Beautiful venue for a wedding!

Really sad that the owners would further destroy an historic George Thomas golf course to put this in. Holes 9 and 18 are completely destroyed. Not to mention many other holes on this historic course have been lost due to owner's greed. They should have built the farmhouse on the driving range and left the course alone. It really shows lack of vision and no appreciation for art to build this monstrosity. It's really sad.

Yelp
We went to Ojai Valley Inn for a spa day, or really, a spa afternoon. We were so pressed for time that we didn't have a chance to fully enjoy the facilities. If we had more time, I could have stayed at the spa all day...or for forever. The spa facilities were great. In addition to the standard hot tub, steam room and sauna, they also had an infrared sauna. The infrared sauna is small (two people max!) but it's hard to stay in there for too long so the wait isn't very long. The facilities in the changing room are also great with everything you could need to get ready post-spa. I had a relaxation spa, but my masseuse, Patricia, noticed that it had gone from a deep tissue to a relaxation massage so she wanted to know what I really wanted and was open to adapting her style. She also used aromatherapy (included with the massage) which I don't care for much but she did a wonderful job explaining what the different aromas were and how they would be used during the massage. The massage was great, particularly the head and neck massage.

Yelp
Have stayed at the Ojai Valley Inn many times, including for my mini-moon before taking off on our honeymoon. I'm absolutely astounded by the terrible service I just received from the Ojai Valley Inn. They wanted a total of approximately $1k for tonight. Normally, we pay whatever the rate is, but I explained that I came to Ojai with my dog today because we couldn't breathe due to the terrible air quality from the fires in LA, and asked that they be waive the $300 (for one night) pet fee. After she asked for my number, I was told the reservationist was transferring me to the front desk to "see what they can do"; instead, they transferred me to voicemail. I tried calling back SEVERAL times, all my calls went to vm. I had my husband call on a different line and they picked up immediately. This was neither coincidence nor accident. I can't believe they would treat a many times repeated customer in such a manner. Disgusting! No sense of hospitality or appreciation. LA, let's remember how the Ojai Valley Inn treats us when we have been through absolute hell!

Yelp
The resort is beautiful and there are a lot of things to do especially if you enjoy playing golf. It's a family friendly resort and they also allow pets. There is a place where you can rent bikes, they have activity centers for kids and 2 restaurants and a market on the premises. We visited this place for the first time recently and also bought tickets to do "breakfast with Santa" which was nice. I'm deducting 1 star because they lost one of our bags at valet. Upon checking out, we gave all of our stuff to them to hold while we ate at their restaurant. Once I got home, I realized that they didn't give us one of my plastic bags that contained 6 of our shoes. When I called back, they said they are not able to find it. Also the pool temperature was not that warm. We went to the kid pool.

Yelp
We had an amazing time at the Ojai Valley Inn! We visited for a spa day and dinner at the Oak. Highly recommend both! The pedicures were masterfully executed in an ultra relaxing environment and the our dinner was delicious! The service was exceptional across the board. One thing that we found odd at the spa was in the spa lounge waiting area bathroom. Someone absolutely annihilated it. I'm talking about a toilet bowl with more streaks than a college fraternity. Poop so caked on, you thought you might be in a crap bakery. It wreaked like absolute death. A doo-doo morgue. There was speckles of BM splatter ON the toilet seat, towards the back...indicating that someone was absolutely FIRING bombs in there and getting some significant blowback. Of course, this isn't a reflection on the staff - the bathroom was otherwise clean. It's just interesting that someone went so hard in the spa bathroom. It's a wild place to blow up! We respected it. Well done, you...whoever you are.

Yelp
The property is amazing. If you haven't been before, it's a must whenever you're in Ojai. Even for a drink or a meal. The beautiful drive to the front of the property, and then greeted by the valet. Or if you choose to self park. Everything about this property is amazing. There's loads of spots that you can lounge and just enjoy the moment. Seating throughout the property, along the course, near a fire pit and so on. Drinks and food is great wherever you choose to grab a bite. And not the miss the sunset, pink hour I believe they call it. Grab a drink and just enjoy the sunset. And they're pet friendly, which is a plus.

Acceptable food. Kind servers. Pleasant views and atmosphere. Difficult access for wheelchair.

