The Best Seafood in Nashville, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"Steak and seafood often go hand-in-hand, and River House does both perfectly in a setting so ritzy it carries a dress code. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of the city while diners sip a craft cocktail or a perfectly paired glass of wine, all while enjoying dishes like panko-crusted sea bass, lobster tails, pan-sauteed halibut, or Chilean sea bass. Be sure to save room for dessert — the menu here includes warm chocolate chip skillet cookies, carrot cake, bread pudding, and more." - Kellie Walton

Where Nashville Food Writers Loved to Eat in 2018 - Eater Nashville

"Kristin Luna, freelance travel/food writer and founder of travel blog Camels & Chocolate: I found myself going back to more “oldies” — or, in Nashville terms, restaurants that have been opened a handful of years—in 2018 than ever, places like Farm House, Lockeland Table, Rolf & Daughters and Butcher & Bee that never disappoint, simply because I find it too overwhelming to choose from all the new restaurants that have cropped up this year." - Delia Jo Ramsey

This out of the way restaurant is a HIDDEN GEM and a MUST in Nashville!!! The bar has incredible bourbon options at incredible prices 🥃. The cornbread and deviled eggs come highly recommended by the owner Trey (who we were fortunate enough to meet)! A grand slam with those selections… absolutely amazing 🤩🤩🤩😍. Dinner was incredible. Our group had the Bison burger and Hot Chicken. Incredible flavors!!! The hot cookie platter knocked it out of the park! Absolutely amazing and and excellent finish to an awesome evening! A MUST in Nashville 🤩

Google
Spinach dip was piping hot and incredibly creamy and flavorful. Our waitress I couldn’t ask for anyone better. The rigatoni was packed with incredible layers of flavors. Sirloin cooked to perfection. With sure summer beans rendered in bacon. Something to be had.

We loved everything. Going here was an accident to be honest. When scheduling some items for our trip to Nashville we decided to look for Michelin star restaurants. My girlfriend fond two restaurant menus that looked good. Somehow this was in the mix. I pick this because of the fact they are as farm to table as they can be. The service was incredible, the food was very good. However, my girlfriends broccoli was charred black on one side. And we are used to the brussel sprouts being crisper with oil , they seamed to have boiled or something as there was no browning or crispy to be found, they did however taste good. The cocktails were great. Thanks guys for a good meal and great service.

Google
My husband and I had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner here. We started with the Buffalo Dip, which was absolutely delicious. For our entrées, he chose the bone-in pork chop, while I enjoyed the pork tenderloin special—both were so flavorful we couldn’t stop eating! The atmosphere was intimate yet relaxed, with a charming rustic touch. The service was impeccable, with kind and attentive staff who made our experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
"Southern style" ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was chicken strips that might as well been shaped like dinosaurs. Menu on here is outdated apparently, cause we had 6 brunch items to choose from. Was told they only served brunch. If you are in Nashville please don't make the same mistake we did. Get some adult food. Staff wasn't bad, yes it's not their fault the owners are out of touch with what food they should have on their menu.

Google
Easily one of the best brunches I’ve ever had — and the perfect Mother’s Day spot. We came in for a Mother’s Day brunch today and left completely blown away. I don’t say this lightly — everything we ordered was incredible. The steak and eggs were spot-on (steak cooked perfectly, eggs soft and rich), and that chimichurri? Easily the best I’ve had in years — bright, garlicky, just the right heat. But the real sleeper hits? The pimento cheese beignets (warm, crispy, cheesy heaven) and the cinnamon rolls — soft, gooey, and baked with love. The vibe was relaxed but special. You could tell every detail, from the food to the service, was handled with care. No over-the-top fuss, just really damn good food made by people who know what they’re doing. If you’re ever in Nashville and want a meal that makes you slow down and savor every bite — come here. The Farm House made our day, and it’s officially on my “must return” list. Thank you for the heart you put into your food.

