Wife and I stopped here for a bite to eat during the Danger Wheel event nearby. This had been on my list of 'Want to go' restaurants for a while and glad we were able to stop in. Great tasting food, and the bartender was helpful in selecting a drink. Not a huge selection but we were able to find something we liked after a couple tastings. The biscuits were incredible, and the chicken sandwiches were great as well! Definitely worth adding to your list the next time you're downtown.

While visiting family, our family members brought us to the Eagle. It’s one of their favorite restaurants and I can see why; the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, informative, and fun. It was just a very relaxing meal. I was hesitant about the horseradish mashed potatoes, but they were delicious. I felt they didn’t have any heat at all just added a layer of flavoring. The horseradish enhanced the mashed potatoes and I definitely don’t like heat. The Mac & cheese was perfect. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was good - maybe a tiny bit of heat but definitely manageable for someone that doesn’t like heat. We actually found a lot parking not to far away thankfully - because I can see where it can be extra extra busy at peak hours

Had dinner at the Eagle overall satisfying but service and greater care to high standards can be improved. Came on Monday evening and sat at the bar. Ordered 1/4 fried chicken with fries and a beer. Went to wash my hands and the men’s restroom was locked. Waited for 10 min and finally gave up. By the time I git back to the bar my food was already waiting and was rather cold. I did not make an issue out of it as I was not there but in a perfect world my food should have been placed on the line and kept hot for when I arrive. Again I did not say anything so potentially I might have gotten a new/hot order had I asked for one. The food itself was great - chicken was perfect. Falling off the bone, perfect bland of juicy and spicy. The fries were also good but again - were cold so difficult to asses. Issue that I did complain about was that as I finished my fries I noticed that they were not wrapped on the bottom of the “plate” which looks dirty. I mentioned this to the barman that said that they are washed regularly. I do believe him but this is just the sort of attention to detail that you expect at the top places. 4/5 overall for me. Can easily be 5/5 if they slightly improve on those aspects.

After hearing many great things, we had to stop in and try for ourselves and we weren’t disappointed. Everything was very good! Pictures is the fried chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and fries. Our server gave a suggestion to try the grilled cheese, add a chicken cutlet. I was eerie but trusted him on it, and it was a 10/10. And for being as busy as it was, our food came out very quickly and the service was excellent. We will be back!

Sitting on the outdoor patio provided for interesting people-watching along Vine Street. The hostess, bartender, and wait staff were all friendly and quick to help. No complaints about the food, but I had higher expectations from restaurant's atmosphere. The burnt-ends were really just chunks of sauce-slathered pork -- they didn't taste/feel like smoked meat. However, the blackened shrimp & grits, southern chopped salad, and spoon bread were definitely hits at our table.

We walked in and the older lady (in the picture) was at the front. She didn't greet us and was very stand offish. She said it was a 30-45min wait for the 4 of us. We were standing at the door trying to figure out where else to go because we came from out of town and didn't know the area. About 5mins later, the younger gal walked up and sat us without saying anything. The server Elizabeth came over and looked beyond irritated and whispered when she spoke so the elder people with us had zero idea what she was saying. I asked if they had a gluten-free menu, she tossed down this little square that had some blurry words on it, then just walked away. I ended up getting the grilled chicken which was dry and was hard. The meal for 4 of us was over $100 with NO alcohol beverages. Never a place I would recommend.

Went in on a Saturday night for the first time and this place is does live up to the hype. We ordered the chicken blt sandwich with the mac and cheese and this is a very proper cheat meal. It was oily, delicious butter bread and very palatable. Will definitely come back

The chicken is pretty good and crispy but is more on the sweet side with the spicy honey sauce. It had the right amount of heat but isnt really to my tastes. If you are a chicken and waffles person it might be more up your alley.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the staff at The Eagle is outstanding! Thanks to Shelly for getting me seated quickly. The Bloody Mary was made exactly to my specification! I ordered the half chicken and a side of succotash. Absolutely outstanding! The chicken was perfectly fried. Crispy, crunchy and really juicy. The hot honey syrup just took it over the top. I really liked the vibe. Great food. Great service

