"While you can certainly order a great cocktail at this Main Street bar, it’s the expansive rotating beer, wine, and cider list that has cemented the Dirty Truth’s presence as a NoHo staple. Many Smithies start their evenings out by enjoying mixed pickles, burgers, mustard-slathered soft pretzels, and other turned-up pub fare, before working their way back toward campus." - Nat Belkov

It'd been about 4 years since I'd been here, and holy SMOKES, these prices are inSANE. They used to have a $6 special once a week that me and a gf would go to semi-religiously. A beer from their printed out, limited selection, and a pint cup full of fries. IT WAS THE BEST. Their entrees didn't break the bank either. Now, last night for dinner... I reiterate, wowza! $20 for a tofu (yes, tofu) sandwich that came with like, 13 fries. Is there a potato shortage happening that I'm unaware of?? Delicious yes, but let's not deny this absurdity.

Google
It doesn't disappoint. The food, beer and cocktails were expertly curated and crafted. They pay attention to details that matter. Something I don't say often but shouldn't be understated, all of the staff appear to love what they do and take pride in delivering their best. I felt very much at home there even though it had been too many years since the last time.

Google
Loud bar. Not my kind of place. Not the easiest menu to pick from in my opinion either. Parking was not the easiest. The service wasn't the best. The seating was not comfortable and my food was dry.

Ive been coming here many years now and I will say it’s my top choice for vibe and drink selection. There’s a few things that will keep me from going anymore (lots of other good spots to choose from): the prices have gone up dramatically (like everywhere) but the portions and quality went down. I love the fried chicken sandwich but $20 and it’s small and comes with like 5 fries?? No thanks. Ordered a beer and there was quite a bit of foam, which fine is it’s a high life but not a $14 10 oz beer. Then such a small pour of wine for $14 a glass—the lowest price wine. Overall just not worth it anymore :( yet another place only rich people can go.

I had always wanted to eat here! I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, and it was so good. The honey fig spread was a good touch. I ordered a side of Mac + Cheese that was very good. There is outdoor seating limited to an hour and a half. Reserve your spot before going! Update: I took my best friend here for dinner, and we had the fried tofu burger and the fries with aioli. It was super good! I ordered sour which was super good! I forget the name, but they rotate anyhow so just choose one that sounds good!

Google
They have a wide variety of beer which is good, and the atmosphere is also great. However their food....isn't so great. I would avoid the Bahn Mi and try more traditional american dishes like the burgers.

I am a resident of downtown Northampton and I had been meaning to give this place a shot for months and I'm glad I finally did. I love bars with lowlight ambience and the draft options are spectacular. The French Fries here are exceptional and they give you a lot. The service was very friendly and I will be returning again for sure.

Google
My favorite late night spot for excellent dinners and snacks. The bar selection is unique and will leave you wanting to come back week after week.