Google
Fantastic food my wife and I split the Bison Burger and it was so delicious. But for me the star of the show was the appetizers we got Pig ears (yes real pig ears) they are amazing. The spinach dip was also very good. They have a good selection of bourbon. And the atmosphere is very pleasant. Our Server Trenton was phenomenal if you want fantastic service ask for Trenton’s section. Overall we will be back in Nashville and this will be our first stop every time

Google
Great establishment through and through. Food was excellent (especially deviled eggs and bison burger), happy hour (4-6PM) has unbeatable prices on food & drinks both, and the service was outstanding from Trent (&Diego at the bar). We got there right at 4:00 when they open and by the time we left at 5:30 there were people lined up out the door. Good location just down from Broadway, great chill atmosphere. Will probably be back

Yelp
This place is great! Highly recommend it. We were starving and stopped here for breakfast. I got the huevos rancheros. My boyfriend got the BLT with fries. Both were plenty of food. Tasted excellent, beautiful plating. Coffee & service was great! Would come back again and try other things. We saw someone else get the cinnamon roll. It looked big enough for 4 people! . But looked delicious!

Yelp
Unbelievably poor service!!! We were told that we needed to wait 25 min for the dishes, which we were fine, but ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes. When the dishes came out, it was cold. They promised us that by the time the dish came out it will be hot and warm. So I asked them to remake it. They were just putting it into other to heat it up. I said the chicken was already dry. If you put it into oven further it's only gonna be dryer. I need you to make a new one and they said it's gonna be another 25 minutes and there's nothing we can do about it And then blame us 45 minutes sooner the reservation time. Honestly, this is unbelievable when we want to argue further the chef said you know what I will just take this off the bill and refused to even serve food. I had never met any restaurants like this unbelievably unprofessional. Worst experience ever!!!!

Yelp
Excellent food, mostly homestyle cuisine but with higher end touches. High quality ingredients. Great staff which will impress you with their personable and enthusiastic service. We enjoyed our visit here for dinner so much that we returned for brunch a couple days later. Highly recommended. P.S. Their cinnamon roll is fabulous... and there's a reason its price is higher than you'd expect: it will easily feed four. One person eating this? It is an entire meal. You really must prepare to share it, because their food is so good that you should try many of the choices.

Yelp
We originally had a reservation but ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender/manager was amazing. Very attentive and made good drinks. It was very busy for Saturday brunch so get reservations!

Yelp
Stopped in The Farmhouse on a whim and I am so happy we did. We were met with so many friendly faces that were personable and prompt. We stopped in in between brunch and dinner, so options were limited to bar foods. We got almost all and boy were they fantastic. Each dish had their own creative combo of ingredients that made for the best flavor. The pig ears, yes I know, are a MUST try. They are not pretty, but OMG AMAZING!! Second best, beignets. Do it!! The inside is very quaint, but loved that they only serve US products. Gotta love the American support. What a great option just of Broadway!

Yelp
We made reservations for Sunday brunch on 10/13/24. Our table was ready when we arrived, and we were seated immediately. Marla, our server, went above and beyond. She was kind, helpful, and despite the restaurant being busy, she did a great job and ensured we had a wonderful experience. The Pimento Cheese Beignets were AMAZING and the cinnamon roll was HUGE. We'd also recommend the breakfast burrito. A wonderful experience overall and it's largely because of our incredible server, Marla. Thank you, Marla!

Yelp
Great concept ... they use local food sources. Ingredients tell that story well. Had the pork chops with scrambled eggs. Gravy over the chops was divine. BLT was also very good and the waffles were great just the way they were. Deviled eggs ... meh ... little eggy - perhaps not enough Dijon, vinegar or salt but was missing something. Doesn't mean I would come back here - food was excellent and well prepared.

Yelp
I was excited by this place because of the reviews and how rarely they serve brunch. We got chicken and waffles, cinnamon bun, beignets, biscuits and gravy, and coffee. The beignets were the best of the bunch, but the rest didn't really meet my expectations. The menu was cool and exciting but just not top notch, especially for southern cuisine. It just doesn't compare to say a Charleston restaurant. They were super busy and we had bad luck having the bartender as our server. He was busy making drinks and left us hanging for a while. Ambiance was cool.

