Cocktails and beer were really good. They have an extensive menu all around. The fried zucchini comes in large spears, which was nice, but the breading lacked flavor. Since they say they are known for their rib eye, we gave it a shot. For some reason, mine came out paper thin and already cut in strips for me. I didn't understand that. My sister's came out twice the size of mine, with tons of fat, and cooked medium well when asked for medium rare. Both didn't have the flavor as expected by an establishment claiming they have the "best in town". For the kids meal, my son's hamburger bun was charred and my daughters chicken strips tasted like nothing. The halibut comes out with this country fried steak like white gravy poured over the top. It wasn't bad, just...interesting. Our server, Cole misinformed us on so many things. He was wrong about what ice cream flavors they had, what fruit comes with the kids menu, the amount of togo boxes to bring out. Eh. It was enough strikes not to be a returning customer.

The Scoop is owned by The Eldo. Most generous scoop size i’ve ever seen! Minimal flavors but all uniquely made and super delicious. The Eldo is a south African owned restaurant. Its the place to bee if you want a fun date night out or if you want to enjoy some good drinks and eat quality food.

The evening started off with cocktails. The pours were strong and, if beer is your thing, they have an extensive menu. However, after drinks everything went downhill. The fried zucchini was good. They come in large, thick spears, but the breading on them didn't have any flavor. Next the entrées. My kids ordered a hamburger meal and it came with an overcharred bun. The chicken strips were super bland and my daughter wanted fruit instead of fries. We asked our server, Cole, what fruit was in the fruit cup and he responded mellons and berries. When we got it, it was oranges, grapes, 2 cantaloupe, and some pineapple. They say they are known for their ribeye, but that is a joke. Mine was cut for me in strips for some reason and was paper thin. On the other hand, my sister's was twice as large and thick, but really fatty. They both tasted nothing like I would expect a promoted item woukd taste. We also got the halibut. It was strange as well. It had some like country fried steak gravy coating the top of it. The whole place just wasn't something we had in mind. When it came to ordering ice cream, again Cole gave us options. We ordered, and TWICE he came back saying they don't have those flavors! He mentioned 4 flavors. I ended up going next door and looking at the flavors and they had 8! Also the togo boxes are really small so get more if you plan to tasha food home. Not a great experience, so we won't be back.

You can't go wrong. Truly fantastic food. Prime rib is one of the best ever. Onion rings are top notch as well!

Google
Cozy & casual! The food is plentiful & tasty. Fish & Chips was crunchy and not too greasy. The fish was a nice thick fillet. The tartar sauce was homemade & thick. The garlic peas flavorful & unique. Service was excellent and the dining area was fun & lively. Glad to have tried & will return for sure!

Google
This is a gastropub and the food is truly good. Everything from the lamb shank to the meatloaf to the ribeye steak. It's worth the money that you pay. It's delicious! They even have an ice cream place right next door. This is a great place to go. Has a lot of options for everybody

Google
Do yourself a favor and hit this spot! Drinks are on point & not overpriced, appetizers are all amazing and the food is top notch. Great service and great atmosphere. Try the wellington, wings and smoked old fashioned with a double of jack daniels bonded. Oh, and the bacon wrapped dates!

Google
We had reservations. It's recommended to have one. The ribeye steak was delicious. For dessert, the brownie with ice cream (huge scoop).

Yelp
Had a truly amazing dining experience here! I was looking for a good beef Wellington for my husband and stumbled upon this hidden gem that is a known favorite for local Long Beachers! Our server was super fun and helpful and gave some great recommendations! The inside is a pub-y bar meets nice date feel without being too stuffy. I hear they have a nice patio that is good for families and a little brighter seating. I do plan to return!

