4-Star Review: The Farmhouse - La Plata Charm and Great Food! My family and I had a lovely visit to The Farmhouse in La Plata recently, and overall, it was a wonderful experience! Atmosphere and Service The atmosphere in the building was a truly pleasant site. You can tell it’s a family-oriented restaurant that is wholesome and put together with love. We didn't have a long wait to be seated, which was great, and our server, Debbie, was fantastic—attentive and friendly! The Food My wife and I ordered the salmon cakes platter, and they were outstanding! The menu description is accurate; it’s definitely fresh salmon, not the canned version, and it made a huge difference. The potatoes served with the meal were very hearty and satisfying. My kids absolutely loved their mini pancakes! I snuck a taste, and they were indeed cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The only negative I noticed was that the eggs appeared to be powdered eggs instead of fresh shell eggs. That was a bit of a disappointment given the quality of the rest of the meal. Final Verdict Despite the egg situation, the quality of the salmon cakes, the amazing pancakes, and the wonderful service from Debbie make this a great spot. We will absolutely be returning in the future!

Today was me and my wife's FIRST time visiting this place for breakfast because we overheard a couple talking about this restaurant while getting our cars serviced. Well, to get to the point before I take a nap.....the food there is The Best I've Had In The Ten Years I've lived here in Maryland, I'm originally from California. The owner "Bill" even came out and introduced himself to the guests and us, he was such a gentle with a good spirit. *I'm diabetic so I really can't do biscuits anymore, but for some reason my mind told me to take a chance and I ordered a Combo of Sausage Gravy & Cream Chipped Beef over Biscuits with Fresh Cut Potatoes & Onions, WOW!!!! Man o' Man.....we've FINALLY found a GOOD breakfast spot.

I will visit there again. As a vegetarian, I ate very well. Chocolate tea with whipped cream is excellent. My husband enjoyed his coffee. I do not have any complaints. Our server, I think Samantha was wonderful.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, a charming reflection of the comfort food it serves with surprising precision and heart. My wife ordered the shrimp and Cajun grits, with a side of seasoned potatoes. The grits were, at long last, cooked properly--a rarity even in establishments that claim Southern inspiration. Creamy, well-textured, and infused with Cajun seasoning that had just the right amount of kick. The shrimp, lightly fried and delicately crisped, brought a satisfying contrast in texture. Together, the dish struck a perfect balance between richness and spice. I opted for the salmon cakes, served with two eggs, creamy grits, and an English muffin. I added a side of a single pancake, and frankly, I wish I had ordered a stack. It was airy, moist, and subtly sweet--easily one of the best pancakes I've had in recent memory. The salmon cakes were exceptional--beautifully seasoned and pan-seared to a golden finish. The interior remained moist without being mushy, a balance many attempt and few achieve. I nearly forgot the remoulade sauce it came with, which speaks volumes about the standalone flavor of the cakes. But when I did add a touch of the sauce and a squeeze of fresh lemon, the combination elevated the dish to something even more memorable. If you order this plate--and you should--do not skip the lemon and remoulade. Together, they create a bright, creamy, slightly tangy finish that ties the whole dish together brilliantly. Service was equally impressive. Our waiter, Trevor, brought a genuine charm to the table--knowledgeable, attentive, and honest about the menu. A Texas native, he offered recommendations that felt personal rather than rehearsed. Ask for Trevor if you can; he's the kind of server who enhances the meal with his presence alone. In short, this place is the epitome of a hidden gem--humble in appearance, bold in flavor, and run with evident pride. It's proof that some of the best food experiences come when you least expect them. A return visit isn't a question of if, but when. And as always, enjoy your bite!!!

Staff was kind. I was seating pretty quickly for it being a Sunday, church let out hours. However the space is pretty small and close together but it is a small business. I am unsure if the upstairs is in use. They had one waitress in the section she came to me only once, there was about 4 other parties in the section. Very clean. The food wasn’t the best my crepe wasn’t hot, pretty mediocre. Bacon was fresh and crispy. They were also out of a much of things that people requested. Needs some work but good little place.

Been here twice now. Crepes are fantastic. Portions are big. Service is always pleasant. It's a little tight with seating, but makes it cozy i suppose. Cute decor and theme. If you like the classic, Chipped Beef, they have it.

