The Empanada's Box Covington

Have been wanting to try these for a while. The empanadas were delicious. Warm, soft and flaky, tasty fillings. My mom had the noodle salad and said it was very good. The table and chair height/ratio make it a little awkward to sit at comfortably. But otherwise a good find and will be going back!

This is a wonderful spot. The food was amazing. I had the Jamaica and the Mumbai and my wife had the Buenos Aires and Mumbai. I was super impressed with both of mine and my wife loved hers as well. The chimichurri sauce was amazing. We will definitely be back to try other options.

I got the Jamaican and Texas BBQ empanadas with esquites as my side and a can of Coke Zero for $14, and it was all delicious! I will definitely be back!

Love this place!I It’s fast, real food that also tastes incredible. I do not have to feel bad about eating it or feeding it to my son. I have tried almost all the Empanadas. The Bordeaux is by far the best!! But no complaints about any of them. I really wish the Warsaw Ave location had longer winter hours in the evening. I don’t leave work in time to pick up supper. Highly recommend. Friendly worker as well. Will certainly keep returning!

Best flavor packed empanadas I've had in this area. Very tasty veggie rice & lemon shrimp rice. Warm homemade chips & dip also taste great. Everything I had was delicious. They even have frozen empanadas for you to store and/or prepare at home. Great people, atmosphere & location. Dine inside/outside or take-out. You can even have it delivered. It's definitely worth every penny.

This place is a gem. The owners are Argentinian with Lucas as their front person. Great service! The food is through the roof good. They cover beef empanadas from different regions of the world. And they do it well. The flavors are on point They definitely have a special brand of their own. Highly recommended!!

Easily one of the best spots in town for lunch or carryout! They have so many great flavors, you're guaranteed to find something no matter what you're craving! I'm a particular fan of the Miami and Singapore, though you honestly can't go wrong with any of the choices. Save room for dessert as they have some great dessert empanadas (the banana is my favorite) as well as some traditional cookies. The mate makes a great beverage choice, though they do have sodas as well. Staff is also super friendly, they patiently talked me through the different flavors while I was making my choices (I was ordering for a large group) and even helped me carry everything to the car! I will absolutely be back and can't recommend them enough!

I'm a sucker for good Empanadas. When my Mr mentioned this place, I could not pass it up. 100% authentic Argentinian. Lucas the owner was really down to earth. His uncle has been making empanadas for 28 years. Wow! Respect. They have everything you can think of. Beef, chicken, vegan, pork, veggie and sweet. There's something for everyone. Besides the empanadas you can get some sides (a la carte) rice, salads and more! They also do catering. We wanted to try a variety, so we ordered: -Buenos Aires- ground beef, onion, bell pepper, green onion -Singapore-garlic buttered spinach, mozzarella, Parmesan -Parma- ham, mozzarella, Parmesan, oregano, green onion -Buffalo-Buffalo chicken, mozzarella It was hard to choose a favorite because they were all top notch. The fresh Chimichurri sauce enhanced the flavor. I would definitely come back again! Pricing is reasonable and they are so good!

What a neat little place. Very clean. Friendly staff. The chimichurri sauce is amazing. Picked up a jar at Ft Thomas Farmers market and fell in love with it. Bought some brand name from a grocery store and had to throw it out. The Empanda's Chimichurri sauce is amazing. If you try it you will be hooked. Great food. Great place. Give them a try.

I first discovered these guys when they were located near Findlay market, and it's so great they have a Covington location now! They offer such a good assortment of empanada flavors, I appreciate the variety of meats and veg options. There's something for everyone, and you really just can't go wrong with a good empanada!!

This was a great idea to stop in for lunch while we were down at the market! The space is a little small but we were lucky enough to grab an indoor table in the heat outside. The menu is straightforward on the options and descriptions of the different empanadas. I got two empanadas and a side, and the cost was extremely reasonable and the portion enough. Everything was delicious. I got two of the vegetarian empanadas and they were absolutely fantastic, very big fan. Service was prompt and friendly, and I'm definitely going to want to go back.

This is the type of place the five stars speak for themselves. We absolutely loved what we got. We got the Jamaica which we both think it might be their best one it was so good lol. Really you should just go & try a few different ones for yourself. They're small so definitely get more than one. Service was great & helpful. We first learned of Empanada's Box when we saw their booth at Findlay Market (outside). We got a box of assorted empanadas to take home, along with a jar of chimichurri. The empanadas heated up fantastically, and every single one was great. I love that they have everything from traditional empanadas (like the beef Buenos Aires) to local favorites (Cincinnati chili empanada, anyone?) My personal favorite is the Bordeaux short rib, but I'm always game to try their new creations!

We were at the grand opening of their location at Findlay Market. Cute bright place and staff was friendly and pleasant. The empanadas we had were really good especially the Buenos Aires and Lebanon. And their chimichurri sauce is also delicious. But the Asian noodle salad was to purely to DIE for!!! I could eat that as an entree.

Smaller on the inside seating but the service can be quick. But, most importantly these empanadas are AMAZING and delicious. They offer quite a variety of options as well!

