"Austin-based bar Dogwood is on schedule to open its Nashville outpost in Midtown next week, according to social media posts. The bar and restaurant comes from also Austin-based Carmack Concepts, owned by former “Bachelor” star Brad Womack and his brother Chad Womack, along with Jason Carrier. The Midtown property at 1907 Division Street that most recently housed Soulshine Pizza Factory now looks entirely different when driving by. A dual-level patio gives ample outdoor space, and inside hosts a small stage for live music. As far as food goes, the Austin location’s menu shows pretty par-for-the-course bar fare — beginning with standard apps like mozzarella sticks, nachos, and sliders. The rest of the menu is more par-for-a-bar stuff — featuring sweet tea-marinated wings, burgers, tacos, and other sandwiches. Check back later to see how the Nashville location’s menu compares." - Delia Jo Ramsey

The dogwood is the perfect place for a great vibe. Tasty food, outdoor seating, live music, and they had some games (my friends and I played Jenga). I ordered the brisket burrito and it did not disappoint! It was delicious, 5/5 stars! I was expecting the fries to come on the side but they were actually inside of the burrito, how cool :)

Google
Absolutely wonderful place! Food was excellent! Unfortunately bar tender spilled a beer while trying to serve it. Got pissed of when asked to make sure the beer wasn’t charged after spilling it. She threw it away getting annoyed. Decided to yell and try to kick us out after saying we didn’t grab the beer fast enough and that we spilled the beer not them. 2 people besides the bar tender saw what happened.

Google
The dogwood is a really cozy little bar that sits out of the crazy of Broadway, but still offers a vibrant and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend coming on a Sunday night to watch one of the Bolos and Booze writers rounds that is hosted by studio rats. While you’re at the dogwood make sure you give the quesadilla a try as it is a great dish.

Google
Great atmosphere & very good food! Don't expect a waiter/waitress to come to your table for an order, here you go to the bar and order your food yourself! Although we had very good service we were surprised to find we had to step up and order this way. Both indoor and outdoor dining available.

This is probably my favorite bar I visited while in Nashville. It was really cool to talk to Miranda and Simeon (transferred from the Austin, TX location). They were super helpful and friendly. Had some awesome drinks and the music was the a great blend of pop and hip-hop from the 90s-00s. We also tried their sweet potato tots (so yummy). Will definitely be back!! Note to owners: Wish we had something like this in Alpharetta, GA or on the belt line in Atlanta.

Google
Place looks great, should be a packed house with live music and style. However, there were maybe 30 people in the bar that should fit 200+. Food is average bar food but the service is horrible. Bartenders need to work on customer appreciation. Seemed like the Bartender was more annoyed with food and drink orders than appreciative she might walk out that night with some tips. My wife didn't even want to go back to order a 2nd drink because of her attitude. Left as soon as we finished the food because you can find music, atmosphere, and better attitudes most anywhere in Nashville.

Google
Food was great. Staff was nice. Sometimes service was a little slow and it was cold inside!! Turn up the heat! Street tacos were pretty great and the loaded gator tots were awesome! Definitely recommend!

Google
My fiancé and I were staying in Midtown and came here Friday for some live music, we enjoyed the band so much we came back on Saturday. Saturday was a completely different story- all of the staff appeared to be drunk themselves and the bouncers were the some of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. It was like they were trying to piss people off so they had a reason to kick them out. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment unless you wanna get flipped off by bar tenders and interrogated by the bouncers.

Yelp
I stopped in here during a little pub crawl in this area of Midtown which has a nice collection of bars and restaurants. This venue had too much of a DJ vibe with music that just isn't my style so I didn't stay long. Overall it seems to be a cool venue with some nice food options so other than the music I liked the place.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Titans game! I was sober, ordered the burger and was very surprised! It was delicious!! We split an order of tater tots- also delicious! After the game, the bar was moderately busy and very load which we expected at the bar! Fun place to watch a game!

