I recently visited the Emerson Restaurant with a small group. on a Friday night it is not clearly marked so we actually walked right by it.
We sat at a high table and I felt the establishment to be a combination of a bar and restaurant. The lighting is dim and it is quite loud, which can be difficult for intimate conversation. It is obviously a popular neighborhood spot as their were many groups from the area grabbing dinner and drinks. Service was good, but nothing over the top.
The menu is composed of entrees, starters and sides, with plenty of alcoholic options. The entrees are not a complete meal it is expected that you order sides.
I had the steak which was cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyed it, but another member of our party was not as satisfied with his own. My girlfriend tried the chicken and felt like it was subpar~as it was fatty and soggy. We sampled all 5 sides and though they were solid I won't be headed back for these alone.
Overall it was an enjoyable experience, but I believe if I had been picking up the tab and had not been in such good company it wouldn't have been as enjoyable of an evening as it was. Certainly would give it another try, but won't be rushing back to do so.
