My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful evening at The Dodging Duck Brewhaus. The service was phenomenal — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Our server made us feel right at home and never missed a beat. The food was fantastic. The Reuben was stacked perfectly and full of flavor, the burger was cooked just right, and the homemade-style chips and mashed potatoes were a great touch. And that dessert… unreal. Rich, warm, and indulgent — the perfect ending to the night. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, especially on the patio with the lights and heaters. It made for a perfect night out together. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Google
Great, cozy, little spot for a nice lunch. We arrived a few minutes after they opened and got right in. By the time we left, about 12:30, they were pretty full. We started with the giant pretzel and sausage. There were 4 of us, and it was early, so it was plenty for an appetizer. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Definitely try the fish & chips. It was perfect!

Stopped by for lunch today. The restaurant is family friendly and located across from the creek with a beautiful walking trail. We were able to walk up and get a table for 4 with no wait just before 12pm on a weekday. Everyone was friendly. The atmosphere is nice. We were in the first room to the left. 3 tables of different sizes and a window ac and fan. We were very comfortable. The table cloths add a nice touch and my kids loved the butcher paper to color on. Our server brought out extra papers and crayons while we waited on the food. We ordered from the lunch menu. My kids got burgers with soup for a side (chili and chicken tortilla)…those meals were ok. Chili was lacking ingredients. More volume. The chicken Caesar wrap was mostly lettuce. We did have to ask a few times for water to be refilled so attention to that would be good for future visits. Wed return to try it again. Restrooms were clean. And it was a cute restaurant. Prices were kind of high for lunch prices. And I’m unsure if there’s a parking lot. We parked along the street across from the restaurant.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a large party. We didn't have reservations, but was luckily able to be seated within a few minutes at an outside table. There is less seating inside, so that would've been about a 30 minute wait. It was hot, but there's fans everywhere to help cool it down. Service was very friendly. Started off with a few drinks and a beer Flight as they had a nice selection of beers on tap. Also, had some Shishito Peppers and Fried Green Tomatoes for the table. Those were great to share and a good start to the meal. For the meal, ordered about 6 different dishes ranging from a burger to a salad to seafood. Surprisingly, all were very good, but my surprise favorite was the Fish & Chips. I would've been happy with any dish though. For dessert, ordered the Brownie and Creme Brulee. Once again, both were good. It was nice sitting outside enjoying some good food and drinks.

Google
Absolutely incredible vegan burger, full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and super satisfying. You’d never guess it’s plant-based. Friendly staff and great vibes too. Highly recommend!

Google
Would have given 2 stars since my top choice was taken off the menu. Chose the steak frites. Definitely avoid this choice. Their reuben that my girl ordered was amazing. Easily a solid 8.5. Thankfully my girl eats light. Their beer is pretty on point. Waitress was also super friendly. They should bring back the wagyu dry aged steak!

Google
Good food, great service and fun atmosphere. The place is very clean and has a cool vibe with multiple levels of outdoor seating plus indoor seating. We each had an IPA, I had the half Cobb salad with chicken which was very good and my husband had the axis burger which was ok, overcooked and a pretty darned little patty. His Spanish rice and mashed potatoes on the side were very good and our server was a delightful young lady. The bathrooms were immaculate and well stocked.

Google
I was very impressed with this restaurant. It is a true gem and worth making a quick detour if your in the area. Craft brews made in house and fantastic food. Indoor and Outdoor seating, just across the street from the walking trails by the creek. The Duckomo Tropical Ale was a stand out. The Panini, Salad and Fried Green Tomatoes were all exceptional. I will definitely stop by again to try more of the menu.

Yelp
First visit there for my wife and I and we were very favorably impressed. The food, drink and atmosphere were all wonderful. I had the bison burger (cooked perfectly) and my wife had the axis burger. Sorry there aren't photos. I guess we were hungry. The fried okra, which we had as an appetizer, was also amazing. If you find yourself in Bourne and you're hungry and craving an excellent craft beer, do yourself a favor and stop here!

Yelp
Finally made it here after reading about it, from back in the early days of craft breweries in Texas. Uber'd in, so can't speak to parking. Was pretty busy for the evening meal, but we were seated quickly, and had our orders in by the time our pints arrived. Opted for burgers (I had the Axis burger), Hop Queen had the sauteed veges for her side. Everything was tasty and went well with the high IBU IPA. Server was on the spot for refills, and anything else needed, other staff were friendly as well, even just passing by. Highly recommended for a meal, or a leisurely pub evening sampling pints!

