Been going to elegant Farmer for nine years now do the Apple picking every fall take the train from East Troy to the elegant farmer, which is always fun with kids. They’re apple pie in the brown bag is the best in the whole world. They’re a chicken pot pie is phenomenal and going there in the fall and eating lunch. There is awesome great place to go.

The pumpkin bars, apple cider and cider licks were absolutely delicious. Our strawberries were absolutely beautiful on top, but moldy at the bottom of the package. We'll have to trim them and freeze, so it's not a complete waste. Customer service was meh. The only friendly person we encountered was at the bakery counter. I'd definitely come back just to grab some cake and cider, when I'm in the area.

If you are a fan of farm markets, you should definitely stop here. It has a very wide variety of products including fresh food of course, but also sauces, dip and dessert mixes, popcorn, and several other products. I had a blast while visiting and practically filled my cart with goodies!

Google
This place is fun to shop or just go and look at everything they have. You will buy something! We enjoyed walking thru and bought an apple pie in the bag, smiley face cookies and toffee. All home made right at the store! The smell is enough to make you buy the pie! I can't wait to go back.

Google
Love this place, their home baked in a brown bag pies are to die for!!! The ice cream - amazing!!! Generous servings. Forgot to take pics. Drove 1:40 hrs from Chicago just to visit & grab a few treats!! Their cookies are HUGE! They now have a wine bar added in another little space separate from the store but parking lot just a few steps across. Worth a drive out of the city .

Google
Been visiting this place since the early 90's - nothing has changed and that's a good thing. Yes the apple pie is amazing, but the Peanut Butter balls, cookies, and food make it worth the drive. I drive back 5-10 pies plus treats to Ohio every year. Never change!

Google
A very nice and delicious bakery (mostly all dairy bakery). It has many cheeses, charcuterie and vegetables. At least, I was able to find 1 vegan muffin (The cranberry one).

Yelp
Food is great, service is great, and it's practically in my backyard! I love stopping in for soup or a sandwich for lunch and their pies are our go-to desserts for special occasions.

Yelp
Better customer relationship with employees how are you for part-time work then they expect you to work full-time and when you can't let you go.

Yelp
I've been here twice now around apple picking season and it is an absolute joy! I have loved every experience here. The parking lot is easy to navigate and while it's on the grass, it's well marked with plenty of spots. They have free entry into the apple orchards and you can pay for added fun like a hay ride or to go into the corn maze. We opted for just apple picking and picked up a 1/2 peck bag and their print out guide of what color ribbons go with which apples. My friends and I had so much fun exploring the grove, trying apples, climbing trees and ladders and taking photos while filling our bag with our favorite apple varieties. My personal favorites are the Cortland and Crispin apples. They are sweet, juicy and beautiful. I ended up mostly getting these varieties but others we enjoyed were the Jonathan, Macoun, McIntosh and Ida Reds. On our visit there were thirteen varieties available. My 1/2 peck was $15- a steal when you include the fun of picking and exploring the grounds. It was really cool to see couples, families, friends and more out enjoying apple picking and there was plenty of space where it didn't feel too crowded. Across from the apple picking is the real shopping, they have an indoor market as well as a smaller food court area that does some items and caramel apples. The store has everything you could imagine from coffee and cocoa to honey roasted ham, fresh pies baked in paper bags and cheese curds. I even bought some dog treats to bring home to Oslo. It's easy to stock up on your seasonal favorites or shop locally for gifts. My friends and I had so much fun and will have amazing memories long after our apples and pie are eaten.

Yelp
What an amazing place! We purchased a wide assortment of items. First was the deli where we got chicken salad and ham salad. The ham salad was probably the best I've ever had. Chicken salad was also very good, although we prefer a smaller dice on the onions and celery. We also purchased an Apple pie in a Bag and a Caramel Apple Pie in a Bag for Thanksgiving. The pies were out of this world. Definitely a hit with the Thanksgiving crew. The next item was huge loaf of wheat bread which was also very delicious. We love the interior of the buildings and the decorations for Thanksgiving. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Yelp
Visited the Elegant Farmer recently for some fall fun! Recommend! Nice place for apple picking, an amazing corn maze (that spells Elegant Farmer and has the Happy Barn if you're flying overhead or perhaps a drone), a hayride that was oddly comfortable took us to said corn maze and to pick our our (insanely expensive) pumpkins. We enjoyed our hot lunches (chicken pop pie to die for and pulled pork sandwiches) and shopped the shop- soups, honey, preserves and pickled things, frozen chix pot pies (to take home!) and their famous apple pies made in paper bags that are Americas #1 Apple Pie. Make the trip you'll be glad you did.