Yelp
A large group had a wonderful meal here with outstanding service. The entrée was fixed as the 16oz Chargrilled Ribeye aged 28 days from Southern Natural Farms in Athens, TN. We chose the temperature and all of them seemed to come out perfect. The sides (done family style) were a whole grain mustard potato salad, spring succotash, broccolini, and quinoa salad. Service for the group was humble, informative, and outstanding. Everything came together well, and it was probably one of the most healthy meals we had during our stay in Nashville where it is quite easy to be off the rails for your entire stay in town.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! And the service is always friendly and great! I love coming here every chance I get when I come through Nashville.

Robin B.

Yelp
Stopped in for Happy Hour on a Saturday @ 3pm due to the elevated bar menu for HH, and the fact they are open all day! Most places don't open until 4-5pm. We were so happy we stopped!! Had a great bartender, Trent, who shared hilarious stories. And the snacks were amazing, not to mention cheap! The Crispy Pigs Ears, which my husband deemed Hillbilly Calamari, is not to be missed! The Pimento Cheese Beignets are deliciously spicy, but the perfect compliment to the Sweetness of the Pig Ears. The smoked wings have a delicious dry rub. Will return on our next trip thru Nash!

Yelp
Explore this undiscovered treasure in Nashville--a must-visit for a fantastic evening. Savor first-rate, timely service, and a food that will wow you. Bring a big appetite, and you'll leave feeling full--and don't forget to check out the amazing drink menu!

Yelp
The peanut butter pie will make you smack your Maw Maw. If your Maw Maw is like mine, she will dodge that hit and come 'round with a haymaker that will lay you out flat. All of which is to say that the food is good. As are the cocktails.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for happy hour before show at Ryman for bites and drinks. Specials for happy hour were awesome .... Had smoked then fried wings & fish tacos while imbibing incredible Old Fashions. Bartender (Trey) was an incredible person and server and we would be regulars if we lived local. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Yelp
I loved this place for brunch! I came with a party of three on a weekday in January, so there was absolutely no wait. It was pretty empty! Our server was great and kept checking in with us to see if we needed anything. I also thought the decor was very cute and on theme. Something I love is that the portions are BIG. They also have delicious potato wedges served in a cast iron skillet. Those were cooked so nicely. I ordered the breakfast burrito and I could only finish 1.5 because it was so filling! My friend could only eat 1 out of 2 biscuits in her biscuits and gravy dish because it was so filling as well. Don't get me started on the cinnamon roll either! It's so so tasty but a huge portion (would be great to split with 3-4 people). One thing I didn't love (but I won't fault the restaurant on) is the pimento cheese beignets. I think it must have been my personal aversion to the pimento cheese (my taste buds must just not like it), but when I ate it, I got a strong alcohol taste. And by strong, I mean like Everclear. So weird.

Yelp
Not really vegetarian friendly, but otherwise great! I found The Farm House with a search for "vegetarian friendly" and booked it without looking too closely at the menu (oops....) The only main dish that was vegatarian was a pasta with the meat removed, and there were lots of dishes that had meat garnishes (e.g. peas with ham). So that was a bit disapointing, but is certainly NOT the fault of the restaurant, but rather an inaccurate listing. If you weren't vegetarian, the restaurant was great! Super-friendly service, interesting food, great drinks!

Yelp
We stopped in for happy hour at the bar which is offered 2-6 on Saturday and 4-6 during the week. It was pretty quiet at 2pm on a Saturday and had the whole bar to ourselves. The bartender was friendly and funny, offered us food suggestions as we sat down to browse the menu. We had the crispy pig ears which were addictive! Sounds a bit weird but give it a try, you won't regret it! The burger from the bar menu was simple but well seasoned with delicious potato wedges that were crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. We also enjoyed the pimento cheese beignets. Cocktails were $5 and beers buy one get one during happy hour. It was not too far off Broadway and definitely worth a stop in especially for happy hour!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and great service. They have happy hour at the bar but we ate in the dining room which is in an open area adjacent to the bar. The house wine was about half from dining menu so that was a shame. My daughter got the Mac and cheese (pictured) which was very very good. She also got the pig ears which were vut into straps and looked sort of like bacon. It was a generous portion so best to get to share even 3 people. It was unique and delicious! I got the trout and really enjoyed it. Would go back!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I got the scallops with pumpkin risotto. The scallops were cooked perfectly and were super tender. The risotto was good but too heavy to finish. We also got some appetizers and cookies to share.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
Delicious farm to table concept. Waitstaff was helpful with suggestions and food was excellent. Definitely would go back if in Nashville again.
google avatar

