On the Grid : The Dirty Bird

"Originally a food truck, The Dirty Bird is one of the most recommended places in my circle. A full step above your typical chicken and waffle joint, the flavours have a Canadian twist and rely on herbs more than simple sauces. If you must, their honey mustard sauce can add a good kick. First-timers should try their signature ODB: a perfectly cooked piece of boneless chicken (juicy inside, crunchy outside) served over a fluffy made-to-order waffle. Best enjoyed with an empty stomach, or with a friend from out of town; the portions are very large." - Charles Lim aka Ched

I recently visited this fried chicken restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed! The fried chicken and waffles were absolutely fantastic—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The cauliflower bites were surprisingly delicious as well, a great option for something a little different but just as tasty. I also tried their upgraded fries, and they did not disappoint—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. What really made the experience stand out was the service. The manager was so welcoming and attentive, making sure we were happy with everything. It’s clear that they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. From the food to the friendly atmosphere, everything was spot on. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great fried chicken with some delicious extras on the menu!

Google
The fried chicken burger made me wanna try out this place. The OG burger put up a good fight but it was just alright for me.... It's nice but not CHANGE YOUR LIFE kinda nice. The dirty fries IS THOUGH!!!! Somehow the mix of cheese and sauce is totally awesome. If I go again... the fries is a must!

Google
Amazing gluten-free fried chicken and waffles, plus the most delicious cauliflower bites and loaded fries. They have a separate fryer and separate waffle maker for all gluten-free foods, and the owner and manager are hyper aware of the needs of celiacs. They also have vegan and vegetarian options. The manager was super kind and made great recommendations for us. Portions were large and quite filling. The restaurant is very clean and has a great vibe.

Vegan /vegetarian / Gluten free options available. Impeccable service from knowledgeable staff eager to enhance your experience . My review delves into the attentive care and expert recommendations that elevate your visit at this store . Don't miss the opportunity to delight your senses with unbeatable service, and taste of chicken and waffles . Must visit store in Kensington Market if you exploring new places give it try .

Google
A unique little spot located in the heart of Kensington - great food, decent service (slow, but understandable given the crowd), mediocre ambience. The chicken and waffle sandwich (the big dirty) was a great combination of flavors (with the waffle adding just the right amount of sweetness). The dirty fries were some of the best that I've ever had, although they were extremely rich and indulgent. Will definitely visit again!

Google
Discovered this gem among the recommended spots in Kensington Market. Despite our initial hesitation due to being the only patrons at first, the atmosphere quickly filled with fellow diners. The food surpassed expectations with its delicious flavors, and the lady at the counter was lovely. While The Big Dirty was good, it could use a bit more spice. The ODB’s sauce was a standout, adding a perfect complement to our meal! A definite must-visit for anyone exploring the area.

Google
Food was flavourful, chicken was cooked well. The dirty fries were really good. We asked for all our sauces on the side, once we got home with the food we were missing sauces, one order had the sauce on the chicken, missing a side of fries and a side of coleslaw. (We drove far just to get this food so it was quite upsetting). We called but nobody answered. I also asked to use the washroom while there and unfortunately the scene in there was very unpleasant. If it’s going to look like that at least lock the doors and put out of service.

Google
Such a delicious place to grab chicken and waffles! Everything was super flavourful and super filling. The big dirty for $16.95 was super filling and could be shared between two people, with a delicious waffle and crispy chicken inside. The dirty fries were super delicious and filled with spice, and it is super filling for $9.45! The inside is small with a cute interior but with limited seats, but you can grab a seat when it's less busy or grab it for takeout and enjoy it at a park close by! It is in Kensington so it can get busy but definitely worth the wait! Also included a few vegetarian options on the menu!

Yelp
A very interesting place. Hearing Dirty Bird, my thought are another cliché stop where you can grab there "cool foods and drinks" but boy was I wrong. Food itself was great and fresh! Tasted well prepared. Service was alright, not the friendly but not rude as well. Felt like I was needed to rush to order what I wanted which I did not like. Spot was clean can't complain there. Overall Nice spot to grab some good food.

