The Best Restaurants In Issaquah - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Every city needs a diner, and we’re thankful that The Egg & Us is Issaquah’s. There’s a steady weekend brunch rush, the smell of griddled pancakes, and a recently refreshed interior. Yeah, you might have to wait upwards of a 45-minute just to have access to two over-easies and wheat toast that you could whip up for a fraction of the cost at home. But that’s the fun of it all." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Google
I ordered the Migas, which was specifically a Hispanic/latin breakfast menu item. Cheese and chorizo and Tortilla chips with cream and hash potatoes on the side. My partner got the avocado scramble. Everything from the friendly staff to the high quality food and the reasonable price made this place immediately shoot to the top of my brunch list. Meal for two came to about $60, absolutely worth it. Thank you!

Google
Great food and drinks! Chorizo items are a must! Benedicts are 10/10! Cinnamon roll was to die for came after my entree but they made it right. Great place great waitresses quick and easy!

During COVID when this place burned down we were so sad. They have rebuilt the restaurant and it's so nice now. The food has maintained great quality and variety. It's our go to breakfast place.

Martin M.

Google
We went for Saturday brunch around 11am and we had to wait around 20-30 min. There was a wait-list already when we arrived. It's a popular place but the turnover seems to be pretty quick. So come early if you want to get a seat quicker. We tried 3 items on the menu and they were all solid. The lemon ricotta pancake was very good, and so was their chicken fried steak. We also tried their chocolate banana bread and it was also good. The kids love them and devoured it. Nothing was left behind. All the servers was kind and attentive. Even after we left the place, there was still customer on the wait-list waiting for a seat. So expect some wait time when you come here. They also have bar seating/countertop seating, so if you are solo diner just the 2 of you, you can get a seat easily. I would recommend this place and I will be back when I'm down in Issaquah again!

Kristi

Google
I’m telling you now…go have breakfast here!! Great food! Presentation was beautiful when I had my lemon ricotta pancakes delivered to me. The Issaquah strata was a hit too! So delicious!! Oh and the banana bread they have on the menu is an absolute must breakfast appetizer! Everything about this place was 5 ⭐️ stars! Even the colors of the interior were perfect. So inviting and cheerful and welcoming. I’ll definitely come in here again.

James D.

Google
This is one of those places that gets either 5-star reviews from good folks, or 1-star reviews from Karen's who are mad 'cause the place is so hoppin' that everything isn't catered to just them. Great bunch of girls with attitudes. Management is present and engages with patrons. I'll be back.

M C.

Google
Five star! I am actually wondering why this place “only” has 4.4 stars on Google. Lemon ricotta pancakes are fab, huge portions, great service and vibe. Even the chicken sausage is “not your usual” side add on, it’s super yum. All for very reasonable price.

Google
They're back!!! Such a happy way to start the day. Staff is friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Our coffee cup was never empty. Perfectly portion breakfast and still delicious. Great options for everyone. There is also a small patio for sunny summer days. The only way the could make it better is to have music inside. Will definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great! The food, the service and the ambiance. The entire experience is what you'd hope it would be. We go as often as possible.

Yelp
First time here and absolutely loved it! Interior is very bright, cozy, and welcoming. Staff are kind and attentive. There's plenty of parking outside too. I ordered the Popeye Omelette with a side of hash browns and a biscuit. Great portions for the price you pay and everything tasted amazing! Omelette was stuffed with fillings and cooked perfectly. Hash browns were nice and crispy. I got to try some of their pancakes and they're so fluffy and taste delicious! Highly recommended to come for breakfast or brunch!