Yelp
The Ojai Valley Inn will cost you your left nut, but it's worth it. It's a little oasis where you can breathe. Time moves slow, as it is meant to. The Good: Khaled, the concierge, is actually the GOAT. So helpful at all hours of the day. My boy fr always on the clock. Anything we needed, Khaled was there. I LOVE a great concierge. The Ojai Valley Inn is a part of the hills at this point. It's built into the mountains. It compliments nature. It reminds me of the fictional Monadnock Valley in Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead." It's a place where man and nature can coexist, with man giving meaning to nature, and nature being incomplete without man. This staff is the LeBron of turndown service. Wow. The room would be SPOTLESS, and the real highlight was my corded headphones and chargers would be wrapped up beautifully in this little Ojai Valley Inn wire holder thingy. It was unreal. Damn it's nice to be spoiled sometimes. Breakfast buffet was PHENOMENAL. I legit had 2 omelettes from the omelette guy, along with 2 other full plates. It put me in a straight food coma, but so worth it. You can buy a cocktail from Jimmy's Pub and take it anywhere on the property. It's a little oasis. A little slice of freedom. Everyone is trying to regulate everything nowadays, so this was a breath of fresh air. The Bad: The pickleball/tennis guy SUCKED. We were frustrated that we had to pay $10 to rent "court shoes" (that other peoples feet had clearly been sweating profusely in) as it was, but he became straight up combative. He legit said, and I quote, "Statistically, pickleball is the most dangerous sport in the world. I just give you facts." I thought him and my pops were gonna throw hands at one point lol. We canceled the rest of our pickleball reservations after the first one solely because of him, and this family LOVES pickleball. It was completely out of line with the rest of our experience. When we got to knowing other people at the resort, they started talking about how unprofessional he was without us even bringing it up lmao. The Conclusion: It's magical here, but y'all gotta talk some sense into homie running the pickleball courts. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Yelp
Ojai Valley is a beautifully maintained and peaceful property nestled among the mountains. The resort offers golf cart transportation around the grounds, with friendly drivers enhancing the experience. While the check-in process was somewhat lengthy, the overall service at the restaurants and housekeeping was consistently polite and attentive. The breakfast buffet and dinner options were both enjoyable. This destination is perfect for a family weekend getaway, many activities for kids and a well-maintained pool. However, there is room for improvement in service around the pool area.

Yelp
One of my favorite resorts in Southern California for a quick getaway. Ojai is a beautiful small city located in Ventura county. I absolutely love coming here year after year either for a daytrip or an overnight stay. I always chose Ojai Valley Inn cause it's the best . The perfect location with great amenities. The resort is very relaxing, with a wonderful spa, restaurants, coffee shop and bars. The pool areas are nice and fun to be at. The summer months are great here but have slightly higher rates per night. The spring and the fall season is beautiful with great landscaping and lots of activities for families. The food at the restaurants is fresh and delicious . Customer service is great. Overall a wonderful place to stay at any time of the year.

Yelp
Gorgeous property, definitely five stars luxury spotless. There's a lot to do on the property, including planned excursions, multiple restaurants, course, spa, and it's super dog friendly!! Most of the staff is very friendly and hospitable. Now, me get to the improvement opportunities. When this is a 5 star luxury resort and you are paying $1k a night, you expect phenomenal service. There were a few times our service was subpar. We mentioned it was our wedding anniversary on the reservation and multiple times at the front desk. No note or anything to celebrate. We waited a long time for our car multiple times after paying for valet and it turned out they forgot about us and our ticket. Our car was parked in plain sight all along and we ended up walking to it and just driving it off the property. The worst was when we were ready to leave we asked for help with our luggage. We called 2x and no one came. Because we were in a rush to leave, we had to carry everything on our own back to the car. Overall, if you are willing to pay a premium price for a nice hotel, the nicest in Ojai, then go enjoy it. But it's expensive on site and you may not get the 5 star treatment to associate with the price you pay. Just don't set your expectations so high as other 5 star hotel service. About Me: @jetsetjanine. I've traveled to over 100 countries and stayed at hundreds of 5 star hotels around the world.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ojai Valley Inn for a baby moon, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our fireplace mini suite exceeded our expectations with its spacious layout, two queen size beds, and luxurious amenities. The large deep soaking tub and separate enclosed shower added a touch of indulgence, while the fully furnished patio offered stunning views of the golf course and mountains. Waking up to the foggy mornings was a picturesque treat, especially while enjoying coffee on the patio amidst the serene surroundings. We made the most of the resort's amenities, enjoying the family-friendly pixie pool and indulging in delicious meals at the various restaurants. The chicken sandwich and pizzas from Jimmy's Pub were outstanding, as were the breakfast and dinner options at The Oak Restaurant. Special mentions go to Libby's coffee, the Cobb salad from Pixie Café, and the fantastic French fries from Spa Café. The exceptional service from the staff truly elevated our stay. From the welcoming front desk staff to the attentive shuttle drivers and magical housekeeping team, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The bartenders at Jimmy's Pub along with Oliver who assisted at the Wallace Neff heritage lounge stood out for their warmth and professionalism. Overall, our time at Ojai Valley Inn was nothing short of spectacular, and we're already looking forward to returning in the future. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful and magical properties that I have ever stayed in. It was easily one of the most relaxed stays I've had across my travels. The place is spectacular and well maintained. (My room was a little dusty.. but after a night or two it got much better.) The service is top notch and some of the best I've seen. The staff is attentive and kind. The grounds are stunning... just walking around brings a sense of peace and immersion into the local area. There are also a lot activities to do on site so you technically don't have to leave the property (nor do you want to). I would absolutely stay here again. The price is steep but it actually is one of the few hotels that is worth it.

