The Distillery Phuket - Home of Chalong Bay

We had the most incredible and unforgettable afternoon at The Distillery, situated about a 30-minute drive from Old Town Phuket among the stunning sugarcane fields. The space itself is beautifully designed, with an atmosphere that is both relaxing and visually breathtaking. The cocktails are crafted with such intention and attention to detail, every sip was a delight. We ordered from both their regular and special festive menu, and not once were we disappointed. While the cocktails are on the pricier side, I would pay it any day just to relive the experience. The staff made the visit truly exceptional. Liam, Nicky, Ing-ing, and Zaw were so welcoming, fun, and engaging, never hesitating to start up a conversation and make us feel completely at home. Their energy and friendliness added so much to the experience — we loved every moment. There aren’t enough words to describe just how special this place is. A core memory unlocked for sure, and a must-visit for anyone looking for great cocktails in a magical setting. 10/10 would recommend.

this place is a little oasis in tucked away from the busy highway of Chalong, away from the heat and noise. the distillery tour was educational and boozy! i could barely finish my servings for the tasting after the tour. i’m glad i got the lunch beforehand. i recommend the tom kha mussel soup! it has a rich and deep taste and different from any tom kha soup i’ve had before. i recommend their original pure sugarcane rum. i wished they’d share more about the farming and juicing of the sugarcane and the end to end process especially with a lens of sustainability sine they see to all be checking those boxes already. for example they hire local and except for the juniper berries source most ingredients locally.

Hat's off to property representative LEK And our personal guide Ryan, A comfortable chill afternoon with a custom tour of the distillery, the event started off by walking into these wonderful and beautiful manicured grounds, the yard, bar and seating area were something out of a magazine, clean organized and bright. The Executive manager Lek was the first to greet us, a bubbling personality and tons of energy, she confirmed our reservation and asked us if we wanted a drink or a bite to eat, we were a 1/2 away from the tour and she ensured us that the food is quick the drinks quicker and everything would slide into place. .. my wife and I split a pesto chicken wrap and a rum fruity drink and we were in heaven... Within minutes the wrap came out, toasty on the outside chilly on the inside bursting with flavor... The drink, could not taste the run but I assure you..... It was heavy 🤟🤟🤟. After the chow and clean up our tour guide Ryan joined us... This Thai young man with GREAT ENGLISH was on point, managing a tour of 8 all of us with personalities, he knew everything about the distillery and was able to have fun with us... It was sensational, after the tour we convened back to the bar area where we did tastings.... And they poured VERY WELL... 9 tastings of Run a few of Gin and a vodka or two... Let's say....... It got ridiculous towards the end and I'm glad we ate.... Over all this is literally one of the top distillery tours on the face of this Earth... It was outstanding. Had a wonderful experience here! I really enjoyed the rum, gin, and vodka tasting — each one was unique and thoughtfully crafted. The food was absolutely delicious, and the place was very clean and well maintained. The atmosphere has such a positive, welcoming vibe, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The team was also very knowledgeable and more than happy to share insights about the alcohol-making process. Highly recommended for both the drinks and the experience! 🍸✨

must visit if you are into bartending/ interested in distilleries. i took the cocktail workshop and went back an other day to try few more of their cocktails. The place is super nice, staff is super friendly and insanely good quality of rum. their cats are super friendly

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Gem in Phuket! Visiting the Chalong Bay Distillery was a highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is incredible—tucked away in a lush, tropical sugarcane garden, it feels like a hidden oasis. Whether you're a spirits enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic meal, this place is a must-visit. The Drinks The cocktails here are next-level. We started with the Passion Fruit Mojito, which was incredibly refreshing; you can really taste the quality of their signature rum combined with the brightness of the fresh local fruit. The standout for me, however, was the Gin and Tonic made with their Saneha Luminous Gin. This gin is a local masterpiece—infused with Thai botanicals like kaffir lime and pomelo, it’s exceptionally aromatic and crisp. It’s easily one of the best G&Ts I’ve ever had. The Food While the distillery is famous for its spirits, the food is equally deserving of praise. The menu is a sophisticated blend of traditional Thai flavors and modern presentation: Fresh Prawn Spring Rolls: Crisp, light, and served with a dipping sauce that had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Roast Duck Breast: Perfectly cooked and tender, with a rich depth of flavor that paired beautifully with our drinks. Pad Thai with Softshell Crab: This was the showstopper. The noodles had that authentic wok hei (breath of the wok), and the softshell crab was fried to a delicate, golden crunch. Final Verdict The service was warm and attentive, and the setting is just stunning. It’s rare to find a place where the distillery experience and the restaurant are both top-tier, but Chalong Bay nails it.

What an incredible visit! We joined the cocktail-making class with Nicky, who was absolutely amazing – friendly, knowledgeable, and full of energy. He taught us how to create three delicious cocktails using Chalong Bay’s signature rum, and each one was better than the last! After the class, Natty took us on a short but very informative tour around the distillery, where we learned about their unique production process. We also enjoyed a tasting session that included several varieties of rum, plus two gins and a vodka – all exceptional in flavour and quality. We decided to stay for food afterwards, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we’ve had in Phuket – absolutely delicious from start to finish. If you’re visiting Phuket, this place is an absolute must! A perfect mix of fun, education, and incredible flavours. Highly recommend! 🌴🍸
