Can’t speak highly enough about this place. Dave and his staff were just phenomenal. It was my mom’s and my first time in and each person we interacted with made us (especially her) feel so welcome and like old friends. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Will happily be back regularly. It means even more because my mom has dementia and today was my birthday, and just the experience we had here made both hers and my day.

Exceptional breakfast! Friendliest staff! Fast service! Passing thru the area, stumbled upon this family-friendly place and we were SO impressed. Wish we lived here 😍 just so we could go here often.

Google
This place is off the HOOK! The food is some of the freshest Ive ever tasted and delicious! The atmosphere is off beat yet full of love (kid you not, love), and the waiters are all super helpful, fun ... can't say enough (mainly, because I'm so full).

Serving breakfast and lunch... this country themed small eatery deserves your business. We were seated right away upon entering. The menu had a variety of breakfast options and some great lunch items. The coffee cake as a starter was moist and delicious. I picked the Frisco burger and it was sooo good. The potato salad was homemade and was a great side too. The only call out I have is the parking area is pretty small. I'm sure during busy weekends, the parking lot is crowded.

Google
Hubby loves breakfast so while we were in the area, we enjoyed this cute country eatery. I loved loves loved my avocado 🥑 toast! I've never had it prepared like this ever! So deliciously amazing! 😋 If there were 10 stars, I would have given them 10! I want another one! The workers were personsonally enjoyable with connection and communication and dialogue. It made a big difference for us.

Google
This is one of my favorite breakfast places! Their Mexican breakfast items, like Chilaquiles and breakfast enchiladas are SO good! Get the beans, they make them from scratch. It gets pretty busy because it's good, so plan for a wait during busy times. It's worth the wait!

Didn't think when we pulled up that it would be fantastic, however, I was significantly surprised. Great service, good music, great food. I'd travel the 35 miles to come here again. Fresh OJ... Yum.

Google
I do not like leaving bad reviews, however, this experience was ridiculous, greasy and disgusting and hate that I spent $26 for something terrible. The hash browns were overly cooked and all my partner and I could taste is oil! The eggs had no taste and we had to ask but utensils and coffee refill. I’d never come back or recommend this place. The portions were also ridiculously small!

Yelp
If you are looking for a good variety of breakfast/lunch/brunch places, one needs to make a trip to the SFV and its neighbor, Simi Valley. It is in this latter destination that you will find The Egg House. So I made the 15-mile one way trip on a Saturday morning and arrived to a packed house. Many patrons were sitting outside, waiting for their tables. They moved the crowds fast, and I got my booth seat inside in less than 15 minutes. Immediately upon seating, the table service started at a high level. It was friendly, courteous and swift. I asked for black coffee first. It came with their complimentary piece of coffee cake. Nice touch. I always debate between a version of an Eggs Benedict offering and something else. This time, I was able to settle on the Huevos Rancheros (a dish that is always differently done at every restaurant). And sure it was. The corn tortillas were crisp (tostada style), not soggy and the two eggs done perfectly over medium and runny in the middle. The salsa was not overpowering. Instead of refried beans and rice, I chose the house potatoes (a side that is also always distinct with every different eatery). The potatoes did not disappoint. My server was Gus. He provided attentive and outstanding service. The menu has a good selection of items for both breakfast and lunch. Have to go back to try more of their selections.

Yelp
The egg house has been around for decades. They have the best food ever. The servers are still the same servers from twenty years. The servers are at your service to please you whatever however you like your food. They get to know you personally. Ambiance When you walk in you feel like you are at home ready for comfort food. I love their deco aka chickens. Egg house always decorates for the season. Love their warm friendliness

Yelp
Food and service are great! I cleaned my plate and if I had room, I would have ordered another breakfast. It has that way cool hole-in-the-wall feel. I will bring friends here.

Yelp
Love this place. Warmly greeted when we came in. Awesome staff! Awesome breakfast and lunch menus. Food is very good! No disappointments. It's a must in Simi Valley.

Elliot S.