On Wednesday morning, I decided to treat myself for my birthday and chose this spot specifically for their wide selection of crepes, which I absolutely love. I was not disappointed. The restaurant's charming southern decor added to the overall pleasant ambiance, reminding me of a Texas pancake house. I must commend their fast service and the quality of the food. The crepes were fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. In addition to the pancakes, we also ordered a pecan crepe and an apple crepe, which were equally delightful. To complete our meal, we all enjoyed the fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. I would highly recommend this place for a satisfying breakfast or lunch experience. Furthermore, they offer some alcohol options and serve breakfast and lunch all day, which is a great convenience. If you're a fan of brunch, you'll be pleased to know that they even serve mimosas. The only downside I encountered was the lack of vegan options. I did search for them, but unfortunately, they were not available. However, for those who are not following a vegan diet, this spot is definitely worth a try. Also did i mention the prices are excellent.

Great place for breakfast. If you drive by you probably wouldn’t even notice it’s there. It’s a home concerted into a restaurant. Great atmosphere and service could not have been any better. Friendly and helpful and fast. The food was fantastic. The home fries were a little dry but that would be the only complaint I could think of. Other wise amazing food and experience. I would highly recommend giving them a try.

REAL TALK: The hype of this place is due to the mere fact that there aren't many other 'breakfast-y' options in the La Plata area. We had heard about this popular spot and decided to check them out last minute while in the area; they do not take reservations, so it's first-come, first-serve. The place isn't too big, so you are looking at around a 1.5-2+-long waits. Their menu offers cold and warm crepes, breakfast plates, alcoholic beverages, as well as seasonal features. We ordered: +a Honey Drizzle - a 'plain' crepe, topped with sliced strawberries and blueberries, granola, and honey; this wasn't the simple crepe that my hubs was looking for; this was not served warm or hot at all, and it seemed as if it was just sitting for a while after it was prepared; fruit could have been more fresh, and the granola was stale +the West Coast - crepe filled with smoked gouda and fontina, tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and boom boom sauce; not really sure where the boom boom sauce was, but there just wasn't enough; this was supposed to be a 'warm' crepe, but it was served cold and the crepe was 'gummy' +and, the Buffalo Chicken - crepe filled with grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, onions, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and ranch dressing; the grilled chicken was inedible; not sure if these were the pre-packaged frozen kinds, but they did not taste fresh; the buffalo sauce was a bit overwhelming, and the fillings do not stay in place; this was also served cold, while the crepe being 'gummy' Service was friendly; the place itself had a really bad body odor mixed with an old dish rag type of a smell, so it was difficult to enjoy even a smidge of our time there. The front hostesses were friendly. Note that the parking lot gets filled up quickly, and there are some illegal parkers; if you're unlucky, it may take a while for the accused to move their vehicle. +gummy crepes +unpleasant odor in the restaurant

The Farmhouse Cafe and Creperie is the cutest little place I stumbled upon, and I'm so glad I did! It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday, with about a 10-minute wait--but that just shows how popular it is! The customer service was fantastic; everyone was warm and welcoming. I ordered the Cheesecake Crepe, and wow, it was absolutely delicious--LOVE LOVE LOVE! A must-try if you have a sweet tooth. I also had the chicken and cheese sub. I'd give it a solid 7/10. It was a bit cold and could have used a little more seasoning, but it was still a decent option overall. The prices were reasonable, and I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu. A charming spot for a cozy bite!

We wanted to try a local non-chain restaurant and this was one of our options. The restaurant is a former home that's been renovated to accommodate customers. It's comfortable and they have a decent parking lot. They give you the option to be added to a waiting list during busy times and I did that as we were driving there. Our wait to be seated was very short. Service was fine. The main attraction - their crepes were on my to try list. I've never had a crepe so my expectations were just go with the flow. It was very basic to me. They were a good size but it tasted like tortillas. Tortillas aren't bad but that's the taste it reminded of. I tried the Mexican crepe which was hearty but simple. I tried the crepe with the fruits and granola. Once again tasted like a tortilla with fruits and granola.

Cool little breakfast and lunch spot. Limited seating and parking. The restaurant was a home at one point. The crepes and food were outstanding and the service was excellent. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time to save you a long wait.

