Asia’s Coolest Winter Hotels (Literally)

"Perched high in the Himalayas, this One–MICHELIN Key sanctuary named after its late founder — a businessman and art collector — exudes calm from the moment you arrive. Yoga decks, an Ayurvedic spa, and a Himalayan salt room set the stage for a restorative wellness retreat, and this winter an all-inclusive three-night stay features nourishing meals, warm nonalcoholic beverages, a personalized Ayurvedic consultation, and a rejuvenating massage. Surrounded by snow-dusted peaks, it’s an invitation to embrace the quiet solitude of the mountains, restoring both body and soul while taking in breathtaking vistas that stretch for miles." - Faye Bradley

Dwarika’s Sanctuary (Dhulikhel, Kavre) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Named after its late founder, a businessman and art collector devoted to the preservation of Nepal’s cultural heritage, Dwarika’s Hotels is best known for its flagship property in Kathmandu — a one-of-a-kind luxury hotel showcasing a museum-worthy collection of antique woodwork. Following along similar lines is the newer Dwarika’s Resort, a wellness escape located on a hillside in Dhulikhel, with sweeping views of the Himalayas. Like its sister hotel, this resort pays homage to regional tradition in both style and spirit. Its architecture is inspired by the building techniques of the native Newar, constructed using local materials like wood, earth, and stone, with an infrastructure underpinned by age-old practices from rainwater harvesting to solar energy." - Tablet Hotels

Outstanding customer service. Absolutely breathtaking property. It felt magical. My room had enormous windows with views of the Himalayas. The entire property is geared towards relaxation and enjoying nature. It is very zen. They offer so many activities. They have meditation gurus, yoga gurus, aryuvedic doctor, a spa village and you can do an evening blessing in the meditation maze after enjoying a sunset over the Himalayas. This is truly a special and magical place. And great food… they have their own organic farm. One of the most special and memorable places I have stayed.

Sanctuary is a unique place that feels almost unreal when you arrive. The property is beautiful, quiet and full of character. You really need at least three nights to enjoy it properly. We left wishing we had a full week there. Everything about the stay was amazing, from the setting to the comfort to the sense of calm you feel the entire time. It is one of those rare properties you never want to leave.

We spent two nights here but really only had one full day to explore this large, beautiful property due to late arrival. I wish we had spent at least another night. ||The resort is very unique and lovely, built into the hillside. Our suite was very spacious, quiet and charming with a huge private terrace with mountain views. ||The resort is spread out with lots of steps. Golf carts could help transport guests with mobility issues to various spots. But best to check accessibility with the resort if a concern. ||The pool and hot tub areas were very inviting. The restaurants served tasty food with spectacular mountain views. ||Numerous areas (chakra rooms, crystal cave, salt cave, meditation maze, etc) exist throughout the property. It was fun to wander around and explore. ||Also, quotes are posted throughout the property which I enjoyed finding & reading. ||I had a facial and my husband and I had wonderful 90 minute deep tissue massages. We also did a walk to the resort’s farm where we were given a brief overview. ||A variety of activities exist from morning yoga to meditation to cooking demos and arts/crafts classes. ||A very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

This is an amazing place in every way……scenery, service, amenities, activities, food, etc. We were only able to stay one night, so did not partake in any of the many activities available. We simply enjoyed being there. All of the staff were so friendly, and at the same time professional. I would, however, like to especially thank Anmol and Kirian who went out of their way to help me after a minor fall in one of the restaurants. This is a very special place and should not be missed on a trip to Nepal.

We stayed here for 6 nights. I could have stayed longer. Its just perfect in everyway.|My biggest thanks goes to YAM. She made the stay really special. I have never been one to totally relax. My mind is always on the go. She showed me how meditation can change that. It did, a big thank you. Yam. I am now going to try meditation back home.|The various things they offer from meditation, pottery classes cookery, yoga. Walks there are two farms they own one very close the other 2 hour walk in the hills. Christal and salt rooms to use for meditation and breathing exercises. Endless opportunities 'Kiran was great making sure everything worked well. It ooze's with calm, Lots of little area to sit and relax. They have two in house doctors to give health advice. we got a two page report on our health when we got home . Advising on foods we should eat, changing our life style to a more holistic approach.|The food was great lovely meals. The room we had was a suite big lots of room and a amazing very large terrace .All just perfect.|I just loved the place so much so I want to go back even all the way from the UK.. |We also stayed in their hotel in Kathmandu also great place.

We stayed here on the first two days of our Honeymoon from the UK and it really did not disappoint. The hotel is set into the hills overlooking Kathmandu with the Himalayas in the background, absolutely stunning. The activities are very relaxing, the room was absolutely beautiful, and the staff are incredibly attentive, some of the touches they put into the place during your stay make you feel very looked after. Would recommend to anyone

My Husband and I met Yoga Shiva the day we arrived to The Dwarika in Dhulikhel, Nepal. ||He is so kind and has a wonderful joyous energy that is infectious. His wisdom and experience in Yoga and Meditation is on a higher vibrational level. ||We felt so much calmer and relaxed after each session and enjoyed communicating about everything and anything related to healing. Yoga Shiva has a vast knowledge and wisdom about so many aspects of spirituality because of his passion and curiosity to learn and practice for the sole purpose of being in service to others. ||We highly, highly recommend anyone that comes to Nepal and stays at the Dwarika Hotel to schedule a session with him. It will definitely enhance your experience and stay in Dhulikhel.

Absolutely loved my stay at Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel! I was upgraded on arrival, and everything from the stunning natural setting to the peaceful wellness spaces (crystal room, salt room) was incredible. The food was so fresh and tasty — straight from their own farm! Huge thanks to Sabina, Ashmita, Kiran, and all the lovely staff who made my stay unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back! 🌿✨