Yelp
Personally, it was good to great. The pairing of waffles with fried chicken is alright, but I would not go so far as to call it a perfect combination. I had an order of the Great White North. It had some sticks going through it to hold it up in place. Honestly, it seemed a little pointless. The chicken sandwich was too thick to hold with hands to eat like a burger. The waffle pieces, chicken tender, fillings, and veggies were also all separate items that do not stay in place or blend perfectly well. You might as well eat it separately. For service, it was a mixed bag. I commend that the person who took our order took kindly to our request of ordering a room temperature bottled water (not the one cooled and kept inside the chiller behind the counter). She went down to the basement to pick up a bottle. The very minor downside is that it took a while between the time our order was placed and when it was ready to be served. It is not really a big issue, but it is still worth noting.

Yelp
Heard great reviews about this place and decided to visit while on vacation in Toronto. I tried their vegan option "No Fowl Play" and it was amazingly delicious!!! The "chicken" is fried cauliflower. The sweet and spicy sauce adds an amazing flavor and takes the taste to another level! The waffles were great as well but I the fried cauliflower and sauce was a favorite. Combining the waffle and the fried cauliflower together was a great too and didn't even need the syrup. However the waffles alone needed it. Inside I ate my food at the bar which is standing only. I would've preferred to sit but I understand why standing is better for such a small space. Service was quick and employees were nice. Overall 5/5 and a great place to eat within Kensington Market area!

Yelp
This place has been here for a few years now, and it's a nice place to get some fried chicken and airy waffles. The place is clean, with high tables and chairs, not a lot of seating, but the staff are very friendly, and were helpful when we needed things like extra tissue. The food is nice, the waffle batter I would have liked to be a little more dense, I had a three year old with a good appetite and went through the whole waffle herself, and still wanted more... but she's good with 1 eggo waffle. But the airy texture is nice if that's how you like your waffles, I just like things a little more filling when I go out to eat. The chicken was well seasoned, and it was good quality meat, we also got the great white north which is 4 chicken tenders, on a waffle with spicy ranch sauce. The fries, I would probably leave out of my next order, I wish they used cavendish or something... but these were very similar to McCain regular fries, not very crispy, and they had that frozen potato texture. We ordered several dishes to go, but take out is a little mushy when we got the food home, if they have some time it would be nice to let the waffles sit for a few minutes before packaging them so the steam won't crumple them and make them soaking wet. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Came by on a whim this week for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by their fried chicken. We had the OG sandwich (boneless thigh, pickle, dirty aioli, waffle) and the ODB Signature (boneless dark meat, waffle, maple syrup, dirty sauce). The real star of the show is the fried chicken. The thin crunchy exterior reveals moist succulent juicy meat inside. Best of all, it is boneless so you can happily devour it without worries. I really like that they use dark meat, as I find it so much juicier and delicious than the usual white meat counterpart. The accompaniment of the soft waffle makes sense, as it provides a soft counterpart to the crunch of the chicken. The sauces were okay, but I found them to be mostly an afterthought to the chicken. Only negative feedback would be that they have standing room only counterspace for dine in. Be prepared to take out or eat standing up!

Yelp
The food is good but definitely overpriced. My boyfriend and I visited from Detroit and shared 4 items. The sandwiches are tiny for how expensive they are and the actual place is small. I was shocked at how cold it was in there given that it was 10 degrees outside and the heat should definitely have been turned on inside the restaurant. The service is okay, the girl who greeted us took a minute to get off her phone once we walked in and actually say hello. I won't be back as there are many other amazing places in Toronto where you get a bang for your buck! Also they need to clean the tables in between customers, crumbs and sticky tables are not a good look for new customers!

Yelp
Very good chicken and some of the best waffles I've ever had. I could eat them without syrup is how good they are.

Yelp
Fries are trash too much sauce, I don't like caramel taste. Service is misleading the vibe is decent for sure

Yelp
finally made a stop here to try the dirty bird and it was quite tasty! got an order of the dirty fries (well done so its hot, fresh and crispy!) 5/5 topped with fresh green onions & cridpy onions, cheddar cheese, and drizzles of their house dirty sauce & dirty aioli! these laused babies were sauced up nicely! i also grabbed the jerk chicken w.waffles sandwich. 2/5. flavours were aaaamazing! i loved the crunchy purple cabbage slaw. the only reason why i rate the sandwich itself a 2/5, is because both the chicken and waffles were not hot and fresh. its been pre-cooked and set aside...the chicken lost its crispiness and the waffles could've been toasted to get a crunchy bite too. it was overall soggy and barely warm. next time, ill be sure to request that my chicken be made fresh to get that hot crispy goodness!

