The Drexel Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Drexel feels like the CEO of a wellness company’s vacation home. It has a crisp, pristine, minimalist interior that gives one the urge to take off one’s shoes and do a breathing exercise. The space is relaxing and beautiful, especially at night, with flickering candles on each table and an ocean breeze coming through the open doors. The food here—a mix of grilled veggies, proteins, pasta, and pizza—is also paired down to just the essentials. And while that aesthetic philosophy makes for a lovely dining room, it doesn’t translate to the food as well. It's difficult to tell if there is any dressing at all on the green salad, and the $30 flat-iron organic chicken—while tasty—is literally just a $30 half-chicken on a plate. Still, the food is solid (especially the pasta options) and the price point isn’t that outrageous considering the restaurant’s location on Española Way. This is no doubt one of the touristy street’s best options, and we’d come back here to sit at the bar because the cocktails are great." - Ryan Pfeffer

After my tour, I liked the apartment enough to apply. Once I was approved, however, the communication completely fell apart. I didn’t hear anything about my lease or move-in details. It took 6 phone calls, 3 emails, and an in-person visit the day before my move-in date just to receive my lease. Never in a million years did I think I’d have to chase people down just to pay them and get the paperwork I needed to move in. That should have been my warning sign. Upon moving in, they still didn’t have my fob or car decal ready — despite me paying $300 for them. Only after being persistent and waiting in the office did I finally receive what should have been given to me upon arrival. Now, only three days into living here, I’ve been dealing with more problems. I was told on move-in day (and not before) that my room was having electrical issues. They said maintenance would come install a ceiling fan with a light — yet I still have no light in my room. On Tuesday, maintenance supposedly came by without telling me beforehand. I returned from errands to find a ladder left in my room, but no one present and no work done. I went back to the office and was told someone would be “right there.” It’s now been eight hours, the ladder is still here, there’s still no fan, and I have no idea when anyone will actually finish the job. It’s unacceptable and frankly concerning to not know when someone will be entering your apartment. Long story short: This place is not worth it. I’ve been here less than a week, and the experience has already been terrible. Unless you have unlimited free time to keep going back to the office to fix problems that should have been handled before you moved in, don’t bother. UPDATE: Madison and Princess were extremely helpful and contacted Maintenance for me multiple times. After posting this review I was also contacted by corporate to resolve the issues. I appreciate that.

The trash near the lofts is constantly always overflowing. The dumpsters are also left in the way of the entrance making it hard for two cars to actually fit. It’s not only hazardous, but it’s also just embarrassing. To have company over and then they see all the overflowing trash outside as soon as they pull in is just disgusting. If this was a one time occurrence , I would understand; however, It has been this way for months now. It’s a consistent issue. This should be fixed by tomorrow because there is honestly no excuse for this mess.

I recently toured The Drexel Collective in Dunwoody, and I was thoroughly impressed. The property was immaculate, and Madison, our guide, did a fantastic job showcasing all it has to offer. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. One of the standout features was the gym—truly the star of the property! It’s spacious, well-equipped, and perfect for fitness enthusiasts. If you’re looking for a high-quality apartment in a beautiful setting, The Drexel Collective is a fantastic choice.

Heartbreaking Experience 😔— Management Should Be Ashamed I never imagined I’d have to write something like this, but my elderly dog is dying of cancer. He has given me unconditional love for years, and in these final weeks of his life, all I’ve wanted is to make him comfortable. But because the elevator in this building has been broken for over three weeks, and is now more than a year past due for inspection, I’ve had no choice but to force my dog to painfully climb 4 flights of stairs multiple times a day. He can barely move. Each step is a struggle — his legs tremble, he drags his legs up the stairs and it’s absolutely gut wrenching to watch. No one should have to watch their dying pet suffer like this because of ongoing neglect from building management. I’ve submitted requests. I’ve asked for updates. Nothing. No sense of urgency. Just empty promises. This isn’t just an inconvenience — it’s cruelty. And it’s a complete failure of basic responsibility. If management can’t even maintain something as critical as a functioning elevator — or follow the law by ensuring it’s inspected on time — then they shouldn’t be in charge of people’s homes. His final days have been harder all because management can’t do their job.