Yelp
The Dirty Truth is a craft beer bar that opened in Northampton, Massachusetts in June 2006. It was founded by restaurateur and bar owner Daniel Lanigan. In the 1990s, Lanigan worked at The Other Side bar in Boston and within a few years he took over the beer program. By 2002, he opened his first craft beer bar, The Moan & Dove, in Amherst and it quickly became a top destination for beer lovers in the region. At one time it was even named the best beer bar in the country. Four years later, Lanigan opened his second beer bar, The Dirty Truth, in downtown Northampton. Lanigan would go on to open other beer bars in Brooklyn, Baltimore and Boston before he opened his own brewery, Lord Hobo Brewing Company, in 2015. He sold off interests in many of his bars, and today The Dirty Truth is owned by long-time employee turned business manager Kyle Anderson. The bar still has an impressive selection of craft beer on draught and in bottles, but also serves natural wines, cider and craft cocktails. The bar also has an excellently curated food menu with dishes that will pair perfectly with the beer selection. I recently visited The Dirty Truth for the first time while I was cycling Northampton's vast network of bicycle trails. Although it was my first visit, the bar has been under my radar for quite some time. I arrived not long after they opened for lunch and grabbed a seat at the bar. I was actually served by owner Kyle Anderson himself and we had a nice chat about beer during my stay. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Burger" (Poplar Hill Farm ground beef, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce, sweet pickle, house brioche bun) with a side of "Handcut Fries" (aioli, ketchup). It was seriously one of the BEST burgers I've ever eaten! Anderson told me that the burger has been on the menu since they opened in 2006 and they've had plenty of time to perfect the recipe. The bar had a special Brasserie Cantillon event the night before and they still had some of the beers available. While I had never tried a Cantillon beer before, I heard nothing but great things. I ordered pours of both "Rosé de Gambrinus" (Raspberry Lambic) and "Sang Bleu" [Camerise] (Blue Honeysuckle Berry Lambic). Both tasted amazing and were just bursting with tart berry flavors! For dessert, I ordered some "Coffee Ice Cream" (almond biscotti, luxardo cherry) which was way better than any other coffee ice cream I've ever had. Anderson let me try a sample of Bright Ideas Brewing's "Rum-Barrel Aged Quaffable Waffle Banana" which paired well with my dessert. I had an excellent visit at The Dirty Truth and I look forward to returning!

Yelp
The food is euphoric... it warms the soul Kind of food! The service is calm yet attentive and refreshing. I could be here all day listening to their playlist and enjoying my Bloody Mary and cafe con leche!

N H.

Yelp
Everything is perfect: food, service, beers, cocktails, and desserts!! Don't forget to order fries, you won't be sad.

A. S.

Yelp
Very "foodie" style, but always good. The service is unique and anyone kind of takes care of you. And the best setting is the ambiance/setting, made to be cool.

Hannah H.

Yelp
Limited in their drink offerings (I believe they only serve beer and wine), but they do have some tasty food. Check the fries out- big, fluffy steak fries. Yum! They have really friendly employees and also plenty of outdoor seating (during the non-frigid days) which is especially beneficial during a global airborne pandemic. Lots of good things here: food, drinks, staff, vibes.

Catherine S.

Yelp
We ate lunch at The Dirty Truth. The locally sourced lettuce came with raw radishes and homemade red wine vinaigrette. We also added a side of fried chicken. The dish was excellent, the lettuce tasted fresh and the vinaigrette just right; the fried chicken was tasty, crunchy outside and tender inside. A perfect combination. Great staff and service. Will come back.

Yelp
Had made reservations for 6:30 Saturday night and only outside was available online. However we arrived around 6pm and were able to switch over to inside thankfully because it was a fairly cold evening (Halloween weekend). The service was wonderful. The hostess was super helpful and our server was terrific. They had a nice little selection of beers, but also other cocktails (they utilize lower alcohol beverages to create them because I think they don't have a liquor license...so don't take your dad who only drinks Crown Royal LOL). We got a bunch of little things, and I specifically had the cauliflower and the octopus dishes. The cauliflower was roasted and had lots of lovely spices and oils...I'd say it's good but not my favorite. The octopus, however, was absolutely wonderful, in a rich garlic oil (and I'd guess butter as well but could be wrong) and I'd come back to order that again and again!

Yelp
I have been coming to The Dirty Truth since their opening some years ago. The food has always been a bit elevated and the drink list extensive. Prices always hovering just under "too much". I stopped in last week for a small meal with my spouse. We ordered the fries (a staple at Dirty Truth) and the Napa cabbage salad. The French fries are overly greasy and overpriced. The dip selection: house made ketchup, IPA mustard, and house made aioli are still great. The cabbage was amazing and I wish I could give that dish 5 stars. I took two stars from the rating not only because of the French fry and menu price problems. We placed a reservation for 2 at 5:30 on a Tuesday. We arrived on time, ordered and ate promptly, and were just signing the check as the host came to our table to inform us that "the next reservation for the table will be in in a half hour". I jokingly said that we would "get the heck out of there" and they responded, "great!". I've worked in the food service industry for a long, long time and I've never seen that sort of behavior regarding reservations. Some parties stay longer and spend more money. Parties get shuffled around. It happens! But to say that my husband and I overstayed our welcome after spending near 100$ and less than an hour at your little bar is RUDE. The staff has always been snooty but have never made me feel that my dollars meant less than the next table's. I won't be coming back.