Yelp
Best food in Nashville. Came here for a weekend brunch and enjoyed everything about the meal. If I would have been in town longer, I would have come back again. Cute restaurant, friendly staff, and a great meal.

Alison L.

Yelp
From out of state, came to celebrate a friends birthday and Tayla and Trent were absolutely fantastic!! We felt so connected and welcomed from the second we walked in!! Trent made us a shot that was to die for and tayla was just so awesome!! Not to even mention the food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails were top tier!!

Yelp
Brunchhhhh on T-Swift weekend. This place was packed! My steak and eggs was really good. Our server was really nice and they were accommodating for my gluten free mom. The restaurant had big open windows that was nice for the lighting but inside wasn't anything special compared to some of the other places. This place was a bit pricey for the menu items but also it's a hot city and inflation, yada-yada. This will hit the spot if you're looking for a straight forward brunch!
google avatar

Yelp
Great meal ! The Farm House just changed to their fall 2022 menu and it was great. We made the reservation through OpenTable, which made it easy. What we ordered: - I got the scallops and pumpkin risotto, and it was both gluten-free and fantastic - my wife got the trout with brussels sprouts, and it was also fantastic Our kids got a burger, but they raved over it like it was the best burger they ever ate We also had someone get a simple pasta, and they liked that too We also got a deviled egg appetizer, which was good and the perfect way to start the meal. There really were not in a weak areas in the mail. Although, we did get a cornbread appetizer and the spiced pumpkin butter that came with it was probably not something we would get again, but the cornbread itself was served hot and was very good. In summary, we really liked this place.

Yelp
This was my second visit to The Farm House. The first time was pre-Covid and over lunch with a group of coworkers. The lunch was excellent. Recently I had dinner there with another group of coworkers. My dinner experience was not the same as my lunch experience. FIrst off -- we had a great server. I did not get her name but she was excellent and we kept her busy. I will definitely say that The Farm House service definitely was not lacking. The food was hit or miss. We ordered all of the apps except for the fish tacos. The apps were definitely a hit. The chicken wings were so good--smoky flavor, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spinach dip was creamy, well-seasoned and delicious. My favorite was the cornbread. I loved that it was not sweet and it was not dry either. The butter on the side could go on anything! The entrees - this is where we got a few misses. I ordered the trout. The fish was good and I loved the Brussels Sprouts. For me, the creme fraiche on the plate was too sour and detracted from the dish. My food was also room temperature when it came to me. My friend ordered the scallops and was very disappointed, especially at $40 for four scallops. The scallops were too salty and the Roasted Pumpkin Risotto was awful--like cool soup. It wasn't even room temperature. We asked for the risotto to be reheated. It came back but even reheating it did not do anything to save the fact that it was bland (no trace of salt, brown butter or sage flavors), mushy, watery and if there was any roasted pumpkin in it, we didn't see it. We also did not see a trace of a single pumpkin seed. Side dishes - we ordered all of the sides except the collard greens. The roasted mac and cheese again had a sour aftertaste. Not sure if it was creme fraiche or sour cream that was added to the mac and cheese, but the aftertaste was not a pleasant one. The gouda grits were tasty but again, came to us room temperature. The roasted red potatoes, fries and brussels sprouts were fine but again, not served at the right temperature. I gave the restaurant four stars primarily because of the service. I would definitely try dinner again, as we all have an off night.

Joye B.