I’m truly impressed with the new management team—especially Tiffany, the property manager. She’s been fantastic. I had ongoing maintenance issues that were ignored for months by the previous management, but everything changed once the new team took over last month. Tiffany personally made sure my concerns were handled quickly and professionally. The communication, responsiveness, and overall care have been outstanding. It finally feels like home again. If you’re considering moving in—do it. The new management really takes care of their residents. Big thanks to Tiffany and the team for turning things around!

The place has improved a lot the cleaning, maintenance and security. At the leasing office you will find Christine Hudson. She is the best and most helpful person in the office. She knows everything about the units, floor plans and she has the gift of serving customers. Very friendly person.

Renewed my lease just before new management took over and I really regret it. I can’t wait to get out of here as the experience under this new management has been terrible. Trash overflows the dumpsters for weeks before being cleared, the gates have been broken for several weeks, the pool is disgusting and not maintained regularly, half the parking spots in the garage are covered with trash, random amounts on monthly bills with no itemized breakdown any longer, maintenance requests take forever to complete, and general communication has been AWFUL. The community has no clue what’s going on and management has no care to keep us informed. I’m embarrassed to bring people to this complex. I’m sure I will receive some AI response to this post about how they value my concerns and take them seriously and I should reach out. Unfortunately, trying to get anyone to answer a phone or email is almost impossible. All these issues, but hey at least they got the curbs painted a different color in front of the leasing office. Don’t fall for the face lifts they are trying to give the community, the living experience is miserable.

Yelp
UPDATE: The Drexel Collective community has corrected the situation. Monique, the leasing manager took over the situation and worked very hard with upper management to correct the situation and find me a different unit. Tamia helped me with the lease and was also apologetic with how everything went down. I believe this whole situation has become a great opportunity for growth and development in importance of communication. I would also like to thank the maintenance team for all the extreme hard work for preparing my unit. I appreciate you guys!

Yelp
Rating 5 stars so comment can be viewed ...The first day I moved into this apartment the toilet had a leak and I had to repetitively call maintenance to come fix the issue, and it took them almost a month to tend to it. , And it was the same situation when my air conditioning unit went out. Maintenance will never call or let you know when they are visiting they will just enter your house. There were three different occasions where maintenance has just came into my house while I wasn't at home. In one of the occasions they locked me out of my house and I had to wait till the next day to get inside because the office was closed. There are roaches and mice running throughout the hallways every night. The gates are also never closed and my neighbors constantly complain about their cars being broken into. There is nothing "luxurious" about these apartments.

Frances M.

Yelp
If I could put zero stars I would. They just switched management we were hoping for a positive change. Nope. Our washer has been broken for over a month with multiple service requests and nothing. Promising a replacement last week. All gates are open, first week they came in said it would be fixed in a week or two. The only thing they have focused on is repainting the place. To top it off my husbands tire was stolen off his car. Promise of luxury apartments is fake.

Yelp
This complex has the worst management team I have ever had to deal with. There was a flood in my unit, they did not reach out to me or communicated with me in any way of the extent of the problem. The lack of respect for their tenants is beyond appalling. There was no resolution nor empathy. This is the worst experience I've ever had living at an apartment complex. Their management staff is incompetent to say the leas.

Yelp
Josh from maintenance did a great job at helping with my emergency in my unit. Very friendly and efficient!

Yelp
I made an appointment online for a tour and received a confirmation email. I showed up on time to a sign saying the office was closed for President's Day. This was my second attempt to get a tour. The first time I called and they said they were too busy and to make an online appointment. I did so, and nobody is here. There won't be a third try. This reflects extremely poor management - I have a feeling I have dodged a bullet here.

