I loved the ice cream here from the Dolly Llama! 🍨🦙🩷 I love the story behind the name of the shop, which is that the founder fell in love with a French llama that went by the name, Dolly.💕 What a lucky little llama, and I am lucky too because I got to taste this delicious waffle ice cream! I got the flavor Party Animal 🦙🦙🩷 It was delish. 😋🩷

Great selection of ice-cream and other desserts. You can even sample the flavors before choosing. Service is great and super friendly staff. Parking is horrendous.

10/10 great experience! My wife and I were on our 1 year anniversary trip and decided to stop here after walking in the heat all day. Very friendly and fast service, and lots of custom options as well as simple ice cream. When the man found out it was our anniversary he made us a special ice cream for free, and it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place! After some time of stuffing our faces with ice cream, he also brought us more samples to try, shakes that were amazing.

Great energy in this place! the staff were so friendly welcoming and accommodating. Most decadent delicious place EVER. We went in after a heavy dinner for some dessert and oh my we were not disappointed. The waffles were light, soft and delicious while the ice cream was to die for. Truly amazing. All over an amazing place,food and customer service. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend.

The folks at The Dolly Llama were welcoming, proactively talking us through the menu and offering samples when they learned we were first timers. Ice creams are delicious, the waffles are fresh, and great care is put into building each confection. My wife and I enjoyed our bubble waffle treats and would go back again. Parking was easier to find than expected, and there are no restrooms available for customers.

Super tasty treats! They have the special bubble waffle cones (other options if you don't want that), and they fill you up with all the goods! I had a shake, but my wife tried the Sugar and Spice, and it was huge. It's definitely worth a try if you are near and like something sweet!

Everything was amazing, the ice cream, flavors and textures were perfection. And to add to that customer service is 5 stars, I didn’t get the lovely’s lady name or the gentleman that also took care of us but they were helpful and friendly. Would definitely visit again and bring my family.

Ordered door dash bc I was in a pinch. Did I pay $23 for a shake and a waffle to be delivered?! ... yes, and it was worth it, color me surprised! I was home alone without my vehicle and was craving something decadent and sweet, and found it! Beware, the shake is blue, it's not the cup, you will understand the importance of that the next day

Wow oh wow. This place is always a go to when near. The waffle is warm and the ice cream is firm. The staff is always so inviting. The small sitting area serves us just right for an ice cream date. I am sure the outdoor seating will be great once weather permits.

Great place for ice cream! They have many different flavors and toppings! The staff are very friendly and they let you try the flavors. I had the SUGAR N' SPICE which has their Signature Bubble Waffle topped with Horchata ice cream, speculoos cookies, cinnamon toast crunch and caramel sauce. I omitted the cinnamon today crunch, though. The person I was with had the DOLLY'S DREAM which has their Signature OG Liege Waffle topped with Ultimate Cookie Monster ice cream, fresh strawberries, brownies and nutella sauce. (I didn't get pictures of this one, sorry ‍‍) It's a small place so be ready to be packed in the line, but definitely worth it!

I recently stopped by the Dolly Llama for a late night ice cream treat, and it was just ok! Service was extremely slow. We had to wait 10-15 minutes just to order, and the place was not very busy to begin with. My waffle with ice cream and one topping was $11 something, which seemed pretty steep for what it was. All the containers are Blue Bell ice cream. You can see this on the side of the containers they are scooping out of. It is much cheaper to go to the store and buy it, especially as you aren't getting "Dolly Llama" specific ice cream. I probably wouldn't return just because the product and experience aren't justified by the price, but it was on my list, so I'm glad I tried it out!

We were craving dessert after our trip to blue sushi so we did a 6 minute walk to this place. The place was popping and the staff was doing their best to get to everybody rapidly. We ordered the dolly llama and party animal in bubble waffle form. Both were good but felt the ice cream to waffle ratio was slightly misaligned. It could've benefited from some more ice cream. The brownie in the dolly llama was also somewhat overpowering. The waffle though: Solid. Very fluffy and airy.

Ube ice cream is my new favorite and a must have. Had it not been for the great customer service suggesting it, I would have missed out. I recommend this place.