Yelp
Philly steak was very good, the Harvey Duckman beer was just what I wanted after a hard work day, love the atmosphere, very quaint open air dining on a cool winter night.

Yelp
Pulled up to a line waiting to get in since they open at 11a on Sundays--& we now see why. For June in Texas, the weather has been amazing--breezy and warm (not hot). We sat outside to live jazz music. Waitress, Erin, suggested the sausage links plate or fish and chips. We ordered one of each and it did not disappoint. I'm not a tartar sauce person (lean to malt vinegar) on my fried fish, but there's is exceptionally good. The pretzel that came with the sausage link plate was incredible - - comes with a side of beer cheese dipping sauce. They have a full line up of house brewed beers and some wines, including sparkling. We had a hard time deciding from the menu -- we definitely will return and recommend.

Yelp
The outdoor seating is well equipped with fans for the Texas heat. The live music is at the perfect volume, not too loud. The cilantro sauce that comes with the shisito peppers is special. The menu has a good variety of dishes. I highly recommend the fish and chips.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday for a late lunch. There is roadside parking out front. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, but not sure if it is for the restaurant. It was packed, but we were sat pretty quickly. They had a band on the patio playing jazz, which was loud, but not too loud. The patio is also dog friendly. I got the fish and chips and my wife got the classic nachos. Our food came out fast and was delicious. It was really busy the entire time we were here and they turned over tables quickly so there wasn't much of a wait

Yelp
Another great spot with terrific food and craft beer. Service was excellent and the German food plate of sausage, pretzel and warm potato salad brought me joy.

Yelp
Always passing by this place when we decide to stroll thru Boerne but today was not that day! Our party of 9 was well serviced today for brunch. very friendly waitstaff! It was a Sunday and the Nelson Trio offered up some melodic jazz tunes to accompany our meal in the Biergarten. Not formal but a cozy casual atmosphere. Fantastic sunny weather with a slight breeze made sitting outdoors extremely pleasant. Quite impressed with the fish - beer batter perfection, and the fillet was moist and flaky. The house made dressing that accompanies the fish is a great relish. A little more than I would prefer to spend on a hamburger and fries but I do recommend the chicken wings, a generous amount of carrots and celery was a plus! There is a great kids menu and the salad varieties on the menu looked promising for a return visit Truly uncertain the ease of wheelchair access to the restroom, pretty tight hallway. I am curious enough to come back in the evening to check out the evening vibes!
google avatar

Reiley H.

Yelp
There is a great selection of beer here. I like to get their honey cider. I like their fried green tomatoes and their fish and chips. As someone who doesn't typically like tartar sauce- theirs is delicious! To me it kind of tastes like a tangy ranch. Their Philly cheesesteak is a let down. Don't get it

Yelp
Really fun spot near the river. There's plenty of outdoor seating, a bar inside, live music and such good food! The bison burger was awesome. Great selection of wine and beer too. And wonderful service! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
Just an awful joint. Bad food, bad service, SUPER pricey. The trifecta! Do yourself a favor and go to Pinchy's next door or grab a Whataburger and thank me later.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun restaurant on the Cibolo Creek, great patio and live music! Great beer and wine list.

Yelp
I would have given 5 Stars but here is how it went. We all gathered here to celebrate an early High School graduation. I have not been back here in a long time. The food and service was superb. I ordered the 1/4lb Cheeseburger with a side of "sautéed veggies." I know right? Who does that? Should have been fries but I wanted to keep it healthy, and it was delish. All of it was fantastic, I could have stayed here all day, but we all had to leave to get back to everyday stuff. Before we left I saw a couple walk in, both were carrying some kind of large bag with a Baby Kangaroo!! I kid not! 2 baby Kangas were sitting at the table next to us, and all I could think to myself was "This just got real interesting." I had to keep cool and not rush over there to ask if I could pet and feed them. My whole table was a buzz of those baby kangas, then THE MANAGER went over to them and asked them to leave. According to the couple they said they have done this 4 other times and never had a problem. IN DEFENSE of THE MANAGER, they properly have a sign posted and it specifically states no other animals but dogs can be on the property. At least that's how I remember it. I don't know how long that sign had been there. You might wanna consult with the manager or even the owner when carrying EXOTIC/FOREIGN pets, no matter how awesome it is.. I wanted the Kangas to stay, but you have to respect the rules.

Yelp
Burger was alright, but the vibe was awesome. Right next to the river and had an awesome jazz band. Felt kinda like a pub in Richmond.

