"The Exhibit is a loud and proud three-story restaurant in Balham and it’s one of those places that does a bit of everything. A bit of cinema, a bit of live music, a whole lot of boozy brunch action. The food here isn’t going to revolutionise your relationship with the common egg, but stick to the avocado on toast and big egg energy dishes and you’re in safe hands. Please note, they do have one of those bottomless brunch, relay-race of prosecco deals and you’ll either be very into that or you just violently shivered. "Ever since we were four years old and saw The Little Mermaid for the first time we have held one belief above all others. Put simply, you cannot have a bad time if crustaceans and upbeat tunes are involved. This Sunday you’ll find both at The Exhibit, a three-storey restaurant and bar in Balham where their alt-sunday lunch includes a whole lobster, fries, salad, and ‘a glass of bubbles’ for £25. Their house band will be kicking things off at 2pm and, yes, you will need a ticket. There’s a long drinks list that covers everything from pints to pornstar martinis, and their private dining room is spacious and comes with no booking fee—just huge windows, huge speakers you can play your own music from, and huge birthday potential. "Sure, when you were 16 you smoked cigarettes behind the school bike shed to show any prospective partners that you were oh-so cool. Thankfully, that tragic right of passage has passed and now you can replace smoking (coughing) with spicy cocktails when you’re looking to spark a little romance. The Nutty Mai Tai at buzzing multi-story bar, The Exhibit will do just that. They’ve also got all of your classic cocktails covered and have plenty of outdoor space if your date happens to coincide with golden hour. There’s no lack of good date drinking spots in these parts, but Brother Marcus’ charming little back garden should be at the top of your agenda if you’re going to be doing - or at least attempting - to flirt.