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time Wednesday. We got their Wednesday special and it was fantastic. 2 sandwiches, 2 fries, and 2 drinks Went with the B Lo Chicken Sandwich on a waffle = tasted amazing and the sauce had a nice kick to it. Wife got the OG on a bun = can't go wrong with this one. Overall everything was great. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars for great reason. (...and yes we read the negative reviews first...buncha nonsense.) First off, the service was super pleasant and we received our food quickly. Everything was not only as expected but "as pictured" as well. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and whatever that sauce is is just the whole TRUTH . The dirty fries to top it off were just a straight bonus. This restaurant is one of many that we have completely enjoyed on this first family trip to Canada. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Delivery So basically I wasn't happy with 2 main things. First, the waffles were really soggy and undercooked. Second, the chicken was dry and it wasn't the best in terms of quality.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend afternoon and it was pretty busy. It's a small place but had adequate seating. I tried the ODB which comes in a boneless quarter leg, waffle and topped with a buttered maple syrup. The chicken was pretty delicious as it wasn't dry and had a great flavour. It also comes with a small side dish. If you are craving for fried chicken and waffles in Kensington Market, give The Dirty Bird a try!

Yelp
I had the Sticky Icky sandwich through Ritual and upgraded the buns to mini waffles. The sandwich was heavenly, I'm obsessed. When I first described to a friend the sandwich I had at Dirty Bird, she was concerned that the combination of fried chicken and waffles would be dry but I assure you, it was anything but dry. The waffles were moist and soft, the chicken was juicy and crunchy. The jalapeños added a nice kick to the whole combo. All in all, this sandwich was what dreams were made of. Especially at the price you're paying through Ritual's perks.

Yelp
I give this restaurant three stars. I went to the Dirty Bird Chicken + Waffles back in January. Generally speaking, I love fried chicken but I am kind of fifty-fifty when it comes to chicken and waffles. The staff at The Dirty Bird Chicken + Waffles are extremely friendly and welcoming. When it comes to the food, I did not like the fried chicken - I think it mostly had to do with the spices. The waffle was very good - it was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. For the side item I got the fries which was a big mistake. Not because they were bad (they were actually quite good) but because it was just way too heavy to eat chicken and waffles, and fries all in one meal. If I could go back in time I would have gotten the coleslaw instead - to balance out the flavours and add more texture to meal. I will not be returning to The Dirty Bird Chicken + Waffles but if you like fried chicken and haven't tried it, you should give it a shot. If you do try it, make sure to get the coleslaw as your side. Three stars.

Yelp
We waited around 15 minutes in the line during lunch hours which is pretty good, they have lots of options on the menu but because I'm not that hungry I went for a small sandwich. Who can resist maple garlic fried chicken plus jalapeños? Not me. I ordered the sticky icky sandwich which has all of the amazing elements I said above and it was so good. The chicken was so juicy and tasty, crispy yet tender. The maple garlic sauce is amazing and the jalapeños pepper added a kick to the sweet sandwich. This is better than any sandwich I have tried before and I will come back in the future for this for sure. Why did I take one star off? Because of other than the food I had I didn't like anything else of the place. first of all they forgot about my order, so many ppl after me got theirs and I had to eventually ask them so they could start my sandwich for me. Second, they didn't ask me if we want to eat here or to go and directly gave me a box instead of the tray, it is really hard to eat from it. The sandwich is sloppy, and instead of the foil they have around the sandwich in the poster they hang in the store; they give u a piece of paper which helps with nothing. Also the store need more seats, even have some seats outside would be helpful because TD tiny inside.

Yelp
This has to be the worst fried chicken I've ever eaten. Greasy and heavy and tasting more like fried beast than fried chicken. The macaroni salad was bland. I would never eat here again.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Been wanting to go here for awhile, and it was pretty good! It's not a dine-in, sit down restaurant so be prepared for that. The chicken was really tender and the waffle was sort of crispy. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side because most of it was really soggy from the sauce, but still good flavours nonetheless.
google avatar

Yelp
The sandwich was delicious! The chicken was very juicy, waffle was perfect , and love the nice kick with the jalapeño pepper. Definitely try again

Yelp
I had a late lunch today at The Dirty Bird. It's a small but popular spot. I was hungry and ordered the three piece meal and a Diet Coke. It was okay. I could taste something hot/spicy on the chicken plus cinnamon. It took a while so I'm assuming it was cooked to order.
google avatar

Nneka M.