Yelp
Shout out to the server we had yesterday evening Ja-Toni (not sure I got the spelling correctly). She was very attentive and a friendly, a pleasure all the way around. The order was taken promptly, and everything came out as orders end. Great representative for a great family restaurant. Food and drinks are good as well. The double cheeseburger is our grandson's favorite. Good selections of side, the beers are good and a good selection of wines. Always a great experience.

Yelp
Great burgers and nachos, heart of boerne salad, like to drink the IPA beer, but the dark beer needs to be put back in the horse it came from ! Some days the waitress's are kinda gross and grungy ( dirty hair and look unbathed) just ignore that because the beer and food is better than average for boerne, Almost forgot probably the best fish and chips in the area, homemade potato chips are yum

Yelp
My brother and sister and I met in Boerne for a family reunion in March, and our first dinner out was at the Dodging Duck. What a DELIGHTFUL meal! My sister brought her dogs, so we really appreciated all the outdoor seating available--with live music on Sunday evening! The venue is gorgeous, facing Cibolo Creek, and the tables were well-spaced and had lovely views of the river. Our server was Erin, and she was SUPERLATIVE! We were initially seated close to the musicians, and we loved the music but the dogs' hearing was more acute, so Erin kindly moved us to another table that was perfect. She also helped guide us through the menu choices and suggested wine pairings that were a wonderful complement to the food. She was very attentive and checked on us frequently to ensure we were enjoying our meals. And our meals were DELICIOUS! My brother had Cindy's Heart of Boerne Salad, which was HUGE and had a plethora of fresh vegetables, from artichokes to mixed greens, as well as cranberries and pecans. I had the Fried Green BLT, which sported fried green tomatoes and was garnished with guacamole. And my sister had the Chicken Caesar Wrap, which was plump and full of grilled chicken. Everything was YUMMY! Many thanks to everyone at the Dodging Duck, from the hospitality/welcome desk to the musicians and especially to Erin, for giving us such a magical first evening in Boerne!! We appreciate you!

Yelp
Our plans got rained out so we headed over to Dodging Ducks' patio. It's a great spot to enjoy some beverages and food. We each got the imperial IPA and it was pretty tasty. We also ordered a pretzel with beer cheese. The pretzel was really good. The wait staff was attentive.

Yelp
I've always passed this place and thought it looked cool with the views of Cibolo Creek. They have a heated outside porch which was perfect on a slightly chilly fall day. It's a beer and wine establishment so I settled on a glass of Riesling and my mom had a Chardonnay. They were both reasonably priced around $7 a glass. Our server was a young man who was both friendly and knowledgeable. My mom likes to ask questions before she orders and he was patient with her. More patient than I am lol. I settled on the BLT with fried green tomatoes and thick cut peppered bacon. It had a generous amount of guacamole and a cilantro lime sauce on a soft brioche bun. My only suggestion would be a different type of bread as the brioche was a little soft and didn't hold the toppings well and was really messy. Other than that I loved the flavor combination. Mom settled on the Rueben and said it was great. The German potato salad had an intriguing flavor. It was almost like a smashed potato texture and had a sweet taste to it (brown sugar maybe?). House cut fries were good as well. Crisp on the outside soft on the inside. We enjoyed the ambience, the service, and the food here. I'll definitely be returning to sample some of their other dishes.

Yelp
Sweet servers made us feel like we were family! She was patient when we ordered more hot soft pretzels and was attentive to our need for water.

Yelp
The Dodging Duck is wonderful! The outdoor seating, sitting on the other side of the road from the river walk, live music and delicious food make it a truly enjoyable experience. For an appetizer we got the very best fried green tomatoes I've ever had, coupled with a delicious dipping sauce. Some craft German beer and it was perfect. For dinner, we got some perfectly grilled bratwurst, mashed potatoes and giant, warm soft pretzel with beer-cheese dipping sauce. The potatoes had bits of pork that tasted like it had been cooked with brown sugar; they were very sweet and benefited from some additional seasoning. Salt and pepper grinders were at the tables to season to taste. Not the cheapest place to eat, however the portions are big and the food quality was on par as well. The host and waitress were very friendly and the area it resides in is festive and fun. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I have high hopes for Dodging Duck. They have chosen a good choice of burger meat and a well listed beer variety. Unfortunately, the resulting presentation of the burgers was disappointing. They gave me all the rings on the side and I was forced to make my own burger. Additionally, both my wife and I had burger's that were dry. Her sweet potato fries were cold. Again the atmosphere was great, the menu selections were promising, however, ultimately disappointing. I am always on the hunt for a good dependable and enjoyable burger experience, The Dodging Duck is not one of them (for the time being).

