The Emperor Hotel 英皇駿景酒店

It was our first time traveling to Hong Kong and we did asked our friends and family before hand on where to stay, because we planned for a 8 days trip. So we decided to stay in one hotel only. We knew already that most of the hotels in Hong Kong are relatively small, especially for a big-size family as ours. But it turned out that Emperor Hotel has a sizable room for us to still feel cozy and warm (or cold - as the AC is very cold). I read the 1* reviews, and I do understand what some of them has gone thru. We arrived at 1 am straight from the airport, and there was no drop-off car as most of the hotels, so we just stopped on the side of the road and dropped our luggage from the car, but there were no hotel staffs helping. Good thing the taxi driver was so nice to help us carry our luggage up the stairs to the lobby. As suspected, there were no bell boy to help with our luggage, we asked. So, yea, we managed to push our luggage to our room. Thankfully, our room was just in front of the elevator, as if it was a private room. We did not buy any breakfast, as we wanted to experience local breakfast near the hotel. Alas, we always woke up late, and took a shuttle to the destination. Yes. the Hotel offers free shuttle to Cosway Bay or Central Station - and this is the best treat of the hotel. Unfortunately, there are no return destination to the hotel. Overall, for us the stay was nice, because we only needed to sleep, no breakfast, and needed the shuttle. As we returned home, we had an early flight, so, we needed to check out at 4am. The Front Office staff was there, and our check-out process was smooth.

The place where I’ve stayed twice. My previous stays were in 2024. I love this neighborhood (Wan Chai) — quite quiet and more like a residential zone. The hotel is located on one of the street corners, very symbolic and easy to find with its exterior design. The room was good and I had a good sleep here😌 Enjoyed the stay!

Stayed here with a good girl friend for our first visit to Hong Kong and it was a wonderful experience! The rooms were nice and clean and the location was super convenient. Really close to a lot of transit options and lots of good food spots. Nothing outstanding to note about the service but it was quick and efficient which is really all you need. The highlight was absolutely the rooftop lounge where we were given some drink vouchers for. Totally worth checking out if you’re staying here. It’s a lovely space, not too loud, the music was good and the drinks were actually sooo yummy. Somehow one of the most memorable parts of the trip sitting here with good company and good drinks.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted politely and checked in. We had to explore the area and return to the rooms two hours later because we couldn't check in any earlier. Despite my request when booking, it was not possible to get both rooms next to each other. The website's room photos were clearly taken with a wide-angle lens, as became apparent when we opened the door. The rooms were slightly smaller than expected. However, the rooms were clean and had a great shower in terms of water pressure and temperature, so no complaints there. However, the air conditioning was noisy. You could only turn it on when you weren't in the room. The sounds of the elevator and the people using it could be heard constantly as our room was directly opposite the three elevators. The bed was incredibly hard, to the point that it was almost more comfortable to sleep on the floor. It was made neatly every day, though.|Wi-Fi was available, but it was not fast enough to stream anything. Due to the lack of security, it is advisable to use a VPN. The staff created a very friendly atmosphere. This was especially true of the cleaning lady and the breakfast staff. The breakfast was satisfactory, but it was necessary to wear a cardigan or jacket as the room was next to the reception area and the entrance door was constantly opening and closing. Even outside the holiday season, it was often very busy, resulting in queues for the breakfast room. We had a great time exploring Hong Kong, thanks to the hotel's location. The hotel itself was fine, but we didn't get the impression that the reception staff were doing their best to make our stay even better. In terms of hospitality, there is still room for improvement.

Booked through agoda. Notice: the free breakfast is only for 2. If you are staying with your kid, you have to pay 78 HKD for breakfast for your kid even if they hardly eat anything. And breakfast buffet menu is almost the same every day. Rooms: Smaller but sufficient. I stayed on 15th floor on deluxe room. Views were good. Location: 3 bus stops located within 500m walk and wan chai MTR is 800m away. And they offer free shuttle service that was so helpful. Check in and check out process took only 5 minutes. I requested the front desk for late check out for about 1 hour after my check out time, they said ok without any extra charges. Throughout my stay there was no noise or any disturbance from adjacent rooms. A very good budget hotel to stay in wan chai. I had a pleasant stay. Only negative thing is breakfast.