J G.

Yelp
Went today food was decent. I got the heirloom tomato sandwich and asked if I could add cheddar, waiter said ok. Got my order from another person and I mentioned it did not have the cheese and was told the kitchen won't add cheese. Seems really odd to me that I'm not allowed to have cheese and would have been nice if the waiter had told me from the beginning. I'd be good if it was just an up charge but no just not allowed to have cheese on my sandwich? I wouldn't rush back here.

Ajith J.

Yelp
This is a review solely about the bar area and drinks. We did not get any food this time. They have an amazing and extensive selection of drinks. The bartender is always sweet, professional and very attentive. I love the lighting and ambience as well. Perfect place for a late night wind down drink. There is a parking garage within a 5 minute walk and street parking as well.

Hilary B.

Yelp
I am shocked this place doesn't have a much higher rating. I live in a city with 20+ Michelin stars and like to think I have prettttty high standards. And this place rocks. They have the best fries I've ever had outside of Belgium and one of the top 3 burgers I've ever had. And I've eaten a remarkable amount of burgers. Wine list is also excellent, especially if you like natural wines. I came back twice in three days when I visiting my parents. Go, go, go.

sarah h.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. The food is very good and the menu changes so that more things can be tried. The burger is very good and all the ingredients they use seem very fresh. The staff is very nice and it is a very easygoing atmosphere. Never had an issue getting a table

Jamie E.

Yelp
This is an unusual review. The food and service were excellent and my friends, who drank really liked their beers. This review is about the cost of a portion of french fries with truffle oil. They came to $17 which to me seems crazy. Of course I didn't have to order them but still that seems like an awful lot of money.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Came in for dinner a while back. The food was pretty good. They have a good beer and wine selection. The bartender was noisily chewing gum with her mouth open. It made me gag on my food. She went to the other end of the bar, otherwise, I was going to send my food back. It was rude and disgusting. How on earth can an adult think that's ok to do in a customer service job where you're serving food?!

Maisie G.

Yelp
Best beer selection in Northampton, best burger in Northampton (recommended: blue cheese and caramelized onions), knowledgeable and nice servers who are always willing to let you sample beer. There's outdoor seating, spacious indoor seating, and excellent fries, especially with truffle oil. Mixed-age diverse clientele, eclectic music selections, super chill vibe. I always feel at home at the DT.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Headed out on a whim for a late dinner and squeaked in for their last seating (9:15). Had the carnitas flatbread and a couple of hand pies. Super tasty (the hand pies are drizzled with honey, so messy when hand held) had a couple of great draft beers from the dark selection. The lacing on one made a cute little beer bronto! Definitely need to return a bit earlier for a more leisurely visit.

Eddie N.

Yelp
Overall we like coming to this place but lately the lady at the bar is not very nice. It's 9:30pm , doors closed at 10. My friends are seating here and having drinks and food. I drove 30 min to NoHo to have a beer with my friends and she will not even serve me a beer. Very disappointed. Will probably not come again. Owner should look at his team and teach them some basic costumer service and business hours.

Dave S.

Yelp
Had a really great beer while I waited for my to-go order tonight: veggie burger on a brioche bun, premium toppings, side of fries. Bartender was super nice and on it with beer tastings to help me decide, fries were among the best in town (as usual), great dipping sauces, but the burger was burned AF (even the add-on mushrooms were extra crispy). Brioche bun was nowhere to be found. Would have easily been 4 stars if not 5 if they had nailed the burger.

Megan M.