Yelp
We went to Etch last evening which was delish but Farm House was earn better in terms of their ribeye! Grilled to perfection with fat butter which was devine! Tayla was amazing and her buddy the bartender was just as exception! The berry drink was to die for! We will be back!
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
We stopped into Farm House before a concert at Bridgestone, and it was pretty good! We were greeted and sat right away. Our waiter,Cody, was so friendly and attentive. First we ordered the cornbread. It took about 15 minutes to good but it was delicious and filling. So filling we choose to spilt the burger and two additional sides. The burger was good, but nothing really stood out. You could tell it was quality, and the homemade ketchup complimented it well. Our favorites were actually the sides. We got roasted broccoli and macaroni and cheese. The broccoli was charred beautifully and was tender but crisp. The macaroni and cheese was the best we have had in a restaurant in Nashville! 10/10 would recommend! I do believe their menu changes on the season, so we would go back to try some new items.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Farm house is an all organic restaurant with good veggie options! Have to caveat that I have been craving veggies (i must admit this as it is to only balance out all of the fried chicken I have been consuming !) Will return just for the charred broccoli! Wow incredible! If you are craving for good veggies such as broccoli, asparagus and mushrooms, I know these are "side" dishes but this place is it! Come here for solid veggie side options!
google avatar

christine s.

Yelp
The Farm House was okay, but it was a let down after our breakfast at Husk. The service was friendly and the space inside was nice, but nothing about it warranted a return visit. Probably due to its central location we got to experience the hungover bachelorettes getting their hair-of-the-dogs, but thankfully they weren't too loud. The pimento in the beignets had a nice warmth to it, but they sit like lead in the stomach. My husband's chicken and waffles was totally underwhelming and my avocado toast was ice cold guacamole spread on a piece of white sandwich bread. Meh.
google avatar

L. P.

Yelp
Don't let the limited menu choices fool you---- this will be one of the Best Meals you will have in Nashville! Do not overthink it, just go & enjoy the tasty, fresh and perfectly prepared food... the staff are all very proud to serve & share their craft meals with you. If you like mac&cheese, this is a MUST and it was easily the best we've ever eaten (my husband makes it from scratch & he was envious). It went beautifully with the flank steak & summer beans, which were both amazing in their own right. Very clean, very quaint farmhouse feel & the staff made us feel like family. Do yourself a favor and support this fantastic business.
google avatar

Terie N.

Yelp
Our server Atong was delightful. The food was alright, nothing exciting. It's great to try new restaurants.

Regina E W.

Yelp
I am a big farm to table fan, and the reason I went to this restaurant was to experience that. The veggies I had were mushy and my trout didn't taste fresh. My husband immediately notice the service was not the best and we were terribly disappointed. We will not be returning.

Jasmine P.

Yelp
Service: the hostess and our waiter were great. He gave us updates on the food and was very nice. Food: the pork hop was soft and savory. The rice, beans, and collard greens were good. The mac n cheese was delicious and I'd come back another time for it! I didn't like the brussel sprouts unfortunately it tasted a bit too lemony. I couldn't stop eating the cornbread with the butter, the special butter that came with definitely gave it more taste. I liked that the restaurant had a quiet feel. I could hear my dining partner perfectly and we had a great time!
google avatar

Carrie A.

Yelp
This is a great place for diverse eaters. As a vegetarian, I had a great selection of things to eat. My black bean burger was outstanding and my husband and I split a salad that was delicious. My husband enjoyed his hamburger and beer.
google avatar

Dana D.

Yelp
This place was so great. A little unexpected that it was really good. First let me say the have valet so don't worry about parking. Our server was so knowledgeable about the dishes and places in the area. Okay let's get to the food- for the table we had the pimento cheese beignets, pig ears and deviled eggs. The beignets were so fluffy and cooked to perfection. The pig ears were crispy and sweet the mustard sauce pulls it all together. Most of us had the scallops the risotto was to die for. One person had the rib-eye and cleaned their plate. Everything was good quality it is a restaurant I'd repeat to try other menu items.

Devon E.