Gigi D.

Yelp
I went into buy a sandwich but left $80 later with dressings, pie, and a few lunch items. Absolutely everything was delicious. I wish they weren't so far because their ready-to-go lunch is amazing. I will be back:)

Yelp
Literally the cutest, most wholesome farm shop experience! Everything I have purchased from the Elegant Farmer is soo high quality and delicious. I love their cherry applesauce, popcorn, and the Jalapeno and Cheese Jerkey sticks are all to die for! I can't wait for my next visit!
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
I have one word for this place. Expensive! $25 for a pie? Other items you can buy at Woodmans much cheaper. This is definitely for the tourist. I was very disappointed.
google avatar

Coyote B.

Yelp
It was once a wonderful place to visit and shop, but now it's just another tourist trap retail center with overpriced goods. They still have some good items in their bakery and the Bear Crunch popcorn is always delicious.

G-Man R.

Yelp
Everything is Fresh. Bring a cooler because you will fill it. Pies are perfect, cookies awesome, cupcaks tremendous. Ham is delcious and can be bought by the slice or pound. small selection of cheeses, Hot Pea soup and it is better than your Mothers and chok full with ham. A store full of all natural packaged products for sale. Salad dessings, dips, spices, baking products, popcorn to pop or already made, candies, assorted fresh fruits Also a small Ice Cream counter. There are bottled and canned beverages for sale including natural cider, no Alcohol ( but next door is a Wine store) the Elegant Cork.
google avatar

Yelp
The Elegant Farmer is chock full of delights both broadly available and homemade loaded with friendly employees and a homey, welcoming vibe. The homemade goods are really why you'll want to make the trip though. The apple pie is as good as the legend suggests and the muffins are both huge and delicious.

Yelp
Apple pie here is fantastic, with a truly unique crust. However, it would be great if the staff were friendlier and more informed about their offerings. My 10-year-old daughter asked a simple question about the ingredients in their multi-berry pie, and one of the employees had no idea and didn't seem very enthusiastic about the product.
google avatar

Yelp
I really do not know what the problem was. My son bought an apple pie on Monday and drove up to Iron Mountain to visit. We sat down to celebrate with a delicious pie, and it was moldy. Little blue/green specks. We had a taste test anyway, and it was very rich and luscious, if a bit too sweet, and put it in the fridge to test. In the morning many more spots. OK, then. On Thursday I emailed the place, but jut crickets. Fine. $23 for a pie is not really too much, as good as it could have been, but hey; why the spots? Why did it get moldy so fast? How old was it, really? I would really like to know.

Yelp
The Elegant Farmer just has the best pies in the world. Coming from a baker myself, if I were on death row, my last meal would be an Elegant Farmer pie. Any of their pies. One bite of Elegant Farmer pie will put an instant smile on your face. Not to mention, the experience of the barn is amazing. Service is great, and the ambiance is even better!

Andrew D.

Yelp
Love this place and will go out of my way to pick up an apple pie! The cheese was also really delicious.

Yelp
This was my first time coming for Apple Picking with my family and really enjoyed our time here at the Elegant Farmer. I looked at several apple picking farms but this place came recommended from a friend who has been here before and told me how much she loved it. We bought tickets for the hayrides which us took to the apple orchards and then the corn maze after. They were $6 per person for each. If you come with a big group then this adds up - just something to keep in mind. I also liked that they had the option of half peck, full peck etc. and we could take one per family instead of some other places where it looked like each person had to buy one bag which could be a lot for one family if you are not planning to use up all the apples soon. After we did our apple picking we went to the corn maze which was so interesting. It was not easy but so fun. They do give you a map but i dont think the map helped me at all.. we had to kind of use our intuition and follow some other folks who were also busy trying to discover their path. After our experience there we went across the street to pick up some goodies from their store. It was super crowded but they had an excellent collection of everything and anything. I picked up their famous apple pie baked in a bag and it was super yummy. What a treat for the entire family!

