We were looking for some fun and unique place to take my daughter for her birthday, and this place was perfect! The setting and atmosphere of this place can't be beat, right in the heart of downtown nestled amongst skyscrapers sits this old historic house. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with some cocktails, which they have quite an extensive list of. Then we ordered the bacon wrapped, chorizo stuffed dates; to die for!! I ordered the braised short ribs and both my wife and daughter ordered the sea bass. All were tender and delicious! Finally we capped off the evening with the tiramisu, yum!

Pricey, but very good. It is in a very old house remade into a restaurant, and it is very cute and small. The date appetizer we could have skipped, but the carrot salad with beets was amazing, we just wanted a little bit more cheese. The cherry duck on a bed of parsnips with asparagus was fantastic. Cherries balanced the flavors well, not too sweet. Short ribs were also super rich and delicious with mashed potatoes.

Worth the money. I visited with my partner while we were vacationing in Arizona. Oh my god the afternoon tea was to die for!! If you love high quality tea and dining like it's Victorian era you'll LOVE this place. I believe my server's name for the afternoon tea was Morgan? She was wonderful and kept filling our ever vanishing ramekin of sugar cubes. Whenever we finished the finger sandwiches both my partner and I sat there wishing for more, then Morgan came back with another plate of sandwiches for us! The scones were the softest I've ever had, the butter and raspberry jam complimented both perfectly. We came back later in the day for dinner and it was the same fabulous treatment as the early afternoon. I ordered the filet, but loved the potatoes the most 🤣 Our server gave us a tiramasu on the house since it was my birthday. I will absolutely be planning to visit here everytime I'm in Arizona, especially for the afternoon tea!!

I found Farish House after researching restaurants near downtown as we had tickets to a Comedy Show the same night. We were about 20 minutes early for our reservation but got seated immediately which was awesome. We had a new queso dip they had just added to the menu the day before, and we split the pork chop entree as well as sides of broccoli and mac & cheese. Everything was delicious! The pork chops was tender, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. We also had the blackberry smash cocktail. Service was great. The quiet atmosphere and eclectic decor were exactly what I was hoping for. Besides one very loud obnoxious group in the next room who must have thought they were at Texas Roadhouse, it was perfect. We will definitely be back to try more of the divine menu!

Nice place to eat at Phœnix DT. Not too many choices but flat of qualities. A lot of European dish a little revisited. This changes most of the restaurants in Phœnix. Not very cheap but it is probably due to quality products. Super nice service and very good cocktails.

First time here, and I was speechless as soon as I tasted the Land and Sea Coquilles. It was unlike anything I've ever eaten—absolutely incredible. We also ordered the Mediterranean Rockfish (no photo, but trust me, it looked as amazing as it tasted), The Stew, and the Potato Leek Soup. The soup had an incredibly silky texture, and the stew was perfectly balanced, with a depth of flavor that showcased expertly braised meat and vegetables. Naturally, we couldn’t resist trying multiple desserts after such an unbelievable meal. The tiramisu, bread pudding, and creme brulee were all masterfully presented, and their flavors were every bit as impressive as their appearance. The indoor dining area had a wonderfully relaxing vibe that elevated the entire experience. We sat indoors, but the outdoor seating had the same great feel It’s rare to find a place where both the ambiance and food are this exceptional. I’ve never enjoyed a meal like this anywhere else. While there are many excellent restaurants in the Valley, The Farish House went above and beyond, exceeding my (always very high) expectations at every turn. I genuinely cannot find a single flaw with this restaurant. (I hope my wife is sitting down 😀) I urge everyone to try my new favorite restaurant in the Valley—this place is a must-visit.

Google
This place was all of that, PLUS! Great Food, wonderful selection of wines, and incredible service. Its a bit small so I'd suggest making a reservation, which was easy to do on their website. Thank me later!