Yelp
My family moved to the area a year ago and I feel like we're regulars. We dine here perhaps once every other month, if not more so. We've been here enough to know they don't have apple juice, the kids burger doesn't come with cheese, rainbow grilled cheese is solid, the hubby gets the LBC IPA. This was our go-to spot for easy local dinner with good food and atmosphere for our two preschoolers. But after a recent outting, I'm not so sure it will be on our rotation. My family and I were dining with the in-laws who were in town. We were seated by two moms with 5 young children who were unruly. They played under the table, they ran around the patio area and bumped into the MIL chair a few times. This was ... not normal behavior a dining environment. We were not a Chuck E. Cheese or Dave and Busters. We were at the Eldo, which is very family friendly, but again, it's not Chuck E Cheese. The staff or the manager did not seem to care or mind the chaos that was happening. The in-laws were biting their tongue and tolerant of the situation until one of the kids tried to grab the fire distinguished off the wall. That was when shit it the fan. The FIL got up to stop the child from grabbing the fire extinguisher. There were some heated words exchanged and that party left. Afterwards, the manager sort of victim shamed us, saying we should've asked to be moved to another table instead of letting things get to that point. I don't think things were handled properly and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Needless to say, we have not been back since.

Yelp
Every dish we've had is amazing. Best fish and chips around that's for sure. Their stuffed PorkChop was to die for. The honey chicken sliders were so mouth watering and tasty. We plan on going there again soon. We go every 2 weeks or so. If you go after 6pm you do want to make a reservation. They get pretty packed and for good reason. Very friendly staff and the owner pops out to say hi every now and then. He's always working in the back. Fully recommend this place.

Yelp
The Eldo is a bar/pub with South African flavors and it's located off Studebaker and Spring in Long Beach, across the street from El Dorado Park. I came for happy hour on a weekday and they offered $2 off appetizers. I got sliders, veggie samosas, and a side of fries. I feel that the sliders tasted great. The buns were light and nicely buttered, they came with a "pink sauce", and the beef and caramelized onions nicely rounded out the burger. The samosas were my favorite item of the meal. It packed flavors that you don't normally get in an Indian-style samosa. Maybe because they serve the samosas with sweet chili sauce rather than chutneys; however, I would order it again. As for the fries, I felt that they were crispy; however, I felt as if it had an aftertaste that I didn't enjoy. If I get fried dishes, then I'd probably go with onion rings; however, I think that I'd like to try more of their South African offerings as they're unique!

Yelp
The food was on point and our waitress was excellent. I don't order chicken often but really wanted to try something I have never had. So I ordered the Peri Peri chicken and informed it would be spicy so I had the sauce placed on the side. Ribeye was juicy and is a must try for sure. Inside is pretty dim with plenty of t.v. for all to view. Would definitely be back again!Thank you Peyton!!!

Yelp
First time and we are definitely going back. We sat outside in the covered patio. Even at 7 PM in August, it felt really comfortable. It's well shaded. We loved the garlic bread appetizer, and fried zucchini. It was the best fried zucchini I've ever had. Very crispy batter. We had the beef Wellington, which was delicious. Sliders were juicy and flavorful. The fries were amazing. They have a glorious batter on them that makes them so crispy. Our top favorite dish was the Monte Cristo sandwich.

Yelp
Stopped by to try this out after golf. We came around 5pm on a Sunday and the wait was about 45 minutes. It didn't seem packed due to seeing a good amount of empty tables but we didn't question it and waited. We got seated outside where they're were only about 4 heater lamps. Definitely not enough to cover all tables, or the one we sat in. The South African food was delicious, however anything that was considered bar/pub food was mediocre. I enjoyed the lamb samosas, and prawn curry the most. We also tried the fries which was a pretty small basket for what it cost, and the steak nachos. The cheese was a weird light orange color, not sure what it was made of. My biggest critique would be the service. When my friend asked for steak sauce and a box to go, multiple servers forgot and ended up giving us other peoples items. Our main server was apologetic on their behalf, but it seemed like the restaurant was low on staff. I would definitely give this place a try again, and would stick to the South African dishes.

