The Farmer's Cellar

This hidden restaurant is located in a gas station. Once you enter behind a faux- soda shelf, it is a different world. Erik, our server, was friendly and prompt. The place filled up fast. They do not take reservations, so plan accordingly. The craft cocktails are delicious and the food is good.

Waited 45 min to get in, sat and waited in gas station and paid $8 and $10 for a beer. The drinks were nothing fancy and fun ,like they seem on the web page.$15 and it came in a low ball with a huge ice cube that took up most of the glass. Even serving it in a fancier glass would have made it a little more fun. I was really hoping to like it, definitely wouldn't travel back again. Glad to have tried it once though.

Farmer’s Cellar is such a hidden gem, a great speakeasy vibe that mixes charm, mystery, and class. From the outside, you’d never expect what’s waiting inside. Once you step through, you’re greeted with a cozy, moody space filled with chandeliers, dark leather seating, and quirky details like a silver bathtub, taxidermy, and candle wax-draped candelabras that set the perfect atmosphere. The bar program here is excellent. Cocktails are crafted with care, balanced, and beautifully presented my Old Fashioned was spot-on with just the right amount of depth and smoothness. The space itself feels like a step back in time, with a mix of vintage glamour and rustic details that make it feel warm and inviting. Farmer’s Cellar is a must-visit

A truly thoughtful and well crafted dining, service, and ambiance experience. Grant and his team are top tier in knowledge, hospitality, and presentation. From well crafted and flavorful food to phenomenal cocktails that you won’t find anywhere else. This hidden, well crafted, beautiful room with so many details will be sure to keep you entertained. This is a MUST try.

Plan to get two drink min. there are so many options to choose from, Avant Gardener & Mojito are a must! What’s a Gaelic for Banana was one of the best scotch drinks I have ever had. We look frwd to trying the remaining drinks. The Detroit style pizza was delicious 👌🏼

This was such a cool place to visit! Wide variety drink menu. We had the pizza which was very good, I would personally just prefer it as a thin crust but it was Detroit style after all. My friend had the pickeled deviled eggs. We also the got the chips and dip to start which was also very good.

Really beautiful spot and super cool idea! The drinks are delicious and the food was good too. The only thing I would change would be a few more items on the food menu.

My wife, daughter, daughter-in-law & I had a great experience here! Great atmosphere & the drinks were amazing! The cocktail server was wonderful! The wife and I are from Illinois and only get to visit 2-3 times a year but I sure hope we have the opportunity to come back to visit The Farmers Cellar again!

This place is definitely a hit! It's such a cool and dark vibe/atmosphere. We got there right at 3:50 and there was a huge line within 10 minutes. All of the tables filled up within 12 minutes of getting there. The service was great! Great recommendations on drinks and food by the server. The AVANT GARDENER drink was so yummy! The charcuterie board was fresh. We shared the burger and they put it on separate plates for us which was really nice. The ambiance is so chic and fun! It gets loud in there but if you're in a booth you really only can hear your own conversation which is nice.

Key detail, I was so hungry at 8-9pm. The Detroit style pizza HIT. It was thick, spicy, sweet, and umami. It came out fairly quick after ordering. The place is cozy and has a romantic classy feel, and nice that it is not too loud or rowdy. Charcuterie board came with bread, 3 types of cheeses, 2 types of cured meats, pickles, grapes, nuts, mustard, and beets.

It's a great idea. Love the small atmosphere and entrance idea. Period appropriate decorations, friendly staff, great drink ideas and nice presentation of the drink preparation if sitting at the bar. BUT, the drinks are over priced because they use these huge ice cubes that take up all the drink space in the glass, or they use very small glasses that would be about half the size of a regular martini glass. The food was meh. Very limited items on the menu. What they should do is incorporate the food that is offered in the gas station part of the space. They have a much better variety of items. I want to like this place because it's local and I want them to succeed, but they need to make a few changes in order to do that. Having a cool 'super secret' speakeasy is a great idea and especially for the local, but I think they need to come down to reality a bit to continue to have return costumers once the 'super coolness' wears off.

My first ever speakeasy!!! I saw this on a recent Yelp list and decided to try bringing a friend here without him knowing what he was in for. I was like, "I just need to stop in to this one convenience store that has something I'm interested in" and he followed me through the door behind the inconspicuous cooler and was very pleasantly surprised. I recommend tricking a friend into coming here! When you get into the actual bar, the contrast between the vivid decor and the surrounding environment is really striking. It is very nice inside, super classy. I don't drink, which is something that tends to inhibit my opportunities for speakeasies, but they have a small food menu that has just enough items for a reasonable meal. I got the Farmers Burger which was good; I'd get it again. My friend made his "dinner" from the charcuterie board and the elote-style Brussels sprouts. The latter is a very unique creation that is definitely worth trying, it was very good. And the charcuterie board was rather good as well, especially the mustard. Best mustard I've had in a long time. It also had these cool mozzerella curd-things and awesome salami. Great bread as well. I think most people will come for the speakeasy experience and the cocktails. I got a mocktail that I liked a lot, the Local Legend, and my friend got the Tea and Thorazine which he also really liked. And the menu of cocktails is super fun! Large, very carefully designed slate of drinks. Our server was very friendly and thoughtful as well. I definitely think if this kind of experience is enticing to you, you'll at least be glad you tried it. I live in St Paul, and I don't drink, and still I'm looking forward to returning.

