Delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch place! When you come here, you'll notice a few things. One of the first things you'll notice from the outside is how beautiful the place is, especially the outdoor seating, on a day with nice weather. The second thing you'll probably notice is how small the menu is. But, that is an ABSOLUTELY good thing! Per the words of a well know Michelin star chef, a restaurant with a smaller menu is usually better than one with a humongous menu. Why? Because it shows that, most likely, they specialize in and are excellent at making whatever few items they DO have. That definitely holds true here as almost all of the food was above average! (Having an 11-page menu tells me that you can't possibly be a master at cooking all of the things.)
I'll start by saying that the turkey chili was simply excellent. The chunks of turkey were big, juicy, and flavorful and just contributed so well to the dish. The dish was well seasoned and delightful. Secondly, the macaroni and cheese was also scrumptious. Again, delightful as a side. And the sandwiches - my goodness! I can't remember their names, but I took a bite of my friend's sandwich that had pulled pork and coleslaw, and I was amazed. It was extremely good. My sandwich had chicken breast, cheese, spicy aioli, and avocado slices. The sandwich was hefty and filling, and the chicken was very moist.
The French toast was not my favorite, but it was still quite good. I dislike all scrapple so I can't be the judge of their scrapple, but my friend thought it was just okay. That's about as far as the complaints go with the food. It was overall a superb meal for a Saturday morning brunch. I'd also like to note that the food just simply feels healthier than a lot of alternatives. It was even evident in the drinks, which were higher quality. For instance, the food was so much less greasy than I'm used to at other places, and they even had Boylan cane sugar sodas rather than your regular Pepsi.
Overall, for two Boylan colas, a pulled pork sandwich with a side of chili, a chicken sandwich with a side of mac and cheese, and a plate of French toast, the bill was at right about $44. Somewhat of a normal price for this sort of meal. The service was good, too. I would certainly come back and I recommend you try this place as well.