Yelp
My son found The Eldo for his bday dinner. He wanted to make sure he could watch the Final Four games and this spot has a lot of TV's! I made a reservation for a party of 10 the day before and was accommodated with the stipulation that everyone ordered entrees per the manager. I'm not sure how they would dictate that as it wasn't stated again upon being seated; but it was not an issue. The waitress was on her JOB and managed our party well. Everyone enjoyed their food except my friend that ordered the filet, she wanted MedWell; but got MedRare...they re-did the whole meal. It's a cool vibe here with a large indoor/outdoor space that includes a covered patio. Now parking kinda sucks once the lot is full; but we parked off Spring St. I will definitely return.

Yelp
Ordered to go for my husbands birthday. We couldn't make it out to the restaurant because we all caught a summer cold but the take out was just as good. It was fresh and neatly packaged. I would definitely order to go again. Meal was ready in 20 minutes. It is tricky to park over there sometimes as the parking lot is not that big but you can get lucky and find a space. They also have spaces dedicated for to go pick up.

Yelp
Best rib eye in town!! The menu is robust, though we keep ordering the same thing becauae it is that good. Empress cocktail for me, hubby smoked old fashioned, giant pretzel to share, ribeye, baked potato and the malva butter cake We keep coming back bringing friends and neighbors with us. Sharing the pretzel and dessert makes it perfect. Service is always great.

Yelp
Such a delightful business. Plenty of parking out front, unless it is during the dinner rush hour or a big game is on TV. We were greeted by friendly staff at the front and caught a drink at the fully stocked bar. By the way, they have a great whisky and craft beer section. We got a variety of different main dishes and shared. Waite staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We finished with ice cream for dessert (They are connected to the ice cream shop next door). Great ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food, full bar, clean restaurant, well maintained restroom facilities, parking lot, comfortable environment. All and all, an excellent visit!

Yelp
Brought our friend who is from South Africa here hoping that she would get a little taste of home. She is from Durban, and we saw that this restaurant had Durban Lamb Curry. The ambiance was nice, and the restaurant was busy, so we knew the food must be pretty good. Our party got the ribeye, surf and turf (ribeye with shrimp), Sheppards pie, and the lamb curry. Our friend LOVED the curry and said it reminded her of home. The pie was also good, and my surf and turf (ribeye cooked medium) was cooked perfect. Unfortunately the temp for my friend's ribeye was not cooked medium-well as she requested. But other than that definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Eldo as in El Dorado Park- hidden gem!!! Locals definitely know about this - reservations are a must or you won't get in at meal time!! inside bar area, a little noisy large outside area- cozy, but nice restaurant vibe. The food is amazing ! Family, friendly kid portions are absolutely huge. Adult portions you're guaranteed to take home leftovers unless you're hungry. All the desserts we tried were amazing. The restaurant is connected to an ice cream stop next-door Scoops. Lots of wonderful flavors to choose from for all the desserts as they go next-door for the ice cream and their dessert items. The service was very attentive and fabulous! We highly recommend the Shepherd pie, the fish and chips and the beef Wellington! The parking lot is small and tight. You can tell locals are welcome as there is bicycle parking. What would make this perfect for me is if they had at least one ice cream item that was lactose free! Although we live close, this would be a restaurant we would definitely go to even if it was an hour away. It is worth the drive and if you're visiting Southern California, you gotta try this place out!

Yelp
The ceasar salad was really good. I love that they put freshly shaved Parmesan and crispy bacon on top. The fish was light and crisp and really tasty. We didn't get a picture of the ice cream but it was really good. The staff gave the best service. I love how all of the staff helped each other and were very helpful.

Yelp
This "hidden" gem. 2 words Beef Wellington = chefs kiss Great atmosphere. Come in have a drink or two, watch some football and enjoy a great meal

Yelp
Went to this delightful gem of Long Beach last night for some delicious food and drinks. I had my favorite alcoholic beverage of choice which is an old fashion and it was made to perfection. I ordered the Beef Wellington and unfortunately had some cooking issues with it. It came out raw and the picture I provided was it returned still a little under cooked. The beef Wellington is one of my favorite dishes, but I know it is also hard to make. The manager apologized and provided a replacement meal. I chose the fish and chips which was amazing and finished the night with the best tasting butter cake I have ever had. The service on the night was awesome. The atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend this place for a family dinner or just to get out and have a few drinks and an appetizer.