What a treat in uptown Dallas - we were craving something sweet after dinner and came to Dolly Llama and got the sugar rush we didn't know we needed. The biggest pro - the service. I believe the owner was there and he was wonderful. He was liberal with the samples to all patrons and seemed to genuinely care about the experience of everyone there. But even more than that, the way he treated his staff is what makes the Dolly Llama stand out - it was busy when we had went, but amidst it all he not only supported his staff, but provided feedback kindly and effectively to make sure they can get customers in and out. If service is important to you when picking a place, I absolutely recommend you visit. The dessert itself was delicious - I think our eyes were bigger than our stomach.. one is enough for two people! I do recommend you it it quickly, as as the ice cream melts, it drips through the bottom. Seating is a bit tight, so you may need to sit outside. Definitely recommend checking this spot out if you are in the area!

Standard flavors. Will be sticking to my usual bubble waffle ice cream spot. What I got: I built my own bubble waffle with cookies & cream ice cream and strawberries. I mean cookies and cream isn't all that exotic so it, again; standard. Wish the bubble waffle was a little crispier around the edges. I also tried their horchata and ube ice cream as well. Horchata ice cream was more of a plain cinnamon ice cream and ube was really powdery. Environment: Very dirty & sticky tables. The floors also had quite a bit of trash. Service: These guys rather be literally anywhere else than here. Unfortunately, this is a last resort type of spot for me.

I took a day trip with a friend to Dallas from New Orleans and added dolly llama to one of my must stops on the itinerary. Dolly llama did not disappoint . Excellent service. The employee went above and beyond to make sure we had a great first time experience. I didn't get the name of the 2 people that helped me. One was a girl that seemed new and then there was the guy that was training her that is pictured relaxing in front of the store. Upon entering, we were greeted with friendly smiles and offered samples. It was our first time here so the 2 employees had excellent recommendations and answered any questions we had. My friend got an ice cream sandwich filled with ibe ice cream mixed with brownie pieces (high recommend by the employee) and she said it was a great mixture. I got the Dolly gone nuts waffle bubble. I do plan on again next time I'm in the area.

The waffle was still warm when they added the ice cream. Sooo good. The perfect treat. The girls behind the counter were super sweet, too.

A great spot for dessert! Tucked nicely in Uptown you can stop by the Dolly Llama to satisfy your sweet tooth! I ordered the banana pudding ice cream with strawberries and whip cream in a waffle cone and let me tell you it did not disappoint! You're able to build your waffle cone a la carte or you can choose from their signature choices! One note to mention it is a bit small inside with seating limited to about 3 small tables, there is seating outside which is nice especially if the weather is nice! I also saw thar they close pretty late which is a plus for those late night cravings!

Was excited to try this place as it's one of the only ice cream spots open late. Drove to it at 10:30pm on a Saturday night, it was closed but should have been open til midnight. The phone number is disconnected.

Best sweet treat place I've been to. Grabbed a Nutella strawberries express prefection of not too sweet but just enough. Will definitely be back again. Also waffles are made on the spot

Best desert place in town. We come here whenever we need to satisfy our sweet tooth. My favorite is the sugar and spice. So yummy! They're all pretty good tbh. Service is most of the time great, maybe 1 weird encounter but still good vibes.

The Dolly Llama takes ice cream above to atmospheric levels! If you love, even like, ice cream, do your heart & stomach a favor and go to the Dolly Llama. Your heart & stomach won't regret it (maybe your kidneys will)! They are truly masters of their craft in the art of ice cream design. Only geniuses could think of combining smooth ice cream, a waffle, Biscoff cookies and the all the fixings to create a ration of scrumptious delight! I recommend everyone and their Mama (yes Mama) to come and try what will one day be known as some of the best ice cream to try in the DFW! My girlfriend and I had it after dinner and after much anticipation from it's wonderful presentation, we inhaled it (below are some of my GF's thoughts). Will definitely come again! "My boyfriend and I shared the horchata icecream waffle dessert and it was fantastic! On top of a hot liege waffle was a huge scoop of cinnamon ice cream with Biscoff cookies on top. We also added Reese's cups and Oreo crumbs because why not right? It was so good that we cleaned the plate in under 5 minutes I kid you not. I would 10/10 order that again!"