Yelp
So I had added this to my own Issaquah bookmarks a while back because it looks so cute and got good reviews. I finally got the opportunity to try it yesterday and well, it was not what I expected. As all brunch places are on weekends, it was busy af. We had to wait 30+ minutes to get seated. Fine nbd. We were seated in a back corner next to a wall with lots of nice real plants. We had AMPLE time to look at the menu... because we didn't get to place our order for a ridiculous amount of time. I thought they had forgotten about us tbh. The servers all looked very over it as well. Everyone was very neutral and meh, if that makes sense. Which is whatever but something I did notice. Anyways we finally got our order (the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the smoked salmon scramble) and a drip coffee. The breakfast burrito was really good and the standout of the experience, while the smoked salmon scramble was kinda disappointing for me. I was really looking forward to it but the salmon was so salty and usually I'd be happy there was so much of it but it was just overpowering. Also the dish came with tomato and it made the scramble really watery. Which I found off putting. I ate maybe a third of it. Good hash browns though. The worst was that we added a creamer to the coffee and it was all mealy and obviously bad. So so gross. When we told the server she was apologetic but she was like "why didn't you tell me earlier when I came over?" Like girl, it hadn't happened the first time you came over... and also what a weird thing to say. Anyways they took off the coffee on the bill. Finally, we requested more water and never got it. So overall it was a pretty sad experience but the burrito was good. I'd say order to go that burrito and you'll be good. Or maybe this was an extra crazy day they had had and were just over it by the time we arrived at 12:30 idk.

Yelp
The Egg & Us is a cozy and welcoming spot for breakfast or brunch, especially if you're a fan of egg-based dishes. The atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, with attentive service and a steady flow of hot coffee. On my visit, the staff made us feel right at home, checking in often and keeping our cups full without us needing to ask. The food was fresh, flavorful, and nicely portioned. I ordered the Chorizo Scramble, which was well-seasoned and came with crispy hash browns and toast. My friend had the chile verde and said it was one of the best she's had. While some might find the portions a bit smaller than typical diner fare, everything tasted homemade and satisfying

Yelp
A place that's as cute as a button! We went here one chilly weekend as a friend had suggested this place a number of times. For some reason I thought this place was like Eggslut in Las Vegas (which coincidentally is opening in Seattle too). Turned out to be this really cute cafe with a bit of a wait but yummy food. Nice vast menu with standard breakfast fares. They also had specials. Absolutely love the vibe of this place. Okay, let's talk food. The Huevos Rancheros was delicious. The salsa definitely tasted home made and was the star here. Because eggs and beans don't have any flavor as such, the salsa basically elevates the dish. The fried sweet plantains were a nice touch! We also got the Swedish pancakes, which was delicious as well. Got a nice hot cocoa to beat the chill, and that came with whipped cream and sprinkles. This place is kid-approved, I am telling ya. Portions were just perfect. We finished it all. There was a good 20-25 minute wait when we went; which was around 10 am. However, once you are seated, the service is fast and super efficient. Our waiter was friendly, chatty (she shared some tidbits about the Issaquah Salmon Days as it was going on that weekend), and also made sure our food got on time. I would definitely come back here again with family and friends.

Yelp
Met a friend for breakfast. We both had early appointments and decided to come here. She had been here before and was raving about the food especially the hash browns. Of course she was right. This is a perfect new breakfast spot in Gilman village. The ambiance, service, and overall experience was amazing. I got the crab Benedict with a homemade biscuits. The only thing I would say is that my biscuits was a little burnt. My friend got the two egg breaks fast and the burrito. Everything was amazing. One of my favorite breakfast spots in Issaquah now.

Yelp
so happy this place has opened back up, so similar to the one before. got the breakfast place with sunny side eggs and one bacon and sausage. asked for a side of pancake instead of toast and server said it was ok. pretty busy when i went on a wednesday during lunch time .

Yelp
Hey all, passing a long a solid 2 thumb's up for The Egg & Us. Was on the lookout for breakfast after an airport run, and made our way out to Issaquah on SR900. Thought we would try something other than 12th Ave Café and remembered Egg & Us was in Gilman. Tons of parking and a very courteous staff greeted us. Very clean and open restaurant with ample seating and the ability to push tables together for larger families (8 next to us). High ceilings and not that cramped loud feel. Immediately got waters and a drink order. Breakfast was good - tried the ham Benedict, a popeye omelette, and shared a single pancake. Food came out hot and fast. The hollandaise was dressed up a bit but I still suspect it was from mix - but way better than a lot of 'packet' joints. Poached eggs and omelette were perfectly cooked, as were the hash browns. Overall I would say breakfast was as good as any local Café. But the number one thing I have to tell you is that the service was INCREDIBLE. Staff were warm and courteous, and they clearly kept an eye on us without hovering. Conversation was light and friendly. I felt respected as a customer - and I feel like that can be tough to find at times. Will definitely be back and encourage others to try!