Yelp
Been wanting to visit the Eagle for the six years I've lived in the area, and it just never happened until this week. My brother was in town, and we had a reservation for later in the evening for Ghost Baby. We took a group of 9 (with a reservation) and were seated immediately when our group arrived. I ordered the Chicken BLT Sandwich and my wife went for the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. We also split an order of fries. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) was delivered 10, maybe 15 minutes, later. 9 entrees and 4 or 5 sides--fries, cornbread, etc.--and 2 or 3 drinks that were ordered late. Fast service is always appreciated, but it was almost scary fast. I thought the fries were delightful. Well-salted, but also covered in a swath of herbs that made them extra tasty and unique, plus a garlic aioli that was good as well. My sandwich was good, but it didn't blow me away. The chicken wasn't very crispy, but had a well-seasoned breading, there were fresh greens and tomato, and a good italian bread. But I could not taste the avocado relish or the jalapeno honey mayo, which I was looking forward to! I didn't check to see if it was accidentally left off or just a small dollop, but the sauces being unnoticeable also meant the sandwich was a bit dry. I ended up dipping the sandwich in the aioli from the fries, and ended up still very much enjoying my meal, but it could have been a bit better. I think the consensus at the table was that everything was good, but wasn't as outstanding as we'd hoped. The service was generally very good, though about an hour after we'd arrived, we noticed several servers glancing and pointing our way. We had mostly finished our food, but were enjoying conversation and it's not like we were overstaying our welcome by several hours--it had literally only been an hour for a large party. They never asked us to leave or anything, we just felt a bit uncomfortable because we weren't sure if they were trying to subtly usher us out quickly. We paid our checks and ended up leaving probably about 90 minutes from when we initially arrived. Overall, it was a decent experience with some good food, and I would go back if in the area.

Jose H.

Yelp
Hands down, the easiest review I've ever written about a chicken-based lunch experience. The chicken sandwich was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had in my life. My family couldn't stop raving about the Mac & Cheese--they unanimously agreed it was the best they've ever tasted. The cornbread was simply irresistible, and the chicken itself was excellent--perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant's ambiance was warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Best fried chicken, highly recommend ordering a full chicken and getting sides on the side. Great way to end a trip to Cincinnati! Go Birds!

Cyndi H.

Yelp
The Eagle at OTR is a great place to go for lunch. Visiting my bearcat and stopped in. The service was great. The gentleman was very attentive and kind. The food was and is always great. We got there around 11:00 for lunch. Quickly fills up - go early or make reservations . The restaurant area is great vibe.

Carol P.

Yelp
My second time here, years ago a long wait outside, this time reservations so nice to walk in and get seated. The chicken still so good. I tried the Kale salad and loved it too! I would love to make the salad dressing at home! I don't know why I waited so long to go back!

Larissa J.

Yelp
I can see why this is a local favorite! The atmosphere inside is lively enough for bar-seaters, but still family-friendly for groups with young children. Our server was very helpful and extremely knowledgable of the menu. I ordered the fried chicken (delighted that there was an option for only dark meat). I wasn't that impressed and didn't finish my wings, comparing the taste and texture to KFC chicken, when I was expecting southern style. I did enjoy the fries with aioli and the spoonbread a lot though! For me, the spoonbread was the star of the show. Definitely will be trying something else next time I visit!

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick lunch and were recommended to go here. We were greeted pretty quickly once we got sat and started with waters. The server suggested the fried chicken sandwich, it was their favorite thing on the menu. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich and decided to share a side of fries. The food came out pretty quickly and had a nice presentation. It was extremely disappointing, especially after the long pitch you get from server when they first greet you. The bread wasn't toasted, there was a lot of slaw and barely any chicken, the chicken had no flavor, wasn't crispy, and just overall unsatisfying. I don't think we have ever had such a bland meal. I wanted to ask for more spicy mayo but the server didn't come back till we were close to finished. As someone that's from the south, this definitely wasn't a southern meal. Wouldn't recommend the sandwich.

Glenn C.

Yelp
Easy review. Great fried chicken sandwich. I skipped the mayo and asked for sweet bbq. Perfect combo. Fries were thin and light. Quantity a lot. Hushed puppies were nicely fried. Great lunch w my wife.

Christopher Allen M.