I visited 07/30/24 and I had a great experience! The staff was very friendly and the ice cream and waffle were delicious. Would definitely recommend trying this place out. There's indoor and outdoor seating although the indoor seating is limited. The place itself was very clean.

Llove this pllace! This llama-themed ice cream place is the best! They specialize in frozen treats served atop waffles! NOM! The toppings and flavors are so great- you're not going to get steered wrong with this place. It's a cute ice cream shop in uptown. It's located right off the trolly stop, so you know it's in a great location. My favorite thing about this place is the spoons that they serve the ice cream up on- they're llama spoons! Swoon! The staff was super nice, and let us have samples before we chose our flavors. I got salted caramel on a hot waffle. The cold and hot, the soft and crispy- it was a duality of flavors and senses. It was transcendent. They have some merch for sale too, if you're into llamas!

The Dolly Llama is one of the best games in town! I tried their bubble waffle "Llama Gone Nuts" that's a twist on peanut butter and banana sandwiches. It was a big scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with bananas, almonds, whip cream, and peanut butter drizzle within their freshly made and warm bubble waffle. It was delicious and it's definitely a lot of dessert for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful navigating the menu since it was my first time here. The place itself was clean and modern. Completely worth going and I plan to try their other bubble waffle creations next time I'm around!

I was so excited when I found out that Dolly Llama was coming to Dallas. I believe they started in California. I appreciate the variety and the uniqueness that sets it apart from other ice cream shops. The bubble waffle cones are delicious and I could honestly eat them alone. I'm not big on ice cream so I usually get the milkshakes. I customize mine. The last one I got was a caramel milkshake...so yummy! The customer service is good too. I docked one star because the prices are a little outrageous.

The ice cream was delicious and the service was exceptional. Jose and Iza was great and very patient while ordering ice cream. They were very informative about the company and ice cream and the flavor choices. I highly recommend. The atmosphere was cute decor. Chairs inside and outside. Btw Jose, my students found you very sweet and attractive young man.

Floors were super dirty! Staff were incompetent. Even after I told her I was lactose intolerant, and my partner was vegan, she continued to offer other ice creams! Their website advertised only 2 vegan options! We get there and they only had one! We left dissatisfied and disappointed. Never going back.

I know there's Dolly llama locations in LA but this was my very 1st visit and of all places in Dallas! It was a cold night in Dallas but stomach still calls for ice cream! I got the Sugar N Spice which has a bubble waffle topped with horchata ice cream, speculoos cookies, cinnamon toast crunch and caramel sauce. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot for a sweet tooth! I am only knocking off a star because the place is way too small and it gets super crowded. They only have 2 tables by the door inside, and I think another 2 tables outside. Definitely need more room to sit and enjoy our desserts. I also saw a big dog water bowl so they are pet friendly. The LA locations are not super near me and especially in LA traffic, I have a feeling I'll visit here again sooner than the LA locations.

BUSS W/VEGAN OPTIONS ‼‼ I found out about this place through my boyfriend (Los Angeles native) that absolutely loves it. We decided to try it out tonight for the first time at their new Dallas location! It's a small spot and there was a huge line of people inside. It smelled so great inside. I ordered the kids waffle w/vegan birthday cake ice cream + whipped cream (not vegan) & my boyfriend ordered the original Dolly Llama flavor(?). Ever since I became lactose intolerant I haven't been able to go to any ice cream spots because there's never options for me. This place changed the game - I was so impressed. I was impressed that I could eat there! The only thing I would suggest- PLEASE turn on the AC because it was hot asl in there

Went today for our son's birthday. The bubble waffle was incredible--don't settle for a normal cone! You need the bubble waffle! The picture above was Dolly's Dream. The guy working went above and beyond to take care of us. Our kids sampled just about every flavor they had. He ended up giving me a free small Ube ice cream just because! Overall great experience!We will definitely be back!