Local favorite! This place is standing on business! Great quality, great selection! Give the noodles a try as a side...I know...it sounds weird with empanadas buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it hits the spot. Service is always nice. We never usually eat in -- even though there is an option to. The take out travels well. Don't under order, leftovers work well from this place!

All four empanadas we tried were delicious! Quite a few vegetarian and vegan options as well. Our favorites are the Kentucky, California, and Buenos Aires. Staff was friendly and it was overall just a cute lunch spot for a quick bite!

Incredible experience! Very clean restaurant, great empanadas with a great selection, the kindest employee, and quick service! This isn't a place for groups, however, if others aren't dining in it can accommodate a group. Parking across the street with nearby parking lots. Easy to access! Come get some fresh, hot empanadas or frozen ones to take home!! Got to try the veggie selection and Singapore. All were yummy, but the sauce is what takes this HOME!

This place is so so good! It's a little unassuming shop on a side street. The service was super friendly and the empanadas were off the charts. Great! The price was very reasonable with a great selection. We highly recommend!

My son and I wanted something good but light. Being from the Caribbean I was totally on board for some Caribbean-esque type foods and jumped on board at the suggestion to try it out. Oh my word on a billboard was this place worth it! As we walked up to the door the serious smells alone were causes for serotonin overload. We had the audacity to think we could handle 8 empanadas between us but the server /cashier assisted us expertly to choose four. We ended up splitting 6 total when including the guava and apple empanadas as dessert. No lies were detected. Everything was skrt skrt. (Isn't that how the young people talk these days?) Whatever your flavor profile is Trey have something for everyone. Had my son emulating Keith Lee as he gave nothing less than 8/10 accross the board.

It is hard to find good empanadas in this area, but this place definitely has them. Whatever flavor palate you have there is something for everyone here!

Me and my lady stopped by here to try their new vegan goodies and WOW, they did not disappoint. They have a (V) hearty/comforting veggie soup, (V) noodle dish, and 4 vegan empanadas. Everything came out hot and fresh and full of flavor. The new Louisiana Empanada is probably a new favorite of mine, I woke up this morning still craving it. The service was great as always and the vibe is always welcoming. I cant wait to go back!

I'm visit g Covington KY and had to try the Empanada Box! Lady at the register helped me pick my two flavors. My favorite was Jamaican! It's made with chicken and lots of flavor. They gave me salsa and chips. Salsa and dipping sauce was so good

Having visited Argentina a month ago, I was super excited to try The Empanada Box in Covington, KY! I'm a fan of baked empanadas (rather than fried), so the selection here was wonderful and the 3 I tried were superb!! Sometimes empanadas can be full of air pockets and limited filling. Not only were The Empanada Box flavors delicious, but also the empanadas were FULL. I think the imagination that the owner has shown in expanding the flavors from savory and sweet Argentine flavors (such as the Buenos Aires) to the Cincinnati Chili flavor or Kentucky bourbon shows adaptability and a wide appeal. Flavor names are so helpfully stamped on each empanada! There are bottled drinks for sale as well as sweetened and unsweetened traditional Argentine Mate tea . A selection of mate tea bags pictured. In addition to catering, The Empanada Box offers a take and bake pick your own 8 frozen empanadas box which costs about $32. My 3 dine in flavors were so tasty that I made sure to repeat those in my selection of 8 flavors. Then also included chicken pot pie flavor of the month, breakfast, etc. This way I can bake empanadas at home for a few easy meals. I especially loved visiting with the staff & hearing the story of how the owner spent time perfecting his style in various places and has now watched his business grow through several phases (including Findlay Market) over the last 3 years to the current cozy shop offering dine in right off of the street parking in Covington.

Yall, this place is soooo yummy. It is a staple in the restaurants I chose to go to and love showing it to people! It's great to grab a box and sit outside while you eat. The fillings are AMAZING, I am always trying new ones. Friendly staff :)

I love empanadas and this place has some of the best I have ever eaten. They have a lot of different ones for everyone's taste. The owner is so nice and we talked about how the business started and they are from Argentina I ordered the Filipino which is filled with meat peas potatoes raisins and spices. The Bueno Aires filled with ground beef peppers onions spices and the short rib so tender. All for 12 dollars and a free drink.

I was ecstatic when I stumbled in here. Super wide variety to pick from. My favorites were the Jamaica and the Bordeaux. Their chimichurri is my favorite. We got a bunch to split as is my favorite way to try a new restaurant and the sweet ones were good too. We were able to sit and savor our food while chatting with the super friendly staff.

First tried a variety of their empanadas last summer at their booth at Erlangers Farmers market. That prompted me to get a variety box at the Pike St location. Yummy and fun flavors!

Phenomenal! We picked up some frozen empanadas at Findlay Market and LOVED them! It was so nice different tastes could have the flavors and ingredients they preferred. They reheated beautifully! The chimichuri sauce was amazing! So thankful for a quick, easy dinner that tasted so, so good! We will be back!