Yelp
Came during a hot day in Cincinnati while we were wandering around. The restaurant is pretty cool, I think it used to be an old post office that was renovated to be what it is now. I think the food is southern inspired and being from the south, we decided to try the fried chicken, cornbread and fries. The cornbread was tasty and not too dry like a lot of cornbreads can be. The fries had great seasoning and an excellent dipping sauce. The chicken itself was not very southern in my opinion. The skin wasn't great, chicken itself was a bit under seasoned and not as juicy as I would've liked. The service itself was really nice and helpful when looking over the menu. Would recommend getting the sides here and trying out other entrees.

Stacey S.

Yelp
Fried chicken is delicious pour some of that hot honey and it's a chefs kiss. Even the chicken Breast was very juicy! I am not a Big Mac and cheese fan but You can't say no to the Mac and cheese here. Service was wonderful.

Rose R.

Yelp
Visiting from CA! We saw great reviews. So we decided to try it. Everything was delicious and unique in flavor, some a bit spicier than I'm used to but good overall. It was very busy especially for a Wednesday night. They only had one restroom for being such a busy place. We also ordered (forgot to take a photo) the cornbread (ask for regular honey) so yummm, the coleslaw and mashed potatoes.

Margaret L.

Yelp
Satisfy your fried food cravings here! We scored bar seating on a Friday evening after a short wait. It's best to reserve ahead because the place was packed! We almost left because we thought there was no hope. The bartender was laid-back and friendly; he gave us some recommendations and checked in frequently. Food arrived pretty quickly as well. Don't skip the fried chicken, which comes with a generous side of hot honey. The meat is crispy on the outside and juicy/tender on the inside. The hush puppies and spoonbread are great as well. Price after tax and tip was $30 total. I recommend this place for a casual evening out - come with a huge appetite and a carb craving!

Teresa M.

Yelp
Awesome fried chicken! Pretty darn good hush puppies too! Stopped in to get warm, have drinks and a snack Worth the stop!

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Insanely delicious! Was with a group of 4 and we all ordered different food and shared. We loved every bite. Wait staff was excellent too!

Patrice B.

Yelp
The Eagle is always a go to! There was a 40 minute wait but we were able to co-seat and were seated within 10 minutes, so if you don't mind sharing a table it can be quicker if you don't have reservations. This place always has a great atmosphere and vibes! The food was delicious. We had one hiccup with the fried chicken BLT coming out completely cold. I still ate half of it because I was starving but the server insisted on having it remade. The second time around was even better and made up for the cold food! Highly recommend the Mac and cheese and greens. They taste homemade and always a fan favorite. Not pictured is the jalapeño peach margarita. Sooo good and the jalapeño did not over power the drink at all which I was worried about. If you haven't been check them out! Great for families, girls night or date night!

Nhi T.

Yelp
One of our favorite comfort meals in Cincy! It's a popular place and can get pretty at times but we were able to get seated immediately outside on a beautiful summer day for an early dinner. For 2 people, we like to split the half chicken with Mac and cheese and spoon bread. The crispy chicken paired with the hot honey is perfection. You can never go wrong ordering the mac and cheese. My favorite side the spoon bread! A little secret- during one of our previous visit, the bartender gave us the blackberry jam to spread on our spoon bread and now I can't have it without!

Alice T.

Yelp
We were visiting Cincinnati for the first time and decided to explore Findlay Market. While there, we stumbled upon The Eagle for lunch. The wait for a table for two was long, so we opted to sit at the bar and were glad we did. Our bartender was incredibly nice and helpful, constantly checking in on us, offering suggestions for places to visit, and creating an overall positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name as it was some time ago, but he truly made our day. The food was delicious, especially their specialty fried chicken and the pimento cheese appetizer. The Eagle is a must-visit if you're in the Findlay Market area.

Amber S.

Yelp
Stopped in here by chance and I'm happy I did. Food was sooooo good! For a Monday afternoon, it was pretty busy. We sat at the bar and Ian made sure our service was 10/10. For food we went with an order of drum sticks, the chicken BLT, mac n cheese, and fries. The hot honey on that chicken had a hold on me. They had a good selection on beer on tap.

Chad P.

Yelp
This place continues to be one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Over the Rhine. Every time we visit their food just blows me out of the water. From the basic chicken to all of the side dishes. The sweet mashed potatoes to the spoon bread to the biscuits with the jelly. The mac and cheese is excellent and top-notch! The chicken sandwich has a new name but regardless we love it and usually get it. Service is always been great and they do plenty to take care of us. It's always fun to sit outside in the warmer months as well. It can be very busy so you have to make sure you have reservations and you should call at least a day before as they do not take same-day reservations. There's also a parking garage nearby just in case if you don't want to find any street parking. I've had a birthday or two here and will continue in the future. Thank you for being an excellent institution in Cincinnati and Over the Rhine!

