Historic North Bay Dive to Close as Another Mounts a Major Comeback - Eater SF

"Historic North Bay dive bar the Dirty announced plans to close this week, as beloved wine country watering hole Pancha’s shared details about an upcoming reopening. The bar’s closure comes after a string of legal disputes between owner Cody Brown and landlord Sam Young, who sold Brown the bar and leased him the building in 2019. The two were also partners in San Francisco’s porn-themed bar Kozy Kar — a bar that has made headlines several times in recent years largely due to Young’s antics, which have included making jokes about date rape and quitting his job to become an erotic dancer. In any case, Brown and Young exchanged a flurry of legal blows since 2022 culminating in the bar’s closing at the end of next week on March 1." - Lauren Saria

Closed early today. (Mon 11/20) but by far my favorite dive bar. Amazing bar tenders that are quick and responsive. Crowd is younger than most bars in the area. Piece as always is low to average.(as expected for dive bar.

Well. It certainly is dirty. Lol. Tables were always gross and filled with empty dirty glasses. Interesting crowd, very VERY friendly people. Like almost too friendly to the point where I can't walk across the room in peace with my girlfriend without being asked about my entire life story. Part 2: After seeing the establishment's response I've decided to add some things since their sass knows no bounds. I shouldn't have to ask the staff to do their jobs...? That's like asking for a cup with my drink. By "friendly" I politely meant "drunk as heck". Over serving at a dive bar? What a concept. And just to really top off the cake; a sassy, unapologetic response from the establishment themselves! Someone give these guys a gold star. Oh wait. I think I will. 👌 Bravo on that life choice.

The best parts of a dive bar without the negatives, what's not to love? It's never too packed and people are chill, management listens if there is a problem with a patron. It's a super diverse and accepting crowd. What's not to love?

Read a few reviews about how rude this place is, and I second that. Went there there bar back was rude when I asked for a drink. I asked him, can you tell the bartender I'm trying to order a drink. He said we're crowded, which it wasn't. I'm the only colored person standing right at the bar, but nobody sees me or acknowledged me after making eye contact. You know who's standing at bar/ who doesn't have a drink. Felt like this place will serve you quicker if you were white, being it's Santa Rosa. But oh well. That's just how it goes. Won't be going back to this place that's for sure.

This isn’t the dirty bird anymore, they are trying to clean it up and make it yuppy like the rest of Sonoma county, it’s just the dirty? No thanks. If at the minimum they could at least restock used heroin bags in the toilets to pee on. Will not return this establishment is dead to me and many more people like me