Yelp
Don't order delivery. Didn't receive half my order kept Dasher waiting a half an hour. Eggs were over cooked manager was rude.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great, but the service was slow. The oatmeal was amazing, and the corned beef hash was fantabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary coffee cake. For my beverages, I had orange juice and also a cup of coffee. This place is definitely a good brunch spot on Sundays.
google avatar

Darwin C.

Yelp
After 5 years, I gave this place another go and experience was better. Considering the time we went was a little slow, but we got to choose our seats and served pretty quickly. We ordered the 2+2+2 and I think that was a good deal and chose the corned beef instead of the regular options. Waffles and packages were delicious too! Overall, better experience than before!

Yelp
It's easy to keep bodily hair out of the food... this restaurant doesn't even appear to try. Half way through our breakfast I found hair in the potatoes. Completely grossed us out. Neither of us could finish. The server took off only the plate we "found" hair, but the potatoes are all cooked together. Poor hygiene practices. Only wish I could post a negative - .

Yelp
Small town, family-owned vibes here. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the enchilada omelette, which I had never heard of before and it was pretty good. Not the most delicious food ever but good enough to leave feeling satisfied.

Yelp
Now that the First Street Restaurant is closed be sure to try the Egg house. Local owed and have great food and the servers are top notch. They are own 6am to 2am.

Yelp
Love the food and the people here. The servers are always so friendly and attentive. Even when they're busy, they make sure you have everything you need for a great breakfast. We usually love their veggie omelette, their french toast, and their machaca platters. Everything is a decent size and definitely shareable. Love this place

Bailey C.

Yelp
This place is cute and what I thought were small town vibes, but I was highly disappointed with my food. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel and a fruit cup. I was given a Costco cinnamon raisin bagel and was charged around $6 for it. Which is crazy considering you can get 12 bagels for $8 at Costco literally right now. So I was not happy when Costcos product came out and there was simply nothing to it other than the smuckers jam containers that are left out on the tables.... The fruit? No problems but it's a tad expensive for me. My group enjoyed their meals nonetheless so I can't complain on that front. This place isn't bad, but changes need to be made. It was a nice time, but I'd rather frequent places like Eggs n Things or Beeps to name a couple. Thanks! Edit: Hey David, thanks for the response. It's a difference of opinion and that's okay. But yeah, it is a tough review for a bagel and fruit cup, because of how expensive it is. And also it's frustrating when businesses respond in this type of manner. But look, didn't give you 1-2 stars because the place isn't 1-2 stars. But I am entitled to my opinion, which was crafted also based on the several health code violations that have been reported to your business that are publicly available both on yelp and google. Your business is a good one, but local support is key and I think it's okay if not everyone agrees on some statements.

Yelp
My daughter and I went here for Mother's Day, we were promptly seated and food was delicious. Thank you The Egg House, we definitely will be back

Shannon R.

Yelp
This place it top notch in good service, food, and atmosphere. Always check the specials. I could eat the stuffed crepes or the Crab Cake Benedicts every time, but variety is the spice of life.

Yelp
Small place but the food is really good. Good portions, the coffee cake was amazingly good. Teresa our waitress was the best, kept our coffee cups full and was really nice. Also the gentleman that helps clean the tables was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family, and will definitely come back.

Yelp
I always come around the area to visit my grandma and my mother and I discovered this place through Yelp, sounded good so we drove off and oh wow you will NOT be disappointed. As we walked in the restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day and being in there made it feel like home. The waitress Teresa constantly making my family laugh while providing the best service I've ever seen. The food was phenomenal. When we were seated they handed us their complimentary house made coffee cake and I was blown away by how savory it was; light fluffy and melt in your mouth. The chicken was seasoned very well and potatoes were super flavorful, along with the eggs being fluffy and light. I would definitely recommend this place and will take my family to this place once again, thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

Yelp
My first time here. Love the decor. The restaurant was clean. Given a piece of complimentary coffee cake. Yummy! My wife and I enjoyed our meals. They forgot my wife's toast. Not really a big deal. We'll be back.

Julia L.

Yelp
The food was great and all the servers were so friendly ! I really enjoyed the coffee also.

Yelp
The service was great, our waiter was extremely quick and attentive! Food came out fast and hot. Everything was great, no complaints here!