Google
What an exquisite experience. The staff is amazingly friendly. The service was spot on. From great dining suggestions to the perfect amount of small talk, the environment is comforting and welcoming. There wasn’t a dish that came to the table that wasn’t delicious. From the appetizers like the dates and the pate, to the braised short rib, scallops and the duck, we enjoyed everything. I highly recommend tapas style dining (if your party is willing to share their dishes) so you can try more items. We finished with the peach pie and the tiramisu. Both excellent, but the pie took the cake. They managed to make the crust very crispy while still somehow melting in your mouth. Just amazing! This is a must if you’re in Phoenix.

Yelp
I finally made it to the Farish House and it lived up to the reviews! The food had layers of flavor that were so well balanced but complex at the same time. We ordered lots of things so we could try as much as possible. Bread and olives: compound butter was a nice touch, olives were exceptionally good Bacon Wrapped Dates: I personally like the smaller size, the back was crispy and it was a delicious combo of sweet and savory Carrots: the goat cheese cream was all melted into the honey garlic to make a dreamy sauce Duck Fat Fingerlings: perfectly cooked and the Moroccan spiced aioli was so good!! Potato Leek soup: a little thicker than I prefer, but the tasted made up for it and the crispy leek garnish added a nice texture Le Mac: I find that a lot of mac and cheese is too soupy or too dry and this was just right! It was full of flavor with the right touch of nutmeg and the crispy parm on top was a nice touch Short Ribs: Tender and the polenta was perfectly creamy Filet: This was cooked well with great flavor. The one and only complaint was the potatoes dauphinois. We all 3 tasted it and it had zero flavor, like plain boiled potatoes. I can only imagine it was a mistake as everything else was so incredibly flavorful. They were gracious enough to swap another side to replace it (ordered a second polenta!) We also ordered the Side car, Blackberry Smash (add vodka), spicy paloma and the Rosemary Lemon Drop. All were fantastic! The service was very good and everyone was attentive and friendly. There is an inexpensive parking lot behind the restaurant and if you ask staff, they can give you a code for a discount! I would definitely recommend The Farish House!

Yelp
We're in town again and decided to stop by the Farish House again. We made reservations but it wasn't super clear (to us anyway) that the reservation was for outside. It's been very cold and windy here the past few days, but that's fine - they have heaters and my mistake for not noticing (we would've booked somewhere else). The menu had a lot of the same items we enjoyed on our last visit, but we wanted to change things up and try some new dishes. For starters: - Raclette - Brussels Mains: - Cassoulet - Pork Belly The raclette is good in theory, but this is a dish that simply does not translate well to sitting outside in the cold. The melted cheese was hard and congealed within minutes of setting the plate down and nobody likes congealed cheese. If you're sitting outside and it's a cooler evening, I'd recommend avoiding this dish. The brussels sprouts were pretty average to be honest. They were boiled then roasted with a bacon, raisin, walnut sauce of sorts. The brussels were overcooked and had absolutely no color on them. Very poor execution on what could've been a really stellar dish. So far, this experience is nothing like our last dining experience. The cassoulet was the best dish of the night, but it was laughably small for a $36 entree. The cassoulet dish was about 5-6" in diameter - so small that the duck leg wouldn't even fit entirely in the dish. It's a bit of a dryer style of cassoulet, but the confit was delicious (although, slightly overcooked and dry in parts), as were the beans and sausage. For comparison, take a look at Bistro Jeanty's cassoulet for about the same price. Lastly, the pork belly - it was overcooked and pretty dry. A lot of the components of our appetizers were on this dish - wish the server would've mentioned it. The raclette had fingerling potatoes that were on this dish. More or less the same brussels were also on this dish. Overall, it was a really disappointing meal and not at all like our previous experience. Maybe it was an off night.. who knows. We'll try some new spots next time we're in town for business.