We wanted a southern suburb spot to celebrate our Anniversary and couldn't wait to check out Farmer's Cellar! Plenty of parking at the false front gas station, so nothing to worry about there! No reservations, and it was quite packed at 4:45pm when we arrived on a Friday night!! Enter in through the soda case, and you are welcomed into a dark and impeccably decorated speakeasy. Chandeliers, stained glass, melted candles transport you to the perfect atmosphere for a drink, snack, or dinner! Our server was super helpful and attentive during our stay! Drinks are wonderful and fun spins on the classics. I had the Tequila Leche, which was reminiscent of a Tequila/Mezcal based Old Fashioned. Perfection! My partner had the Daiquiri, which was a sweet and tart sip! Loved it! We shared a bunch of plates, which were all great!! Of note, the Pork Belly BLT sliders were our favorite: with a lovely twist of Tomato Jam and thick-cut Pork Belly instead of the traditional tomato and bacon! We also had the pizza, which was DELISH...But has a VERY bready crust to it, which we loved, but might not be enjoyed by every diner. Overall, a must-eat for all of you in the South Metro!!

Saw a cool video about this hidden spot inside of a gas station and had to check it out. This place is kind of a drive for me, I tried to make reservations but I dont think you can at this time. So just walked in, it was very busy and they put me on a list but they did have a patio where you can wait. We ended up just staying on the patio the whole time. Ordered a drink and a couple food items. Staff was very friendly and this was probably the fastest food service I've ever gotten. Seemed like 5 minutes after we ordered, the food came out. I enjoyed it and such a fun experience. Not sure how often I'd go back because of how far it is from me, but definitely worth it at least once.

A true hidden gem--literally! The Farmer's Cellar is one of the coolest speakeasy experiences I've had in a while. Tucked away behind a soda door inside a gas station this place oozes atmosphere from the moment you step inside. It's dark, vibey, and intimate--everything you want in a speakeasy. The ambiance is killer, but what really impressed me was the cocktail program. Drinks were seriously next level. The gimlet was everything. Every cocktail we tried was balanced, creative, and delicious. Huge shoutout to our bartender, Andrew, knowledgeable, and made us the perfect drinks based on what we enjoy. You can tell the staff here really cares about the craft and the experience. Oh, and don't miss the patio! It's small but charming. Highly recommend for a date night, nightcap, or impressing out-of-town friends with something totally unexpected. Cheers!

When I saw there was a new hidden speakeasy in Minnesota, I just had to check it out. It's a good hike from the northern suburbs, but definitely worth the visit! Going into an actual functioning gas station - candy, snacks, coffee machines and all - and ending up in a prohibition-type bar is so cool. The door is disguised as a pop fridge. The interior of the bar is dimly lit and old-fashioned without being too gimmicky. The drink menu is divided into sections based on how the drink is prepared with a brief description of the flavor profile, which I appreciated. For food, the Chips & Dip was amazing! I could eat a whole plate of the grilled crostini alone. I also got the Farmer's Burger. The burger was good, but the fries were probably in the top 5 fries I've ever had. Delicious! My favorite drink was the Patio Problems. I'm a sucker for anything carbonated and the way they carbonate the beverages makes it perfectly bubbly. I had a great time and enjoyed the vibes!

Awesome Speakeasy concept. I had their burger and it was...let's say just ok. One thing I wish they had was an actual whiskey selection and drinks that featured more whiskey's. It was like an hour wait just to get in, perhaps it will be easier to get in there once the hype dies down.

food was amazing. i got the 12oz ribeye. best steak i have ever had. flavor pow, doneness zam! they nailed it. large list of liquors and drinks. service was fast and accurate.

Whoa! I've been around a bit over the years and have spent my share of time in bars. From highbrow joints to buckets of blood, I've seen em all. The Farmers Cellar is one you have to see! I'm not sure the name fits the ambiance and absolute top notch drinks but I'm not in marketing so.... From the unique way you enter the place (behind a display in a convenience store!), you find a hidden speakeasy! We sat at the bar, you should too! It is a ringside seat to an absolute apothecary show! My wife and I each had two drinks, each one more unique and exciting than the one before. Watching these expert bartenders ply their craft is better than any sporting event you could put on a TV (There are no TV's here). They have a manhattan, served hot, that is to die for. The bartenders are always creating so I imagine the menu changes.

So cool but disappointing at the same time. Ambience and concept is super cool! Drinks were good but expensive. The service was very slow although once our food was ordered it came out with in about 5 minutes which made me scratch my head for a minute. Food menu was an area needing improvement. Brocket pizza was expensive and not that good. Brisket was fatty and way too much bbq sauce and hardly any cheese. Pork belly sliders were tasty but more bun than meat. All in all just left there feeling disappointed and a little ripped off. 2 drinks, sliders (Appetizer) and Brisket 9" pizza was over $100.00 with tip. Cool place to check out but we wouldn't go back.