Yelp
Stopped in on Saturday night. The ambiance was great, tables not too close together and we could hear each other over the music. The mixed drinks and wine were fantastic. Can't speak to the quality of the food. The staff were very friendly, even though we closed them out (sorry, waiting for an Uber!). Will definitely return.

Mike L.

Yelp
Cool bar, great selection of beer and wine, the kolsch is really good and great pour on the sparkling ;)

Stephanie A.

Yelp
It was pretty good, excellent and friendly service, chill vibe. Had a glass of white wine which was delicious and a burger which was also tasty. My big gripe is that it was a 90+ degree day and they had what felt like no air conditioning on. It's hard to enjoy a meal while you're sweating and uncomfortable. Also 2$ for each add on to a burger turned a burger and glass of wine dinner into a $30 meal very quickly. Adding mushrooms to a burger for $2 is just overpriced IMO.

Da-Real S.

Yelp
This place went down hill. The name of this place speaks volumes. Food was poor quality and the server took forever just to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. Lesson learned. Never again.

Jaime M.

Yelp
Went on a date, have been here before. The veggie burger was mushy. The kicker was I looked at the specialty beer menu and picked a sour beer, a wine sized bottle. I dont think I have EVER looked at the price of a beer... How much could it be? $20- $30?? The bill came and the beer was $70.00. OK I usually buy what I want at restaurants and dont pay that much attention to price unless its steak or lobster. The menu was on my phone and a little hard to see as well. So it's my fault but I was really shocked. The Sour beer was not amazing or any different from any other sour beers that are out there.... Oh well.

Crawford P.

Yelp
The Google reviews must be fake. Really a bad experience. This place is nice looking and has lots of potential with their excellent beer selection, but AVOID THE FOOD. That was absolutely the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was absolutely inedible. It honestly tasted like it was cooked 5 days ago in old grease, then reheated in a microwave. The menu was very limited, so one would expect they could do the few things they have to offer correctly. Oh yeah, it's overpriced to boot. There are so many other, better options in town.

Lindsey B.

Yelp
I went here for a 30th birthday gathering earlier this week and had a good time. It's quite a spacious bar for Northampton...plenty of room to spread out at the bar or at the many tables. They have quite the number of beers on tap, as you can see from the picture, and lots of different types of beer. They also serve cider and wine...I had a nice low alcohol content cider, but there was another one that had almost 9%...so we will be heading back haha for me to try that one. They do have a food menu but none of us ordered any food, so I can't speak to that. This is definitely a place a beer lover would enjoy, as long as you're cool with the hipsters :)

Hools W.

Yelp
We were looking a place to grab a drink and a bite for dinner that had outdoor seating The service and beverages were great. The food, not so much. It looked great, but lacked flavor or the texture was off.

Katherine W.

Yelp
Great always changing wine list I had two weekly specials, the wjlhpe grilled scup fish and grilled bol choy sandwich. Both aging amd inexpensive Always fantastic service

Howard B.

Yelp
The truth about the Dirty Truth is that there are many good beers to choose from here! If you like craft beers this is a good spot for you. If you like beer but don't know much about it or craft beers you can totally go to school at the Dirty Truth. I have read some negatives about out of staters being carded here ... I am one and have not had problems. I have read about attitudes by the staff but I have never had anything but solid, reliable but no frills service. It's definitely got a hipster vibe to it. I have always listened to great but trendy music here. Those tunes range from Chill/Deep House music to the best of the latest Alt Rock. Lucky for me I love those genres! I have never had a bad beer here. But I am not sure I have met a beer I didn't like! The beer here is most definitely tier 1. On the food side I have only had a few things and all were solid. I will say that the burgers are probably tied with Packards for the best bar burgers in town (maybe all burgers for Noho - but Local Burger would need to be in the mix). My advice is to check it out. The younger you are the more likely you will like it. I am not young but am I fan. I wish they had more places like this when I was a 20 or 30 something. ;-)

Heather R.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place and I have really high standards. Their food is really well done. Even though flexitarian and used to eat mostly plant-based foods, I actually like their veggie burger when I almost never like veggie burgers! Their hand pie is absolutely incredible, the perfect combination of sweet and savory and their drink menu is on point! I love going here and highly recommend it for food or drinks! However it fills up, so if you want to do dinner you should make a reservation, especially on the weekends!