Yelp
10/10. The patio is the perfect ambiance for a lovely date. The food was delicious. The price was fair and portions were generous. We also snagged happy hour for some of the apps and drinks for a couple bucks off! We enjoyed the blueberry smash mocktail, tequila old fashioned, bacon stuffed with chorizo wrapped dates, goat cheese carrots, duck fat fingerling potatoes, & le Mac with two short ribs added. All of it was so delicious we will definitely be back! Our server was sweet and the perfect balance of checking in with us. Lastly we ended with the furry pecan brownie - mmmm!

Yelp
If you want a gorgeous, cozy restaurant for a sweet date night, The Farish House is the perfect place to go. It's perfect for patio weather -- set along the quieter streets of downtown Phoenix -- or for dining in the historic home. After making a reservation online, we were seated immediately for our anniversary dinner. Our lovely hostess gave us a head's up that the Chianti-braised short rib--which we definitely had our eyes on--was running low, so we were able to put in our order for that to ensure it didn't sell out. So glad we did! The meat is so tender, and the veggies and polenta pair fantastically with the dish. The Mahi Mahi Provencale came with a surprise standout: the ratatouille. I would definitely order this on its own, though the fish was delicious! We also thoroughly enjoyed our starter, the Kale & Goat Salad that comes with tasty dried fruits and a dijon-maple vinaigrette. The non-alcoholic drinks are also lovely here! Love the selection of mocktails. I would definitely return--it's one of the better elevated dining experiences (especially at its price range) in a lovely area to walk around afterward.

Yelp
We came here for dinner Tuesday night and everything was great once again. The rooms with dining tables inside were all completely empty but there were some people sitting at the bar. The chicken liver pate, duck and carrots side were all delicious. The knickerbocker grew on me this time. It wasn't an instant like.

Yelp
Met up with some girlfriends for dinner and drinks before we set off for a show downtown. We made reservations to ensure we would have seating in time. I was pretty excited to give Farish a try, it had been on my bookmark list for months! After checking out the menu we went with small plates to share. We ordered the dates, marinated heirloom tomato burrata, honeyed nut and fruit crostini and a side of Le Mac with short rib added. Everything tasted amazing, my favorite was the dates tho . They are noor dates stuffed with chorizo wrapped in bacon with a tomato jam. We all enjoyed our bites and drinks at The Farish House. Glad to have finally given them a try!

Yelp
Small parking lot in the back for free parking. Nice, cozy restaurant. Since space is limited be sure to make a reservation. The menu didn't have many options so we were struggling to figure out the second dish we wanted. Must get the Chianti Braised Short Ribs! This was so good and especially the polenta was made so well. I would have gotten two of short rib dishes if I knew how the Lobster Risotto was going to taste. I didn't really like the flavor and it barely had any lobster pieces. It was not worth it. Service was great! A reminder they do not allow customers to bring their own cakes since they have their own cakes.

Yelp
Farish House is a really nice restaurant in DT PHX. It is tucked away in an old house with a cute cozy vibe. It truly felt like you were dining in someone's home. The table sat our party of 10 very well and we're sat in a room in the back. It was great since we were the only table in that room, which was perfect since we were celebrating our friend's birthday. It created a nice intimate setting. My husband and I shared the short rib and dates. I liked the dates, but I wish the chorizo inside was spicer to complement the sweetness of the dates. The short rib was delicious. It was tender and had a nice presentation. I enjoyed the polenta a lot - it was creamy and flavorful. The balsamic drizzled on the plate and the gremolata on top paired well with the short rib. The gremolata had rosemary, which enhanced and did not overpower the dish. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed a lot. I ordered an espresso martini for dessert, which was good but I have had better ones at other restaurants. The service was pretty good. The wait staff made sure we had lots of water. Although I thought they would check on us a little bit more. Parking was okay. There is a small lot in the back, which is nice that is an option. We unfortunately did not get parking there and had to pay for street parking. Overall nice spot in Phoenix to have dinner!