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been there but they have excellent bakery items, soups and sandwiches plus you can pick your own fruits during the appropriate times of the year. Occasional have locally made Carmals and other goodies which makes it a fun destination for the entire family.

Yelp
The Elegant Farmer is legendary, known primarily for paper bag pies. And those are excellent and come in many varieties. You should definitely get one. The store also offers food of just about every kind - there are snacks, there are jams and jellies, there are pickled items, produce and lots of tempting baked goods. While everything is good and this is a fun place to visit, the pricing is set accordingly. It's not a cheap store and it's easy to spend more than intended in mere minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
Elegant Farmer is a must-visit for the pie. The Caramel Apple Pie in a bag is amazing -- just the right amount of sweetness and the perfect combination of fruit and caramel. Huge assortment of cheese curds, salsas, sausages, bakery items, etc. Wanted to get one of everything! Apple cider donuts in the fall are also a must. Long line on a Saturday afternoon to get into the market but moved quickly and definitely worth it, especially if you're like me and love to browse a variety of delicious looking foods. Came during Autumn Fest so the orchard was open as well across the street. There is an adjacent grassy field with plenty of space available for parking. The orchard is huge and lots of fun activities for all ages! It is free to enter and walk around to explore, but you can buy tickets to hayrides and laser tag or you can pick apples/pumpkins. Come for the pie but stay for all of the other market offerings and activities they have!

Carolyn A.

Yelp
Best carmel apple pie ever. Been enjoying Elegant Farmer since I was a kid and will happily take a long drive to grab some cheese, sausages, and grocery items from the store, and of course stock up on pies. It's always a treat to stop by here and a must do from apple season through the holidays.
google avatar

Brin F.

Yelp
I love this place, it has such a nice ambiance. The store is farm/barn themed and has that exact theme. The pies.. they are SO good. Although, the things are on the more expensive side. The things are good. Much variety too. The service is decent here but you don't really interact much anyways.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
We got the rhubarb apple pie in a bag and we were quite disappointed. The crust was very hard and overly sweet and there was not much filling. It was very hard to eat with a little plastic fork provided. It may be better warmed up so it would be great if they offered that service as I'm sure many people take it to go but eat it outside or in the car. It should just come with strong cutting utensils so you don't need to ask.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not a sweet freak by any means and I don't have a sweet tooth compared to the average person so I don't order desserts or buy sweets at the grocery store regularly but I definitely know when I see the good stuff so I will get something sweet. Basically what I'm saying is you won't catch me with a candy bar and the likes but I will occasionally get a sweet treat if it's a high quality spectacular sweet thing. I'm no pie connoisseur by far but the Elegant Farmer has the best DAM pies that keep me coming back for them, I will make the drive. No matter what pie I get it's fuc#ing delicious and the crust is the super star by far because its so sweet and crunchy, almost like brittle like with a great pie filling of your choice. The pies are delicious definitely but that crust is so good and why I keep getting them, honestly I get the pie for the crus. BEST dam pies around so look at my pictures and take one home because you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great place to go if you're looking for a gift ideas. A bit pricey. But it's hard to beat the variety you get at the store. And the great supply of a local cheeses, etc. Usually very busy, however. So don't expect to get in and out of there quickly.

Yelp
4/5 Apple pie is truly great. Lotocally sourced stuff including cheeses, bakery, meats.

Yelp
We visited Chicago in January and decided to drive to Milwaukee. My husbands coworker is originally from Mukwonago and suggested the elegant farmer, so where there's pie, we will visit. We picked up some Cajun seasoning that we enjoy topping our French fries with and a caramel apple pie. YUM. We thought okay how are we going to eat this because it was solid, but just started digging in with our fingers and the crust is like a sugar cookie! We couldn't put it down! My husband kept saying "okay, last bite" like 8 times haha!