Yelp
Heaven of Earth...For More than a Century! Great outdoor dining, with heaters and a view of the pristine golf course and so much more! Veronica served us and made our day. Great recommendations and a good sense of humor...what it's all about!!!

Yelp
This review is only for Ojai Valley Inn Golf director, Dave Doerr. My husband and I played at the course on 10/9, had an unpleasant experience due to a company event that was hosted on the course that day. At one point we were told by employees of the company that we are not even supposed to be playing since the entire course was supposed to be closed to the public. I emailed the golf director on 10/13 and shared my experience and as of today (10/29), he hasn't responded yet, and I think that reflects poor customer care. Otherwise, beautiful course and friendly staff, it's unfortunate that their director is not.

Yelp
A phenomenal trip because of phenomenal staff. We booked a quick getaway that was completely botched by Chase Travel (never again). The trip was saved by Elisa, who went out of her way to fix the mess made by Chase Travel. She made us feel welcome and valued on an incredibly busy weekend. She single handedly made this a 5-star experience and we are so thankful to her. The resort was lovely and the grounds are impeccable. Do yourself a favor! Thank you Elisa and Ojai Valley Inn for a great stay.

Yelp
I've stayed here many times and I've experienced the 5 star service they used to be capable of giving. The last few times, however, I just see this place becoming a beautiful property with poor service. In fact, the poor service is beginning to be the predominant piece. We booked well in advance, and called the morning of to tell them what time we would arrive. They assured us the room would be available by the "guaranteed" check in, but possibly even earlier. Of course, it was not available any earlier, but also not even when it was "guaranteed. " in fact, it wasn't available until about 40 minutes after the guarantee time. Luggage to our room? I started writing this 1.5 hours after "guaranteed" check in and still didn't have our luggage. It finally came about 2 hours after guaranteed check in. And, we weren't in the room and the bell person left our door without being locked. The room is a class that's supposed to have a view (vista luxury). We've stayed in that type of room before- usually beautiful views of the mountains or golf course. This view this time? A couple trees and the umbrellas of Jimmy's tavern. Noise all day long. Loud drinking groups of people. Main golf cart stop. Not at all what you would want to have peace on vacation. My guess is these are the worst rooms on the property other than the ones by the lobby facing the parking lot....and, this is like a 3rd tier rate, not one of the cheaper rates. Feels like a bait and switch on the room description and what you pay for. I went to the front desk to see if they could change our room. There women in front of me were complaining about being late to check in and he gave them. $100 restaurant credit and was all smiles and helpful. With me, it was $25 parking and a lot of "I'm sorry you're not happy" and "unfortunately there's nothing I can do." If I hadn't seen him be a completely different person to the women in front of me, I wouldn't have thought much about it, but when you see the treatment change between genders, you also know there's a real lack of professionalism and ineffective management. Ended up deciding to just let it go, but the noise level in the room around dinner time was so annoying, I called in to see if a different person would help. That person listened to me, told me she would take it to her manager and call me back shortly. Two hours later and no call. I don't expect one at this point. I just goes with the experience that it's all talk and smiles, but no real action to provide exceptional customer service. I could go on with other pieces of the story, but it's our first day here and already just poor service after poor service.i saw this happen with Terranea Resort...a once beautiful and great service resort become overcrowded and staff just get worse and worse. Part of why I stopped going there was for the same reasons I will eventually stop going here. They care more about getting more people in the door and making more money than they do about true excellent customer service.its the fake smile with the bad attitude that gets me. So if you want a beautiful resort that is kid friendly, dog friendly, and golf friendly...and outside of the main fray of greater Los Angeles, this is your place. Unless you care about customer service. Here, you'll find yourself frustrated multiple times in a single stay. Good luck.

Yelp
We love this property! One of our favorite getaways yet. The lush, mature landscaping is unmatched, the service is impeccable, the food is outstanding, the rooms/suites are cozy yet luxurious and around every corner is something to take your breath away. Resorts with this much attention to detail are rare and wonderful. Especially amazing was the Farmhouse. We had an event there and it was breathtaking. Sunset views from the Inn are stunning. All of the food we had was fantastic, but especially everything from Jimmy's Pub and the in-room dining (smoked salmon breakfast was the best I've ever had, and I have smoked salmon everywhere we go!) I wish I could give them 5 stars, but what keeps me from doing so is the fact that our suite in Villa Mariposa was so cold that we could not get comfortable during the entire (December) stay. The front door was missing some seals that would have kept the very cold air out, and the furnace didn't seem to be working properly. We ran it non-stop and could never get the room above 66 degrees. Fortunately, there is a cozy fireplace which we used all the time while in the room and there are extra blankets in the closet. We had an event in one of the Ballrooms and everyone left immediately after the meal because the room was only 60 degrees. We made many requests to staff to turn on the heat, but something must have been wrong with the system as the heat never came on, but the AC did run continuously on an evening that was in the low 50's. Also, and I say this about many luxury resorts, but I wish women were consulted about the shower design. There is nowhere to put our things, and we all have many things! There is nowhere to shave your legs. There is no water pressure (but this is a California issue, not an Ojai Valley Inn issue). Also, the exhaust fan in the toilet area was not working, so the shower steam accumulated, and the courtesy effect from restroom smells was not functioning. We will be back, but it will be in the summer when it's a bit warmer.