Yelp
Very cute restaurant, and very nice host and wait staff. Lots of metered parking nearby. Greeted with free truffle popcorn right when we sat down. Ordered the Duck Fat Fingerlings and Olive/Baguette with butter shareables, all of which were very tasty! My friends both got the filet mignon, and while the mashed potatoes were good, and the steaks were cooked correctly, but they said the steaks were rather bland, which was disappointing for the price point. My duck cassoulet was alright, the duck was moist, but the skin was almost too cripsy/dry. The whole meal seemed like almost too much food, with the pork and sausage in the cassoulet, along with a whole duck leg, at least you get your moneys worth. Maybe french food just isn't my thing.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance here. The restaurant is based in a house and it almost feels like you're over at a friends for dinner. The live music was a great touch as well. We had the short ribs, brussel sprouts, oysters, and white fish. Everything was tasty. Our waiter was also so friendly.

Yelp
First time at Farish House. We came to celebrate our 40th anniversary. I suppose it was fitting that we dined an a house even older: the Farish House was originally built in 1899. It had seen multiple iterations but seemed to have found its niche. It was a really cute, if loud, quaint converted home. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating, but at 109 degrees on a June evening, we chose inside. We were immediately seated (reservations) in the 'front room' with three other parties. We loved the wonderful, time-worn decor. The acoustics were bare, so the loud birthday party at the next table was innocuous but we couldn't blame them for that. My wife ordered the simple salad, fingerling potatoes and the scallop risotto, plus a glass of wine. I got the Caesar salad, candied carrots and the short ribs. It all came to $123.80 plus tip. Our salad arrived quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by mine. It was baby whole-leaf romaine, dressed with a tangy dressing and freshly shaved Parmesan. The 'croutons' were two-inch cubes of soft garlic bread. Perfect. Our entrees and sides arrived shortly after we finished our salads. The glazed carrots had a nice zip to them and the potatoes had a yummy turmeric and curry aioli. My short ribs, nestled in warm polenta, were rich, savory and tender. My knife went ignored the entire meal. I must say, I hadn't had a meal so elegant, graceful, fulfilling, soulful and downright tasty in a long time. We will be back.

Yelp
Food is great and so is the service! Came here for dinner one night and got a take outside in the courtyard. The weather was perfect and they had a 4 piece quartet playing love music outside. It was sooooo nice! I asked my server for recommendations from the sweet server, and she gave me a few. I was feeling adventurous and ordered something I've never tried before and was I in for a treat. The food was absolutely fantastic! Flavor was on point, everything went well together. I was in food heaven. Meter parking on the street, pretty easy on a weeknight. The whole place was super cute! Wonderful experience! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Super cute historic house restaurant, I love that we have these in Phoenix. The patio was adorable especially when the lights turned on, unfortunately when we made our reservation we thought it would be too hot to sit out there and requested an inside table. We were seated in what we coined the birdhouse room which had incredibly plain and woody, uninteresting decor consisting of actual birdhouses, drawings of birdhouses, plain wooden tables with uncomfortable mismatched wooden chairs, and with zero pops of color. Other rooms I peeked at had color on the walls and drapes, decor that seemed more on par with the menu prices. Now, the menu and food... either the current menu, or the place, is REALLY into duck and pork, maybe beef too, to the point where it was tough for a *chicken and fish (lean protein) person* to actually order a meal. The only fish was swordfish, which in my opinion is neither good nor good for you. There was a vegan mushroom Wellington but it had almond cheese and I didn't trust a meat place to do that well. So I ordered the saffron chicken noodle soup and a simple green salad. The simple green salad was a huge pile of nice greens tossed in oil and salt with a few blistered tomatoes on the side. Uninspiring but at least the greens were fresh. Would have appreciated stems trimmed off. The soup could have been so much better - there were 3 main problems. 1) Clear soup served in a flat wide bowl is difficult to eat. No sipping the last of the broth. 2) The noodles were significantly undercooked (not al dente. Undercooked with hard centers). 3) Wasn't served hot. Soup should be steaming when it comes to the table. It was warm. After a few minutes it was difficult to call it warm. The saffron flavor was there. The veggies were fully cooked. They messed up the easy stuff. Dessert probably saved this place from a 2* review. Wasn't the best ever but I liked the two my family of 3 shared. Tiramisu - I'd say it was not typical and more like a light fluffy tiramisu cake with no chocolate flavor at all. The dark chocolate mousse with fresh whip and mango puree... not big on fruit intruding on our chocolate desserts, we initially were avoiding the mango on the plate. When we first tasted the mousse, we thought the chocolate bordered on having a spicy flavor. It was really strange. The trick was you absolutely had to get some mango puree (and fresh whip of course) in the spoonful for sweetness. It grew on us as we ate it and were sad when the plate was empty. Others in my party enjoyed their pork belly/short rib. Those dishes just aren't my taste. Even though the menu changes please make having a chicken option standard as well as a more boring fish (salmon or a light white fish) or perhaps shrimp. Hope to come back to a menu with some lean protein options, sit in a different room, and rate this better one day.