Yelp
We stopped at this unique place for lunch during our East Troy Electric Railway trolley ride. This Farm Bakery, Deli, and Market is a charming business that has grown so much during its four generations as a local, family-owned and operated business. Known for their award-winning Apple Pie in a Paper Bag, they sell such a variety of foods, such as freshly baked breads, other fresh fruit pies, Wisconsin cheeses, cider baked hams, gourmet popcorn, deli sandwiches, and even themed items such as shamrock cookies or corn beef for St. Patrick's Day. While we were only there for lunch, I heard that they offer hayrides, corn mazes, and fruit picking on their property as well. Nice place!

Bradyn S.

Yelp
Ummm I usually love this place, but this RUDE woman ruined my day. It was a beautiful Saturday and I was in the mood to pick some apples and take Instagram pictures. Online it said they close at 6pm, and I arrived at 5. I was then scolded that I couldn't pick apples, even though I drove over half an hour to get there. I was given 2 minutes to grab apples and when I returned to pay, I was criticized for taking an extra 3 minutes longer. If employees were required to wear name tags, I would've included her name so Elegant Farmer could have her terminated. She's short, older, and has brown, wavy hair.

Yelp
My husband ate half an Elegant Farmer's pie yesterday - all - by - himself. With each spoonful of it - he kept on remarking how it was seriously the best apple pie he'd ever had. And trust me - as the one who served each slice to him - smelling the sweet aroma of decadent crust and sweet cinnamon apples, with each cut - it was definitely one the best smelling pies I've yet to come across as well. Famous for their Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag - you will often find Elegant Farmer's pie offerings on online websites like Goldbelly - sold out - thanks to the wealth of media hits they receive throughout the year. You can pick up their pies (and countless other delicious sweet and savory goodies) at their physical location (which also houses a deli, store, and garden center) referring to their website - https://www.elegantfarmer.com/where-to-buy/ or refreshing sites like Goldbelly to see when they are back in stock. In addition to their famous pies - The Elegant Farmer also host a wealth of family-fun activities at their farm - so if you're in the area - be sure to set aside time to stop on by. If you're looking to wow this holiday season with a decadent dessert - you can't go wrong with a pie in a brown bag. Trust.

Yelp
The pies are really good and you can buy a lot of stuff at their store. They have a great selection of products
google avatar

Yelp
based on that paper bag apple pie - I received this pie in the mail for my birthday.... and when people say "best pie I've ever had" I dare you to try this apple pie and compare - which pie is the best pie you've ever had? you bake it in the over and whatever sauce oozes out as it bakes, it gets caramelized and then you find yourself eating the syrup drippings that have hardens on the paper and I probably ate alot of paper but it was worth it. this is THE BEST PIE I have EVER had. Incredible Incredible complete deliciousness. I say thank you for this.

Yelp
I've been going to the Elegant Farmer for about 15 years, mostly for apple picking, but at times my wife and I like to go there to pick up some food as well. They do have items that are unusual compared to what I would find in a local grocery store. That atmosphere inside the barn is nice too. It's hard not to go there and not spend more than you planned, but it is not just because the food is so tempting. Probably my only complaint about Elegant Farmer is the cost. We bought a chicken pot pie for $21.99. That seemed like a lot, and my suspicions were confirmed later when we went to another supermarket and saw a similar-sized chicken pot pie for $7.99. I can't imagine what is in their pie that would justify that high of a price. It's a chicken pot pie, for Pete's sake. My wife and I left with $50.53 worth of items. The other items were priced a little high, but nothing like the sticker shock of the chicken pot pie. Will we go back? Probably, but not as often and we won't be buying as much. It will be more for the novelty than the value.

Yelp
YAY for The Elegant Farmer! I haven't been to this place since I was a kid, so I was stoaked when my husband brought up the idea. I am (slightly) obsessed with all things Autumn, so this was definitely the place to be on a chilly, yet sunny Saturday afternoon. Not at all to our surprise, the place was packed when we arrived. Plenty of families, couples, and groups showing up to pick apples and buy pies! We decided to pop into to market first (yep, the one with the big smiley face on the side). Dang was it busy in there, be prepared for crowds! It's literally a maze with floor to ceiling goodies from fresh honey, to holiday cookies, spices, breads, and of course PIES. I love it! We picked out a few yummy items and queued up to check-out. As wild as it is in there, everyone seemed to be patient and friendly. As you leave the market, you'll see a cafe attached to the side. Warm soups, sandwiches and drinks in there to enjoy. We crossed the mini bridge and headed into the apple picking fields. You start by picking your basket size which they give you along with a sheet that specifies which apples are where, based on color coordinated ribbons hanging from the trees. We were after a specific kind of apple to use for our own homemade pies, so the ribbons made it nice and easy! Along our stroll, we of course sampled a few other delicious and juicy apples while enjoying the fresh Fall air. We skipped out on the hay wagon, but it looked like the crowds of people who didn't were definitely enjoying it. I'd love to come back next year!

