Bar, restaurant, cinema, and event space with live music

"The Exhibit is a loud and proud three-story restaurant in Balham and it’s one of those places that does a bit of everything. A bit of cinema, a bit of live music, a whole lot of boozy brunch action. The food here isn’t going to revolutionise your relationship with the common egg, but stick to the avocado on toast and big egg energy dishes and you’re in safe hands. Please note, they do have one of those bottomless brunch, relay-race of prosecco deals and you’ll either be very into that or you just violently shivered. Either way, there’s enough space for you, your friends, your friends’ friends, and your favourite of the bunch, your dog." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
"Ever since we were four years old and saw The Little Mermaid for the first time we have held one belief above all others. Put simply, you cannot have a bad time if crustaceans and upbeat tunes are involved. This Sunday you’ll find both at The Exhibit, a three-storey restaurant and bar in Balham where their alt-sunday lunch includes a whole lobster, fries, salad, and ‘a glass of bubbles’ for £25. Their house band will be kicking things off at 2pm and, yes, you will need a ticket. FYI if you’re looking for something else to do in the area this Balham Comedy Festival is also taking place two minutes up the road at The Bedford." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak
"The PDR situation: a private room that you can decorate to your heart's content. Cost: in the words of Ye, it’s Free.99. You just have to pre-order your food in advance. Planning an outdoor Amalfi coast-themed party in a city like London relies on too many variables. The most critical, and helpfully unpredictable, is the weather. That stunning British weather. Book the private room at this multi-storey Balham bar and restaurant for summer feelgood energy, without having to google last-minute flights to Naples. There’s a long drinks list that covers everything from pints to pornstar martinis, and their private dining room is spacious and comes with no booking fee—just huge windows, huge speakers you can play your own music from, and huge birthday potential. The only thing you’ll have to do is make sure your guests pre-order from the all-day menu of solid brunch and burger options." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak
"Sure, when you were 16 you smoked cigarettes behind the school bike shed to show any prospective partners that you were oh-so cool. Thankfully, that tragic right of passage has passed and now you can replace smoking (coughing) with spicy cocktails when you’re looking to spark a little romance. The Nutty Mai Tai at buzzing multi-story bar, The Exhibit will do just that. They’ve also got all of your classic cocktails covered and have plenty of outdoor space if your date happens to coincide with golden hour. There’s no lack of good date drinking spots in these parts, but Brother Marcus’ charming little back garden should be at the top of your agenda if you’re going to be doing - or at least attempting - to flirt. Get the mezcal and pomegranate Dumanli cocktail." - heidi lauth beasley
"Half-price on selected cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails from 4pm to 7pm every day If you’re into Happy Hours that come with a side of tranquil fish watching, then The Exhibit should be on your radar. This huge three-storey spot in Balham not only has an aquarium that will ignite all those childhood memories of begging for an angelfish at Pets At Home, they also have a three-hour Happy Hour every single day. Grab a velvet bar stool and get involved in tarted-up mango margaritas and lychee martinis." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