Yelp
The Egg House in Simi Valley is a breakfast spot located on a pretty busy street. Parking is a little bit difficult from my experience, because the lot is small and shared with other businesses. When my boyfriend and I walked in, the restaurant was packed & loud, which I thought was a good sign! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and the decor is slightly dated. Since there were no empty tables, we waited for about ten minutes to get seated. I was very hungry and eager to start ordering. We were seated at a booth with slightly wet seats, since the table was just cleaned from the previous party. Two minutes in, I saw a small spider crawl across the table and onto my menu. I'm a baby when it comes to spiders, so I had a mental breakdown (I'm half-joking) as my bf killed the spider. Our waiter took our orders, and the food took a bit long to arrive (30-40 min). They were quite busy, and I'm not usually one to complain about service time, but ya girl was hungry and sad :( Anyways, when we got the food I started chowing down immediately. The verdict? Not bad! The corn beef hash was hearty and hit the spot. The berry french toast was good, but I prefer Blu Jam for french toast. My bf didn't like the grits that much - he had to add butter and other seasonings in order to make it taste as good as his standards. The waiter removed the coffee from our bill because of the wait time, which was very nice! Overall, this is a good place, but not somewhere I would frequent. Food is good but there are other breakfast & brunch places in the valley that I prefer. The parking, seats, spider, and long service were not a huge deal, but did have a slight impact on the experience. However, the people are kind and the prices are good.

Yelp
A great local place for breakfast or lunch. Worth the wait if they're busy on a weekend. They have amazing multigrain pancakes, eggs Benedict, and many other options. For lunch, the club sandwich is great and they make a great homemade ranch! The servers and other staff are friendly and attentive. The place is always clean and the owner is very kind as well. The decor is nice and it is comfortable inside. Any of the staff would and has answered questions I've asked about menu options!! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Highly recommend the chicken fried steak! It's a smaller portion so I don't feel overwhelmed but was still full as it was so flavorful and came with bread and potatoes. Our waitress was so wonderful and had a very bright energy that's perfect for the restaurant. Though the bathroom wasn't quite clean but it wasn't the worst either.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast before we left town. After we ordered they gave us each a free piece of corn bread with some sweet glaze on top. It was a good start for the morning. I ordered the 2 egg Swiss and bacon omelette with potatoes. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy with bacon and eggs. Both were priced well in the early bird specials. Our grandson ordered the pancakes with 2 eggs and sausage. Everything was really good. The biscuits were light and fluffy with a nice gravy on the side that we smothered on top. The potatoes were cooked perfectly with a little crunch and soft inside and lots of flavor... the waiter was good and we recommend this place for a good breakfast.

Yelp
Great food. They gave us complimentary coffee cake at the start of the meal. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Seafood Omelette and it was a good portion size. The Swiss Cheese melted on top was fantastic. Decent portions of lobster and crab and it blended well with the spinach and tomato inside the omelette. Hash browns were tasty too. Fairly quick service and very friendly attentive staff.

Skylar D.

Yelp
Allowed dogs to crawl all over the tables and seats. Disgusting and I will not be back. EDIT; Owner states it's a service dog, that does not make it okay for a dog to crawl on a table and the seats where people go. You're allowing fake service dogs that are causing a disservice to those with actual ones. Emotional support animals are not service animals, and do not have to be allowed in the same as service animals. You are legally allowed to ask what tasks the animal is trained to perform and if theyhave no answer, you can refuse them. having the vest/certification means nothing if you let your dog run through the restaurant, it was completely legal for you to kick them out. Instead you let a dog run around and walk on tables.

Yelp
3 stars for friendliness. The service was friendly. The ambiance okay. I ordered the crab benedict breakfast. At a less than fancy place, I should have known better. The crab was just like a frozen patty out of a box sold at stores. It did not taste or seem homemade at all. The flavor and consistency was very compact and plain. Guys, please just take that off the menu unless you plan to make it. We can get boxed at home. The owner responded and told me that if I had asked about the product I mentioned. Well sir, I didn't want to be rude.. I'm not trying to hurt your business, so I don't appreciate your defensive response, instead of apology. If people enjoy that product the way it is, well good for you. You've pulled the wool over,, until now.