Yelp
My husband, mom and I were visiting Ojai for the first time and knew we needed to have a spa weekend here. It was great to escape from Los Angeles. We got here on Friday night and check in was very easy. Then we enjoyed dinner at The Oak, the typical hotel restaurant for all meals. It was a beautiful outdoor setting and I loved the little table lambs. I did not enjoy the pixie grapefruit and tangerine margarita as it was too bitter for me. On Saturday we enjoyed the Artist Cottage, making wind chimes. Susan was an amazing instructor and took time to help my mom get through the creative process and application. So excited to hang up our wind chimes. We enjoyed the adult only indigo pool. It was not crowded and the water temperature was great for the heat. On Saturday night we enjoyed a delicious meal at Olivella and there wasn't anything I could complain about. Sunday we enjoyed treatments at the spa and the amenities. I had a reflexology massage which was so relaxing. We stayed in Casa Loma which was a VERY confusing, maze like section of the hotel. The front desk needs to really do a better job at explaining the number of elevators we need to take and which floors to get off at. The numbers in the elevators do not reflect that the actual floor you are on. (For instance the 4th floor in the elevator is actually the 5th floor). More signage in the hallway floors are necessary and even the staff at the hotel said it was the most confusing part, so please make sure you update. Overall it was an amazing weekend and my husband and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Nestled in the picturesque Ojai Valley, Ojai Valley Inn, offers a perfect blend of luxury and relaxation. As soon as we got there we felt a sense of calmness. The open fields, Spanish architecture, fountains and historic trees makes this places the most unique place . We took advantage of their breakfast buffet which was $75 per adult and they had an amazing selection of options. Crab, oysters, lox bagels, pastries, omelette station, mimosas, and more! After we ate we walked down to their activity center and the kids got to paint a bit. Then we went to their pub and grabbed pizza and appetizers and they were all delicious. Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, Ojai Valley Inn is your premier destination for a memorable escape.

Yelp
The perfect location. Truly can't be beat. I grew up in Oxnard and didn't really bother going to Ojai until I was an adult. Even then I stuck to my basics. All that to say, this was my first time here. We came in for brunch to celebrate my bday as well as my friend's. We love a double celebration! There was about a 5 min wait for our table, but all was good as they let us start drinking in the waiting area by the bathroom. Manny had just refilled our flutes when we were called over and led to our table for our party of 6. I made sure to take the seat that overlooked the grounds. Thanks to the downpour, the views were green for days. The food selection was varied. You had your seafood, salads, meats, fruits and desserts. My first plate was surf & turf. I kicked off with crab legs, jumbo shrimp and the tritip with chimichurri. Next up was an assortment of salads with a side of eggs benedict. I closed it out with a mixture of desserts. My favorite was the bread pudding. All in all a great experience. As we had a bit of time to kill, we decided to hang out in the grass area and watched the folks tee off. The view from the golf course is majestic. We took advantage of the tram the inn has for their guests and took it back to the parking/valet area where our ride was. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Beautiful resort for a family getaway. They pay attention to the finishing touches for the kids. The pool and spa are amazing. They have bikes available, with baby carriers! Ojai is wonderful, but this hotel makes it easy to never want to leave the property. Some buildings are very easy to get lost and not always easy finding a stroller friendly route, so ask when you're booking a room. The buildings closer to the spa are a bit less confusing.

Yelp
This is my very trip to Ojai and Ojai Valley Inn was one of our first stops for linner. After visiting our friend Holly in Rancho Matilija. What an absolute stunning hotel, spa, and grounds. Cottage and lush trees stretch for acres: we were driven in golf carts all-around so much fun! We dropped in for linner on the lawn that stretches beyond where the eye can see: in 84 degree weather prior to storm Hillary arriving. And 10 mins early at that, but the staff was kind and served us regardless. Our mock tails where delicious, as well as the humus dip and cucumber salad finger foods. There was a wedding down the way, where a bevy of folks in elegant attire strolled the lawns for someone's special day. Really gorgeous setting, and ideas for future events. Children ran abt the lawn, parents where carrying their golf clubs, and we lounged by the fire pits. Lamps swung in the wind, handing from the long limbs of 200yr old California oak trees. Truly the utmost, elegance and such an escape into utopia. I may return back here for 3 months, if work is sluggish but it's never a bad idea for a summer/autumn get-away. Gorgeous!

Linda C.