Yelp
The Dogwood was lit from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. One of my friends got a recommendation from a local that our group should check out The Dogwood. It was a great recommendation. The DJ that was spinning that night was fantastic. He played a mix of early 2000s to present music. The Dogwood seems to be the place more of the locals go because I didn't see any bachelorette parties, which is the majority of the groups I observed in Nashville, and a lot of dancing. I love that everyone was actually dancing and the dance floor was packed. There are two levels at The Dogwood, the first level is the bar area and the second floor is where more of the dancing happens. I ordered the frozen Cherry limeade because it was hot and I love a good frozen drink. The drink was very sour but I was still able to drink it. I wouldn't recommend the drink unless you like really sour drinks. I don't mind sour but it was slightly overwhelming. My group was able to score one of the two outdoor tables on the lower level. They have a few bar games you can play such as giant Jenga. Overall I truly enjoyed my visit to The Dogwood. I can see myself visiting The Dogwood again whenever I find myself in Nashville.

Yelp
Always an awesome vibe with wonderful music and great drinks. I love the area and especially this bar for great times with friends without dealing with the crazy Broadway crowds. The staff is friendly as well. They offer an assortment of food so you have great options while out. Definitely a place to make a stop on your tour of Nash.

Allen C.

Yelp
Stopped by here for some beers with friends while they waited for their transport to the airport for a flight out. Non pretentious, neighborhood dive bar vibe w/ a decent drink selection. Have a bunch of cocktails "on tap" that were actually pretty solid! Plenty of seating upstairs and on the patio as well. Beers were solid, prices reasonable. We were there in the afternoon and it was a handful of friend groups having drinks and catching up. Can imagine this place being fairly up tempo at night.

Julie h.

Yelp
Loved visiting this bar while my friend and I were in town. They have cool neon signs inside and the DJ was awesome! So much so we left to try other bars in the area but loved it so much we circled back. We got drinks from every bar but enjoyed our time upstairs the most. Even ordered some quesadillas and sweet potato tots which was delish. Better than I thought I'd get for bar food and really liked whatever white sauce came with those tots!

Remi W.

Yelp
This bar seemed cool and big. Unfortunately we only got to spend about 5 minutes here before our friend got escorted out for accidentally going into the kitchen. He definitely deserved to be escorted out and about 5 minutes later he grabbed a cactus.

David L.

Yelp
The drinks are reasonable and the bartenders are nice. We came here in the afternoon so there wasn't much of a crowd.

Codi B.

Yelp
I rarely leave 1 star reviews, but when I do it means I was really impacted by the place and people. Myself and two friends were dropped off. This was close to our hotel so we stopped by. This bar has several levels and a bar or two on each level. We went to the highest level which was the loudest as that's where the music was at. My friend started a tab, so the female bartender took her card. I bought some drinks separately from my friends tab and gave the same bartender my card, but the bartender put ALL the drinks on my card, even the ones that were supposed to be on my friends and the bartender charged my friend for the separate drinks she brought as well. We went to the bar on the bottom level, my friend made a tab, that we only had 3 drinks put on. Later we realized there were 6 charges that couldn't be explained. This place is a ripoff, obviously can't keep track of customers credit cards or lets others place charges on them.

Dayana V.

Yelp
This place quickly became my favorite. I've been multiple times since February. I would much rather be in midtown than on broadway... ask the locals. The music is on point, the vibe is great, the people are nice and drinks are flowingggggg. Add a ring light for pictures and you're winning over the crowd.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, solid drinks! We were a little confused on whether a server would come by or if we were supposed to order at the bar, but otherwise a good place to go for lunch/dinner! And they have a stripper pole!

Sydney N.

Yelp
Cool bar with multiple levels. The upstairs dj was so loud that we couldn't hear each other so we sat downstairs. We got sweet potato fries that were really good and a couple of drinks. Good spot for Instagram pics

Danielle S.

Yelp
Yall....my mimosa was literally a bottle of champs with a squeeze of orange peel. This aint your place if youre a lightweight, but otherwise, it was good vibes, good music, good drinks, and friendly staff

Brian B.

Yelp
Atmosphere was great. I was there on a writers circle evening. The local music talent is pretty amazing. The bartender Natalie was attentive and engaging. She is an asset to this bar. I will be back next time I'm in town!

Kyle W.

Yelp
A bit overhyped but one of the few clubs in the area. There was a long line (about 30min?) on Saturday with 25 degree Fahrenheit weather - expecting something of an amazing experience because of how crowded it is. Drinks however were incredibly cheap for a club - got the Nashvegas and after tax it was about $12.50 which is cheaper than a cocktail at a restaurant - flavor is great even though the ingredients used may be bottom shelf. Music selection is very okay, and despite the crowded atmosphere, it wasn't quite energetic.

