyone!

The show was awful. The actors were mediocre and the script was not laid out properly. They had the audience interrogate each other for a few minutes right after the show started, when we didn't even know what the crime was. People walked out of the show as it was so boring. The food was really bad. The appetizer was a tiny salad with a slice of bread, and dinner was unseasoned rubber chicken. I would not advise this dinner detective show. I've been to another in Florida and the standards was set high. Avoid it's a total waste of money!

Went to the show last night with my wife (8/10/19). We had a great time. Based on the prior negative reviews on Yelp, I had low expectations. Maybe they changed the cast or modified the script based on the feedback. Also, since there is a lot of improv and audience-interaction, the success of the night probably varies night to night and really depends on the quality of the actors and the people at your table. Bad news: food was fine but not great, and the wait for the cash-bar was generally long. Good news: the mystery itself was a good balance of "solvable" yet challenging; the actors we saw were really good and engaging. Overall, my wife and I laughed most of the night as did the whole audience. Great value for the price. Everyone at my table would have given the show 4 or 5 stars.

Did this in NYC and have to say it was very bad. It was quite boring and nearly 10 people got up and left early from our group. It wasn't laid out well and not very engaging at all. To top it off the food was bad. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unfortunately.

Horrible food from the appetizers to the desert awful. Show was boring we made the best of it but it just boring. One of the cooks came out the restroom and wow lets just say I waited for the next bathroom to be available. Do no waist your time or money.

Well they tried but it just wasn't done well. I barely had time to interrogate anyone maybe one person then during 2nd interrogation we were told to take a seat. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to give fake answers like my fake name. There just wasn't enough instruction and the interrogation started almost immediately after we arrived. No one at my table had a clue about what was happening and the interrogation questions made no sense to figuring out the crime. And the killer didn't seem suspicious till the end. Then there was the pitiful excuse they called food. The salad had a bit of flavor, I would have preferred more dressing. But the chicken looked like it came out of a frozen box meal with capers to disguise the lack of seasoning with a dollop of mashed potatoes on the side and a piece or two of I think squash. My friend said the dessert was Tiramisu but by then I stopped caring. When we left we caught a cab to go eat at BBQ's. Oh I forgot to add there was no air conditioning. Luckily this was not during the middle of a heatwave or else we would have passed out. And clearly no one cared about the dress code of: dressy casual (no jeans with holes, shorts, etc...), so that was a waste of time as well.

Had a blast! The actors were very talented and it was very funny! The food was great and the venue was beautiful! I intend to be back!

This was my first experience in the Murder Mystery Dinner and it was a lot of fun. The actors were great, the food was good and the bartenders were fantastic.

Such a great experience! Highly recommend. Excellent acting. Perfect for a "different" type of Saturday night with friends.
