I saw the grand opening whilst doing my weekly errand runs and thought, why not try this place out once the line dies down. Saw a lot of ads on Facebook and looked very promising.
My bf and I can around 3:30 pm, the interior was very cute and we both love the turquoise color along with the llama! As we entered, there were small goodies of trinkets and we had to grab some (Dolly pins, stickers and keychain).
I like how the menu is big enough for people who refuses to wear glasses to see lol. The overall interior itself is small and a bit cramp but as it was their grand opening so people were packed inside to avoid the sun. Restroom is down the hall, gender neutral.
I got the BYO and bf got the Dolly Dream. Quite honestly, I rather order from the signature menu as you get more for your money. Just MHO. The ice cream was alright. We both ordered the Bubble. I didn't get the Ube flavor and I asked for crushed "Oreo" (off brand cookie) and whipped cream but I got the whole cookie and no whipped cream. In addition, my bf says he tasted no flavor from the Cookie Monster ice cream. Overall all, it was a bit heavy and I felt the sugar crash lol.
Service wise, dear god it was long. Some even complain it took them over an hour for their order. I think our order took a bit 45 mins but that's only because I think 1. They were pushing out the easier order first. 2. They FORGOT or MISPLACED ours cause the people who came after us ordered the same thing and got theirs first?!! And 3. the young worker ASKED us what our order number/name was cause...poor management. They got like two/three adults working with the kids and yet no one was managing the orders accordingly. I believe what they should have done was stop taking new orders and focus on the current orders they were getting. Dough takes time to cook and I rather eat burnt dough than raw dough...we didn't get our order all at once so my ice cream began to melt as I was waiting for my bf's order.
Price wise, I agree with some of the Yelpers stating it is a bit pricey. Especially if it'll cost you 0.75 cent for each sauce and toppings....like gosh that's almost the equivalent to the price of boba toppings! And you still get more for the boba toppings. Stingy...(O_O)
Overall, they really need to work on management...take orders but do it while being consistent. Maybe communicate amongst each other (if not done so already) of which order they're going to work on? Have someone designate for one particular station (if not done so already) and assist when needed (again, if not done so already). Because the chaotic scene we saw were customers not getting their order promptly and having to question why that was. Stop taking new orders, there should be a limit.
Last note, I heard someone made an online order and surprisingly got all 3 of their orders super quick...well gosh darn it! Lol maybe I should do the online next time instead if having to wait 45+ mins!
Overall, I'm going to wait till the hype dies down and will try other flavors.