James T.

Yelp
The pie in a bag is a great gimmick to separate you from your money. I've had way better pie in many places. And the Baby Rice Popcorn is a total ripoff. The corn is advertised to pop smaller so it's more tender. More than 50% of the bottle under pops, leaving a husk so dense, it hurts when it's chewed. Go head and make a purchase if you want to lighten your wallet and end up with regret.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that I'm not a huge fan of baked fruit pie. That being said... Come here to buy their pie. Apple pie. Peach apple pie. Rhubarb apple pie. Strawberry rhubarb apple pie. Blueberry apple pie.. just buy their damn pie. Specifically the ones baked in the bag. Let me explain why. The fruit is perfect. Not to sweet, not too tart, not overly spiced, not too soft, not too wet. Just perfect. Now, that crust.. their crust is like a sugar cookie. Sweet, crispy, caramelized, buttery, chewy in certain places. Put them together and it really is the perfect baked fruit pie! My favorite is the strawberry rhubarb apple pie. It's more tart than the other pies and it's perfect warmed up with a bit of ice cream. My husbands favorite is the peach apple. Honestly, you can't go wrong! I recommend getting the mini pie because there is more crust to filling ratio. Also, if you buy the mini pie, you can buy multiple without feeling too guilty. I also tried their strawberry rhubarb crisp, but the crisp topping can't compare to the pie crust for me. Sweet pie is not your thing? That's fine.. their chicken pot pie is a winner too! Plenty of filling, sauce, chicken, all in a crispy flaky crust. So comforting to eat. They offer their savory pies frozen as well so I'm excited to see how they bake up. Honorable mentions: their seasoned pretzels.. addictive and delicious! The honey mustard flavor is my favorite. Finally, let's talk about their customer service. The weekend I discovered Elegant Farmer and their pies, I came back three times in three days. On the third day, I bought a pie for my in laws. To our disappointment, it was under baked. I reached out to Elegant Farmer and they were so kind and thoughtful in their response. They made sure I got a replacement pie the next day! The pie was PERFECT and my in laws were so happy. Overall, Elegant Farmer is a must visit. You'll leave with a smile as big as the one on their barn!

Yelp
Lots of items to check out in the store! I did get lunch: bratwurst on bun ( I did not eat the bun) and creamy potato salad all in container so I could carry it out to eat. Unfortunately I could not eat the pie baked in a paper bag which is one of their specialties. Good service, friendly people.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! I wasn't sure what this place was all about but was very curious. It looks like a huge barn with a happy face painted on the outside connected to a big warehouse. My friend lives nearby and wanted to show me the giant gem. Walking in it is immediately apparent the decor is cozy and fun. Vintage mixed with country crafts makes this place easy to wander around in. There is a deli, food items, unique things not necessarily found at a traditional supermarket and the most amazing bakery I've ever seen. There are a ton of gift items or cool goodies for yourself. There is custom dip to order taffy apple station! The staff is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I was asked if I need assistance several times while shopping. The check out girl was just as sweet. There are tables to eat at and relax outside. There are a ton of homemade bird baths and birdhouses all around the outdoor seating area. There are even giant rocking horses! Although it's big and surrounded by parking and a busy road passes by, the outdoor area is really comfortable. I loved this place and can't wait to return soon!

Yelp
Best apple pie ever! W caramel yummy too! Cherry pie wonderful also!!! Great place to go!!

Jerry F.

Yelp
Home made fudge is absolutely top notch. Recommended for all I haven't tried the variety I should have in other categories

Susan B.