Yelp
All around excellent. Prices are reasonable in today's turbulent times and the food is outstanding with excellent beverages. Recent remodel of the property and very comfortable. Our wait staff were never far away and took good care of us!

The food was excellent. We had the Beef Wellington. The service was the best. Very attentive staff and really appreciated the great service. Great place!!!!

Yelp
Bit of backstory (per usual): I disc golfed for YEARS at El Dorado Park, and this spot is always in the line of sight walking to hole 3. So I finally gave it a shot, and I've now been a regular for years, but it's time for a review. Ambiance: I'm greeted EVERY TIME I've walked inside. Always with a smile. I sit at the bar, as I'm by myself most of the time (dating is trash lol). I'm probably butchering the spelling, but I used to come for Anastasia. I think I've put this in most of my reviews, but guest connection is imperative to me because going out is still an experience. It still costs money. But man, miss her working there, but the other servers/bartenders are all incredible! Service: It was a busy night because of the Lakers game. The bartender was busy, but as soon as I sat down, she said she'd be right with me. Acknowledged me immediately; her awareness was comparable to Spider-Man. I don't even think I was completely sitting now that I think about it. I got there, started to pull the chair out, and THEN she said that. As the youths say, she was "quick with it." My Buffalo Trace neat arrived promptly. And I was talked into a Ribeye. I love meat. Pause. Food: My ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. I'm a fast eater. I feel that most guys just demolish meals with no remorse for the time it took to cook it. Ha ha. But I took my TIME eating it. It was phenomenal. As you can see in the picture, I took a few bites before remembering I wanted to review it. I was salivating more than Pavlov's dogs. The steak looked and smelled so good, it made me FORGET to take the picture. Wrap-Up: Great experience as always. 10/10.

Yelp
Great food and drinks, we had the filet mińon and pork chops, with mashed potatoes and vegetables, the food is delicious and worth coming back for! Try the the mixed drinks

Yelp
Love the Eldo! The African sausage sandwich is my go to and the El Dorado Royale cookies next door at their ice cream / dessert shop is drool worthy! Always consistent food, service and cleanliness!

Yelp
My daughter's rehearsal dinner was here. Not from Long Beach but this place has been around since the 50s. Tons of food options, the steaks were really good and those people that had the tacos were raving about them. We had the pretzel, bacon wrapped dates along with fried zucchini. All were delicious. Wednesdays you get half off bottles of wine, their is an exception to that special but should be a problem The person who took care of us did a really great job, apparently he has a fine dining job also so that only helped out for us. We sat on the indoor patio which has lights hanging and made for a great experience.

BZ K.

Yelp
This place is great. Had a ribeye, perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. Veggies weren't trash frozen veggies, this place is great I'll be back soon
google avatar

Yelp
Never came across this place right next to El Dorado park, and surprisingly this is full pub with South Africa food! We sat at the bar and we were offered water right away and took our drinks order. She took our food order and we ordered Lamb Curry and Pesto Salmon. Both of these dishes were delicious. Lamb was tender and cooked with spices over rice - simply amazing! Pesto Salmon was full of flavors and salmon was cook to its perfection. Pesto a was very well made as well. Ambiance is super chill - everyone were dressed casually and they have decent amount of sitting. Great place and I will be coming back to try out other food on their menu. I highly recommend this place!

Michele D.

Yelp
The service was great! Cocktail's were excellent! Several had the fish and chips! But one had the meat loaf and she couldn't stop saying how good it is. We will be back soon

Yelp
Had a great dinner. Hailey was a fantastic server. Super attentive and helpful with suggestions. We've been coming for ten years and she has been one of the best (along with Jill, who loved up on our dog and was so on top of things). Eldo is great in general but def tried to be higher end than it actually is, but, Hailey and Jill have really made a difference.

