⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Gem in Phuket!
Visiting the Chalong Bay Distillery was a highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is incredible—tucked away in a lush, tropical sugarcane garden, it feels like a hidden oasis. Whether you're a spirits enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic meal, this place is a must-visit.
The Drinks
The cocktails here are next-level. We started with the Passion Fruit Mojito, which was incredibly refreshing; you can really taste the quality of their signature rum combined with the brightness of the fresh local fruit.
The standout for me, however, was the Gin and Tonic made with their Saneha Luminous Gin. This gin is a local masterpiece—infused with Thai botanicals like kaffir lime and pomelo, it’s exceptionally aromatic and crisp. It’s easily one of the best G&Ts I’ve ever had.
The Food
While the distillery is famous for its spirits, the food is equally deserving of praise. The menu is a sophisticated blend of traditional Thai flavors and modern presentation:
Fresh Prawn Spring Rolls: Crisp, light, and served with a dipping sauce that had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy.
Roast Duck Breast: Perfectly cooked and tender, with a rich depth of flavor that paired beautifully with our drinks.
Pad Thai with Softshell Crab: This was the showstopper. The noodles had that authentic wok hei (breath of the wok), and the softshell crab was fried to a delicate, golden crunch.
Final Verdict
The service was warm and attentive, and the setting is just stunning. It’s rare to find a place where the distillery experience and the restaurant are both top-tier, but Chalong Bay nails it.