Yelp
Customer service experience has been wonderful during our whole visit. Employees courteously and QUICKLY shuffle folks into and out of the restaurant. They've got some serious skills and the front of house staff should be given props. Unfortunately, that's where the skill ends. My wife got the Benedict, and i got the chicken fried steak and eggs. I love my brunch and used the steak & eggs as a benchmark for a restaurants quality for years before moving to CA. I've since been unable to find a CFS that wasn't just a fried hamburger, and this place is no different. The hashbrowns were flash fried and steamed, so they had the consistency of chewing gum. The sunny side-up eggs were so undercooked that the yolk was still fridge cold. I was actually pretty impressed at that one. The biscuit was actually just uncooked, and im blown away that anyone thought that would fly under the radar. Straight up dough. Bring some skill into the kitchen and this place would deserve a 5 star review.

Yelp
The Egg House is awesome and a great breakfast restaurant with friendly service and delicious food.

Yelp
Amazing food - chicken fried steak and anything Mexican on the menu is incredible. Great service and happy staff
google avatar

Yelp
Brought my friend for breakfast at 8 this morning. I decided to have the eggs Benedict again. It wasn't as delicious as my first time. We also asked for well done hash brown, which we didn't get. No asking if we wanted salt and pepper either. They weren't that busy, so not sure why service was sub par. We had our same nice waiter though.

Yelp
Was craving a mean breakfast burrito today so I decided to try out The Egg House. I usually try to always get steak burritos, but it wasn't an option on their menu. Whats really nice of them is that I asked them if I could get a steak burrito and that I'd be willing to pay extra. They luckily took my order, still to no extra charge, which was really nice of them :) the burrito was great! It was super tasty, good amount of cheese, and steak was all freshly cooked! I'm really happy with the breakfast burrito here, classic 'so simple, it's so good' kind of meals! The workers here were also all so nice to me and served us with a smile throughout the whole time. Service was on point. Probably my favorite sit-down breakfast diner in Simi so far! Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Nicole R.

Yelp
Went in for the first time and a had a great experience! The place is pretty big with a lot of seating and cute decor of cows and chickens. The food was delicious and there's a lot to choose from. The portions are pretty large. The staff is very friendly although they did make a couple of mistakes with our order they were very apologetic and fixed it quickly. I understand that people have their off days so the mistakes didn't bother us at all especially since they're so friendly! Definitely will come again!

Bryan T.

Yelp
Great food. Fair prices. Ambiance - nothing special, but not necessary when looking for a good breakfast joint. They get breakfast. The home fries well-done is my best suggestion.
google avatar

Taylor J.

Yelp
Very huge portions! At a reasonable price! The staff is very attentive & friendly. It's best to come in early since this place typically gets busy VERY fast.
google avatar

Claudia B.

Yelp
Decent, reliable breakfast/brunch food and near our house.... but is it my favorite? No. It's decent but nothing amazing. It's hard to ruin scrambled eggs or pre-made sausage, and they didn't. It was fine. As for the banana pancakes, the bananas and nuts were just placed on top of plain pancakes, but not built into the batter of the pancakes, which I would have much preferred. The pancakes were kinda boring to me.... plus, they didn't put on any caramel sauce, which they said was part of it. Because we had ordered takeout, it wasn't like I could ask for some. Oh well. It was just okay.

Guelmy G.

Yelp
Me encanta que todo el personal son amables y atentos, la comida es deliciosa, los platos están muy bien servidos y los precios son muy cómodos. La verdad vale la pena ir! Delicious food, awesome service and great ambiance!

Mindy N.

Yelp
Delicious milkshakes too. Great coffee, service was great. First time, not the last time!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Always a short wait on the weekends, but worth it. The Egg House always keeps your coffee mug filled. The menu is full of a variety of things. The crab cake benefits are where it's at. All dishes have a generous portion.
google avatar

Rita S.

