My visit to The DL, specifically their rooftop lounge, was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed. Arriving a bit later in the evening, I found the line manageable, and the ambiance on the rooftop was immediately appealing. It started off with a relaxed vibe, but by 1 AM, the place was buzzing with energy. I particularly appreciated the mixed crowd; while there were plenty of people in their 20s, I met many in their 30s and older, which made for a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere.
The DJ kept the energy high, playing a fantastic mix of old club classics and new hits, along with top 40s, R&B, popular hip hop, and LatinX. While I sometimes wished songs would play a bit longer, the overall selection was great for dancing. The staff were polite and attentive throughout the night, ensuring drinks were served efficiently. There's also a convenient balcony area for those who smoke.
While the main dining area and bar seemed to offer a full experience, I noted that food on the rooftop lounge appeared to be tied to bottle service, and the kitchen might close earlier for general orders, which is something to keep in mind. Despite this, the drinks were well-made, and the overall presentation upon entering the rooftop was impressive. I had a genuinely good time and would love to return, perhaps for a daytime brunch or an after-work party, to experience a different side of this vibrant NYC spot.