Yelp
I have been sitting here for 30 min before our order was taken. Restaurant nearly empty. Had reservations and showed up on time. We did get menus and beverages, view is nice meanwhile. When the food arrived it was wonderful. Waiter was accommodating w a birthday. You get a chocolate lavender mousse that is the best!!! Don't miss it. Everything we had was good including the kombucha drink and the rosemary spritzer

Leon B.

Yelp
Wonder best describes the resturant. We went on a Sunday with brunch brunch only. I had oysters, shrimp, herb treated tri-tip and various salads. Music in the background to smooth our indulgence in the food. Made the trip to look for a resort and I'm in Chris and we're considering saying they're over the holidays perhaps wonderful. The weather was great. We ate outdoors plenty of heat lamps in case you get cold, the service excellent friendly and accessible I will definitely either stay here. Definitely come back again to eat.

Yelp
Dreamy, hidden gem. Gorgeous start to a romantic retreat. This inn has been a go to for decades. Serene. Calm. Unplugged.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing spa resort! Everything from the beautiful grounds, spa services, restaurants, customer service, comphy beds is spectacular and is 5/5. We came here for the a weekend and enjoyed a relaxing and wonderful time here. The food is great, the employees are going above and beyond, our room (277) was huge, the bed was so comphy that it was hard to get up in the morning. We waited too long to book a spa treatment so I was only able to book a facial. It was relaxing and worth it. We attended the yoga class and the only suggestion is to designate a closed area for the yoga classes when it rains. We will definitely be back!

Dave H.

Yelp
Without exception the staff was friendly and helpful. On more than one occasion, the driver of the jitney intended only for staff transport gave me a ride (in the absence of the regular shuttle). Very much appreciated. Minor issues: The adverts say it's walking distance to the ocean. Well, maybe. Google maps makes it 14.8 miles to a beach at Ventura. That's quite a walk! The concierge told me the exercise room was only open during spa hours. Fortunately, I never believe what I'm told. I was pleased to get in at 4AM to get in a workout before the day's activities began. One of the evenings featured steak, which was a bit tough. The tables were not set with steak knives, and there was no maitre d' to instantly rectify the situation upon seeing the difficulty that many of the guests were having. As I say, minor (I was able to cut my steak with the usual knife). Good time, great location.

Yelp
Expensive but amazing weekend away. Beautiful property with a golf course, spa, pools, and multiple restaurants on site. You can park your car and never leave the property for days. All the amenities you could ask for. Fire pits throughout. Live music outside on the weekends. Both upscale restaurants as well as some casual offerings as well. Many different types of rooms to choose from. Overall I highly recommend checking this place out on a special occasion if you have the budget!

Yelp
ZOMG - this place is amazing. Was lucky enough to attend a company holiday party out here. Heard it was a fantastic place and it certainly lived up to the expectations. Stayed for 2 nights - my room was beautiful. Highlights for me include a very large sliding glass door. Which lead out to a small patio. The view was excellent. Also had a fire place which I ran both nights. The bathroom even had it's own bath tub. Which I did use, being a 6ft 6 dude - I was pleasantly surprised I could fit in the tub. Was very comfortable experience. Slept very well. The grounds were meticulously maintained - very beautiful. Ended up riding the tram around the grounds just to take everything in. There is a golf course, which while I didn't get out on - the driving range was awesome. Very much enjoyed the Pub. They even had a darker beer in tap, a brown ale. Which was really solid. Plenty of other stuff on tap. Was a nice well rounded selection. Be sure to take it all in when you stay. The view of the mountains are great. The Inn though sports some really gorgeous architecture. Was a seriously wonderful stay.

Yelp
Stunning location and grounds to be sure and a golfers paradise. Check in was at 4 which is when we arrived. Our room wasn't ready until 5 which based on the other reviews doesn't seem to be uncommon. Since we were only staying for one night, it all felt very rushed with a mandatory 11am check out. Given the price point, that isn't really worth it. Ojai doesn't seem to have much in the way of mid-range hotels so it's either OVI or something on the low end, which may not suit. The room was nice and staff was lovely.

Yelp
Verdict: Huge waste of money. Pros: - Location is peaceful and serene with breathtaking scenic views - Birds in aviary are well taken care of. They look happy and healthy except the African gray who looks sad - Staff at Jimmy's Pub are genuinely hospitable. Food and drinks there were tasty, highly recommend the lavender lemonade. - Turndown service was very professional and impressive. They provided us orange jelly beans, replenished our fruit bowl, laid out our robes, cleaned the toilet, and wrapped up our charging cables - My partner received a happy birthday cupcake and card which is appreciated - Tesla charging available upon request to valet (we didn't use it) - Hygiene products are locally produced and smell good Cons: - Check-in process was abysmal which was a terrible first impression. No welcome water offered, reception did not seem genuinely hospitable (except Natasha who is A+), waited 30 minutes for our luggage and we walked in the heat back to retrieve it ourselves. Found our luggage still sitting in the lobby. - Cost-cutting measures everywhere like not providing turndown service or slippers unless requested - No bubble bath soap provided so if you take a bath, you're just sitting in water I paid a pretty penny for a Shangri-La room so I am shocked this place falls very short of 5-star property standards. I would say this resort is more 3 or 4 stars. I can see the manual labor occupations like housekeeping is short-staffed and employees don't look happy from being overworked and/or in the heat. Paying customers should not be affected or concerned with staffing issues, especially when we're being charged full price. Two star rating because of poor value.