Yelp
Honestly, probably the best chicken and waffles I've ever had...like ever... The chicken was succulent, well marinated, and fried to absolute greatness. The waffle was soft and fluffy, yet with crispy edges. The buttered maple syrup was the perfection of savory and sweet, and was delicately swirled with scotch bonnet ranch dressing that coated my chicken. Now the only draw back...this place is small, so be quick with seating. And the place to put your empty tray is very limited, so it can cause an unsightly pile up of trash. Otherwise, perfect for breakfast-brunch and late night eats, strategically placed in lovely-hippie chic district of Kensington market.

Yelp
I believe the ultimate comfort food is fried chicken. I enjoyed the OG chicken and waffle combo. The chicken was perfect and the waffle was the right texture. I did not enjoy the fries however and felt like I was waiting a while for the food. I mean good fried chicken does take some time to prepare. I did also enjoy the red hot sauce, goes great with the chicken. Overall I thought it was a decent experience.

Yelp
It's a 3.5 leaning more towards a 4. I really love chicken so I'm really glad my boyfriend found this place on Yelp. Sadly, I do have to echo the other reviews and say that the seating and service is really disjointed. No one is mean but it's slow and confusing service. The bathrooms are disgusting. Seating is cramped and the restaurant is boiling. I think I misread the menu because I never got a waffle with my order. I ordered the maple chicken bites and a leg. The food was excellent though. I really loved the simplicity of their fried chicken. Since I'm not a fan of overly seasoned chicken, this was right up my alley. Crispy, warm, juicy. Really really good. The maple chicken was a bit too suggary but still good. I'd recommend coming here and exploring the rest of the surrounding restaurants because they had so many good options in this area! Visited July 1st 2017

Yelp
3.5 stars. The bird's the word, the bird bird bird, the bird's the word. Yeah I just felt like finally be able to write that. Came here before an event so I wanted something to tide me over so ordered the dirty fries. Then my friend came along and ordered some chicken so I had a piece of that as well. The menu while limited is tight - meaning no frou frou stuff - chicken (sandwiches, waffles, dirty fries). I hate when a menu is overwhelming - do a few things but do them well. The fries were hot and not greasy and were enough portion size wise for the price. The piece of chicken my friend gave me was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - exactly what you want from your neighbourhood fried chicken. For the prices you can't go wrong - for 3 pieces and a side is about $10. The restaurant itself is tiny - only a few small tables and one long bar like table by the side - I think maybe max 10 people can fit inside. I'm sure it must get busy but I did see a lot of people come in for take out.
google avatar

Yelp
Fried chicken sandwich is so popular these days, it is difficult to make a truly outstanding one. The Dirty Bird Chicken+ Waffles also did not succeed in doing so. The fried chicken was juicy only because it was dark meat instead of white meat, the batter was not particularly crispy. The waffles were okay, I would like them to be a little crispier. The pickled cucumber slices were not sour enough to stand out but it did provide a crunch to the sandwich. The aioli on my O.G. sandwich was good but I preferred the syrup I poured on the chicken more. It is a small restaurant and when we arrived for lunch just before noon, there were only two people working and they were busy taking care of the delivery orders. It took almost 10 minutes before one of them was free to start taking dine in orders and another 10 minutes before we got our food.
google avatar

Elaine O.

Yelp
This place definitely exceeded my expectations of the infamous chicken and waffles meal. Heard about this place and while in the area, finally decided to try it out and I was not disappointed. Came on a weeknight and it was a bit busy with not much seating so it was difficult to find seats at first. Although the menu was a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. I ordered the ODB chicken and waffle, with buttered maple syrup, and felt that it was a great combination of sweet and savoury. Their waffles were nice and warm, while the chicken and sauce added more flavour. I chose fries as my side and they were a pretty large portion, I could not finish the meal itself as it was super filling. I would definitely see myself coming back if I were craving for more chicken and waffles!