Richard M.

Yelp
Sorry Dogwood. This one rating is well deserved based upon your "executive chef's" decision that the super dry pork belly he let out of that kitchen was in any way decent. Bartender was nice enough. As a sports bar it has nice screens. But I should be able to chew a 3/4 inch pice of pork belly. All I got was fat attached to inedible meat. When the opportunity was given to have the chef review and I said I would accept whatever decision is made, but thought it should be half off or taken off entirely, exec chef stood by this fatty dry driftwood of a pork belly and reduced nothing. That's ok. I accept it I assume this reviews is as difficult to eat as the pork belly. Rick out.

Daulton L.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, great patrons. Service however is lacking. 1 and a half bartenders on a busy Saturday event. One bartender/server was overworked and the other was trying to juggle serving tacos and getting drinks for folks. Not their fault, this wrests upon the shoulders of poor management. Would come back again though. Edit: waited for 30 minutes for a measly taco and was given the wrong one.

Ace M.

Yelp
Dogwood not only has the best music in Midtown but also the best bartenders! Bethany was great. 10/10 recommend.

Donovan T.

Yelp
Not sure why this place only has 2 stars at the time of this review. This place is awesome. Great drinks and awesome service. Not to mention the price is great. Two levels and great music. The views are amazing and the food is not too bad; it's actually damn good for a bar. The next time I come back to Nashville I will be stopping by. Very cool spot.

Yelp
The "head of security" at this establishment is the most DISGUSTING human being I've ever encountered. I was physically pushed and then verbally berated by a male at this establishment - I went to a male bartender, who the grabbed a male security guard who basically said he couldn't do anything until my male friend (who used to be a police officer) came up and confirmed everything that happened, then the male security guard said he was going to grab another security guard to "escort the male out" and to "keep and eye on the guy" who was berating me so he wouldn't get away. There was even a STRANGER that came over and said she saw everything that happened and would stay with me to attest to it. The first security guard came back over a few minutes later and told me to tell the male who said he was "head of security" to tell him what happened. I told him everything that happened, he then said he would "keep an eye" on the male. I then responded "you're not going to do anything or kick him out?" and was clearly upset about it, the "head of security" went on to treat me like I was being insane and asked "what do you want me to do" and when I said "kick him out or do anything" he said he "didn't see anything happen so how can I do anything?" When the 2 people who saw what happened then confirmed to him the situation he said he still wasn't going to do anything. When I asked what his name was he refused to tell me, the 2 other security guards present refused to tell me, and the bartender claimed she had no idea who he was. He then told me I had to leave because he wouldn't give me his name, he also walked me out, continued to tell me he wouldn't give me his name, and when I tried to go inside to find a general manager of the establishment (not the manager of security which he claimed he was) he full on grabbed me and pushed me out. He then called me a "bitch." I am so disgusted with the experience I had here - especially as a woman. I feel so uncomfortable that I had to be berated by a male patron and continue to be berated by male staff. Especially ones that were such cowards they couldn't even admit who they were to the person they were berating. The pictures with males face circled in red is the "head of security," that's the only way I can refer to him because, again, he refused over and over again to give me his name.

Yelp
It's unusual for me to be totally unimpressed by a place, but The Dogwood is proof that it can happen. Some coworkers and I visited Dogwood after work hoping for a good happy hour special. Compared to the rest of the bars on Division, many of which offer specialty cocktails, super inexpensive apps, and other treats, their offering was puny. It was a slight discount off well drinks and certain beers, and a moderate discount off a few appetizers. The bartender who served us was nice but not very informed about their selection of beers. He was also way over-attentive; we probably only stayed about ninety minutes but it felt like he was constantly asking if we needed another drink or something to eat, even when our glasses and plates were full. In addition to the meh menu and service, the atmosphere wasn't anything to write home about. I guess this is a part of town where the bars don't have to be distinctive or interesting to get business, but I still like my bars to have a little personality! Won't bother coming back unless they revamp their happy hour to be worth the time and money.

Aimee D.

Yelp
I was physically assaulted by their security last night. A female guard shoved me through the crowd leaving bruises on my arms. All for smoking a cigarette on the patio. Currently consulting an attorney.