Rochelle K.

Yelp
I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try based on the great reviews. I called ahead and ask about the wait time since I was on a time constraint. The guy who answered the phone was very pleasant. Parking can be a bit difficult since its located in downtown, but luckily I found free parking on a Sunday. Inside the restaurant it is not so big as I expected. It was a bit busy since the Cincinnati Bengals were having a home game. Me and my boyfriend was seated at the bar and the service was very good and quick. We ordered the fried chicken, corn bread and the sweet potato with marshmallows. The food was delicious but what stood out the most was the honey sauce. The sauce was everything! Definitely what brought out the fried chicken. I had a good experience at this restaurant and would return again when I'm in the area.

Kelli R.

Yelp
The eagle is a stole in cincinnati OTR area. The best fried chicken in the city! If you see not interested is fried chicken they also have a large menu of other items including a grilled cheese. The Mac and cheese was to die for with fresh bread crumbs and gooey melted cheese. It you are looking for an upbeat fast pass restaurant this is the place. There is only street parking so we ubered.

Faith C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch while in Cincinnati. Two locals recommended this place. Sat at bar, bartender was friendly. Ordered full size Southern Salad...very unique flavors and additions to a salad. Great portion, would have preferred housemade Bleu Cheese dressing. Sweet Tea was delicious!! Seems to be a popular place. They may need to adjust bathrooms. Line formed for both genders. So by the time I got in to use single stall and wash my hands, my food was out in the open at the bar. Wish bartender would have waited until I returned to my seat before leaving my food out.

Mallory P.

Yelp
started with the hush puppies & biscuits and MMMMMM they were both SO! so delish bf ordered the fried chicken sandwich (pickles on the side for me) and he looved it! i ordered the drumsticks and they were just ok :/ chicken was dry and the skin wasnt crispy at all. i only ate 1 out of 5 and regretfully didnt mention them to our server to get it taken off the bill, but whatever i guess lol we shared the fries and they were great! overall, i would definitely go back & likely just order a handful of snacks/sides to share- the mac n cheese and collards looked deeeellicious so definitely need to try those next time!

Nicole Y.

Yelp
This review is for delivery. I had the collard greens, Fried Chicken (Dark Meat), Biscuits, Collard Greens and Shrimp and Grits. I ordered from Uber Eats (twice/back to back because I forgot the biscuits and wanted more greens). The food was packaged well, it was still hot when it arrived. The only issue is that I requested utensils, hot sauce and napkins and that wasn't provided both times. It is sort of hard to eat Shrimp and Grits and Greens with no fork. We were in a hotel, not at home, so it was inconvenient. At first, I shrugged it off, but then my second order arrived with no utensils as well. When offering carry-out/delivery it is important to give customers napkins and utensils, especially when requested. I requested in the add on section and there is button to request them as well. For whatever reason, the request was ignored with both orders. The Chicken and Greens: 10s across the board. I don't eat everyone's greens. But their greens are worthy, ok! Perfectly seasoned. Great flavor. Tender but not too tender. They have a nice little kick. Very good. The fried chicken...same. Well seasoned, fried well, great breading. It was awesome. The honey is good. It has a unique flavor. I liked it, my friend is not a fan. Hopefully, I will get to try it in restaurant . The food sat for a while because I had to go hunt for utensils. I am sure the food would have been even better if I was able to eat it when it was first delivered instead of hunting for utensils. The Shrimp and Grits: They were pretty good. It's definitely worth a try. The shrimp are a good size. The grits are good. I personally wouldn't order this again, but it was decent. Someone else may love them. The Biscuits: They look a little more buttery than they really are. They are a little salty and a tad bit dry. I give them a 7 out 10. Overall, I loved it. Not sending the napkins and utensils was really inconvenient because I was in a hotel not at home. I would definitely go again. Highly recommend.

Don W.