Yelp
If you want some yummy fried chicken, this could be your spot. HOWEVER, If you want to sit down for your meal you're probably better off going elsewhere. This place is pretty small and seating is limited and not too comfortable (think small high barstools and sticky countertops). My friend ordered the OG chicken sandwich and substituted the buns for mini waffles. I ordered the two piece combo with fries. Our food took 35 minutes to be ready, which seemed very long considering it's a fried chicken joint - don't most places have some chicken already fried and ready to serve? I guess this place makes it fresh, but be prepared to WAIT. There were a couple of people who seemed to have ordered their food beforehand and were coming to pick it up, but had a long additional wait time at the restaurant because it wasn't ready. We saw at least two people complain to the cashier about how long their food was taking while we were there. The chicken itself was well-seasoned and juicy. The side of fries came in a very generous portion, but the individual fries were very short and small for some reason, and I wasn't a huge fan of that. My friend's sandwich was tasty but a smaller portion size, and would probably not be enough if you have an appetite bigger than that of a 100lb girl that doesn't eat much. Luckily for her she is exactly that so it was fine in our case lol, but just a warning to others, you'll probably need to get a side too. Overall the food was worth its price, BUT it was not worth the wait or the poor seating. I would come back if I order way ahead and take the food to go, but otherwise there are better places to get a meal in the area.

Yelp
Heard mixed reviews about Dirty Bird, so I decided to try it out for myself. Went on a few occasions and had different items: The ODB (Boneless Quarter Leg, Waffle, Buttered Maple, Dirty Sauce), dirty tenders (chicken tenders), and dirty fries. The store has a contemporary appearance although there is very limited seating. The service is pretty fast and efficient, including if you get takeout. You can place orders in advance as well. But If you decide to wait, the food is still prepared quite fast and is fresh. AND you get nice little take-away boxes and cutlery to eat on the go. The staff are also very helpful and friendly and are happy to answer any questions and make suggestions. However, I am not that big of a fan of the flavours. The chicken, while not oily, tastes extremely deep fried. The food is fresh but it tastes very processed. The chicken is crispy, but flavours seemed heavily masked in my opinion. I also don't really like the sauces that much, and you do not really get to choose what sauce you want (though I have not asked if I could change the sauces). The food is also quite heavy. It is very filling and you definitely get value for the food (despite not looking like it's a lot - it is a lot). The macaroni salad was pretty good I have to say. That being said, the prices are on the more expensive side. I paid close to $20 for the ODB which is a bit much for a lunch. In all it's not bad, but it's quite pricey. Perhaps a sit down experience opposed to takeout would be different.

Yelp
CUSTOMER SERVICE: The staff that I spoke with wasn't very helpful when I asked what would they recommend for first-comers. He just said the name of the order and didn't explain about the order. FOOD: I ordered the ODB. The portion was worth the cost. The Waffle separately was very crisp and delicious. Fried Chicken was of course so good and crispy. I loved the syrup, not too sweet and it came with their dirty sauce. All those three together was such a good mixture. My mouth was just exploding with different tastes and textures all at once I would highly recommend this place for first-comers. And when I come back to Canada and visit Kensington Market, I would consider coming here.

Yelp
Got the classic chicken and waffles which was delicious! The seasoning paired perfectly with the sweetness of the syrup. For more reviews and pictures of restaurants in the GTA, check out @MenuPictionary on Instagram!

Yelp
I'm not normally a fan of sweet + savoury, but I'll be damned if dirty bird didn't give me a run for my money. We got the great white north which has 3 piece chicken tenders, waffle with buttered maple syrup, ranch dressing, and potato salad. This is the epitome of what chicken should be: crispy, flavourful, tender, and juicy. Everything is made on the spot, so your food is guaranteed to be hot and fresh out the kitchen. There is pretty limited seating inside the restaurant. I would recommend grabbing everything to go, or come during off-peak hours.
google avatar

Sheila C.

Yelp
Average experience here. I heard that when they first opened, their fried chicken was flawless. This experience was a bit more flawed. Chicken was marinated and was flavourful, but it was overfried. There was a dark colour on the crispy chicken. Given that we ordered with a voucher for two, we were not allowed to switch out the side to get fries even with an additional pay. So we chose the other sides...glad that I chose the mac salad because the other side slaw was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, the voucher was a steal and super good for the price, but I probably wouldn't be paying full price for this kind of service and chicken!

