The Egerton House Hotel

My daughter and I had a fabulous 5 night stay at the Egerton House Hotel. The service was impeccable! We took advantage of the delicious breakfasts, Martini Masterclass, and afternoon tea. The front desk staff was always more than willing to offer recommendations and make dinner reservations. I loved how the staff began to remember our preferences in just a few short days. Easy walk to tube stations, fabulous dining and Harrod's. I will definitely stay again when in London next!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Egerton House Hotel. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The desk staff knew exactly who we were upon arrival. The lounge bar area is not to be missed with excellent drinks and even better service. I would suggest the classic martini as only our wonderful bartender, Chinmay, could prepare and present. The room is extremely comfortable with all amenities you would want, even if ours was a little small (it wasn't an issue as we were out all day). Every staff member was always ready to help out and/or answer questions at anytime. We will definitely return to the Egerton house Hotel, as we truly feel at home there.

The Egerton House Hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever experienced! The staff was amazing from the front desk to the waiters to housekeeping. The hotel was impeccably clean and the food was delicious. The bed was comfortable, and although the room itself was small by American standards, there was a place to put everything, so it never felt cramped, which was helpful as we were there for 6 nights. The surrounding area seemed very safe and walkable, and the restaurants we visited were all delightful.

Amazing stay at this boutique hotel. We had no idea it is part of our favorite hotel collection (Red Carnation). We stayed at several of their other hotels. ||This is very special. Wonderful people. Great food. Definitely check out their martini presentation. ||Will definitely be back!

Amazing! A marvelous boutique hotel with 28 rooms. The attention to detail was extraordinary. Every staff member knew what was on our agenda for the day (they helped arrange most of it via emails in the months before our trip). The breakfast staff always knew where we were headed and shared their tips.

Having traveled around the world and staying now in more than 1500 different properties, I can say without reservation that this hotel, it’s collective staff, it’s attention to detail, it’s kindness and it’s dedication to customer. Comfort is in the top five globally. It is rare that I leave a review, and so it must reach royalty, quality, and class. I want to personally congratulate this house for its outstanding service. As a Count And a side member of the Churchil and Marlborough families I felt a little bit like being treated as such even though they had no idea. I highly recommend this establishment for any traveler needing respite from this world and wanting to feel special.

Our stay was great. The Hotel, Room, Food and Service were perfect. The Desk Staff was terrific. Especially Dean with whom we interacted the most. He was friendly, charming and helpful with our questions, directions and the best way to get there, and recommending some great local places to dine at.

All in all, I would say this hotel appears much nicer than it actually is when you see it online. The staff is definitely friendly, helpful, and professional. I'll give them that definitely. However, this should not be rated as a fine star hotel. It just does not rise to that level. First of all, there are no bathtubs in the room. This was very disappointing to me. Far worse though are the mattresses. They are firm to the point that you feel like you are sleeping on the floor. I woke up with my body aching. One of my kids slept on the sofa bed which was miserable. It was like the worst ancient sofa bed where you feel like you're sleeping on springs. Finally, my bathrobe had a dirty tie - that was hanging in the bathroom. Stained with lipstick and orange juice. Really not ok. It was not horrible but definitely not with the expense. It is way too expensive for what it is.

I don't even know where to start... upon arrival the front desk staff was so nice to us. Gave us a quick tour, showed us to our room, and also suggested we come down for a complimentary cocktail when we were settled. The room was so pretty. We had blue striped walls, lovely blue bedding and the bathroom was roomy and nice. Couldn't have imagined anything better. The location was close to many historic landmarks and attractions as well. We made our way down to the bar to have a cocktail and we were greeted with smiles (I cannot for the life of me remember the gentleman that served us) but he gave us great conversation and we had an amazing martini... I was in heaven. He also gave us a fantastic recommendation for dinner that we thanked him for later. The breakfast downstairs continued to impress. The woman who came out to take our hot food order was so pleasant and friendly. The food was fresh and I thought the spread could satisfy anyone with sweet or salty breakfast needs. The second night we stayed we visited the bar area on our way back to the hotel at night and was greeted by Esley and since we were two of three guests sitting we got to have great conversation with him and I probably enjoyed that part the most. It was so comfortable, relaxing and refreshing after a long day sightseeing. On our way out the gentleman at the front desk offered to call us a cab for our pickup time to the airport and that was also appreciated. I would definitely return and suggest the Egerton for friends and family who are visiting the area.