Yelp
I find myself fortunate to have EF in my neighborhood! I enjoy everything and I can find gifts there as well. They are known for the pie in a bag but I love their seasonal crumbles. Friends and family always put me in charge of desserts when there is a party. Their deli is stellar and bakery is always wonderful.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly staff, and we were allowed to eat with our pups at one of the picnic tables outside. We had a great time, and enjoyed the best apple pie we have ever had!

Yelp
They are nice, the food is pretty good. I've always liked and looked forward to going. However the last time I went will be my last time. We went inside, none of the staff I saw were wearing masks, the person preparing the pulled pork had gloves, no mask, the person serving me had no mask, but gloves, and as I left the cashier didn't have a mask. I was grateful the girl at the deli counter checked me out, so I didn't have to be exposed to more unmasked people for a longer time. A sign indicating masks are required on the door was completely ignored by both staff and patrons, from what I could see. I understand people have personal choice, I understand it's uncomfortable to wear a mask all day, but I also understand that the people coming in without masks cans spread Covid to anyone, and distancing and masks help. I JUST recovered from Covid, finished a 10 day quarantine, and tested negative. It is not fun and this is not a joke. I have family that is immunocompromised, and if they get it, they could DIE. I'm not willing to take that chance for a pie or anything else that is sold there. My family's life is worth more to me than a purchase from a place that shows little concern for their customers well being during a world-wide pandemic. I'm not certain I feel comfortable ordering for shipping or picking up an Elegant Farmer pie if I see one at the grocery store. I will not return.

Linda R.

Yelp
we've been buying the pies from Piggly wiggly for many years and the size went from a 9" to an 8", so I took a friend to the actual home of The Elegant Farmer and purchased the 9". I was so disappointed to find that the crust was thin...it used to be thick and would flow over the sides of the pan and parts of it would caramalize and you could break pieces off that were soooo delicious. Now it's up there with all of the other ordinary pies.. To me this was their signature element that no other pie had, i couldn't beIieve it is now just like any other pie even though the flavor and the apples are exceptional. We decided to eat lunch there and picked out a slice of cherry pie and apple pie to share. Both of these were terrible, we thought they would be the same as the full size pies! Nope, completely tasteless and the apple had a sickly sweet icing drizzled on to. Why would they sell such an inferior product when they make the best apple pie right there? shouldn't it be a slice of the original?
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
Went again this year to stock up on pies and donuts. They are attempting social distancing by placing stickers throughout the store but they're not enforcing it. Though it wasn't as busy as years prior, many people just ignored the distancing and would practically be on our backs. It was uncomfortable in the store. They did separate the hay bales in the other tented area to allow more room for people that ordered food to eat there and there were some tables outside. The pies are amazing but I might just pick them up from our local grocer rather than make the drive in the future.

Yelp
This is a wonderful shop. When you walk in it just feels good and the decor is so inviting. They have a lot of yummy soup pouches. The shop has many homemade products like pot pies, apple or cherry pies, fudge and 2 different homemade carry out soups. They also have really cute bird houses hanging outside. I bought a soup packet, beef sticks, Carmel popcorn and a delicious apple pie. It's just a feel good shop, fun to walk around and take your time looking.

Yelp
The store here has great chicken pot pies (fresh or frozen) and the apple pies in a bag with caramel are amazing. If you haven't gone here, you need to!

Yelp
When we decided to swing down in the area to do some shopping I knew today would be el cheato on the keto diet. All of hybrid delicacies are great. Our family favorites are: apple pie in the bag, the sunflower cookies (ghosts in season), the honey baked turkey, all of their breads, and their soups. In addition to cheating on the diet the other. Oh challenge here is spending less than $50. Enjoy and good luck!

Yelp
Super cute!!! It was freezing cold the day we went, but they can't help that! It's free to get in, but the hayride cost, so if you have time and the weather permits, I wouldn't pay and just meander through the trees! We had a great time and then spent too much money in the store LOL. The popcorn was so good! The apple pie in a bag was WORTH IT! And the cider was good too! The apples were soooo tasty!! Such a fun tripn

Yelp
I went not knowing what to expect and my sister wanted to get the caramel apple pie. I am not an apple pie fan, but this was the BEST pie ever! Just make sure you have good teeth for the caramel