Yelp
Location/Service Right in the heart of Kensington Market. Street and a small lot of car parking is available. Also readily accessible via TTC. Restaurant is relatively small with high bar tables. Staff were friendly and nice and fast with the order. Food The Dirty Bird'ger. Essentially a chicken waffle in a sandwich style. Mini waffles are used and it's filled with a boneless chicken thigh topped with lettuce, tomato and dirty sauce. The sauce is what makes this amazingly good, especially for the chicken as thighs can get pretty dry. We also added in the Dirty Fries, which goes well with the dirty sauce or ketchup. Nice compliment meal between the two. The ODB. similar to the burger, but it's in a larger portion and an actual chicken waffle style and not a sandwich. Again, the dirty sauce gives a kick (cause it's a little spicy) to the meat and the maple makes the waffle extra tasty. Overall a very nice first visit and it's good for people dropping by for a quick meal or if you're adventurous to share.

Yelp
This place is simply amazing...I woke up craving more! Chicken and waffles was always something I convinced myself was satisfying and then I'd order it at a restaurant and find myself disappointed. I would try and try and continued to subject myself to heavy, dry, chicken and waffles that left me with a stomach ache. Dirty Bird is everything I always envisioned chicken and waffles to be. Light, crispy, tender, the perfect sauces to compliment both the chicken and the waffle. I left satisfied, feeling light almost to the point where I could have shared an extra plate. Delicious!

Yelp
TLDR: Fried chicken and waffles. That's all you need to know. ____ Straight from the airport I came here. First meal in Toronto and I was not disappointed. It's not a huge spot, but lucky we were here on an off time and managed to snag some seats easily. At the recommendation of the cashier, I got the ODB. Fried Boneless Thigh & Leg, Waffle, Buttered Maple, Dirty Sauce. The sauce is an asian inspired sweet and semi spicy sauce. It's perfect. Amazing waffle too, fluffy and a really great flavor to it. Side of macaroni. It's a cold macaroni salad, and it's delicious. This is a large meal - I left stuffed! On the way out the cashier remembered our names and said, "Have a good day Blue & Kris!" - that level of customer service is rare. Coupled with the great food, this was an amazing experience.

Yelp
Need I say more? I didn't want this to end! So damn good! Everything was warm and delicious!! Small space but we both had a seat and could eat inside. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was no wait

Yelp
3 to 3.5 stars for here. Came here a while back but was too in a rush to want to wait in line. This time I got here a bit earlier. Like most places in Kensington, it's a tiny place with limited seating. Ordered the O.D.B. they were out of the accompanying salad so we got fries instead. The chicken is quite good. Nicely fried and I thought the sauce was tasty. Sweet and a little bit of spice. The chicken was a little dry in places though which combined with the waffle seemed even more dry. The fries were very average.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 30 right before closing. They kept the kitchen open until we ordered, ate, and hung out for a bit. 5 star for the customer service. We ordered the chicken & waffles, dirty fries, and wings. Everything was amazing. We came back the next day just to try out the chicken sandwich which was bomb. 5 star for the food. If you're in the area, you should definitely check this place out.

Yelp
Had the Up North Trip (3pc bone-in, waffle, buttered Maple with mac salad, slaw or 'tato salad) for aroound $16. Chicken was average. Unseasoned thick batter and it was quite greasy. Looking at the Yelp photos, seems like the pieces of bone-in chicken are variable. Today we had 2 drumsticks and 1 thigh, but I see that people have had 2 thighs and 1 drumstick before. Waffle also quite average. Not crispy. The maple syrup is already poured onto your waffle. Mac salad was underwhelming and really was a bland macaroni concoction. I prefer Cluck Clucks near St. Lawrence Market although the wait time there can be quite long as they make the orders one by one.

Yelp
This restaurant is in Kensington market. With so many different funky restaurants around, it may be easy to miss this gem. We ordered the fried chicken with waffle for a light snack. The chicken was crisp, and the waffles were perfectly soft. Would definitely recommend !

Yelp
First time trying their chicken waffle sandwiches (7.95/sandwich, 0.95 to change from bun to waffle). So I picked the maple syrup chicken waffle with jalapeno and pickle Chicken is nicely glazed with maple syrup. I don't doubt the crispiness. Pickles and jalapeno tho, they were all in the bottom and I would prefer sauces more than actual pickles/jalapenos. The sandwich is pretty dry. Should put more mayo or probably put some coslaw inside.

Yelp
Had dirty bird for the first time and it was amazing. I had the dirty fries and added chicken tenders and it was extremely tasty. I highly recommend getting food here and trying the dirty fries along with the other food items. I will try some other options too.