This is the first and only FIVE STAR review I have written for a hotel during my European travels. My family (my husband and two young daughters) and I have been blessed to visit Switzerland, Greece, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, but our most memorable trip was to London, England and it was due in part to our stay at The Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge. From the moment I booked my reservation for the Christmas holiday I started receiving e-mails from the Reception Desk Staff who helped recommend excellent travel and meal accommodations during our stay. When we arrived at the hotel we received the warmest welcome from the Reception Desk Staff. I am disheartened that I cannot remember all of the names of those who made our stay special but they ALL went above and beyond the call of duty make this trip a visit we will never forget. Irma greeted us each day with a smile that could warm the coldest London day, and she would come around the desk to speak with my children. She always had a treat waiting on them and she personally called restaurants in the local area to ensure they could accommodate my family for dinner. My children were truly taken by David and he was so charming and inviting. The night before Christmas David allowed my daughters to help him set out a plate of milk and cookies for Santa and a plate of carrots for his reindeer. How wonderful is that??? I was so touched by his gestures of kindness as we had not planned for our children to experience our normal Christmas tradition while on vacation. David also ensured we had a plate of milk and cookies for the evening and everything was so delicious! Whenever we called from our room to the Reception Desk he would personally bring up what we needed. His service was so impressive that we made sure to call him only when we couldn't take care of our matters ourselves. On Christmas morning we were all amazed to see a plate of half eaten cookies and a munched up carrot next to the fireplace! I kept waiting for the cameraman to say "cut"; this experience was so dreamlike. To top off the experience the Hotel Manager greeted my daughters and personally walked them to the Christmas tree. To all of our surprise there were two gifts beautifully wrapped under the tree just for them with handwritten comments on the greeting cards (and we will cherish these cards forever). The girls received a hat, mitten, and scarf set which was so needed on that cool day. We truly enjoyed traveling in a much warmer condition. The gifts were so thoughtful!!!! I'm getting a little misty eyed writing this part...my stay at this hotel proved again and again that there are wonderful people in this world who not only love their profession, but they also LOVE PEOPLE. Later that day our family partook in the traditional Afternoon Tea and the place settings were so beautiful they almost took my breath away. We were not familiar with the traditional foods (sandwiches and pastries) served at the Tea, but our most wonderful server asked if there were any items in particular we would like more of. Of course, the egg salad sandwich was my favorite and within minutes we had more! I could spend a week writing about the special touches, but I'll take just a moment to name a few. The staff had a "turn down" service before bed and they folded down the sheets on our beds. They left little treats in our room which included fresh fruit, chocolates, bottled water, and our room had a premier coffee machine! Each of us had cute little padded slippers and the candle burning in the bathroom made me want to tear up my plane tickets and never go home. The adult and children Christmas stockings left on our beds will now be a part of our family's tradition for years to come. If the Lord is willing, we will make every attempt to visit our new friends at The Egerton House Hotel before too long. If you are blessed to stay here, I can assure you that you'll feel right at home. If you want to feel WELCOMED, LOVED, like ROYALTY than this is where you WANT to be!

If you have a moment to spare while traveling in London, stop to have a martini here. The service is excellent. You will not be disappointed.

I have never stayed in the hotel (though I have heard good things about their accomodations/service)...but the martinis made by Antonio at the Egerton Hotel's small and cozy bar are The Best in the World. Every time I'm in London, I make sure to drop by Antonio's bar. He used to work at Duke's (another bar famous for their martinis), and his hospitality is unparalleled. I love him, and his martinis--made with the utmost flair.

I took my mum for afternoon tea and must say that was a little bit disappointed. Maybe my expectations were to high or maybe place where I was before was so good, difficult to say. It was my mother birthday and I wanted to make it special and it was just normal. They seated us next to the door almost on the hallway. Service was good but not as good as I thought will be. The same pastry was fine but anything special. What was nice, they gave us all cakes which we couldn't manage to eat. And the huge plus is that they are dog-friendly.