This is one of the shops popping up in the area around Findlay market, and it was buzzy when I dropped in. Their options are many, and they had several vegetarian ones (and one vegan). The option to put together a box of frozen ones to go was also available. The lunch combo I got had two empanadas, a side, and a drink. They did not have the side of quinoa I wanted, but the rice was fine. My empanadas had labels stamped on them and delivered an interesting flavor mix, though they were on the small side. The chimichurri on the side was strong. The shop also had a variety of niche Argentinian products (mostly sweets) for sale, and seemed to be the real deal. I wasn't as overwhelmed by my little lunch as the rest of the crowd, but I would come back.

Don't think I've ever left a Yelp review, but felt if I did not for this small business that I'd be doing a disservice. These are hands down the best empanadas I've ever had! Was in town for a 4 day conference, and so glad I stumbled upon this place. My mouth was watering after trying the Buenos Aires, Mumbai and Capri, that I had to come back the next day to try more. Got the Buenos Aires (again because it was that good), the Chicago and the Jamaica! My oh my, pure satisfaction. Empanadas were packed not only with flavor, but could tell with love as well -- and I can't forget the Chimichurri sauce as well! Great customer service, small indoor seating but such a cute vibe. This is a MUST try!

We visited the empanada's box at their new location in Covington today, and everything was fantastic (including the service!). We got 8 empanadas to eat there, and 8 to go. We also got a jar of their chimichurri. Highly recommend

Best kept secret in the tri state. Think of a fancy, healthier hot pocket! You can buy them frozen or have them cooked. You can eat there or get take out. We always get a box to go for a party or Sunday football games. They're a big hit! Meat and vegetarian options. You can keep a box of them in the freezer for a quick, fresh meal. My family loves them. And I have some picky eaters. The staff is friendly and always helpful. They have a GREAT rewards program, so sign up if you go! So happy we found this little spot!

I'd had their empanadas a few times when they popped up at Findlay Market and at WyoCoCo up in Wyoming. Never once had a bad taste - sweet or savory, they both come through great! Probably my favorite is actually the sweet apple empanada, with a caramel dulce sauce. The Buenos Aires is easily the best savory that I've had, but they offer such a selection that it really depends on what you're in the mood for. Recently tried the Cincinnati Chili empanada, and even as someone that isn't a huge Cincinnati Chili fan, I thought this worked out really well. It had a good compliment of the savory and sweet, with well seasoned and generous stuffings, wrapped in the great crust. Go check them out!

Driving from Louisville to Columbus and this sounded like a great stop for lunch. Outstanding food and service! The Jamaican was my favorite. Side salad was fresh and made to order. Side of chimichurri sauce was an excellent dressing.

Best empanadas around Cincinnati!! The service is quick and it's always a fun atmosphere in the little restaurant! They have a new empanada of the month that's always nice to try too. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area

This 10 star review (it looks like 5 because that's all the app can handle) is about one of the best places around (the globe). An empanada is a pocket (of perfect) that has all sorts of tasty goods inside. If you like food, come here. If you like nice people, come here. The local Cincy Chili is my personal favorite (along with the Chicago) but there are tons more. One thing for sure is that this place has something (sweet or savory) for everyone. and wait... I FORGOT TO MENTION THEY HAVE THE... BEST... SAUCE... EVER!!! Chimichurri goes good with everything and never gets old. Ever having trouble picking a good place to eat? Maybe other places are too far or your not feeling them? Can't decide? GO HERE! And it actually doesn't matter if it's far because it's that good. Want a good meal? Fly from as far as London for all I care. Hotels a problem? Fly back the same day. Plan your next trip around this restaurant. ITS THAT GOOD. They also have a picture of the GOAT on their wall. The empanadas are AMAZING. Chill vibes, super cute style, and the the kindest staff. When my boyfriend and I were there we were even given extra dessert for free because the Chef had made extra. We will definitely be back!

We first found out about Empanada's Box when they were a stand in Findlay Market. It has been amazing to see their growth since then. The empanadas can be eaten fresh, and you can also buy them frozen to take home for later. They have seasonal flavors, so be sure to check the menu ahead of time to see what they have. 100% would recommend!

I got a combo with a Cinci chili and Louisiana empanadas. I liked the Louisiana better. The Cinci chili was ok, just beef inside an empanada. I really like empanadas in general though and been a good while since had any good ones before this. Sauce of herbs in oil that came with them was great. Chips and salsa good. Didn't have time to eat there, just stopped to get it to go on the way out of Cinci. It was a nice size though, not big and not too small. They brought out me and my friends food pretty fast. I like that you can get boxes of frozen ones to go. Whenever I get around to going to Cincy again, I'll try to stop here!

This is the problem I have with the empanada box I went in and I got eight frozen empanadas, but I got charged tax like I was eating there which turned into $41 and some change and I don't think that is right as far as food service goes if I'm eating in the restaurant, I understand being taxed, but if I'm taking the food to go, I should not be taxed on food that is taken out and I'm not eating in the restaurant
