It was our first time traveling to Hong Kong and we did asked our friends and family before hand on where to stay, because we planned for a 8 days trip. So we decided to stay in one hotel only.
We knew already that most of the hotels in Hong Kong are relatively small, especially for a big-size family as ours. But it turned out that Emperor Hotel has a sizable room for us to still feel cozy and warm (or cold - as the AC is very cold).
I read the 1* reviews, and I do understand what some of them has gone thru. We arrived at 1 am straight from the airport, and there was no drop-off car as most of the hotels, so we just stopped on the side of the road and dropped our luggage from the car, but there were no hotel staffs helping. Good thing the taxi driver was so nice to help us carry our luggage up the stairs to the lobby.
As suspected, there were no bell boy to help with our luggage, we asked. So, yea, we managed to push our luggage to our room. Thankfully, our room was just in front of the elevator, as if it was a private room.
We did not buy any breakfast, as we wanted to experience local breakfast near the hotel. Alas, we always woke up late, and took a shuttle to the destination. Yes. the Hotel offers free shuttle to Cosway Bay or Central Station - and this is the best treat of the hotel. Unfortunately, there are no return destination to the hotel.
Overall, for us the stay was nice, because we only needed to sleep, no breakfast, and needed the shuttle. As we returned home, we had an early flight, so, we needed to check out at 4am. The Front Office staff was there, and our check-out process was smooth.