Yelp
My wife and I have been coming here for our anniversary since 2017. Every single time it's an incredible experience and I would even say it gets better each time we visit. This year we came for 2 days in August, and the exceptional staff members were Roger and Nicole at The Oak and Joe at the Indigo Pool. The entire staff treats you with authentic kindness, the food is amazing, and the vibes are the best at the indigo pool. The only "complaint" I have if you can even call it that, is that the Michelada mix at the pool was not so great, so I returned it. We will continue to visit each year for our anniversary, can't wait for next time!

Yelp
We spent two wonderful days at the OVI for my husband's recent birthday. The service was impeccable, whether we requested something for the room, at the pool, a shuttle transfer or a dined at one of their amazing restaurants , it was top notch!! Shout out to the shuttle drivers, wait staff, and housekeeping team who made sure that our stay was memorable!!

Yelp
"Was just here to gawk, and eat at the Pub" Certainly a very nice place with beautiful grounds, but to stay here is somewhere in the range of $1,000 a night after taxes and fees, per night. Just not going to do that. But you can walk on to the gold course, and score the twilight rate, which is super reasonable. We grabbed something to eat and the food was excellent and we ate outside, very very relaxing. What never fails to impress me is that this place is usually sold out - clearly there are plenty of people that throw down big big money to stay here, great for them, just not for me.

Yelp
This is the ONLY place to stay in Ojai - everything about your experience here will be a memorable one - great views, amazing spa, lots to do even if you don't golf! Only advice - book well in advance, many holiday periods book up a year in advance. Oh and if you like Rye, be sure to ask for the Piggyback tasting at the Wallace Neff Heritage Bar!

Yelp
This place is going downhill. I've stayed here every year and lately it's been a complete disaster. TERRIBLE SERVICE. pay for early check in but never get the room in time. Leaves our hotel room door open. 1 hour waits for ur valet car to go down the street. And just attitude from the entire reception staff. I mean save your money- don't stay here. Literally writing this as I sit in their reception area.

Yelp
I had the most magical and memorable weekend staying at the Ojai Valley Inn last weekend, and felt I had to share. I first came to the Ohio Valley Inn in October for a conference. While I was there, I was overtaken by the beauty of the property, and stopped by the concierge and asked for some advice on potentially doing a proposal in Ojai. I met Colin from Concierge, and after walking me through the property, I knew I had to do it in Ojai. Over the next couple months, I can't even begin to share how much he went above and beyond to help make this weekend one I'll never forget. He was accessible, and spent a lot of his own personal time getting on the phone with me answering my questions (even when the hotel was closed in early January!), and he even played a role in the proposal itself. Whenever I would thank him for all he did, he said "No problem, this is what we do in hospitality." Clearly, they go above and beyond at the Ojai Valley Inn, because it's something I've never experienced anywhere else. When you're there, also make sure to eat at the Oak, go to the pool / hot tub, and walk around the property. It's also less than a mile from downtown Ojai, which also makes for a beautiful walk. This is my new favorite place.

Yelp
We had the best time during spring break here. Our kiddo loves to run around, climb trees and spend time at the pool. This stay was a perfect combination for relaxing for the parents and fun activities for the kiddos. We enjoyed s'mores by the fire pits on both nights, the pool with a separate option for small kids was amazing, and the arts and crafts was fun! We got to do 2 different crafts! Lastly we did some honey tasting and got the sugar high going for the evening :)! The room was comfortable and the service is unmatched! The only thing I'll suggest is that all staff knows when the trolley and other activities may be happening. We had to call the trolley business to learn that it only stops at the inn on weekend. Either way...overall really great experience. Our toddler still talks about it :)!

Yelp
It's all about the relaxation factor-- spa treatments, lounging with a cocktail, serene surroundings, no agenda, sumptuous meals, hanging out at the pool, ordering terrific room service food or maybe a leisurely game of golf, pickle ball, or taking an easy bike ride into town. You can do as much or little as you want. This place is definitely pricey, but you should know that going in. We came for a milestone anniversary and they treated us like royalty-- complimentary champagne in our room, 'happy anniversary' printed on our dinner menu, etc. We enjoyed an amazing prix fixe dinner at Olivella and Vine, sharing a super fresh salad with locally picked produce, tasty corn risotto, first rate pasta bolognese, incredible wagyu rib eye, perfectly seared scallops, and delish desserts. The one- hour relaxation massage was heavenly. Our room in the Wallace Neff building was lovely (though being on the bottom floor may subject you to noise upstairs). There were a million little professional, thoughtful touches and the entire staff was charming and friendly. I was surprised to see children running about but there were special areas for them to swim and play. Knowing that Nancy Silverton put her stamp of culinary excellence on the place sealed the deal for foodies like us. We also enjoyed the cocktail scene at the bar. A special place for a special occasion or to just feel special.