Yelp
I hit up the old Yelp app for this place. Big star ratings, and lots of positive reviews, but honestly it was all the awesome Yelpers pics of the food that sold me on stopping here. I'll start with the negative and end on positive. Location and parking. Not much they can do about the lack of parking, but it was still a hassle. Parking off street several blocks away means you're going to encounter some less fortunate individuals on the street. Again, not directly their problem, but the location and trying to get there kinda sets the tone. Staff and service. Showing up on game day and the place being busy would take a toll on any staff member. Everyone was nice, but just as much as they needed to be. I'm not looking for a foot massage from my waitstaff, but smile and look like you care. Bare minimum doesn't make for a good experience either. Cleanliness. Again, I know they were busy because it was game day. We were seated by the hostess at the bar before the dishes from the previous customers were removed. Then nobody wiped the top down before handing us menus. Also, fruit flies don't spawn only on Sundays. The fact that I'm swatting at multiple intruders while trying to eat, means there's an issue. Flavor. There was just a few things here. The mac n cheese was good but I just couldn't taste cheese. Their 5 blend of cheese was creamy but just bland. The crumbs on top didn't add much. Just no pop of flavor. Then my fried chicken BLT had some awesome mayo and relish on it but they must have been running low. I could only taste them about every third bite. Now the positive stuff. Price. I thought my sandwich for $13 and my mac n cheese for $8 was pretty reasonable. Menu. Not a lot of options but enough to get a decent meal. The few things they had was a broad enough variety to get what you're craving. They are definitely focused more on the drinks. Food. Overall everything was good. With a little more jalapeño honey mayo and avocado relish, my sandwich would have been perfect. Maybe switch out the crumbs for Italian crumbs or something with flavor and I would have been happy. Bathrooms. Actually cleaner than most. With the exception of no paper towels, everything was good there. Guys are pigs and they looked acceptable. Weighing everything out, I'm glad Yelp found this place and I stopped to try it. Unfortunately if I'm back in the area, I'll be hunting for a different place to try.

Laura T.

Yelp
Terrible food . Carryout . Spoon bread was burnt and so was fried chicken. Chicken sandwich had raw bacon and chicken was also burnt. Only decent food was the grits . Very expensive and very disappointed. Food was simply awful. Chick fil let would have been much better

Bailey D.

Yelp
The Eagle is consistently one of my favorite restaurants in OTR, and I have to update my previous review to once again sing its praises. My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and snagged a table outdoors to take advantage of patio season while we still can! Our server, Abby, was so friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food, as always, was spectacular. This visit, I tried the Fried Chicken BLT, which might just be my new go-to order. The chicken was moist on the inside, crispy on the outside (as is the standard here at The Eagle.) The lettuce and tomato were fresh and juicy, and the bread it was served on toasted to perfection. This sandwich is huge - and I was only able to finish half of it at the restaurant. Thankfully, The Eagle always makes great leftovers. You can't go wrong with any of their sides -- this time, we shared the Mashed Potatoes and the Spoonbread. I also have to shout out The Eagle for its awesome prices -- we walked away spending less than $50 for SO much food. In a world of seemingly never-ending inflation, I always know money spent here is money well spent. Keep on doing what you're doing, Eagle! I'm sure I'll be back again soon.

Jessie A.

Yelp
Ian was awesome! We came here to celebrate the life of our family member who had just passed away today and he truly made it a fun and comfortable time for us. Didn't rush us out and stayed engaged with us the entire time. Thank you for that. And the food was delicious!!

Dave J.

Yelp
Here's the deal : good spot! delicious chicken ! Mac & cheese was yummy. Cornbread was dry.... Service was great ! Great spot to grab drinks at the bar. Good spot to go to in the area

David D.

Yelp
Ian was our server and bar tender. He is extremely sociable and friendly. Ian did his best to help us understand the menu and what offerings that were available today. Food is always excellent and served very quickly.

Lauren F.

Yelp
I love their Buffalo chicken dip. It's so yummy. Most times, I opt for the chicken sandwich or eat the dip as a meal. Drinks are good and there's always a crowd.

Deacy T.

Yelp
Walked in and was seated right away. Service was awesome and food is amazing! Restaurant has a warm and cozy feel to it. Would definitely eat here again.

Teresa L.

Yelp
The food is pretty good, like the mac n cheese and chicken, but service was so slow. My cocktail also had like no alcohol in it and was too sugary.

Juls B.