The ambiance was wonderful. The service was good and for food we both had the farmers burger and fries. The food and drinks were good. They are a bit expensive, but it was a good experience.

This speakeasy bar has a secret door in the gas station. We pulled up to a gas station and was confused, we assumed the secret door had to be somewhere inside or the back. Luckily someone was nice to tell us the secret door is the sodas on the wall next to the taco booth. We didn't make reservations and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. We were able to have a beer and hangout in the gas station while waiting. Once we got it, it was like a whole new world. Fancy seats and chandelier. It's darker lighting that gives an intimate vibe. Craft cocktails and interesting food options. Definitely check them out if you're in the south metro.

Very cool Speakeasy with unique vibes and interesting cocktails. Service was friendly and very helpful for navigating the literal book of options. Plenty of cocktails to choose from so something that everyone will love including a nice selection of mocktails. Definitely on the pricey end, but frankly about what you would expect. Definitely worth a visit!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Such a fun and unique speakeasy in an unexpected part of the suburbs. We came here after seeing this online and finding out how close to home it was. My friend was in town visiting and we came for a Saturday night putting. We got here right around 9pm, and there was a short wait, but the crowd came after us and was hopping! You can buy beverages in the gas station while waiting and were able to bring them in with us too when we were seated. The cocktails were so unique and unexpected. We had a variety of drinks, but the avant gardener blew me away. The description made us Leary, but don't doubt the craft! It was as if we were drinking a fresh salsa, but in the best way possible. We also enjoyed the banana daiquiri and the it's French! Both were also great, without being too wild. All the cocktails were easy to drink and balanced! The real star of the show here is the service. We were seated at the bar, which was a great time being able to watch the bartenders make drinks in unusual ways. Grant, the bar manager, was behind the bar working and was SO knowledgeable and friendly. We chatted with him and he explained the process of creating the cocktails. At one point my friend was talking with him and gave some feedback about one drink (nothing bad, just thoughts on it). Grant was super receptive of the feedback and comped the drink for us. He also then gave us another cocktail on the house. Doing this for us was SO unexpected and really blew us away. I can't wait to come back and try more cocktails, and enjoy the experience again! If you want to drive out of the city and check out a unique place, it's worth the drive!

Great ambiance. Don't go here for a family meal or if your particular about your food/the menu. More of a place to go for the setting/be in a lively room and have a fun night. The burger & fries is very good though. Just not a lot of options for food. It is a speakeasy! was fun and very cute

This is a discreet "speakeasy" hidden in a gas station/ convenience store. My wife and I enjoyed our cocktails. This place is well staffed at the bar. Very friendly and confident bartenders. It is such a cool interior. Unfortunately, the drinks are overpriced.

What a great new addition to the South Metro! We pulled up to a gas station...and were worried. We.went inside and luckily someone else was walking through the soda case....sneaky sneaky. We ordered some yum drinks. My mojito drink was amazing! This will be a place that we visit again and again!

Very intriguing speakeasy with a well executed interior design / ambience. Had a 45 minute wait on a Saturday at 5:30 PM arrival. The food and drinks came out hyper fast. The drinks were quite good. I would say very enjoyable and about at expectations, which were high. I really enjoyed my cloudy Patagonia, which had a great, sweet and tropical and yet smoky note, would've loved to have a version that was not frozen. You are not going for the food, so do not have super high expectations there. The Mexican street corn brussels sprouts were really well cooked, and just a little bit short of the punchy flavor necessary to be great. The burger and fries were fine, as was the salad, as was the pork belly. Nothing superior on the food side. Great spot to take people for a fun experience for drinks.

The newest vibe of the South metro! As someone who grew up in the Lakeville area, I am so impressed with Farmer's Cellar. The ambiance and overall vibe of this speakeasy is unmatched in the area. I ordered the patio problems and pepper to squeeze; both of which were so refreshing and fabulous! My boyfriend ordered their version of the espresso martini and a mojito; both were also great! Food was hot and so tasty! Service was quick and our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable! We will be back!

Super cool vibe and welcome to Lakeville. Service was slow drinks for meh.... Food was terrible. I really hope this place takes off because it's cool to have it in Lakeville, but changes are needed for drink specials as well as limited food options.

So, it's a kinda cool novelty experience. Sadly, the food menu is severely lacking options and I'm a foodie. We ended up sharing a charcuterie board which was just ok. We then decided to go elsewhere for dinner because the menu was so lacking in good options. The ambiance was cool and the drinks were delish but unfortunately- they were very small drinks. Example- you pay $16 for a Mojito drink and it comes in a small champagne glass. That is not 'prohibition' - That is cheap. Make it make sense. We are in Lakeville and people want more value for their money.

Very cute hidden bar with the a great selection of food and drinks. Not a typical speakeasy ambiance. Louder and more lit up than any others I've visited. Not a bad thing, just different. No reservations so be prepared to wait. You can buy a drink (limited selection of canned beers and seltzers) and a snack and sit at one of the tables in the gas station or one of the outdoor spots until your party is called.