Yelp
There was a line when we arrived on a Sunday morning, but plenty of parking still. We walked in and immediately were seated at the counter which is first come first serve. Family friendly place. Good service all around. Hot chocolate hit the spot. Chilaquiles were yummy but the dollop of sour cream on top was way too much - I initially thought it was a poached egg haha. Overall though for $15 it's a good sized portion of food with three scrambled eggs underneath and hashed browns plus toast! We also got the eggs/pancake combo with lemon ricotta pancakes. They were great! Great spot

Yelp
We came across this spot on the way to our hotel and made a note to try it the next morning. It's very cute inside. Larger than it looks from the outside. There were lots of choices on the menu. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. The only con for me was little to no salt on the eggs and hash browns. I know some people don't mind adding it as needed, but I can literally taste the grains when I do, so I prefer to have it cooked/mixed in. Besides that, service was friendly and fast.

Yelp
The Egg & Us is such a cute and cozy breakfast spot. The staff are very welcoming and sweet. It can be hard to find good Latin food in Washington but this place does it right.
google avatar

Doug Y.

Yelp
Cute little spot. Prices are within reason, menu is pretty straight forward and easy to figure out, its brand new, the owner is nice, and I love the name of the place and the cute little egg desig n!

Chris R.

Yelp
Quick to be seated, waited on quickly and nicely. The chilaquiles are amazing here! Get the green version. They also add flavor to their hashbrowns that is really good. Its larger on the inside than it looks from the outside.

Yelp
My friends and I visited The Egg & Us for Sunday brunch as the wait at Issaquah Cafe was 1.5 hours. The Egg & Us had a line out the door as well, but they were able to seat us within 30 minutes. I went to The Egg & Us 10 years ago and I honestly was never really a fan of their food, but it was convenient in Downtown Issaquah and so I would go with friends here and there. This was my first time back at The Egg & Us since they've recovered from the fire and reopened. Obviously with inflation, they've raised the prices significantly. Avocado toast is $15!! That's California prices right there. The cheapest entree you can get is a two egg breakfast for $12. As someone who usually opts for a healthy meal, I ordered the ROASTED GARDEN BOWL which came with roasted sweet potato, cauliflower, chickpeas, and pepita seeds topped with tahini dressing, served on a bed of quinoa and house choice of greens (+$16). I also ordered a drip COFFEE (+$3.75) to wake myself up. The ROASTED GARDEN BOWL was basically a salad. Four cups of salad greens with maybe a quarter cup of quinoa and half a cup of roasted vegetables and a couple of tablespoons of chickpeas, if that. The ratio of dressing to salad was definitely off as I had just plain greens left about a quarter way into my meal. The whole dish was quite bland and the only redeeming ingredient in the salad was the roasted sweet potato. While healthy, I would not order this dish again and it was definitely not worth $16. The COFFEE was passable. It was neither acidic nor bitter, but watered down. I would recommend ordering drip from Issaquah Coffee Company across the plaza instead. Service was alright once we got a table. The waitress came by to refill our waters and coffee. The interior is nothing fancy. They have uncomfortable wooden chairs and not much decor. It is well-lit and the bathrooms are clean. It was also quite loud when we went during the brunch rush. Overall: 1.5/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 2.5/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
Love this place! The lemon ricotta pancakes are a unique standout - the ricotta brings out a fresh citrus taste to the pancakes. The omelets are delicious. Always have received warm, friendly service. My coffee cup overfloweth! Restaurant looks freshened with their recent remodel, but I did miss the old country aesthetic. Great place for breakfast or brunch when in Issaquah!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this brunch spot. The house made corned beef hash stands out and I taste the crispy savory seasonings that pairs well with the green Tabasco and ketchup. It's hard to have such a nice trifecta of flavors that balance a runny egg yolk and rye toast. Their omelets are huge and you will be taking food home unless you're in college and on a sports team. I've seen some athletes pack it in. The biscuits and gravy are outstanding as well. The ambiance is family ran and I always enjoy supporting family businesses. Great customer service. Randomly, when I leave the restaurant my clothes don't smell like grease and a diner. I like this feeling. While at other diners the kitchen is right next to your table and you can smell like the last dish prepared.