Yelp
Ambiance: walking back in time. We wanted to eat inside for the German vibe of old post office. Arrived at 5:00pm. Long wait. Was told and hour and it was a bit over an hour on a Sunday night. Had to share a table with another party of three. Never had to share a table with a divider block so that threw us a bit. We were expecting our own table especially after waiting so long. We pushed through and decided to stay. Minus one star for that. Food: we tried several dishes and shared. Very sharable portions. Mac n cheese, succotash, spoon bread (dry but flavorful) half chicken with spicy honey sauce. Raspberry lemonade and regular lemonade. Both were refreshing but I couldn't taste a difference between the two. No refills so watch that. Crispy chicken sandwich with fries. All good was really good. Mac n cheese highlight! Chicken was a bit dry but I had the white meat which is usually dry. Still good though. My husband really enjoyed the spicy honey sauce. Service: lots of smiles and great menu suggestions by our server Andrew. Would recommend if you are in the area but highly suggest reserving ahead of time.

Aaron I.

Yelp
Great fried chicken. The sides were good, but not the calling card. It is a great place to visit in the fun OTR district.

M M.

Yelp
Four of us had lunch here and all the meals were good. I had the small version Southern Salad and it was still large. The chicken BLT was enough for two people. The fried chicken had light, tasty breading. Also tried the mac and cheese and a side of biscuits. We would come here again.

Joanna C.

Yelp
We had been wanting to try this place for a couple years now. We are native Texans and this was our second time in Cincinnati and we had heard a lot of great things about this place. I will say you definitely have to make reservations ahead of time as this place can get pretty busy! as we walked in, the host was cheerful and pleasant, and she walked us to our table quickly! Since we were a large group, we had to try a little bit of everything to share! The macaroni and cheese was decadent and delicious! The buffalo chicken dip had just the right amount of spicy and delicious! The chicken sandwich was definitely shareable! We will be coming back on our next trip to Cincinnati!

Brittanya C.

Yelp
STILL AMAZING. After moving back to Cincinnati, I am happy to say The Eagle still got it! My friends and I decided to have them cater our Friendsgiving. Everything was as amazing as I remembered. We had chicken, mac n cheese, loaded sweet potatoes, and spoon bread. Absolutely delicious. I'll forever be a fan.

Ally R.

Yelp
We originally chose this place because it was the only spot open for lunch on a Monday. Brad the bartender was very attentive and friendly. My husband is pescatarian so there was not much to choose from on the menu entree wise but we did sample the pimento cheese platter, Mac and cheese side, collard greens, and cornbread skillet. I am very picky about pimento cheese, but this one was good. The highlight of the cheese board was the homemade pickled green beans and pickles - so so good, the green beans are a must try! If you are used to good ole fashioned homemade collard greens from the south , these will not be the best you have tasted but they are still okay. I tried a local beer after finding out the tax on locally made alcohol goes to the schools. I had the Bubbles from Rhinegeist (photo). If you like a sweet refreshing rose flavor this beer is for you!

J L.

Yelp
Stopped in for an early lunch on the recommendation of a co-worker. We were the 1st folks in the door and were seated in the secondary space by ourselves. Immediately we had our server come and take our drink order and then provided some recommendations. To go on the healthier side we ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and then split that with the fried option. This was an amazing choice. Both sandwiches were exceptional and had very different taste profiles. This was probably the best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. Tender, perfectly cooked, and had a savory sauce and crunchy pickles to boot. The fried sandwich was perfectly done and very good served with slaw on a soft and tasty bun. The cornbread was a great dessert finisher as it was sweet and had great chucks of corn on the lower side. Highly recommend all 3 options!

Connie H.

Yelp
Finally came on a day they had reservations open! Can see why it's hard to get one! Food was delicious, southern comfort at its best. Service was great. Cool little place!

Noah B.

Yelp
The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are all solid. Definitely a place I recommend to people!

Mike M.