Yelp
The food did not disappoint. Husband was very pleased with the steak. The service was attentive and the consistent. The ambiance was crowded compared to how it has been in the past. There is more seating space than before, but more seating also means a change to the ambiance from cozy to not so cozy. The parking lot is not quite adequate for the patrons that the restaurant holds. Best to get there early if you have a reservation to find parking.

Yelp
This was my first time here, although I've been wanting to go for some time now. We came 11 deep for a birthday, unplanned, and they were still able to accommodate with a smile - thank you. :) It's tucked away, and when you drive by it just seems like a dive bar with a bit more parking than usual, but let me assure you it is anything but that. The food was amazing, they have a mix of Americana and South African dishes. I got the Durbin Style Lamb Curry w/ Papadals, Sambals, and Chutney and it was beyond expectation. My kids got the Eldo Burger combo w/ blueberry cheesecake shakes and loved it, my wife got the Peri-Peri Chicken and was thoroughly pleased, and other got items like the Surf n' Turf and Stuffed Pork Chop. Long story short, every dish we got was phenomenal. :) The ambiance is that of a pub and grill, nice restaurant type seating on one end and a sports pub vibe on the other, there was also some outdoor seating as well. In all it was everything I hoped it would be and more; we will definitely be returning, and I hope to see you there! :)

Yelp
First time eating here at The Eldo and just might be one of my new favorite eateries here in Long Beach! Great food, portions, ambiance, customer service and taste! Wait, excellent customer service might I say!!!! Never had I had Beef Wellington but this might be my new favorite dish! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are visiting The Eldo!

Yelp
Emily and Ashley are amazing. Great service! Emily is an energizer bunny always moving from table to keeping everyone refilled and happy. Ashley is a bundle of sunshine. always happy to greet returning customers and making them feel like family. Both are very professional and a bright spot in my day. They are a large part of why we return. That is not to detract from the food and ambiance which is also part of the overall great experience. I also enjoy ending my experience at the scoop!

Yelp
It's been a while since my last visit and the Eldo still remains a gem. Delicious food, friendly service in an easygoing setting. We really enjoyed our dishes and look forward to the next time we visit.

Yelp
I wish I had more time to write a more detailed review right now. We had an amazing experience here tonite from the beginning until the end. Everyone was so welcoming and accomodating. Kevin, I believe he is a manager, spent a good amount of time at our table explaining everything to us first-timers. All of our food was delicious! Their butter cake is a must have! Don't miss out on it, it's very special. I will try to get back here soon with more info. but I didn't want to let the night end without giving The Eldo well-deserved praise! Thank you all so much! P.S. I worked in the restaurant business for 18 yrs (and I am a master at making butter cakes) so I feel pretty qualified to review restaurants/food/desserts.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance. Great place at the bar or table. Echt heerlijk eten. Is lang geleden dat Ik zo lekker gesmult heb.

Tenaya P.

Yelp
I struck out this time. My food was undercooked, cold and very bland. Everything I ordered tasted like a microwave dinner that didn't fully heat up. I just threw everything in the trash. Will not go back.
google avatar

Yelp
We always get great service here. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Our server last night was outstanding. I've always sat at the bar. They play great music. I highly recommend the Peri-Peri Chicken. This dish was dynamite. That peri peri packed a punch of spices right into your mouth. Upgraded fries for mash potatoes. I will never order the Tri Tip Dip again. It was not my jam. I didn't really feel like it had much flavor. Very plain. The only thing I enjoyed eating were the fried onions on top. Upgraded the fries to garlic fries and they came out cold. Wasn't a fan.