Yelp
The staff was nice and friendly but Unfortunately the food was not impressive in any way. My husband got the make your own omelette with chicken, cheese and bacon which is pretty hard to mess up - so he did like them. But he didn't like that the hash browns were soggy and soft on the inside. I got the crab cake Benedict and while the crab cakes themselves were actually good and super crispy - the eggs on top were fully cooked! When I cut into them they was no runny egg yolk - just a solid egg. Super disappointed since I don't like boiled eggs. We didn't bring it to any one's attention because honestly they were sooo busy!! The biscuit didn't taste like a biscuit / it was not crunchy at all Wouldn't be back even though we were hoping we had found our breakfast spot in Simi....
google avatar

Deelilah R.

Yelp
Came here with my best friend on Sept 23rd to enjoy a new (to us) breakfast spot only to have terrible service by an older blonde waitress with glasses who got snappy with any question I asked we also never got checked on until the end of our meal when we finally were done we got refills and straws. After we got our check we went to pay and she made awkward small talk where she told us she was feeling sick from food she ate the previous day ..... to my knowledge if you're sick or possibly have food poisoning you should not be working with food let alone serving people.
google avatar

M. G.

Yelp
First time here and they greet you with a smile and a piece of cake on the house. The food is fresh and delicious. Definitely returning.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Very nice service, complementary cake, not as loud as some other places. You can talk and enjoy your breakfast with your family. I recommend the 2+2+2, although you might also want potatoes. The menu is large and the Chicken and waffles are bone-in.
google avatar

Delilah M.

Yelp
Tried this place again and I am just not a fan. I decided to get the eggs Benedict and my husband got their 2x2x2 with French toast. French toast was delicious but the eggs Benedict were drenched in sauce and just terrible. It's such a bummer because we love supporting local businesses but we will not be back. I will say, they are very kind, even when busy, the cashier answered all our questions and accommodations for our meals. Parking sucks, outside seating is nice and I love that they kept that even after COVID.
google avatar

Guy P.

Yelp
I loved The Egg House. I dined with my sweet and gorgeous mom and not only was the food delicious and plentiful but the service was kind, professional, and exceptional. I also had a wonderful chat with Valentine at the cash register. He was pleasant and ultra friendly. I hope to be back soon and I recommend The Egg House very highly!
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Solid 4 star! We came here this past week really only because of the great reviews on Yelp so way to go Yelpers! I hope I am not offending the owners but I would consider this place a little bit of a whole in the wall location but really doesn't matter because they really delivered on everything else. Each person in our party got different items like pancakes and sausage, omelets, a scramble and Huevos Rancheros...each person absolutely loved their breakfast and based on the cleanliness of the plates afterwards I would say it was a success. My omelet had Italian sausage, mixed bell peppers and onions with cheese, side of sliced tomatoes instead of hash browns and sourdough toast. First not only was the omelette delicious but the sourdough bread might be one of the best I have ever tasted. It was so light and airy and tasted so fresh. Plus the freshness of the overall meal was truly outstanding. The service at times is as a little clunky but in the end they did a great job and everyone had a smile on their faces. Great find and if you are in the area definitely worth checking out.

Linda F.

Yelp
The house is the best place in Simi Valley for breakfast with the best staff you could ever ask for! They treat you like family every time you go and the food is consistently great definitely recommend

Yelp
First time at the egg house. Outstanding breakfast and solid portions. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. Great food. Great service. Yes, it's busy and a smaller place but we've got to support local...if we don't, you'll end up with McDonald's type establishments everywhere. Here, you can get a home cooked meal that's fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Good place to go for breakfast if you can get inside sometimes it's just way too crowded!

Yelp
We came early (8ish) on a Saturday morning with all 4 of our young kids. It wasn't too busy till we we're leaving around 9:30. We couldn't find kids menus but if you ask the waiter they'll tell you what the options are. We got pancakes with a side of fruit and when the waiter saw that the younger ones were having trouble sharing they brought out extra fruit, which I really appreciated. The food was very good and the portions are HUGE. I ordered an omelette and my husband ordered cinnamon roll French toast. My omelette came with potatoes and toast so I definitely couldn't finish everything. The kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes. Would definitely go back again.