Yelp
My initial walk in of the restaurant was pleasant as our server had some pazzas and immediately got us water and a feel for the place. He had me try two wines before finding the one I liked. The food is what I want to get to however, I got the short ribs which were slightly under salted and a touch dry but over all good. It was pared with a cornmeal, vegetables and a vinaigrette. All together it was a nice meal though for the price of $38 is a bit excessive. I'd pay $24. The mac and cheese was good but basic. This was somewhat to be expected given the description of it. The service overall was good and the vibe of the place was neat. It gave old fashion French bistro. Overall great place if your willing to spend a little more

Yelp
Went for Afternoon Tea with my girl friends. They were able to accommodate my being vegetarian on a last minute's notice (they can also accommodate gluten-free and other dietary limitations but you have to let them know in advance). The food was great and we were offered more sandwiches (didn't take them up on it because there was plenty of food for us). There was also a scone course and a dessert course. Everything was neatly presented, and the setting, in a historic home, is perfect for afternoon tea to start with. It's very cozy. Our waitress was very attentive. Street parking in downtown Phoenix can be tricky. Just something to remember before you go! We were a party of 5 and realized as we were paying that they had defaulted a 20% service charge to our bill. Not a big deal, but again, sometime to know. Also, you have to pay $10 per attendee when you make a reservation, which they say will go towards your bill, but they actually refund that amount at the end of your tea session, and then charge the full bill. It all comes down to the same, but it may be helpful to know. Finally, afternoon tea is only served on Saturdays, 11am - 2pm.
google avatar

Janice L.

Yelp
Came here for Saturday Afternoon Tea. I love that it's one set price per person and unlimited food from tea sandwiches to scones to desserts. We were allowed to take some of the desserts home too as we couldn't eat it all. I loved the tea selection. Amazing service. The decor is so cute inside and so welcoming. Looking forward to coming back for dinner!

Yelp
Quaint location at this house converted to a restaurant. If you can make it for happy hour they have a good variety of drinks and appetizers.

Jimmy P.

Yelp
They offer a consistently pleasant experience. The interior is clean, the food is great, and the staff are wonderful. In my opinion, it is fairly priced.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my moms birthday for tea service Service: Angie was really sweet and accommodating to all our requests. She went out of her way to get us to go cups and help with menu questions Food: the tea sandwiches were unfortunately not great however the scones and pastries were really good! Drinks: the rose tea was amazing, I even took what I had left home so I wouldn't waste it! The lemonade was also really tasty Ambiance: super cute and cozy historic house, very typical of downtown and was great for pictures! Parking: downtown paid parking I liked it but probably wouldn't come back for tea service because the sandwiches are normally my favorite part however I would come back for lunch/dinner

Susan V.