Yelp
It started off all bad. I know we didn't have a reservation, but when we walked in, there were at least 10 empty tables. Still, we were told by the person at the front counter--who had a crazy bad attitude--that it would be a two-hour wait. That made no sense, and her energy was just off-putting from the jump. I told her, "No thank you," and went to use the restroom. Here's where it gets strange: the guy in the bathroom (yeah, really) told me to just make a reservation. So I did--right there on my phone--and what do you know? We were seated within 5 minutes. Now, I've had several different dinners from this place before, and they've all been good. That's what made this whole thing even more disappointing. This time, I ordered the pork chop. Big mistake. It was way overcooked, dry, and came with some kind of off mashed whatever that didn't taste good at all. The vegetables? No seasoning whatsoever. Meanwhile, my wife's plate actually had seasoning, so... consistency issues much? For the price this place charges, I expected way better across the board--food, service, attitude. I don't know what happened, but it wasn't a good look. Doubt I'll be back anytime soon.

Yelp
Had such a fantastic time at Eldo. We sat on the bar area. It was quiet at first and when more customers came in it was super loud, no biggie. As soon as we sat down, a young gentleman wipe the table (it was clean yet it was very nice for him to do that) and he let us know our waiter would be Emily. I had a michelada (it wasn't mexican style, was more like the pepper style I had in Belize), my friend had a whiskey drink and the other hot water with lemon. For food, one had the cod salad with steak, the other the steak salad and I had the french onion soup. For dessert we share a warm butter cake with ice cream and cream and a lemon drop martini. The service was flawless and everyone was working so well together to make sure we had an amazing time!!! Highly appreciate and recommended. Zack, was very good at taking everything away from our table at the perfect time and he was so well mannered. Seriously, the service here is outstanding and very upscale. The decor is amazing as well. A gem of an establishment

Yelp
My friend and I recently paid a visit and we had an amazing time! I opted for my usual filet mignon plate and my friend got the same as well. We also decided to order some margaritas, an appetizer and dessert. The night was going great until my friend asked for some to go boxes and the young waitress said "yeah that's a lot of food" and laughed as she walked away. I feel that comment was just plain out unnecessary and I didn't appreciate that. I've also noticed the same waitress and the hostess eyeing our table throughout the night and I honestly felt rushed. I understand it was a Saturday night and you want to clear tables out fast but please don't awkwardly stare down your tables and say rude remarks, it made a 5 star night into a 3 star simply for the service. Food was amazing as always though and regardless of the low quality staff i'll continue to support this business.

Yelp
The steaks are really good and the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. This is on par with a Fleming's it s Ruth's Chris but the price is half what they charge. This is now my go-to steak house.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner based on their Yelp rating. Crowded parking lot, people waiting to be seated. Took a seat @ the bar. Loud due to the Rams playing(Thursday Night Football). Waited on promptly by Kellyn. Got a local beer, and water while I decided on what to eat. Menu is extensive. I ordered the shrimp linguine based on Kellyn's recommendation. It was absolutely delicious. Next door is the Scoop(Ice Cream shop) that provides some items on Eldo's dessert menu. I asked for the flavors of ice cream, which was provided. I chose the mint chip, and it did not disappoint. Huge portion but also delicious. Kellyn was working her tail off at the bar, but with a smile, and a great attitude. Only reason it's not a 5 star review, was it was LOUD... understandable given the local team playing. I will return next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
The food is always fantastic! But one main thing for me is they make the best Irish coffee in Southern California! We travel all over the US and the only thing that comes close. Our coffee is made in New York, but the reality of this is the elbow is the best around for an Irish coffee! Now, if only I can get them to add a Cuban sandwich to their menu!

Cathy F.

Yelp
I really like the food at the Eldo. What has been a problem fairly consistently is the interaction with the hostess staff when one first walks in. Many times I have found them to be rude and unpleasant. Last night was no exception. We had a reservation at 5pm for my son's birthday for the three of us. For some reason which was not explained they could not seat us although people just walking in were seated right away. When I asked about it I was told I would get "sat" soon. This is in a restaurant with mostly empty tables. This can be a stressful position to be in I realize but it is the first impression a customer has of the restaurant. I just wish it was a more pleasant experience.
google avatar

Becca K.