Jillian M.

Yelp
The Dirty Truth is the best beer bar in town! The food, beer, and service are all top notch. I highly recommend their burgers or the chicken sandwiches. Superb! For people complaining about the prices, the prices for every beer and food item are clearly listed on the menu. Additionally, The Dirty Truth pays their employees a living wage; I'd happily pay a little extra to ensure their employees are fairly paid.

Melena S.

Yelp
It has a nice aesthetic and good selection on drinks but the service is okay. The food is also okay. I like to have a little to munch on when I drink but there wasn't a good selection of appetizers or food in general. We ordered the nachos and the pulled bbq duck nachos because my friend is a vegetarian and the server specified which one was which to be careful BUT she mixed it up and my friend almost ate the meat. Oh no. I probably won't come back but it's cute and the drinks are good so try if you'd like.

Cat O.

Yelp
I'm pretty sensitive to the impact COVID-19 has had on the restaurant industry as a whole and still... this place is not really as good as it was even just a few months ago. After a really good experience a couple years ago, I revisited in late October snd it was very scaled back and had a few inconsistencies (burnt hand-pies and blasé service) I went back this past weekend. Big mistake! . The gnocchi was bland and dense, snd the pork that came with it was fibrous and slimy simultaneously. My friend had a fried chicken sandwich which was badly cooked and served on a roll that went to paste when he chewed it. The ice cream is too sweet but we needed it as a palate cleanser after a (not cheap) meal like that. We stopped for pizza on the way home.

Ann T.

Yelp
Sorry, not a good experience. Server was OK, flatbreads were mediocre at best. And we neglected to read the print at the top of the charge slip which states "hospitality is included in our prices" so we added a tip. Not a big deal, but having the tipping info ahead of time would have been preferred. Having an option of a paper menu would also be helpful.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
I love this place. Amazing burgers and an excellent beer selection, obviously. Also, please note that the negative reviews on here are part of a coordinated anti-vaxx campaign against them.

Carolyn Z.

Yelp
This was great community standby and bar, I used to go all the time before the pandemic and would have given it five stars. But now their prices are absolutely absurd. Also they add the tip in automatically, but I only know that from seeing the small print on the receipt. I understand that businesses are trying to stay open in light of the pandemic, but this is something else. Feels like they're taking advantage. A lot of us old school customers are probably gonna stop going there.

Thu L.

Yelp
This place is so cozy and great! I ended up grabbing drinks and ordering their home made beef jerky and the fish tacos. The beef jerky is soooo good! It is a must try! Their fish tacos was also excellent but their beef jerky is home made so it is pretty cool. Great place for group of friends to hang or couples.

Patricia W.

Yelp
Such a beautiful space and interesting beers/ciders on tap! And their food OMG! Probably the best fried chicken I've had in a while. Bartenders are awesome. Great location.

P. S.

Yelp
I wasn't going to leave to a yelp review, but I left a comment on Dirty Truths Instagram saying I had a bad experience and wanted to understand why it happened and they DELETED the comment without any response! So here's the original message I sent to their DM: I was just at your bar and I've never had a bad experience until tn! I was having a glass of prosecco and accidentally knocked it over reaching for something and it broke and I lost the rest of my bubbly. Total accident and I was of course apologetic about it! The bar tender didn't offer to pour me a second glass or even a small glass to make up for what I spilled. So I asked if I could order just a half glass of prosecco. She said sorry, can't do it, only beers and ciders can be ordered by the half. I said okay, even though I spilled mine? She said no, she couldn't do it--it wasn't the policy. So I'm writing to ask 1)is this indeed the policy? And 2)if so, why so harsh? I've worked in the service industry, accidents happen, you want your customers to feel happy, not bad, right? I've just never had that happen before as a customer or as a server, but I guess there's a first time for everything! Would really appreciate a response when you get the chance. Thanks so much.