Yelp
Tried Farish House since someone recommended it to us. I appreciate that the dining is in a historic home, but it was super packed, so it made it a bit overwhelming, we were seated next to a huge family and it was super loud. We also came to find that we don't like the duck fingerling things....My partner ordered an espresso martini and it didn't taste right, almost like they added tequila in it...it was not yummy. We went a couple years ago (late update oops)
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday celebration. The order: Braised short ribs & Lobster Risotto & Brussels sprouts. My wife ordered the Short ribs, which was also the most popular amongst our party. Comparing it to my dish, the lobster risotto, I constantly felt like the lobster protein was under portioned as there's only the equivalent of a claw cut up and mixed in. The lobster dish lacked a bit of flavor & depth as it's fairly plain. The good: -Friendly wait staff and fairly attentive my needs -Location allows for free parking in the back, but it's very limited so you'll probably need to find street parking. -Large party reservations accepted The bad: -Dessert our party shared was okay, but was well short of spectacular. It's a shame that they wouldn't let us bring a birthday cake in to celebrate the occasion. -Food is fairly pricey for what it was.

Yelp
Make a reservation! We had dinner here and I loved the atmosphere. It's a cute house and the dishes don't match. There is always something to look at on the wall. Try the cocktails and if you can't choose, ask for a recommendation. Everyone was so nice and attentive. I loved the potatoes and risotto. The one thing that didn't stand out to me was the ratatouille.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's Day. The restaurant is in a converted house that has a cozy romantic vibe. We started with the dates, which were really good. My boyfriend had the short ribs and they were delicious. The cassoulet was a bit dry but still flavorful. The drinks were great and they have an extensive wine selection. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Love the vibe of the home and how you can sit in different areas of the house. Great ambience food and drinks. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Super charming spot in downtown Phoenix. We came with a reservation (recommend for weekend dinners) and every table is a great table! Cute bar to sit at, lots of eclectic decor and super friendly service. We got a veggie entree (panzanella salad, some eggplant, other delicious ingredients) and the burrata to start. We LOVED the whiskey cocktail with blueberry and mint . Can't wait to head back here!

Yelp
Great customer service. Phenomenal food and quaint ambiance. Loved the braised short rib. Melt in your mouth. The peach cobbler was to die for. Flaky and hard but soft and chewy to the bite. How they managed that is impressive.
google avatar

Jenne A.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in a quaint 1900s home. Great service and delicious food. So impressed with the dates appetizer, ratatouille, duck, and braised short ribs. Delightful selection of cocktails with a nod to the early 1900s. Didn't love the chocolate mousse, which I eagerly anticipated. It was too spicy. Bummer. I liked the ricotta cake, but it wasn't quite what we expected based on the description. Even though we weren't impressed with the dessert, we were impressed with everything else. Lots of gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options. All clearly marked. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I have to update my review to tell the community (or maybe I should keep the secret to myself) that Farish is so good for more than special meals. Yes, the dinner menu is awesome, but they have an amazing happy hour and one of THE best cocktail menus in the city. I love to go in with a friend or two and grab a spot at the bar. The bartenders tend to be fun, and the service is top notch always. They even pour decent mocktails for when that's your thing. I do not say this lightly. Good mocktails are not the common. And my favorite thing? Saturday afternoon tea! The whole vibe is relaxed but classy, and the food is incredible. You can even order ahead for veg and gluten free options. Their sandwiches are to die for. And a bottomless coupe of sparkling for $15? I can't say enough awesome things about this place. I also really love how it maintains its old school charm in between the towering skyscrapers. Never change, Farish.