Yelp
I have no idea why some people give 4 stars instead of 5...maybe I am just generous or maybe Im not cheap with my stars...they are Unlimited right? Gulp... I hope so. Even if they were not Unlimited I would give this place a SOLID 5 STAR rating. I came here with a group of friends after we finished a 3 hour workout so we were definitely Starving! Yes yes spare me the "you ate fried chicken after a workout?" judgement and I can tell you that "HELL YES WE ATE FRIED CHICKEN AND WAFFLES AFTER A WORKOUT!!" We all ordered the ODB and I think one of my buddies ordered the Great White North....it was all a blur because once that Chicken and Waffle touched our lips it was over. We all went from a chatty group to a silent movie giving each other stares of approval and thumbs up to the one buddy who suggested we devour chicken and waffles after our killer workout. Im telling you that those waffles definitely helped our GAINZ! Perhaps the best part about this experience is while we were eating they turned on some tunes and T Pain and Akon were bumpin in the place!!! Needless to say.... I will be back !!! Ssoo sooo dirty dirty delicious! A Cluckin good time I tell u! Make sure u Waffle on by! (insert pun here)

Yelp
the dirty fries are genuinely disgusting, there literally is no sugarcoating it. whoever thought this was a good idea for a menu item needs to go back to the drawing board and really think about life because damn, its that terrible

Yelp
My Besties and I were so lucky that we unintentionally found this restaurant. We were literally walking through the Flea market trying a few of the eateries and definitely saved the best for last. When I say looks can be deceiving. The restaurant is very small. However, we arrived at a good time and was able to eat our food comfortably. We ordered The Dirty Club which consisted of three fried chicken strips, a waffle and a side. All I can say is that chicken made you want to slap somebody. The chicken was crunchy, spicy and juicy. Just how we Southerners like it. The waffle even had a slight spicy kick. I can't give the restaurant 5 stars because it was not clean. We used Clorox wipes to clean the counter we ate on. There was trash on the floor and trays everywhere. Maybe we had just missed the lunch rush/crowd. I'm not really sure. Thankfully, that did not stop us from giving the restaurant a try.

Yelp
I won't order from here again. There were about 5 problems with this order, mostly because of Doordash. It was SO BAD that I'm DONE with Doordash. I complained and was basically told too bad! (I've ordered about $610 worth of food from Doordash in the last 16 days, and a previous order was missing part of an item, so they credited me $4.17. That was fine - but I guess they say you are (&^* out of luck with a second complaint - even after ordering over $600 from them in about half a month. Goodbye Doordash. I hope you choke. And aside from the Doordash driver being the FIRST delivery person out of MANY who didn't even TRY to find my front door, and after getting the order LATE because I watched him on the AP stop at at least 2 places as he was on the way to me - the order was ICE COLD. Ice! So I heated up the cold chicken and was REALLY NOT impressed. Maybe their chicken flavor is an acquired taste - but it's certainly NOT for me, and the thigh was BLACK! I'll never be ordering from them again. The taste was ?? and the batter thin and meat was a bit dry. My dogs liked most of it though. I tried this place because I was hoping for a great chicken sandwich like I had a few days ago from Birdhouse. But Birdhouse was closed, so I made a mistake of trying here. The sandwich from here on the Martin's bun was just fair. I didn't much like the bun, and the chicken was just OK. It was supposed to be a dark meat sandwich, and the meat was only slightly moist. I won't try it again. PS: Doordash - you can eat my shorts. PSS: Why doesn't Doordash have a page here on Yelp where we can tell them how much we love their service?

Yelp
This is a long over due updated review. I actually gave them a chance again last year and ordered the OTB and it was delicious (I dined in). I remember the chicken was crispy and juicy! Yesterday we ordered take out , 3 pieces of chicken with fries and it was pretty tasty even though it wasn't fresh and hot (we drove for about an hour). The fries looked quite burnt but for some reason it was still good and addictive and I couldn't stop eating them! So they must be doing something right ! When there's a chance to dine in again I'll definitely go back and next time will try their dessert as well.

Yelp
I have been meaning to come here and get some fried chicken waffles for some time. Finally decided to try it out. I was super hungry, 2pm brunch. Ordered the ODB and chicken tenders. The ODB is waffle with fried chicken. They made it so the chicken was bbqed which made the taste awkward. It didnt amaze me. The chicken tenders were too dry but the sauce was very good. I've had other fried chicken and waffles at other brunch restaurants which i thought were all better than this place. I recommend trying the place but i wouldn't be a regular of the dirty bird.