Yelp
I'm so glad The Egg and Us is back open after they rebuilt after their fire!! It's back and better than ever. The interior is bright and new. The food menu has lots of classic options and twists on the classics. They also have a section of Latin food. I've never been for lunch but they also have a lunch menu with salads and Sandwiches. The Classic Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've had. It was so good! My daughter enjoyed her bear pancake. They provided coloring menu with crayons and were very kid friendly. The service was very friendly, attentive on refilling water and coffee and was surprisingly quick for a busy soft opening visit. Welcome back. So glad you are here!!

Yelp
I might have had the best pancakes at a breakfast restaurant/diner in my life here! The texture of the pancakes was so soft and buttery. If you like fluffy and airy pancakes, this might not be the best thing to order. The lemon ricotta cream on the pancakes was absolutely delicious. It was creamy, soft, and sweet enough to not have to drench your pancakes in syrup. The lemon flavor was subtle and not too overpowering. I highly recommend ordering this! The waitress was kind enough to honor my request of no raspberries, instead topping my meal with strawberries only. My over-medium eggs were yummy and cooked exactly how I wanted them. They were slightly underseasoned. Unfortunately, my veggie patties were served cold. They must have been sitting while the eggs were being made, because the eggs were served warm. Hopefully the next time I visit, they improve this process. The coffee was okay, nothing special and a little watery. Not horrible though. We sat at the counter for a reduced wait time, and it was an okay experience. It was kind of awkward being so close in proximity to the staff and feeling them eyeing your pace. The plaza was busy, but there were plenty of parking spots. There is a bathroom.

Yelp
I brought my wife here for her birthday. We were seated right away around 9AM on a Sunday, lucky for us because by the time we were done eating, at least 15 people were waiting for tables. The vibe was "cozy diner, but not in a corporate/cookie cutter" way or a dingy, depressing way. The menu is full of diner classics, plus a "Latin breakfast" section and plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered the mushroom toast, a California benedict, kid's French toast, and an order of sausage patties. Everything was good, no complaints. My son loved the coloring page of the Egg mascot, and was thrilled when it got put on the wall. I would definitely come back for a relaxed cozy Issaquah brunch.

Yelp
I stopped by for breakfast and was delightfully amazed by the delicious ricotta pancakes!! Even the presentation was wonderful and I put the extra lemons in my water for a refreshing drink! Highly recommend!! Friendly service too! (April 2025)
google avatar

Yelp
It's open again! Enjoyed brunch consisting of lemon ricotta pancakes 10/10, popeye omelette 10/10, and grilled chicken salad 6/10. Everything was cooked perfectly except for the very wilted less than fresh salad greens. Service was a little spotty due to the busy restaurant. Will be back for the pancakes & omelette! A very busy diner in Issaquah on Gilman.

Vitali P.

Yelp
Fun and welcoming ambience. Classical breakfast dishes done well. There are some special dishes too.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday morning for brunch and waited maybe 15-20 minutes. I was excited to try out the place since I had heard good things about it but didn't realize they had reopened recently! We ordered a Champion Omelet with whole wheat bread and hashbrowns. We also got a Farmer Benedict which had thin slices of applewood smoked ham, asparagus, spinach, and mushroom. We thought the portions were great and the food tasted great. We appreciated that the foods weren't too greasy. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
So glad they rebuilt after the fire. A good solid breakfast spot. Come early! Or be prepared to wait as they are popular. Good classic breakfast food, and good pancakes. Plenty of parking and located in a cute shopping center with plenty to walk around and see. Classic breakfast spot with booths and counter seating, but thankfully not too loud.

Yelp
Disappointed I had heard rave reviews about this place before they caught fire. Was happy they were open again and was excited to give it a try. They were very busy on Friday afternoon. Getting a parking spot was a fight. The seating was well lit and airy, looked like a traditional diner. The servers were swamped with orders so took a while for our coffee to be come. I got the veggie skillet which was nothing more than potatoes and some onion/tomatoes. Came out lukewarm and not hot. Nothing about it was tasty or made me want to keep eating. The coffee was mediocre too. Maybe I should have tried the traditional omelet pancake breakfast. I want to give this place another try before I can make a verdict. I am rooting for this place and want to update my review for the better.