Yelp
I looked for a restaurant in Downtown Phoenix to take my wife out for our 56th Anniversary. We were so pleased and overwhelmed by the experience. The food was just unbelievable...I had the Filet steak...IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE...tender and mouth-watering. My wife had the fish, and the young lady who waited on us was SPOT ON!! The ambiance was just GREAT! I will be going back. I recommend this establishment for a night out with your significant other. Great Memories. And that is hard to come by in this day and age. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This is a classy, gorgeous place for a more upscale meal. Whether you're sitting inside or outside, the ambiance of the converted home is lovely. The service and the food match the look. The menu seems French or otherwise European inspired. I like that they have gluten free and vegetarian options, and I've never ordered anything that disappointed me. Asking the staff for recommendations is definitely the move. They also have a nice selection of wine and cocktails. The basil gimlet and whiskey smash are both fantastic. I've come here for dinner a couple times now, but I think coming just for drinks and appetizers would also be a great date night.

Yelp
Love this place!! Came for anniversary dinner, very cute homey inside. Had the bread as a starter with papkria, rosemary, honey butter and was amazing! Le Mac was great - got the small size and definitely was a personal serving. I got the filet and it was awesome! Not usually a kale person but it was delicious. My boyfriend had the Chianti short rib - also amazing! Would definitely recommend . Alaina (hope I spelled it right) was our server and she was awesome , very attentive and brought everything quick! Thank you!!

Yelp
The prices aren't cheap but they're generally reasonable and the food is so worth it! The wait staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, the history of the restaurant, and the head chef. Note that like many nicer places the portions aren't huge so we left still feeling hungry. Despite that, I still highly recommend for the quality of the food and the ambiance (cozy, intimate, often with live music)! Overall, great place for a date night and excited to come back and try their Saturday afternoon tea for a girl's day!

Yelp
This restaurant is in a beautiful old house. The tables are small and there are several different rooms you might be seated in. I had a terrific piece of fish with lentils. It is pricy but absolutely delicious.

Yelp
We enjoyed a good meal at Farish House. Reservations were easy and we found parking super close to the restaurant, which is usually a feat on a Saturday night. Service was 10/10. From the hostess to the bartenders, to our server and the manager who changed the propane tank on the outdoor heater-- all were super accommodating and kind. Food was decent. We loved our appetizers (cheese plate, duck onion soup, and fingerling potatoes). We were really looking forward to our entrees, which is what ultimately fell flat for us. The short rib and osso buco were both under seasoned. Each dish was cooked well, we just felt it was missing a level of flavor we were expecting. Ambiance was great. Cute spot that was both cozy and charming. Loved the historic element and nod to the early Phoenix settlers.

Yelp
We had a nice meal in this beautiful location, the atmosphere of the old house is amazing, though in January it was a bit chilly as I think the windows are original so expect it to be a bit drafty. Our server was very pleasant. We started with a Cajun style shrimp appetizer which had a nice flavor though too much mayonnaise sauce for my taste. It was served cold which is a bit unusual and as such tasted a bit strong as if the shrimp may have been cooked the day before (?). My main dish was the short rib which was very good, fell apart with a fork and had a nice red wine sauce and winter vegetables to go with the rich potato mash underneath. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion meal.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! I love the quaint atmosphere, authentic French cuisine and amazing service. I always start with chicken liver pate' and a glass of Champagne. I can almost make a meal of just that. Enjoy!

Yelp
Superior food and service. Great find in downtown Phoenix. Ask about the history of the house, makes stunning there that much more special.

Yelp
I went here for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. The restaurant was cute and cozy and they conveniently offer parking in the lot behind the restaurant (there's also plenty of street parking nearby). Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious! The Short Ribs were really good, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. I also had the Duck Fat Fingerlings which had a generous portion size and came with delicious Moroccan spiced aioli. For dessert, I had the Italian Ricotta Cake which was just okay. The service was good! We were checked on frequently and our food arrived promptly even though we had a big group. We brought a birthday cake, and while they kindly stored it in their fridge, they don't serve or allow people to eat outside cakes on the premises.