Nice 4 star level hotel ideally situated near Happy Valley racecourse. Decent well appointed rooms with a view. Enough space for two, although would be tight depending on luggage, and certainly plenty for a single, Furnishings are of an OK standard, and there are an array of bedside lighting controls and sockets close at hand. Bathroom has wet/dry seperation, a good amount of bench space, the shower assembly functions very well and supplies strong hot water pressure.on demand Hotel has a small but useful gym, free shuttle bus to Hong Kong station and bistro. Breakfast was about 109 HKD (just so so). Overall, this is a good mid range priced choice and perfect if in town to attend a major HC race meet

The hotel is quite well located, a 15-minute walk from Times Square. It's quiet. The rooms are a decent size but lack storage space. The bathroom has one sink and one shower, and it's really lacking in light, especially if you're trying to put on makeup. The view is unobstructed. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of Chinese and Western dishes. There is a shutle bus but not enough rotation.

Stayed here for 5 nights in total with a baby and we really felt comfortable and cosy in the room. The beds were comfortable, there was a HDMI to plug in a firestick, nice and clean and we had a nice view of the city and the peak. Only downside was location, which is a 10min walk to the MRT but plenty of buses and tram options to get to wan chai.

During the pandemic situation, we decided we wanted to take advantage of a less busy Hong Kong and be tourists in the city that we work in. We were able to split the rooms between the four of us, but unfortunately, our first room had the smell of someone smoking like a cigarette indoors when we turned on the air conditioning. We were able to be moved for free thankfully, and our staff member helping us was so accommodating. It was just nice being able to stay on the Island overnight during the days we were on the Island. Trying to catch a bus all the way back to New Territories at night is a Herculean task. It is a drag if you can't truly enjoy nightlife on the Island.

So I stayed here my last two nights in Hong Kong . I had a deluxe / superior room and paid about $68 a night booking in advance with Agoda . The room was super cute ...quaint with a view of the skyline that made falling asleep extra dreamy . As for the location itself it's about 8 minute drive / Uber to central which is where a lot of amazing bars and museums are . It's also walking distance from the happy valley race track where there are Wednesday nights races that are officiated in English ! Service is what you expect from Hong Kong ( varied ) but overall a good stay . The doorman and bellhop were happy to lend me a hand with my bags which seems basic but what the Hyatt centric failed to do upon my check out where my room was 4x the price per night . As a bonus On my last day checking out I found out that there was is an actual Michelin star restaurant in the hotel located on the first floor called golden valley . After not being able to secure food from Mott 32 ( see my other review ) I was still determined to get a pork dish to take with me to the airport to accompany my fried rice and dumplings and the food did not disappoint! Overall great value for Hong Kong.

TL;DR: My flight was delayed and the Hotel refused to allow me to check in a day late or work with me in any way. There was an issue with my flight when traveling from Shanghai to Hong Kong and I realized I would arrive a day later than the time my reservation was for. I contacted the hotel to let them know and to confirm my reservation would be held. They replied telling me that they can't talk to me, that all communication has to go through Hotels.com, the site I booked the Hotel on. Uh, ok. So I contact Hotels.com and they get back to me and tell me that the Emperor Hotel refused to honor the reservation, or give me a refund! So basically because of a flight delay they're going to take my $740 and throw me out on the street without any place to stay in a foreign city. I contacted the hotel again to verify, but they again refused any communication! I say again: the hotel flat-out refused to speak to a paying customer over the phone, or answer any questions by email, even when it was, to me, an emergency situation. Thankfully, I was able to get a last-minute reservation at a much better hotel at a comparable price, but I am still very upset that the Emperor Hotel essentially stole $740 from me. There is a special place in hell for people like that. In all my years of travelling I have never encountered a hospitality business that is run this way. STAY AWAY from this dump at all costs. It is clear that their business model is not based upon customer satisfaction, but on fleecing your for every penny they can get. I wouldn't feel safe in their properties and would be very concerned about leaving valuables unattended in the room. These people are crooks and scam artists and should not be in any business, anywhere in the world. I should add that when I saw the hotel for myself I realized it is quite dirty and is located in a remote, industrial part of town. You can do much, much better for a similar price in HK.
