Best New Restaurants in Baltimore, According to Eater Editors | Eater DC

"The canned tea sensation endorsed by the Today Show and Gwyneth Paltrow made a big Charm City comeback this year. Dubbed Baltimore City’s first matcha bar, the extended pop-up sits inside the old JBGB building on North Howard Street. Swing by for a strawberry matcha, matcha rice crispy treats, matcha poundcake, and other green goodies." - Jess Mayhugh

Beautiful drinks that raise the bar on MATCHA! Whether you’re new to the drink or a fan favorite, you’ll LOVE how Equitea approaches it. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although busy (a great sign!) they prepare the drinks at a good pace. I’ve gone twice now and love the real community feel. The vibes are so good!

First of all, I had one taste here and I’ve been hooked. So going to Equitea is weekly visit for me which I use as self care. The owner, Quentin, is such a humble, welcoming and genuine being. I love the care and attention he puts into making each crafted drink. I love how unique the ingredients are, like having apple sugar and maple sugar to sweeten the drinks. The space is large with adequate space to sit inside and outside. Equitea will change your perspective of the “grassy” flavor of matcha, and make you a life time lover. I’ve had the yuzu matcha soda, lavender oat milk matcha with apple sugar, dirty iced matcha, dirty horjicha iced matcha several times and they are PERFECT each time. Talk about consistency. The matcha Rice Krispie treat and matcha pound cake are AMAZING also.

Hands down my favorite matcha spot! Every visit feels like a treat—not just because of the drinks (which are consistently amazing), but because of the incredible hospitality. Quentin, the owner, goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. You can tell he genuinely cares about the experience and the community he’s built around this place. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, you’re greeted with the same kindness and attention to detail. It’s always a vibe, and it’s always worth the visit!

Soo good, we tried the iced lavender and OG matcha sweetened with honey. We also got a Crogel (croissant bagel) with cream cheese and it was so unique, we had never heard of it. It was delicious, it only took about 30 min to order and get our food and drinks.

I tried a lavender matcha latte here for the first time and loved it so much that I went back the next day! My drink was not only delicious but, was also very aesthetically pleasing. Everyone was so kind and you could tell that they really appreciate their customers and love what they do. 10/10 for me and I’ll be back again soon!

IMO tastes nothing like matcha. Have now tried 3 different versions from here. All I taste is either honey, milk or lemonade. Can see how people who like milky matcha would rate it highly. But don’t recommend if you’ve been drinking for years and want a real earthy flavor of matcha.
