The 18 Best Restaurants In Hammersmith - London - The Infatuation

"The Elder Press Cafe is right by the Thames Path, in a part of Stamford Brook where the streets are lined with elegant, white townhouses and air kisses are the greeting of choice. The queue is the de facto meeting spot for locals with Barbour-fied dogs and the odd celebrity in oversized Patagonia. Yoghurt bowls garnished with flowers and dishes like kimchi fried rice are tasty, but the real reason you're here is to romanticise your morning while propped up on linen cushions or sat in the charming courtyard out back." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The Elder Press Cafe - Review - Hammersmith - London - The Infatuation

"This west London spot is where to go to romanticise your life. The Elder Press Cafe is right by the Thames Path, in a part of Stamford Brook where the streets are lined with elegant, white townhouses straight out of a Richard Curtis film. The queue is the de facto meeting spot for locals—there are air kisses, chats about holidays in Corfu, and lots of people in expensive activewear getting takeaway coffees before directing their prams and Barbour-fied dogs towards the river. Things are calmer out back in the long, narrow dining room—all washed-out sage greens and chalky pinks. Leisurely breakfasts are had while propped up on linen cushions and illuminated by soft pink lights. When the weather’s good, the charming courtyard fills up quickly with cyclists and runners refuelling with tangy bowls of yoghurt garnished with pink flowers and shards of sweet, nutty granola, and fresh orange juices. And upstairs, the calm, airy workspace with big shared tables is reserved for laptop-users. But the real appeal is to spend a morning wafting about with a book, gazing longingly out of the large windows like a modern-day Brontë. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

"If you’re the kind of cyclist who has a front basket and a mint green frame, you’ll love The Elder Press Cafe. This Stamford Brook spot is steps away from the Thames Path, on a street lined with white townhouses straight out of a Richard Curtis film. There are bike hoops outside, plus outside, streetside seating and a courtyard. A cute coffee-brunch-restaurant that is located right next to the river. The scenery is beautiful and they have terrace area and offer a good coffee. They are a restaurant and as well have brunch anyways you can visit for just a coffee and get some of their pastries. I would say that the only thing missing will be a bit more variety on Vegan options as they only offer a vegan date cookie for pastries. A good place for groups as well in case needed for a small celebration.

Elder Press is such a cute spot in a lovely part of town! It can get busy, but we came back around 1:30pm and got a table right away. We skipped the main menu and picked up a few things from the bakery – the salmon brioche and lemon meringue pie were delicious, especially the pie 😍 They have a great drinks list too, which I’d love to try more of next time. I did order a fresh grapefruit juice that never arrived (and only found out they didn’t have it after following up a couple of times), which was a bit frustrating. That aside, the service at the bakery counter was super friendly – could be a bit smoother overall but still worth the visit!

Lovely cafe, the morning bun is the best cinnamon bun I have ever had. Crispy on the outside and super soft and moist in the middle. The full English was good too, and the other breakfasts in the cafe looked really good too. Good cafe. Will be back.

Stopped for brunch I would have preferred a saucer with my cup of tea. The variety was fair I chose their brunch dish which was well presented. A little more bread would have made the plate perfect. A good place to stop along the river.

A fantastic cafe within walking distance from Stamford Brook tube station. The interior is nice (both the ground and the first floor) and there is also a garden (with a lovely scent from the jasmine). I’ve been there several times for lunch, I’ve tried the Vietnamese pancakes (filled with salmon and slaw) and the Turkish eggs. There is also wifi.

I love it here!! The food is delicious, the staff are lovely and I can’t think of any cons 🤷🏿‍♀️ I have been twice and looking forward to coming back. The kimchi fried rice was just yummy, and I got the brunch plate which I could have over and over every time I come - the salmon in particular, perfect 👌🏿

We had a birthday brunch here and it was perfection! 👌🏼. Service was fast and friendly, food was good, and THE best banana bread in town. Having a bigger table could have made the difference, but I would go back again and again.

Delicious lunch at the Elderpress, with the special mackerel salad especially good. Lunch menu, coffee and cakes always great, with a lovely vibe from the staff. Great seating both inside and outside!