I have now stayed at Egerton House three times in three months.Having been a Four Seasons guest for years I was skeptical about staying in a small hotel. I now feel like I have been adopted by the staff at The Egerton House. I never had a concierge from the Four Seasons walk me to a restaurant and introduce us to the manager of the restaurant.The front desk staff can't possibly be as nice as they present themselves though I appreciate it.Most entertaining of all are the two bar tenders who have stories to tell from all over the world and make an amazing martini...I have missed plenty but would foresee many more trips to London and The Egerton....

What a special place to stay. It truly has that "old England" charm. What truly sets the Egerton house apart, is the staff. Welcoming, helpful and overall pleasant - our stay was absolutely seamless. From the moment we arrived, where they let us check in early while we had coffee in the drawing room, we knew our stay would be great. The location of the hotel is very unique - situated on one of the wealthiest streets in London nicknamed "billionaires row", each walk to the french patisserie down the street passes by some of the most well maintained and beautiful townhouses in the city. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back!

Amazing Martini, the service was fantastic. Christmas ornaments decorated fireplace. A great experience. Best Martini in London. Esley is the best !!!!

If you love feeling like royalty, you will find this small upscale hotel near Knightsbridge particularly enjoyable. We were treated well and everything we asked for was taken care of by attentive and knowledgeable staff. We stayed three nights in Suite 21. We liked the clean, beautifully decorated and well-appointed room with a comfortable king size bed and really fast internet. It comes with almost every important amenity and we appreciated the quality in the design, fixtures, bedding and furnishings. It was obviously designed by those who understand and are willing to invest in excellence. I wanted to give the Egerton five stars because the employees treated us like royalty, but I can't. Some things are just different about a structure built in 1800's. By American luxury standards, room 21 is small, maybe about 200 sq. ft. and there are too few electrical outlets for recharging devices like computers, smart phone and tablets. The bathroom is small and there isn't much space to lay out toiletries. But still this is a great place to be pampered and card for.

My husband and I could not decide whether to stay at a large glitzy hotel or an equally luxurious boutiquey hotel, and I am thrilled that we opted for the latter. The Egerton House Hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways, beginning with a very warm welcome (very early in the morning) to two very weary travelers. We were instantly swept away by the classic charm, and ecstatic that this did not translate to being old, dated or stuffy. In fact, the Egerton House was immaculately clean, well-maintained, and in a location well-suited for shopping and insulated from huge bands of tourists (but great for tourists like us who wanted to see and experience the city without a Times Square feeling). We absolutely loved making a stop at the Drawing Room bar, which my husband credits with London's (and in his experience, world's) Best Martini. We already know where we will stay the next time we make our way across the pond.

Fantastic vegan tea! Very friendly staff in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere along with a delicious afternoon tea all combined for a wonderful experience.

We just had a lovely breakfast here. I got an Salmon eggs benedict and a soy latte. Not a lot of places carry Soy in England. The food was amazing. I can't wait to go back and actually stay at the hotel! My boyfriend always stays here when he travels to London and raves about the service. The martinis are his favorite, and he is quite the fan of Antonio. I don't drink, so I will never try the martinis.

This was my first stay at the beautiful and luxury Egerton House hotel. I was there with my Husband. Recently we got married so we were on honeymoon and were super excited about this trip. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff with flowers. Staff was really amazing and courteous. Egerton hotel's architecture was inspired by world renowned designers and is the most lavish in look and feel. One of the staff member guides us to our luxury room. The rooms at Egerton house hotel were spacious and warm. Room was furnished with rich and high quality furniture. Beds were comfy and warm decorated with British handmade mattresses and the finest linens. Overall atmosphere of the room was cozy giving an awesome private feel.

We had afternoon tea with our two children here and it was lovely. They could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Relaxing atmosphere, and great service. Food was great and they have a little prince or princess tea with hot chocolate and the three tier tray of goodies similar to the adult one. Highly recommend!
