Twin Cities’ Biggest Restaurant and Bar Openings, July 2025 | Eater Twin Cities

"A doughnut specialist that previously operated vending machines around the Twin Cities opened a retail walk-up window in the same building as its commercial kitchen, operating Thursday through Sunday. Offerings include flavors like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, churro tres leches, and double chocolate Oreo, plus ice cream and caffeinated beverages; there’s also a 40-seat patio for guests." - Jeffy Mai

I would never have thought for a little food spot to go in this funny location in the neighborhood, but it fits in very naturally and makes the area feel more lively -- such a nice addition to the neighborhood! I stopped by to get a couple of donuts on a Saturday morning and there were families in line with many others eating donuts and drinking coffee at the outdoor tables with chill music playing. The donuts had great flavor, were very fresh, were fun/unique, and were well-priced at $4 each (as of 2025-06-28). I'll have to come back with my wife to sample the ice cream.

We absolutely loved this place! The donut-ice cream combo was the best. The staff was very fun and enthusiastic too. We’d definitely recommend a visit!

Such amazing service from the staff. I can tell they really care about their food and the community. They probably have some of the best vegan donuts I’ve ever had. Please come and support them🩷

Went here for the first time the other week and had a great experience. The donuts we got were excellent and the atmosphere was really nice. The person serving us was really cool and friendly. Even asked about the band T-shirt I was wearing and put on some of the music by them. Will definitely go back.

Incredible cake donuts. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back for the coffee and ice cream

Google
A great addition to the neighborhood. The donuts were delicious. The texture/taste of the donut itself is sort of like a muffin/coffee cake. Very moist and tasty. The standout of the donuts I tried was the Thotiana, a churro tres leches flavor, it was ridiculously tasty.

Best dang donuts I've had, I swear! Regardless of the donuts being vegan (big score for vegans), they're tasty, moist, thick cake donuts. Paired excellent with coffee! The staff are always friendly, customer service is great, and communication about orders and wait time is excellent here. Don't sleep on this place, they're amazing!

Yelp
Stopped by today because I had bought one of the too good to go packages of vegan donuts. I was not expecting many in the bag since the price is only $6, but there were 6 in the bag! I had one with vanilla icing and sprinkles and it tasted amazing, they still tasted so fresh. I'm excited to try the rest of the flavors in the bag and share with my family! I loved how it was tucked away and quieter, the patio also looked so nice. There is free street parking on the road the shop is on as well. The worker who helped me was also very nice and got my bag for me quickly. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Quirky! HERE IS HOW TO GET HERE: the intersection of Hamline and Selby has this little service road that loops to the South of the intersection and under that overpass. The easiest approach is if you're heading East on Selby, turn right just before that intersection. This is a neighborhood donut stand with cold brew drinks and ice cream. Tasty donuts! Lots of icing which I love. When I went on a Sunday afternoon, almost everything was sold out, including all drinks. The hours are kind of limited, and actually I'm seeing conflicting information about what their hours are. And when I arrived, they had a "back in 5 minutes" sign and it turns out that was because the employee was in the garden, enthusiastic about some red peppers. They've got cute little side quests is all I'm saying! They have been selling their donuts in vending machines for a while now, but I think this walk-up window place is still very new in the summer of 2025. I want to come back and try their coffee and ice cream, but I hope they will be open and available when I return.

Yelp
This Donut Trap is tucked away in the neighborhood and it is worth going out of your way for. Super chill setup with amazing donuts, coffee and ice cream. The donut base is not greasy at all and the frosting and toppings makes it a real treat. The owner, Bradley, is investing in our neighborhood and making this spot a great community space. You can find the donuts around the city including at airport vending machines but getting them in person is the best. Check it out!

Yelp
The Donut Trap just recently opened their doors and it is amazing! The owner Bradley is easily one of the most passionate, charismatic and funniest person you'll meet. I could talk to him and his team forever and that's just part of what makes this spot so fun! The donuts are delicious, they are kind of like a coffee cake base that is super tasty and compliment the toppings nicely and they have some hilarious names and themes. We had the thic judge Judy which has some cookies and cream toppings and the s'mores and crushed them both they were so good. The patio is great and the mural on their wall is beautiful. The biggest surprise for me was the cold brew, never thought I would mix coke and coffee but it gives it a refreshing sweetness that is really nice.

Yelp
Great vegan donut options at a bright, welcoming spot in St Paul. The donuts are moist and flavorful, and service is very friendly. The patio is artistic and welcoming with colorful murals and a nearby community garden. The owner has an awesome mission and has plans for many future community events at the shop.

Yelp
Awesome selection of fun donut flavors. I was hesitant because they appeared to be cake donuts. They sort of were, but they were almost more like a moist coffee cake shaped like a donut, and they were so good. The coffee was good, the guy serving (who I think is one of the owners) was incredibly nice and courteous. Lots of places to sit on a nice, simple little patio. 100% recommend if you're in the neighborhood.