Yelp
I have wanted to try this play for a while and that time came last night. My husband and so meet another couple who had been there before. We arrived we followed the host who seated us and asked for our drinks. This is when things got confusing. We never had the same waiter and this really slowed service. From the time we ordered our starters to the time it took to order our entrees was over 40 minutes. The food was good, I wouldn't say over the top. We ordered our desserts which took another 20 minutes to arrive (remember we never got the same waiter) I had the tiramisu which is what they are known for. I have had better, it was served in a martini class (that is how small it was) yet the apple dessert was huge. The house is cold make sure you bring a sweater with you. I'd like to try their Saturday Tea service.

Yelp
Everything here was fantastic. The food was great- especially the pickled goat salad. I barely made happy hour, but the complimentary truffle popcorn was a great touch. My friends told me the salmon, filet, and charteuterie board were all great too (for those of you who eat meat.) Service was quick and friendly. We loved eating in what appeared to be the parlor of an old home. It was very homey, welcoming, and comfortable. The only suggestion I have is to update the cocktail menu to include novel, craft cocktails instead of only including classic cocktails.

Yelp
My dad and I go out to dinner often and have tried a plethora of amazing places but this place truly takes the cake. It is unbelievably beautiful, intimate, and not only does the place have so much character but the food and service was spectacular! The Duck and Ratatouille was so delicious! The tea cups are so gorgeous and i asked the servers if they tailor the cups they choose to the vibe of the customer and it turns out.. they do! Everybody who worked there was so amazingly kind and helpful and made the experience so memorable. Truly the coolest and my new favorite spot in Arizona.

Yelp
Lovely place, with charming patio and friendly wait staff. Food is good but I may have made a mistake in selection. The lentils were savory but not all that interesting. The scallops were good but small and few and the risotto turned out a bit crunchy. Should have gone with the Mac and cheese, and the special beef bourguignon. I do agree this is a good value.

Yelp
Garish house provides a well rounded experience that is rare to find during dining out experiences. The food, the service, the unique ambiance of the restaurant all combine for a great experience. Highly recommend for a date night or an evening with friends before going out to nearby bars.

Yelp
I had a fantastic dinner here with the BEST service!! I came early for my dinner reservations and made it in time for happy hour! I started off with the whiskey smash which was fantastic!! It was the perfect balance of liquor to blackberry. I ordered a few appetizers from the happy hour menu-the brandied chicken liver pate and the roasted duck fat fingerling potatoes. The potatoes were ok to me, but I did enjoy the pate. It was topped with cherry preserves and pickled red onion, which I wasn't sure how it would work out but the sweetness of the cherries and pickled onions actually balanced each other well. I also love that you're given an entire baguette. For my entree, I got the duck which was cooked perfectly!!! The plum lavender sauce went so well with the duck! The outside was crispy and so good. For dessert, I got the chocolate torte and it was the perfect amount. Great way to end the meal! Shoutout to my waiter, William, who was so attentive and friendly!

Yelp
If you have food allergies, I highly recommend this restaurant. They were able to accommodate my gluten/dairy allergies without any trouble. The food was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. My husband and I shared the carrot dish, lentils, ratatouille, potatoes and braised short ribs. We unexpectedly came during happy hour so that was an extra bonus to our already great experience. The historic location and ambiance is lovely. We sat on the patio and had wonderful and friendly wait staff. It's a small thing, but I really appreciated their non plastic/styrofoam to go boxes. I will for sure come back since my diet can be accommodated and the experience was excellent. I'm also recommending to family and friends. What a great find!

Yelp
My wife and I learned about The Farish House and thought we'd give it a try. It was way beyond our expectations. Everything about the experience was terrific. The food, the service, the ambiance and the drinks were top shelf. We make it a habit to try new places and have been to well over one hundred restaurants in the Phoenix area. Only a select few make it into our "we will return" rotation. The Farish House is now among them. Oh yeah, the Caesar salad was easily one of the best we have ever had.