Nicole M.

Yelp
The actual worst "bar" I've ever been two. Had two cocktails that apparently come from a tap, clearly lines never have been cleaned. I'm 30 and if I can't drink it... it's nasty. I asked if I could get a different drink after I had a sip of the first one; the second one just a bad but he told me I had to pay for both of them either way... you took the drink back after I had one sip and gagged... Then the bartender gave me an attitude because I didn't like the "cocktails" that he didn't even make! They were poured from a tap!!! Avoid like the plague.

Paige B.

Yelp
Females beware. Fuck all the security/bouncers at this establishment. These men are on power trips and have no issue with speaking to women like trash and man handling them. I went here for my friend's birthday. We were having a blast until I had a security guard get in my face and threaten me because I apparently sat my drink on a speaker. Proceeds to call "back up" and had me escorted out. Like what? I've heard of this abuse happening here to other women. I'm just in awe that it happened to me.

Anna B.

Yelp
The extra large mimosa is the best bang for your buck! Hand in picture for reference and only sold on Saturday's and Sundays. Only giving a 4 star because they got mad at my friend for pulling up a chair. They said "you can't move furniture" didn't realize we were at an Ashley Furniture. Overall a 4/5 spot to watch the Titans on a sunday. Order at the bar for a fun atmosphere with good food and fun drinks!! Fun music to make your Sunday funday even better

Joel C.

Yelp
Wandered into The Dogwood looking for live music on a Tuesday night close to our hotel. Found a lineup of up and coming artists singing and strumming their originals in turn one after the other. Really cool to hear fresh songs from the heart. Attentive cool bartender. Even though the bar was not fully stocked we made it work. This is exactly what I was looking for. Very happy for the most part.

Chloe R.

Yelp
Whenever I find myself at dogwood it turns into a fun time, But the Long blonde haired dj called me a white privileged female like every other chick in there when I said I appreciated the genre of music he was playing.

Jared J.

Yelp
Good food good drinks good music but it's way too fucking loud. Came Saturday at 2pm and didn't have to wait to seat six, enjoyed the food and drinks but Jesus Christ the music is blasting. There are speakers in the ceiling on every level and it's prob pretty sweet when it packs in at night but bro turn down the music when it's not even 2pm yet.

Shelby M.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Would not give this place a one star if I had to. When we walked in the front door, the host address us as Can I see Id's, Not even a hey how are you, may I see your Id would have been the better approach, then we proceeded to go upstairs and the two bartenders on Sunday complete ignored us. Did not even try to take our order. Completed unprofessional and rude. I will never step foot in that place again. I also made sure to tell everyone on that street don't bother and sadly they said they already knew

Dillon M.

Yelp
Fun bar to hit for brunch and Friday/Saturday nights! They have a dj upstairs, two big bars up there & two different outside patios!

Jo Ann S.

Yelp
Good food and good service. I'm not a huge fan of walking up (I prefer a server) and ordering but it worked really well. Food came out fast, delicious and prices were really reasonable.

Julia D.

Yelp
I was not quite wow'd by The Dogwood. Their $12 specialty cocktail tasted exactly like a White Claw or similar product, and I suspect that is exactly what it was (with the addition of extra vodka). I was unable to finish it. As for atmosphere, the decor does not grab your attention or encourage any particular mood or vibe. I was hoping the interior would reflect the beautiful dogwood flower mural on the outside of the building and go against the grimy grain of the rest of Division, but alas. That said, the bartender was lovely, relaxed, and attentive. My friend also commented on the comfortable bar stools, which were indeed nice on the toosh.

Madison C.

Yelp
PSA: I am currently enraged writing this review as we speak. The bartender upstairs blatantly ignored me for 45 minutes YES you read that right, 45 MINUTES. Now, I completely understand they are half staffed due to this alleged pandemic. HOWEVER, this bartender had a vendetta against me and my girlfriends. Do I know what it is? Absolutely not. Maybe we crossed paths in another life and she is holding a grudge towards me ??? We will never know. Anyways, SO after this whole issue upstairs by this horrendous bartender, we went downstairs and were pleasantly served in a timely manner! Overall thoughts: Does one bad bartender represent the entire establishment ? No Am I angry? Yes Will I get over it? Eventually

Elise K.