Yelp
This place was great! We got the chili cheese fries and split the prime rib and wow! Both were delicious!!! Then to top it all off, we were able to order ice cream from The Scoop next door to our table. The scoops were massive and ended the meal perfectly! Overall a great night!

Yelp
I can't believe there is a place I can go to in Long Beach that serves beef Wellington. Not only that, it's an incredibly affordable (under $50!) beef Wellington. Also... it's so good! It is better than the overpriced beef Wellington I had last time I saw it on a menu. Don't sleep on this menu item at this unassuming establishment, it really is a treat to have in the neighborhood. Love the vibe of the Eldo, the food and the drinks are all so good. A great place to try some South African cuisine as well.

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary at the Eldo. Our server was Natalie, and she was friendly and attentive, stopping by our table to check on things frequently. We never had to wait for long for anything. Of course, the food was the highlight of our visit, and it did not disappoint. We were in the mood for lamb--my wife got the lamb shank, and I got the Durban lamb curry. We sampled each other's entree, and they were both amazing. The meat was tender and full of flavor, and the papadam that served as a garnish tasted great with the sweet chutney. I also ordered the milk tart, a traditional South African dessert. My wife got the caramel ice cream. They were both amazing, and we could have easily shared one dessert. We ended up taking half of the milk tart home because the ice cream would not have survived the hot ride home. The patio area was pleasant and shaded, especially with a nice breeze in the early evening. There were many friendly dogs in the outdoor dining area, providing entertainment for all the diners.

Yelp
Had a late lunch with my little sister and it was great. In times past, parking was an issue but not this time and I think it was due to arriving before 2pm. We were seated immediately, and the server was great. I had Fried Shrimp, and my Sis had Lamb Shanks and a salad. The shrimp was delicious, and the lamb shanks were tasty and fall-off-the-bone tender. The Eldo is also known for their cocktails and my sis had an Old Fashion. I stuck with water since I was the DD. If you've never tried the Eldo, I strongly recommend you do so.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this beautiful setting as i wine & dine at this restaurant . I ordered fried shrimp and let me just say it was so delicious and I enjoyed it so much that I had to share with my friend to share with him the best meal I ever had made for me in a restaurant setting. Everything on the menu is very appetizing !

Yelp
The Eldo is a hidden gem in the outskirts of Long Beach in the El Dorado area. I've been to this place a handful of times and I have not been disappointed. everything that I have had here so far has been fresh flavorful and delicious. The service is always on point. This restaurant is really nice on the inside and appears to be smaller from the outside but when you get inside, you realize that it's really big. They have a really cool bar area and on top of everything. They are Green Bay Packer fans go Green Bay!

Yelp
We were in the north Long Beach area and this place was recommended by a friend. I was a bit hesitant as I'm not a fan of sports bars but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was much more than that. We were quickly seated and told to scan a QR code for access to the menu. Sadly, cell phone reception was spotty and it took a few minutes to get the menu to open on our phones. During that time, our server came and introduced himself. He was quite genial and very knowledgable about the menu. We ended up ordering the lamb curry, one of their signature dishes since they focus on North African cuisine, as well as a couple of beers. We also opted for the vegetable samosas as a starter. The samosas were delicious with just the right amount of spice. They were identical to what you'd get in an Indian restaurant. I was a little disappointed that they served it with sweet chili sauce which is common in Asian restaurants but not at all North African or Indian. I would have preferred a tamarind or cilantro based sauce which is more typical. The lamb curry came next and was absolutely delicious! It was served over a bed of turmeric rice with a crisp papadum and some little cups of condiments to use as you wish. The condiments included shredded coconut, a salsa similar to pico de gallo, and a killer chutney. That chutney would have been a better match for the samosas. The lamb pieces were tender and the curry was nicely balanced. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would be happy to return if we are ever in the area again. I dinged them one star for using a QR code in an area with bad cell reception, which the server acknowledged and apologized for, and for serving a non traditional dip for the samosas.