Yelp
Do not stay here - horrible customer service and tired/dirty rooms My family decided to stay here to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and my son's 1st. We've stayed here before and while we overall liked our last stay, the room was a little tired and had some issues (eg a broken window that stayed open and resulted in bugs in the room). We were so excited for this momentous celebration and trip. Sadly, this turned out to be one of our worst hotel experiences. It took over two hours to get to our room from the time it was promised. I get that delays and mistakes happen but the staff were fairly cold, unwelcoming, and indifferent about our wait, especially given it was a hot day and we were carrying our 1 year old and luggage around. After finally getting into our room (the initial set of keys they gave us did not work...), we were not given the room type we reserved. The room was smaller than what we had booked with a layout that was not ideal for our family. The room was extremely tired and dirty - stains on the carpet, ripped couch, etc.. It was gross. Not worth what they were charging me. What made it so upsetting is that the staff were rude and completely unapologetic. Instead of taking any accountability, they tried to play it off like this was the room that I booked (even my eventual cancelation email had the room type listed correctly). The rude, dismissive, and unprofessional treatment, the long wait with a baby in tow, the wrong room, and a very old and dirty room was a very upsetting start to what should have been a joyous celebration for our family. Their "solution" was offering that the next day they would maybe try to give us another room but could not make any guarantee nor tell us what room they would switch us to. They gave no sincere apology for what a disaster the day had been for us. After lugging our baggage and one-year old around their grounds for 3 hours (after spending 5 hours traveling to Ojai) we had no interest in ruining another day being treated so poorly and feeling so upset about the trip. Pains me to say it because their grounds are gorgeous and I love Ojai - but I will never be returning back here again. This is a resort that does not value their customers (or clean, up-to-date rooms).

Yelp
Review for Spa & Cafe only: I came here with my husband for the first time (we were given a gift card). Seems that there is only one self parking lot, it's a bit far from the Spa, however my husband and I enjoyed our walk down (they do have golf carts for those who need a lift). Libbey's + Libbey's Boutique: We started off getting breakfast at Libbey's, which we both enjoyed. Ended getting two breakfast sandwiches and lavender cake; both delicious and full of flavor. Libbey's boutique and the cafe has tons of great items for gifts or for just yourself; they have granola, olive oil, wine, books, clothing etc. etc. Spa Cafe: I ended up getting a coffee and a really cute Basil candle, smells absolutely delicious! As for the hot tub, which is located right next to people getting massages (you aren't allowed to talk when they are in session). I feel like they could have placed this somewhere else. Spa Boutique: Had some very cute stuff, however I wish they sold the lotion and hand soap they had in the bathrooms, they smell fantastic! Ojai Spa: Last but not least, the actual spa visit was relaxing (but expensive! whew! Mandatory 20% tip). The staff is first and foremost very attentive and extremely nice. The spa has a couple of saunas, an indoor pool and there are tons of lockers. The main waiting space upstairs (coed) contains several places to sit, a fireplace, water bottles, flavored water, a flavored drink (I think it was lemonade?), and fruit. As for the massage itself, it was enjoyable (not the best I've ever had); however I loved my masseuse just for the fact of her personality and she really listened to what I said I needed or concerns I had. With the massage they have you inhale essential oils; nothing too different compared to other places I have gone to. At the end of the spa, they give you this wonderful chamomile tea and delicious lavender cookies! (they just melt in your mouth!). Overall, I found the whole adventure very enjoyable, relaxing and I am grateful to have been able to experience Ojai (finally!). Not sure how soon I can get back here (cost for everything was about the amount for a plane ticket out of the country).

Yelp
I will definitely be back! Enjoyed a short getaway to Ojai Valley Inn. Immediately upon arriving I felt like I was on a vacation. Their location is prime in the valley with mountains surrounding the resort. We participated in several activities while we were there including the beekeeping experience, a spa day including massages, pottery painting and my husband took a tennis lesson. All the experiences were extremely relaxing. The beekeeping experience was very educational and you get to sample several types of honey after the experience along with a cheese and fruit platter. Highly recommend. We also ate at both of the restaurants on site. They weren't the best for food, but the ambience and service at both were wonderful. I am really looking forward to my next weekend getaway at Ojai Valley Inn.