Yelp
Came here with some girlfriends to watch a playoff game. We got a spot right in front of the TV which was awesome. Bartender was super sweet, I ordered some quesadillas and they were decent. Cool vibe in there!

Brittany C.

Yelp
Dogwood is such a fun bar! Bethany is the best bartender and she made my friend's birthday!

Magic M.

Yelp
I've been going to the dogwood for a while but tonight I had such a great experience that I had to make a post. drinks were amazing and strong and the staff was so helpful and insightful. plus the dj was fire would go again

P N.

Yelp
Had some drinks and asked for tap water. They said that will be $2.00. I'm sorry but not coming back.

Chelsey V.

Yelp
Stumbled upon the grand opening and didn't even know it! We are from out of town and was walking to go to a different bar, heard music, and just had to take a detour. Security was all over the place and were very nice, loved the safety of it. Three bars and two of them transfer tabs! There's a deck and patio, with heated lamps for the winter time! There was a dance floor and live djs! Bathrooms were clean and lots of areas to sit or stand with friends! Diverse age and race groups and everyone looked like they were having a blast! Staff cleaned up empty cups and bottles quickly, and even spills. Frozen drinks, full bar, and even food! Double decker fun!!! Thanks for a great out of town experience!!

Craig M.

Yelp
Hey I'm Elle! And I'm a pretty happy go lucky person. This church at dogwood asked why I was still in a barstool at dogwood i said Idkk she said you're not supposed to be be I said ok then she got security on me and they escorted me out... didn't know the reason kist that she didn't like me this happened Roget right now

Cindy C.

Yelp
The queso dip is the best I've ever had. Drinks are good. Staff is GREAT! Stop in and try the drinks and food.

Ben W.

Yelp
Fantastic portions. I keep coming back. Food is fantastic. Beer selection is average but the staff is super friendly. They do specials Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Would recommend this place to anybody. Great place for a date early in the night. Casual bar setting.

Dakota N.

Yelp
The worst customer service I've ever experienced. The bartenders and cooks are rude. Will never spend my money here again. Waste of an establishment.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I'm giving it a two stars because the food was yummy, but I have never been treated so disrespected and poorly before. I flew to Nashville really excited to try this place. And I was in shock how we were treated... not only us but everyone around us. I honestly thought it was one of the those restaurants that treat people bad. So so so DISAPPOINTED. They brought a wrong plate to the table and the lady screamed at us like it was our fault. DISGUSTING.

Chloe P.

Yelp
Just went there for brunch and I felt like I was in the Twilight zone. No hospitality... had to walk up and ask the bartender what the hell was going on. Their brunch menu had ONE ITEM (breakfast tacos). Wtf??? Got up and left.

Amber C.

Yelp
I went here when I was visiting a friend in Nashville and the bouncer confiscated my pepper spray. I know times are tough right now so I won't name names, but he tried to tell me no one could possibly assault me in the bar because of their big security team or whatever so I wouldn't need my pepperspray. I was assaulted by a bouncer at another venue elsewhere years ago so the ignorance there is just adorable. It's crazy how men don't think women can't be assaulted literally anywhere, because we are. Real bright bulb! I know he was trying to make me feel better and do his job but pepperspray is for defense not offense, so although I did have a little fun here I would've felt better with it in my purse. Its not the classiest bar so it's definitely a place I'd want it. When he gave it back to me at the end of the night this little vault thing was filled with peppersprays just like mine. I just think this is the type of policy that needs to be revisited. Not even cops in NYC have taken my pepperspray and neither does the TSA at the airport so seems like theyre creepily disarming women. I probably wouldn't go back because of this, theres so few bars who check bags and actually take a womans pepperspray.

Carlos T.

Yelp
The security guard didn't let me in even though I had a current passport but an expired DL. Me and my buddies just went to the next bar and drank the night away. Never coming here again.

Charles B.

Yelp
this is a nice environment from the outside. once you you in, you're met with rude and standoffish staff. I was with a group of 10 people and after ordering over $100 worth of food, we were not updated not checked upon and not cared for by our server. when asking for an update from the "lady" we ordered from, she was VERY rude in response and told us it's not her problem. very unprofessional from every angle. the only reason i'm not giving 1 star is because the manager was nice after much needed complaint. will never come back.