Yelp
A Disheartening Experience: Neglected Maintenance and Security Concerns I moved into drexle collective with high hopes for a comfortable and secure living environment. However, my experience thus far has been marred by persistent issues that have not been adequately addressed, leaving me disappointed and concerned about the overall quality of living in this community. One of the most significant issues is the state of maintenance within the complex. Despite reporting several maintenance requests, it's disheartening to note that some of these issues have remained unresolved for over a month. From broken old appliances to faulty electrical wiring, the delay in addressing these concerns has significantly impacted my quality of life within the apartment. Furthermore, the security infrastructure of the complex is a cause for serious concern. The main gate, which has been broken for an alarming 16 months, poses a significant security risk to all residents. This prolonged lapse in security not only compromises the safety of the community but also leaves us vulnerable to potential threats. I've raised this issue with the management multiple times, but unfortunately, there has been no visible effort to rectify the situation. The lack of urgency in addressing these maintenance and security issues is disappointing, and it reflects poorly on the management's commitment to the well-being of its residents. Living in a place where basic maintenance is neglected and security is compromised is not only inconvenient but also unacceptable. I urge the management of drexel collective to prioritize the safety and well-being of its residents by promptly addressing these longstanding issues. It is my hope that my concerns, along with those of other residents, will be taken seriously, and immediate action will be taken to rectify the maintenance and security issues that currently plague our community. Prospective tenants, beware: Until these issues are addressed, living in drexel collective may not be the secure and comfortable experience you're seeking in a home.

Yelp
Wade Baguell has truly exceeded my expectations once again. He handled all four of my problems in one day, which is amazing. His professionalism and efficiency are great. Out of all maintenance men he's the only one who completes the job the right way, and doesn't take the easy way out. Thank you for going above and beyond. I highly recommend him for any maintenance needs!

Yelp
Disappointed just taken over by PAC. Didn't get to enjoy the pools this summer, stereo's blasting, smoking weed, leaving trash out by the grills. The pools have become a place for people to party rather than relax. Rude leasing agents, broken gates, security that sits in their vehicles and doesn't walk the property. It's been a mess. Hoping that the property will change hands again at some point

Sharon G.

Yelp
Ms. Tamia Clark was fabulous. She assured that my move in went very well. Thanks and if you decide to live at this property please ask for her she will go over and beyond....Happy tenant

Yelp
Like most in the complex the idea of new management sounded promising considering the old management was not very good. However, the new management are nothing short of con artists. No matter how many times you call the office no one will answer, and submit all the maintenance requests you want nothing will be fixed. That being said it is not the fault of the employees, management is to blame for being too greedy to hire an adequate amount of workers. New "management" also apparently changed the gym hours so that it does not open until 9am. Now I cannot workout before I have to leave for work. The gates stay open and there is no security. So naturally my car was broken in to last week. To sum it up if you are thinking about renting here do not do it. The idea of luxury apartments is a facade made by management to trick people into paying much more than what they are getting.

Yelp
I have lived here 15 years. I have seen many management companies come and go ,good and bad.Since PAC mgmt recently took over. They have been working hard to improve the bad conditions they stepped into and are doing a great job. Mark Morales is a caring office manager!! He does what he says he is going to do to help you. The pool has been fixed and is kept clean . we have a 2 story, gym a beautiful clubhouse and there is a new splash park across the street from the complex. you can walk to the perimeter mall and the many restaurants and businesses close by. Don't listen to all these bad reviews. A lot of those conditions they are complaining about. We're here before the existing management company now started. I have seen many improvements that they have made, and they are continuously working on correcting a lot of the problems that they stepped into. Tamia and princess are too great leasing agents in the office Wade with the Maintenance team is awesome.. yes the office does pick up the phone when you call. they are working diligently on getting the gates working again. I would highly recommend living here to anybody that asks me.Great job PAC management