Yelp
I had dinner at The Eagle tonight after arriving in Cincinnati. I read that it was a very popular restaurant with a specialty in fried chicken and I made a reservation a few days ago. At that time I was told that 5-7 pm was their busy time and I was able to snag a 6:45 pm time. When I arrived I noticed that they had inside seating along with covered sidewalk seating along with an attractive bar that's available too. My reservation was honored on time and I noticed that seating space started opening up right at the time of my reservation as predicted. I knew what I wanted to try so I ordered the 1/2 fried chicken for $16 and added a side of cole slaw for $3. I would have added another side dish but that was plenty of food. It arrived in about 10 minutes with a small decanter of their spicy honey. I started with the slaw first for a taste and noticed it was quite a large serving and probably enough for 2 to share. It was light tasting and good. Now for their famous fried chicken. It's advertised as double brined for 24 hours and pressure cooked. I don't mean this in any negative way but its appearance and crust is similar to the original recipe KFC chicken (not crispy). Taste wise, I thought the chicken was juicy and flavorful and there was plenty of meat on the bone. I tried the spicy honey a few times on the meat and did not fall in love with it. That honey has Tabasco and Sriracha sauces blended in it that gives it a medium kick to it. Not overpowering but you can definitely taste it. I guess it's an acquired taste but I prefer regular honey only or none at all. No points off for this as the use of the spicy honey is optional. Maya was my server and did an excellent job. Personable, helpful and friendly. Ask for her as she is excellent! This restaurant is located in an entertainment district in downtown with many other bars and restaurant nearby. it looks like a fun place to visit especially in the evening. Parking is metered on the streets if you can find an open space or there are paid lots and garage parking nearby.

Yelp
Visiting Cincinnati for work, The Eagle was the first place I stopped in right after landing from a flight. Boy, I saw just how nice Ohioans can be. I sat down and the bartenders were super nice and inviting. Then, a local sitting next to me bought shots for folks sitting around her and for me. Wow, I've never seen that kind of generosity just off the bat before. I talked with the locals, and the bartender delivered excellent service. The food, the fried chicken was also amazing. I'm a fried chicken connoisseur and this place passes. The fried batter was crispy and spiced well, the meat was juicy and flavorful. People really know how to make you feel welcome here, even as a solo diner. I've eaten many places because I have to travel often for work, and the atmosphere here is probably among one of the best I've ever experienced. You can see the amount of reviews I have, and that's probably only a 1/3 of the places I've been to. I went back for my last day in Cincy, and I rarely ever go back to the same place twice, but I enjoyed myself the first time around I wanted to go back to where I felt really welcomed. The bartender who was the hostess that night, actually remembered me. The new bartender made me really feel welcomed as well. I had the Chicken BLT sandwich this time, and it was also really good. I appreciated that it wasn't all meat and portioned well, with tons of fresh veg so I didn't feel completely unhealthy. At the end of the meal, I got and paid for my check. The folks at the bar were talking about how important the Bengals game was that night. The bartender actually told me that if I wanted to hang out, feel free to, and that was after I already paid my bill. I've never seen this sort of service and hospitality where I'm from (VA/DC), and I thought that was really nice seeing as how the game was an hour away. Back at home they would have the look of GTFO once they sense you are done spending. I didn't stay for the game, but I appreciated mentioning that and tipped him well. If I'm back in Cincinnati I would definitely come back here, not only for the delicious food, but also for the great staff and locals who hang out here.

Yelp
The Eagle is a true treat to visit. As expected with a Thunderdome restaurant, the food is spot on, vibe is great, and the staff ensures you are as happy as possible. This time, I ordered a half chicken and split the mac and cheese. The chicken was moist, flavorful and well seasoned. They only bring their hot honey to the table as a condiment and it's all that's needed. It enhances the present flavors rather than mask them like other sauces might. Save room before your visit here. You'll leave full, happy and ready for a nap.

Yelp
The eagle served as always! Got my favorite BLT, spoon bread, mac & cheese, biscuits and jam, and fries! The mac & cheese is incredible, must try. Our server was great and was able to handle all 6 of us no problem! Vibes are great as usual, was a great place to take the family in town and have some nice dinner conversation.

Yelp
The service here is great! The waitresses are all very kind and attentive. I've been here twice now and each time I was happy with the service. The food was a bit disappointing the second time I went here because (picture below) the chicken and cornbread were not fresh. Actually the both weren't even super hot, a bit more on the lukewarm side. I still ate it since I was starving. Their fresh cornbread is AMAZING!!! It is worthwhile to go when it is busy because that was when they made it fresh for me. I would return but probably skip the chicken and have a chicken sandwich instead.

Yelp
Food is always amazing! Went a little off the normal path with the pimento appetizer. The house made pickles, pickled green beans and pimento dip were incredible. Staff is friendly and laid back setting.