Yelp
I have eaten here numerous times and the food and the brews are simply phenomenal! Love this place and make a point of popping in when I am in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful venue outdoors, excellent service, great beer and food selection. Dog Friendly

Cari J.

Yelp
Fun variety of menu items to choose from. Happy someone has slight German food options in Boerne. Love the old house turned restaurant and awesome covered patio. Sounds funny but it's a delightful atmosphere. Our fish & chips was a little greasy/heavier than preferred.

Patricia T.

Yelp
After coming to this establishment for over fifteen years this will be the last time that we come here. The food was subpar and overcooked. This has happened in the past but we have ignored it because of their great food servers. However, today we asked that a dish be sent back and taken of the bill. When you ask for something to be cooked medium rare, and you receive it cooked beyond well done it is only the right thing to take it off the bill. They said okay but charged $ 8.95 for a very small bake potato that was supposed to be a side. My husband ate the petite baked potato because we had waited for our food for a while. We have spent so much money over the years here, but if customer service is what you are looking for then this is not the place to come.
google avatar

Vera R.

Yelp
Great brewpub resto . We came here to eat one weekend after visiting Boerne and we walked the entire mile from Dickens at Maine Street to this s place . We got so hungry . Their pretzels were amazing and so were the rest of the food . The place was so packed and they had some live music too.

Yelp
Honestly, you can't go wrong at The Duck. A Boerne institution with excellent service, great food and lovely outdoor seating. The excellent beer is always icy and crowd mellow. Can't recommend it enough!

Brandon S.

Yelp
Continuing on my Boerne food journey I stopped in at the dodging duck! Carson was our server and he was the absolute best!! I can't believe how good the scenery was and Carson offered to take our picture for keepsakes! Thank you sooooo much Carson.
google avatar

Shelene L.

Yelp
The food here is just ok. Although it is a local favorite, it's nothing that I'd like to repeat. The standard burgers, salads, and drinks is what they serve. There is indoor and outdoor seating and local musicians play on the stage. Overall, it's a nice place to go for lunch or dinner. However, with so many other establishments around, I feel the taste and portion sizes just ok. My recommendations: Pretzel with sausage bites and mustards, burger on jalapeno roll, and lemonade.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
First of all, this place is too cute. The weather was perfect for my friend and I to eat outside on the patio and we loved it. We started with Prosecco and mimosas and of course you really can't go wrong there. Service was standard, we did have to get our waiters ate too. Several times but they were quite busy. We ordered the hummus plate as an appetizer and it was spot on. I wish I would have taken photos of the other food items we ate but honestly we were just so caught up in the moment that I forgot. I highly suggest giving this place a shot. You won't be disappointed!

Annette H.

Yelp
This is probably my first review of many visits two different establishments. But I had to take the time because Angelica and Alex at the bar were superb and one of the best experiences that we've had and definitely will come back.
google avatar

Anna W.

Yelp
I met some girlfriends here for dinner on Sunday and had a really great experience. Our server was prompt and polite. The artichoke cheese dip as an appetizer and chicken soup for my entire was amazing! They did have a live band that played until close that was really good. The beer and wine list was mostly local which we loved. They also had the patio covered and heated, which was especially helpful since it was cold. We parked along the river walkway without any issue.

Michael D.

Yelp
Great food and service. Good mix of menu items Great music on sunday Dog friendly, very nice employees

Shanna C.

Yelp
Food is excellent as well as the service. This use to be our Go-To place to eat. Unfortunately, they have added music that is so loud you can't talk among yourselves. We literally had to scream our order to the waitress. We will go when Faith Jacob's is playing. She's perfect for that place, . Nice music and you can still talk to those at your table.
google avatar

Barbara T.

Yelp
Lily took exceptional care of us! We had the fried okra, ribeye, mashed potatoes and asparagus. All was excellent . Music on the patio on this Sunday was jazz which we throughly enjoyed. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
The food was good, beer and dessert. Best of all we got to bring our puppers. They even brought our puppy a water bowl. The services was good and loved the ambiance. I will return if we go back to this town.

Dick W.

Yelp
The Dodging Duck is a popular Boerne restaurant and hangout. For me the praise goes to the staff who do such an amazing job serving and representing the restaurant. The food is good, quality fresh ingredients. The Cindy Salad which came highly recommended seemed a little off last night. Too many hearts of palm and craisins and too few artichokes and walnuts and the celery vinaigrette of was very thick. However, the flavors were good and I did enjoy it. The ambiance is laidback casual with both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a very good quartet band last evening which definitely charmed the crowd. We'll go back.