Yelp
Excellent service, nice ambiance. Old-fashioned could've used a touch of sweetness, but great wine selection. Pork belly was amazing, but potato cakes were undercooked. Got the bone-in pork chop which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The corn succotash it was served over was incredible as well, with slightly caramelized peaches as a garnish. Great dish. Got the strawberry shortcake for dessert but it was way too sweet. All told, it was a memorable experience! We will be back!
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
This was such a cute place downtown and it was SO DELICIOUS! Our waitress was so sweet
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
An adequate meal. We ate at The Farm House because someone that we met at a different Nashville restaurant recommended it highly. Perhaps we caught the restaurant on an off night. Nothing stood out or made us want to return. The service was attentive.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Ordered a Bloody Mary, it tasted watered down with very little flavor. Had the huevos rancheros and chicken and waffles. Waffles came with no butter and only the syrup on the plate, nothing extra. Chicken strips looked and tasted like they were Tyson's frozen chicken strips. Definitely not worth $60.
google avatar

Marlene S.

Yelp
Came to Nashville for work and was staying across the street from here. The place was not very busy but I had reservations anyway. Service was good but I wasn't wowed by the food. We shared the spinach dip and both had the buttermilk chicken. It was tasty but nothing to call home about.
google avatar

Jose P.

Yelp
While in Nashville we found this little gem. We loved it so much we came here for dinner on two consecutive nights. The staff was super friendly and even the chef came by and spoke with us. The waiter was very helpful in walking us through the gluten-free options and we had a great time. The deviled eggs were just amazing. The shrimp and grits was great. The half chicken was fantastic. In other words, you can't go wrong here. Everything is local and clean (no hormones, antibiotics or other nasty stuff in the meats). Definitely put this on your list when in Memphis.
google avatar

Anthony F.

Yelp
Excellent service and meal! Very impressed with the cajun pasta and the bread was fabulous! Did not like however the bread pudding! Country boy what can I say? Was raised on poor man's pudding from a pup up! Loved everything else about this place!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
I love that you can get reservations for brunch which is a rarity in Nashville. The cinnamon roll was incredible and its huge! We shared it with 4 people and there was still plenty for each person. I had the eggs benedict which was tasty!
google avatar

Adrian C.

Yelp
We went there because it's organic restaurant in Yelp. Ingredients may ok, yet the cooking skills are off. Won't come back.

Mackenzie T.

Yelp
Awful experience! The food was absolutely disgusting. Cold pasta with burnt garlic bread how that was even sent out of the kitchen is beyond me. My friend ordered the steak and it was RAW when she ordered medium rare her broccolini was burnt and cold. We came here with a large party after a wedding we had reserved the private room. We had a minimum spend which at no point did either of the servers let us know when we asked for the bills that we hadn't met yet. IF THEY HAD we all would've ordered more drinks, more bottles of wine and dessert. Instead they charged the bride and groom an extra $700!!! They refused to let us order take out meals in place of to hand out to the homeless or even gift cards. On top of the food being horrible the service was even worse. Don't waste your time or money here! If I could give this place 0 stars I would!

Karen C.

Yelp
Went to eat before a concert . Had looked online at menu and saw some good things to eat and checked the reviews. When we got there and were seated noticed the menu had changed and were told we had seen the bar menu and we were moved to the bar. Bartended was nice and attentive. Friend and I shared hamburger and fries and wings. Typical bar food ;nothing outstanding. It was close to our hotel and convenient. Would definitely try other places before returning here.

Sue F.

Yelp
The happy hour is the best deal in town. Top shelf bourbon and the old fashion was amazing. Our dinner was delicious and packed with flavor. I highly recommend this friendly, cozy, delicious restaurant just a short walk off the strip
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant. The service was great. We started with the pimiento cheese beign'ets. For mains, we ordered the trout plate, ribeye steak, and roasted chicken. I also ordered an aged old fashion. Beign'ets were good but a bit doughy for me. Otherwise the rest of the dishes were excellent, and trout and steak were phenomenal! Highly recommended and when we are Nashville again, I would return!

Adel B.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Staff was very friendly. I had the mac and cheese side (best I've had in a while), the lamb ragu (very tender; would've liked a side of bread to sop up the sauce) and the cookie board that was freshly baked.