Chad M.

Yelp
I have had some stellar food and beer at the Dirty Truth but between the price and the opressive vibe, I won't be going back... tl;dr: Good food and beer selection. Uncomfortable vibe. Pricey.

Sarah Y.

Yelp
Honestly, we wanted to love the Dirty Truth. My friend wanted to do a Moscow mule tour of Northampton, so she asked the waitress for one. The waitress was extremely curt, and immediately said that we should consider the menu again because they (obviously) didn't have Moscow mules. We weren't aware that the Dirty Truth lacks a liquor license, but there's no need to be rude about it. Weird, unfriendly vibe overall. Extremely expensive for three basic drinks, a dry pretzel & fries. And tiny cup of grainy cheese sauce cost $3 extra!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Expensive for what you get, and more than a little pretentious. That said, the food is not bad and they have an extensive collection of beers on tap, as well as some decent wine. Rumor is that the staff is quite knowledgable, but I can't speak to that, as it was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention and both my wine and water glasses had emptied to nothing before I had to wave someone down. I get it, you're hipsters. You serve lukewarm water without ice in thimble sized glasses, because . . . um . . . well, I actually don't get that part. But you're not posing in a coffee shop, you're *working* Engage. Pay attention. Here's another way of looking at it. The menu has a note on the bottom about the specials: "Our chef has spent a long time thinking of how these flavors will go together . . . etc . . . no substitutions on the specials." Or words to that effect. I get it. I've worked in places like that, where the chef puts a lot of time into thinking up the dishes and doesn't want to mess up a carefully planned combination of flavors at the whim of a customer. I hadn't noticed that disclaimer when I ordered my steak sandwich without mayonnaise (excuse me . . . without aioli). I was informed "no substitutions." It didn't seem like leaving mayonnaise *off* a sandwich was technically a substitution, but okay, not a battle worth fighting. I just ordered something else: a perfectly decent overpriced hamburger, with a side of very good fresh greens. Credit where its due. But as I sat there eating, I kind of read the menu over and noticed that little disclaimer about the specials. In it's way, it's completely fair. It's not like they don't warn you. Fair play . . . when you have an original dish on your hands. But did I mention this was a *steak sandwich* I really wanted one, though there was nothing particularly unusual or creative about it, unless you are of the mind that adding chimichurri to a cheesesteak is somehow cutting edge cuisine, in which case, god bless your sweet naive heart. I really did want that sandwich. But I got something else. And it was good. So was the wine. Full disclosure, I'll probably give it another shot before I give up on it for good. Like say if they have a *special* hamburger and insist that it *must* be server with ketchup. However, If you can handle the attitude, and are a fan of paying one or two dollars more than usual for your food, this might be the place for you.

Dan C.

Yelp
Other reviews portrayed this place as a snooty, upscale bastion of pretentiousness. I found this place to be a sort of neighborhoody, bohemian place found in Brooklyn. We sat at the bar and we were greeted right away. We ordered the mac & cheese, side salad and the cheese burger & fries. The mac & cheese wasn't the best ever, but it was a good and the portion was a decent size. The cheeseburger was quite good - the cheddar was excellent. The fries were really good too. The service was great. No complaints here of being left hanging or waiting to flag down a bartender. The atmosphere was good, too. The place had a very relaxed vibe, dimly lit, chilled-out electronic music playing and a very casual crowd.

Brandon P.

Yelp
Worst wait staff ever!. Not only did they argue about items that were not ordered, but they were incredibly rude about it. When coming to pay the bill it was a cluster fick of incompetence and possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never order food from this place or expect service that is even decent. Worst experience in noho guaranteed. Please decide to spend your money elsewhere.

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
Food and beer list are great but staff totally ruin it. They are so snooty and can't be bothered. They ignore their customers and act like we inconvenience them. Pass on this place. Not worth it. Plenty of other great options in Northampton.