Yelp
Great breakfast diner! Prompt and friendly service. Food is good quality and diverse menu with Latin breakfast as well. Must try the Swedish pancakes

Yelp
First of all I'm glad to see the Egg & US reopened after the fire. Admittedly this review is based on one visit, so it may need to be updated later. I went here on a weekend with a friend. I ordered the new York steak with eggs, yes I was being a little indulgent, my friend had the biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs. The tables are clean and have the usual condiments: salt, pepper, Tabasco sauce and one or two other hot sauces. The service was good. I was thirsty that morning; but, they kept my water glass filled. We weren't ignored; but, we didn't feel pressed to "hurry up and order." Instead of hashbrowns I opted for the fruit plate, which was very tasty, not super standout; but, tasty. I ordered my steak rare, but wasn't surprised when it showed up a little more toward medium than I would have preferred. However, it was still tasty. I don't hold it against diners for sometimes cooking a breakfast steak a little more towards medium rather than rare . It's a natural reaction to fears of food poisoning and the lawyers who feed off such occurances. The steak was very flavorful and still juicy. The eggs I ordered (scrambled) were also good. The sourdough toast was good; but, not exceptional. My friend was very satisfied with his biscuits with sausage gravy. And, he said the hashbrowns, and over-medium eggs were good too. I have no reason to doubt him as he cleaned. This is a nice clean well lit space with good service, and it's definitely getting a return trip. Just remember, your mileage and performance may vary!

Emmie H.

Yelp
I was so excited to see that this was reopen after the fire! It was a favorite and always reliable. The wait on a Saturday morning was long - about an hour - but I knew that that was what I would be signing up for when I went to the restaurant! I always order the french toast meal and request some jam to go with it - their jam is so fresh and vibrant and goes perfectly with their soft and flavorful french toast. I will be back the next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Bradley B.

Yelp
The breakfast sausage was rubbery and cold with a thick skin. It appeared to be reheated. I was in the restaurant very early morning and it seems like they served me yesterday's food. Other than that the restaurant was clean.
google avatar

Buck W.

Yelp
Very crowded great looking menu. 2 of us had poached eggs that were way overcooked I've seen hard boiled eggs less cooked. One had bacon and it was flaccid. Service was subpar. We all ran out of water and never got refilled. The food was delivered and never did the server come back to check on us until he delivered the check. Well it's too late to correct the food by then. Hard pass on this place

Vincent M.

Yelp
This place gets absolutely packed to the gills with people, and waiting guests are stuck standing around since there's nowhere to sit. It's VERY loud, and very cramped in here. The table we got seated at had us sitting almost with our backs pressed up against those of other guests. The pancakes were served a little too blonde (undercooked) for my taste, and their flavor wasn't anything memorable. Personally, I don't think I would go to this restaurant for breakfast again - the wait was too long, the place was too cramped, everyone's volume is too high, and the food wasn't good enough for me to form any strong memories regarding their flavor.

Yelp
Our gang had a standing date for brunch so we decided to patron this place to try it out after its reopening. This place had a fire and was shut down for a few years to rebuild. It was 10am on a Sunday morning and it was a full house. There was a 5 minute wait. We sat and waitress asked if we wanted to order any drinks besides water. My friend ordered a coffee. Waitress came back to ask for our food order but totally forgot about the coffee. We all placed our food order and reordered the coffee. We all got our food but there were a few things missing so we had to wave our waitress down to ask for our missing items. No one came to refill our waiter even when I asked for a refill the waitress said someone will be right over. I saw another waitress carrying the water pitcher but she didn't attend to our table at all. Gave up trying. We also ordered pancakes and waffles and the girls enjoyed it (they dug in so quick that I didn't get a chance to take pictures). The food was decent but service was a struggle (not horrible but lacking).
google avatar

Kyle F.