Yelp
Summary: upscale nicely landscaped property, lots of onsite diversions, fantastic staff Details: If you're lucky enough to be able to afford to stay here or you're included in some group activity, take advantage of it -- it's an oasis in Ojai (which is itself an oasis). Check-in can get very backed up, especially on Friday night before a long weekend. Let them valet your car (no additional fee) and have your bags sent to your room. Fair warning: it might take as long as an hour for your bags to show up so find something relaxing to do. You could start by exploring the property -- it's bigger than you think. I recommend you start on the Shangri-La side and look for the outdoor bird cage. Then stroll the gardens on the way to the family pool. If you tire of walking, there are golf cart shuttles which loop around the property. You don't need to go off property to eat. There are multiple food options, from more formal to grab and go. The food is solid, although a bit pricey (no surprise). Some of the rooms are starting to show their age. On a recent visit, our toilet backed up and flooded the bathroom. Gross. But they cleaned it up and sanitized while we were out. The staff have been uniformly polite and helpful. Ojai Vally Inn is a fantastic place to relax - if you can afford it.

Yelp
I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Had a wonderful girls weekend that was utter perfection. Today I wrote the hotel asking to purchase their Eucalyptus Spray which is placed in the hotel room at night . I received an email offering 5 sprays sent to me complimentary ! The grounds, spa, restaurant, staff - all are amazing! Exceeded expectations! Can't wait to go again and again!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for our babymoon. I would describe the stay as being just okay. The grounds are no doubt beautiful, but other things left a lot to be desired. First, the room we got was basically a room staring at a roof. They advertise all rooms having views, but in this instance we were very not satisfied, especially when paying almost $800 per night. At dinner, we waited more than 20 minutes before a waiter or assistant waiter even came over to give us water. This is understandable, but the food at the restaurant left a lot to be desired for the price. Finally, I left my AirPod Pros at the hotel (my mistake). I left them on the nightstand and I realized about half way home and called the hotel. They said they would look into it, and I could see my airpods were still at the hotel on my iPhone. They were there for two days, and I kept calling the hotel and was told they would ask housekeeping management if they had been found. After two days at the hotel, my airpods are now in Gardena and I am confident I will never get them back. If I stayed here again I would NOT leave my valuables out. This is the first time I've had this happen where my lost property was stolen. I know that is ultimately my fault for leaving the airpods there, but the fact that i called at least 10 times over two days asking someone to look into getting them back as I could SEE them on the map at the resort is very frustrating. UPDATE. I have confirmed that a hotel worker with the company Radian who contracts with Ojai Valley Inn has my AirPods and is using them. I tracked them to Radian where the person is actively using my AirPods and I'm still not able to get them. This confirms that they were stolen from my room after I left them there by a hotel worker. Beware of leaving your valuables out here, you have been warned. FINAL UPDATE: My AirPods remain stolen, Ojai Valley Inn attempted to get them back to me by contacting the contract company but were unsuccessful. Their loss prevention manager was very helpful and responsive, and I was ultimately compensated for my AirPods, so they did make it right in the end.

Yelp
Amazing! This was by far the best stay-cation I ever had. The spa and adult pool is worth the day trip!

Yelp
This place is a true gem. Only an hour drive from L.A makes it the perfect getaway if you don't want to go to far. I love the SPA and the whole facility... The team at the Ojai Valley Inn is amazing... Kind, friendly and helpful. Alex (one of the managers at the Oak restaurant) and Kameron went out of their way to make my experience amazing today!

Yelp
I was just here over the rainy weekend and had mostly a good time. My only complaint is that the room took a while to get in but other than that, the room was nice and I really enjoyed it. However, once I arrived back home in Los Angeles, I realized I forgot a polo in the room and immediately called them. They handled the situation well and got my clothes back.

Yelp
My second visit to Ojai Valley Inn and I was quite impressed with this resort. Service - 5 stars - everyone was so helpful, however some of the employees weren't trained or informed of the local sights or restaurants, a little frustrating, that's why the 4 stars. Food - 4 stars. I dined at The Oak, the main restaurant at the resort, Lillie's, the takeaway restaurant, poolside at the Indigo Pool and Jimmys Pub. The best food was at the Indigo Pool! Lillie's takeaway food was very bland, I tried a breakfast burrito and several of the salads and they had no flavor at all, very disappointing. Ambiance - 5 stars/ the resort had beautiful grounds, we enjoyed sitting every evening around the fire pits and having a cocktail and roasting s'mores.... The service at the fire pits was great. Room - I stayed in a luxury vista room, the beds were very comfortable and the Frette sheets were great! However, the shower had mold in the corners and I was pretty bothered by that, this was suppose to be a 5 star resort..therefore 3 stars for bathroom cleanliness. Spa Ojai- this was fabulous! The gym was very clean, had newer gym equipment and the attendant was always cleaning the equipment after each use. Bottled water, cold towels available, trail mix snacks and the delicious Ojai tangerines, which were a treat! I took 2 classes in the spa and the instructors were real fitness trainers/ the Pilates and yoga instructor was so far superior than anyone I have taken at a resort hotel - she gave great instructions, very knowledgeable and inspiring!
