Nestled in Capitol Hill, Elliott Bay Book Company is a charming haven of books, cozy cafes, and vibrant community events just waiting for your next lazy afternoon.
"Books and Lattes at Elliott Bay Book Company in Capitol Hill The Elliott Bay Book Company is the Seattle bookstore and, thankfully, survived its move from Pioneer Square to Capitol Hill with soul and towering cedar bookcases intact. Elliott Bay lost a significant chunk of square footage during the move but gained a home right in the heart of Capitol Hill. Which makes it even easier to execute the ideal lazy Sunday afternoon combo: new novel + Fonte latte and one of the book-size housemade muffins from the on-site café (if it’s sunny, make a beeline for the grassy Cal Anderson park, just across the street). The food is northwest downhome—unpretentious salads with local greens, wholesome soups—but the abundant outlets and cozy café vibe make up for any food misses. Try it there: The lemon crepe Bring it home: Thomas Pynchon’s Inherent Vice and tickets to a Neptune Theater reading"

Wow! This was definitely a highlight of our trip! We loved this book store! We will be going back every time we visit! There's a fun coffee shop in the back with spots to sit and read, plenty of books to choose from with fun little reviews of them, fun apparel & random things for gifts, vinyls & a fun kids section too! Definitely go check it out!

Went there for a book signing. Had heard of this store but had never had the opportunity to visit. It was very clean and all the books were well organized with each section clearly marked. Had a coffee at the cafe too which also had sandwiches and snacks too with plenty of chairs and tables to sit at. If you're in the area and have a craving for a physical book to purchase, don't pass on this historical little shop! You'll be glad you did!

Great coffee shop, you write, work, or read. I've met here for a couple of Shut Up and Write Meetups, which have been great.
It's an amazing book store too.

This is a must see in Seattle for book lovers!
A cozy atmosphere with cute bookstore merch, all the genres and adorable stationary. It’s an indie bookstore that only sells new books so expect publisher pricing. So happy I visited!

Classic! Great atmosphere! Lovely to see bookstores still up and running. :-)
Unfortunately the stained glass reflects the light on "the other side"... But it's still gorgeous!

Local bookstore at its best and excellence — intimate, warm, human-touched, and dynamic. The ideal kind of intellectual hub for a neighborhood of readers and learners.

Large bookstore with the perfect smell of books mixed with coffee shop. Everything is wooden and full of character. Lots of staff notes and staff picks about books. Really cute branded sweatshirts and bags. The area is fun to walk explore and you should definitely browse this book store the next time you are near Capital
Hill.