Not to be dramatic, but this place makes me feel a wee bit insane. Like, where are all the 5-star reviews coming from? I jokingly called this place a front. I'm sure it's house-made, but the ice cream tasted just like Blue Bell to my partner and I to the point where I looked it up to be sure. Not really worth the price nor hype. A bigger problem is that some flavors are powdered and mixed into vanilla which makes them pretty grainy. I don't blame anyone there and I still ate it just fine. I just don't really think the fact that some of their flavors are powdered mix-ins really jives with the fancy price tag either. Waffles were cute, though!

The place was pretty busy when we got there around 8pm on a Friday. There's 2 tables inside but most of the seating was outside. They had about 3 workers but because most of the waffles were made to order, service was a bit slower (or at least that's what I hope/ assume) Waited about 10- 15 minutes in line. Finally got to order and did a BYO plus the Gone Nuts, both on a regular waffle. Getting our order was another 10-15? minutes. Again they were truly busy so I'm not made about the wait Either I messed up and should've gotten the bubble waffle or the regular waffle just wasn't that good. It was too dense and kind of rubbery? It was made fresh so that couldn't have been the problem. I also didn't like the use ice cream very much. Maybe I was expecting too much since I've had better elsewhere but this one was very artificial in taste. The Gone Nuts was the best thing, sans the waffle. Basically I just liked their vanilla ice cream with PB drizzle and vanilla (which I could do at home) Vanilla ice cream wasn't bluebell-esque either so maybe it's made in house. TLDR: This place isn't bad BUT not totally worth it for me. It'll help satisfy your sweet tooth and after dinner dessert craving though. Maybe give it a try and opt for the bubble waffle. Hopefully you like it a bit more than me ‍

I've been here a few times and it's so freaking good OMG! I love the bubble but in a bowl, the cone is vibe but can be messy. The banana pudding ice cream is AMAZING, the waffle is FIREEEEE! perfect texture, I like caramel and Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top. 10/10 highly recommend! Customer service is great also!

Definitely worth the hype. Wait was a little long so I wouldn't advise going during the busy times but I can say it was definitely worth the wait. I'll be back!

The dolly llama has great waffle ice cream cones, and the toppings perfectly complement each ice cream flavor they are matched with. I wish they had more options in terms of bubble waffle ice cream choices, but what they do have is great.

I came on a week night and there was a slight wait. I believe we waited 10 min. I ordered their ice cream over waffle which was really good! I love the combo of ice cold ice cream over a hot fresh waffle. It's the perfect combo and the perfect size. I'd definitely come back and I heard they had a location in California!

So many fun choices! Visited the Dolly Llama on opening day and as it is usually the case, the service was a bit chaotic but I was impressed with the speed considering the waffles were made to order! I was worried that the ice cream would be too sweet for my taste but despite being quite sweet indeed, the flavors carried on through the whole dessert and my tastebuds didn't get overpowered by the sugar. The ice cream can be served over (or scooped into) a Belgian or a Bubble waffle and there are about a dozen different topping choices and 9 sauces to further customize. I went with the Bubble waffle and loved it! It was cooked to perfection! Crispy outside and hot-fluffy goodness inside. Don't want ice cream? That's okay, you can get just the waffles topped with your choice of sauces and goodies. There are also shake options but I skipped those, the waffle cones were the attraction of the day. Overall this is a fun dessert place with instagramable moments... however, expect to pay premium prices, this is not your local Braun's and your wallet will feel it so keep that in mind when you go crazy customizing your dessert.

Made this our dessert spot for the day and it did not disappoint! Although there was only one worker he got thru the line pretty fast and made every order great! I got the dolly dream and my girl built her own. We got kid sizes that turned out to be just three right size.

Have tried to stop by a few times during their business hours and have come to a closed sign and all lights off. We tried calling and phone was disconnected. Would love to know if the hours listed are incorrect or when they are open so that we can try it.

I highly recommend the Ube ice cream it's one it my favorites! The service is always friendly and you can sample the ice creams if you want. It is a little pricey but we'll worth the price in my opinion. The shop is a little small but cute.