Bailey L.

Yelp
We just walked out not 2 minutes after I am writing this. We sat down and didn't have anyone come up to our table for 12 minutes. So we just left and nobody really even noticed that either. And there was almost no crowd so there should not be much of an excuse. Oh well. And $17 for a quarter pounder seemed a little crazy too lol!

Sandra W.

Yelp
Fabulous food, location is ideal and staff is just top notch. I don't drink beer so can't comment but all the food is delicious and original recipes!! Relaxing Environment across from Borene River where Ducks are everywhere that you can watch if you choose outdoor dining!! What I like about the outdoor dining is they keep it warm in winter weather and cool in summer!! Very Best Waiters/Waitresses who know their stuff!! Can't say enough about the Bartenders they Rock It!! Hats Off to The Dodging Duck my personal Favorite Restaurant in Borene with Down Home Cooking and Sweet Tea!! Beer optional!!
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
Love this cozy restaurant on river road serving up good beer, comfort food and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating. Small Stage for musicians. Personable staff. Dog friendly. Saw at least 4 dogs during our visit. This deserves its own line - BEER LOVERS, get the Combobulator doppelbock! 5 stars! Superb taste at 8.5%. Worthy. If you like German food, get the sausage and pretzel with Bavarian style mashed potatoes- they're sweet with bacon chunks and my wife said they reminded her of how her grandma made them. She easily ate half. The dips are done well from mustard to cilantro ranch for the fried tomatoes. It rained hard so we stayed here for 2+ hours and didn't feel like we were stuck. I'll make it a point to come eavery time I visit Boerne.
google avatar

Jose G.

Yelp
Wanted to get out of town for the day and drove out to Boerne, TX on a Sunday! Upon arrival you are greeted with a very charming building that looks out onto the river. It was a perfect day so I sat out on the covered patio. I started off by ordering a flight of beers pictured below. All beers had a good taste, and were refreshing on this warm Texas day. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap and a side of sweet potato fries. The wrap was very well served and had good flavor. Y'all, the sweet potato fries though.. YUM!! They had the perfect texture. Right amount of crispy on the outside but not overcooked and soft on the inside with great flavor. All in all, a nice place for lunch, but it's not one of the cheaper options. Come check it out!
google avatar

Dave K.

Yelp
Our waitress Angilee?? Was great. They had a couple of great beers. I likedthe IPAs and my wife liked the coconut porter. We had a pannni and a Reuben. Both were very good. It was fun place to hang out for awhile.

Michael E.

Yelp
I ordered the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the cheese steak with chicken tortilla soup. Everything was unseasoned, no flavor. We sat inside, and there were flies everywhere and it was SUPER cramped. Would recommend sitting outside. The service was fine, but the hosts were kind of weird.

Steve H.

Yelp
We had great service, sat outside in their covered patio under fans and listened to a live zydeco band play during lunch. All the staff were friendly, drinks were cold and the food was good.

Stewart G.

Yelp
Amazing, well presented food. Salad dressings are a standout screaming HOMEMADE! A must return next time we're near Bourne.

Dorris T.

Yelp
Found this place on our way home and stopped by for a little lunch. As we walked up to the restaurant we were greeted by an employee Angelica who opened the door for us and welcomed us to the restaurant. Then we found out she was to be our server! What a wonderful personality. So sweet and always smiling. Very knowledgeable on the beers and wines and also the food. We ended up splitting something because we weren't that hungry. First we had the giant pretzel with the beer cheese that also came with spicy mustard and the cranberry mustard. Wow! That beer cheese and the cranberry mustard were both amazing!! Then we split the Cesar Salad wrap with a side of asparagus. Both were just delish. But what made the meal even better was our wonderful server Angelica. She made our lunch so special. We will definitely ask for her again. She is the best!!

Ken L.

Yelp
There were so many choices on the menu, and the food was outstanding. Lots of flavor and huge portions for the price. The outdoor seating near the creek made for a very peaceful afternoon. The bar has a lot of options on tap, which made it nice to sample local brews. The wait staff were extremely quick and helpful with questions about the menu. Overall an outstanding experience and will definitely go back.

Ze Z.

Yelp
I posted a photo...Yes, it's nothing because that's what we got. After being sat, we were never helped. While a waiter was present in our section, he proceeded to help everyone around us including people who were sat after us. Even if he was not our waiter, acknowledging customers is part of the service industry period. Especially when you've seen them sitting there for over 20 minutes not acknowledged. This place was extremely disappointing.