Courtney A.

Yelp
First of all--glad they are still up and running and the outdoor seating was well-spaced. Our server tonight was very friendly and kind. Dirty Truth recently announced on their website and menu, etc. that they are now paying staff a living wage, so gratuity is now optional (and any tips will be split amongst the entire team). They also state that prices on the menu have been raised accordingly to offset this wage increase. My partner asked if this was actually the case, and we were told that servers are now paid the state minimum wage (which I believe is $12). This is definitely a step in the right direction, but just FYI, if you want to be fair to the staff here in the interim, be prepared to continue shelling out a 20% tip, because I don't think anyone in this area is convinced by the idea that $12 an hour is a "living wage." As in the pre-pandemic world, beer selection is good, while food quality is a little unpredictable and portion sizes are meager for the price . . .

Wesley G.

Yelp
Great tasting food and nice atmosphere. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, the eggplant sandwich, mixed greens, and fries. All were delicious. They also had a large beer and cider selection. Come to The Dirty Truth for a nice experience with a European flare.

Roger K.

Yelp
It had probably been 5 years or more since we first visited The Dirty Truth. We'd been through town a number of times since then, but the opportunity never allowed us to stop in on those visits. After visiting the Paradise City Arts Festival on Memorial Day seemed like the perfect time for what I recalled as an excellent choice of beers. We were not disappointed. There are at least 30 craft brews on tap so I didn't even think to ask if there was a bottled beer menu. One of the nice things about TDT is they group the list of beers on the chalk board by styles. Our server, Paul, says he's worked there for about 5 years and it showed in his familiarity with the different brews available. He asked my wife what she had in mind and taking her cues on a beer that was not too hoppy, he had no problem suggesting a pint of Founders Red's Rye PA ($5.75). She was quite pleased with his recommendation. I chose to start with a Sierra Nevada Torpedo ($5). Their pints are 16 oz. and served at the perfect temperature to fully appreciate their flavors. There were two items on their daily specials board that got our attention. My wife ordered the Beer Battered Cod Tacos ($14) - 2 soft flour tortillas (actually, two tortillas were used for each taco) filled with the pieces of fish, shredded cabbage and radishes with sides of blueberry mint salsa, sour cream, and French fries. These were delicious, would have been even better if they used corn flour tortillas! The hand-cut French fries were so good I finished them when my wife asked for a container to take home her leftovers. We all know that fries are never as good reheated. My eye had been caught by the Maple Coffee Brined Pork Chop Sandwich ($14) - slices of the brined pork served over a bed of house-made potato salad, all inside a brioche roll baked just down the street at the Tart Baking Co. A generous portion of warm black eyed pea salad also came with the sandwich. The pork was tend and nicely flavored. It seemed strange to have the potato salad right inside the sandwich but the mix of textures and flavors worked really well. The black eyed peas had lots of flavor also and were not overcooked. While we relaxed at our high-top table with a view of the people passing by on Main Street through the large, opened, glass windows we finished our meals with pints of Founders Porter ($7.50) and Jack's Abby ABCS ($5). Both were quite enjoyable. Service was friendly and helpful. As the place got busier, additional servers appeared and assisted in clearing our table and delivering our check. If you enjoy beer you don't want to pass by this place. But don't overlook the food either. It's quite good.

Yelp
I have had issues with this place in the past but never bothered to post anything. So this evening I thought I would give them a try again... it's was about 10:40 or so and there was probably at least 15-20 patrons in the bar. I walked in with a friend and sat down to be greeted bar the bartender to "oh did you guys just get hear? Oh I just called last call" well you just called last call on me ever coming back. I get it that you called last call but we would have had our drink and been out by 11pm closing. Not the first time I have had trash service here. Do yourself a favor and go to the green room such better place.

Yelp
This place is great. The ambiance is fantastic, food is delicious, service was professional. Manager needs a lesson in manners, but everything else made up for it.