Yelp
Parking outside was kind of small. Indoor seating only. Restaurant was relatively full when we went. The staff was friendly and decently attentive. The timing of taking orders, food delivery, getting the bill, etc was all reasonable. The food was good. Didn't seem to be anything incredible but it was your standard breakfast fare and they didn't mess it up. I would definitely be back here for a no frills meal that you can rely on.
google avatar

R B.

Yelp
Great pancakes. Nice and fluffy. They also know how to make hashbrowns. They did not overcook them.
google avatar

Hans T.

Yelp
Great food, friendly and efficient service, in an incredibly comfortable and modern ambience. Prices are reasonable, too. For some reason, I wasn't excited to visit this place when they reopened, thinking it'll be generic and overpriced. I was totally wrong on both counts. glad to have another good diner to relieve the long lines at Issaquah Café and 12th Ave during busy hours

Maureen G.

Yelp
Came in a busy weekend so won't rate service. Food was good altho first time I've had a crab Benedict with canned crab. In the NW? Other stuff was good; I will say the place is acoustically LOUD. Otherwise I'd come back but it hurt my ears to be there.

Alex S.

Yelp
Food is good, all egg based typical breakfast. Good service, convenient hand held Point of sales device. One issue. The oil smells and tasted rancid, I could smell out side of the building.
google avatar

Ireland W.

Yelp
We had the breakfast strata today and OMG, it was sooooo good. Kelly was our server today and she was amazing. I recommend trying this place if you haven't.

Sarah A.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The green sauce on the chilaquiles had such good flavor. Although the wait was long (it was Mother's Day at brunch time) the service was great and the wait staff was still super attentive!

Kristen W.

Yelp
Food was yummy, big portions, server was super sweet but very understaffed! A little noisy but parking no problem.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've ever had! Everything tasted so good and was well portioned, I ate every last crumb. The service is great as well, everyone is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was really sad when the original burned down and am so happy about the reopening! The food is still great, space was clean and staff were friendly. Went for breakfast with family and had a good time. Very kid friendly. Highly recommend you try it out!!

Yelp
Love this place. Was so sad when it burnt down, and so HAPPY to see it open again!!! I love this place. Come at least 1-2 times a month for weekend breakfasts! Or brunch !

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere was excellent! Friendly staff, was seated fairly quickly!

Yelp
While visiting our son and grandson in Issaquah we stopped by to have breakfast. All 4 of us had a wonderful meal and our waitress was fantastic. (I don't recall her name, but it's the waitress who's gluten-free and was a wealth of knowledge on other options in the area that serve gluten-free food.) I have a very restricted diet, she was amazing in taking all the information to share with the kitchen and made sure that I got food that would not cause me a problem. The gluten-free toast was delicious, in fact, I asked what brand it was so I could buy some when I came home (Franz-unfortunately not available anywhere here in Southern California) the jam was delicious and she even shared the brand jam that the restaurant serves that I've never heard of before. I'm on a mission to find it as well. Everyone in the restaurant is very friendly. In fact, we liked it so much we went back on a day. My son was working and took our grandchild again who loved his second meal just as much. (the waitress actually remembered what he had ordered a couple of days before because he couldn't remember!) It was a super great experience and we will be back next time we visit !

Had the salmon lox toast with a side of hash browns! So yummy! Little pricey but worth it! My mom had the chilaquiles and said that it was great!

Yelp
Excellent service, atmosphere and food! We got an omelette and pancakes. Both were really good! I appreciated that they served the syrup warm... the way it should be! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The food and service is wonderful. I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and they are so flavorful that the perfect bight of Pancake, berry and lemon Devonshire cream needs no syrup. Let me say I had multiple food-gasims, they are WONDERFUL. Serving size so big had to take some home. My wife had the California as a scramble and her plate was clean, she loved it so much because of the perfect mixture of ingredients. Atmosphere bright and friendly. The set up is spacious and speaking as a wheelchair diner it was perfectly set up for me to get around in the wide aisles. Major ADA bonus points for 2 perfectly set up restrooms with easy opening doors and plenty of room to maneuver in. Also not only horizontal but vertical grab bars too. High pedalstool sink so can get wheelchair easily close enough for hand washing. Overall- great food, good prices, friendly and very wheelchair friendly! Highly recommend