This is our 2nd time eating here. Today we both ordered the same sandwich. It was so huge it's an entire meal. If you are a biscuit lover, this sandwich hits the spot. Two hefty slices of scrapple is nestled in the biscuit along with 2 eggs, which we had hard fried. Then the cheddar cheese sort of oozed into all that goodness. We are glad we didn't order that side of FFs we thought about. We topped that off with 2 Bloody Mary's. Mic drop! Amanda did an excellent job multitasking with all her tables. Thanks. And kudos to whoever does the scrapple and biscuit fixing. Shucks, kudos to the entire team.

My friend and I stopped here for brunch. It was delicious! We loved every bite. The food was fresh. The waitress was very attentive when we needed her attention. The restaurant had a farmhouse feel and was very cute. I love the old fashioned look to everything. We will be stopping by the next time we are in town.

Always a great meal at The Farmhouse. The owner knows our name and welcomes us every time. They now how an alcohol menu, so I enjoyed a great mimosa with my crepe. We will be back again, and again!

We stopped at The Farmhouse in La Plata on our way to Colonial Beach for breakfast. We were placed on the waitlist as the tea was completely full. It is just as beautiful inside as the the outside. They have a long bench to sit inside as you wait for your table. Music playing in the background was pleasant. We met the owner during the wait and he told us about all the work he and the family did to open this beautiful restaurant. The Bloody Mary arrived with great presentation, lime and lemon slice, 3 olives, and celery. Delicious!!! The handheld (egg n bacon) on biscuit was excellent. The biscuits are so good. The wife's veggie omelet was to her delight. 5 stars!!!

My Turkey avocado crepe was delicious! I was disappointed I couldn't order carry out on a Sunday, but they seated me so I could order and ask for to go boxes. The host and waitress were very nice and the interior is cute and welcoming. I also ordered a cookies and cream crepe. It was good and had lots of cream, but was best while eaten warm.

This was the second time coming here. I was glad that they had almond milk this time. Went for breakfast Sunday morning and was greeted and seated immediately. The service by Trevon was absolutely perfect. Very attentive, professional and calm. We never had to look for him he was always around to assist. I appreciate that the manager Ben came to the table to check in as well. The mimosas were good and properly portioned juice to champagne. Prices were reasonable and food was delicious. We liked the down home warm decor, very fitting of that area. Will definitely be coming more often!

I'd summarize that this place is a great (and busy) spot for diner crepes. Nothing more. Nothing less. I've been here a couple times now. First order was savory ham and cheese crepe with over easy eggs. Second time was apple streusel and chocolate pecan crepes. This place is busy. Lots of locals filling this place in top to bottom. If you get here past 08:30-9:00, you'll probably be looking at a significant wait time. I waited 30m around 10:30. They have a solid rotation and push people through pretty well. They'll call you to let you know when you can be seated. The ham and cheese I didn't like the ratio of cheese/ham/spinach/mustard. Ham was too thick, not enough cheese, spinach wasn't cooked like I'd want it. The crepe itself wasn't terrible. Just not great. The over-easy eggs were horribly undercooked. I didn't enjoy them. The dessert crepes were much better. The apple was very delicious. I wish there was more graham cracker, but it hit the spot nicely. If you're not looking for a premium crepe, this does the job. You can tell the ingredients are all straight from the can, from the candied apple, the whipped cream, to the graham cracker. I can't say the same taste-wise about the pecan crepe. It had way too many pecans for my liking. Even throwing half of them out, I still got sick of eating pecans. Was tasty otherwise.

We shared a pecan turtle cheesecake crepe as well as traditional breakfast entrees. We even met the owner on our first visit, and he was very friendly! They were very busy Sunday morning, but we were seated in a few minutes. We will definitely be back for weekend breakfasts and brunches. The crepe was probably my favorite part of this meal, yum!! This is a welcome option in the area as there are not many breakfast spots around. (Please note these 5 stars are for an area that is mostly populated with chain restaurants.)

Would only recommend for crepes. The setting is nice but after multiple attempts to add this restaurant to our rotation or go to, we just couldn't because of one thing after the other. Menu is lax luster, strawberry crepes dont come with strawberries, biscuits are dry, potatoes are frozen and fried, head waitress is rude, doesnt permit carry-outs even if you sit or call in.

While the ambiance and quaint charm of the establishment were undeniable, I must admit that all the hype I had been reading fell short of my expectations. That being said, the service was friendly but not 100% attentive, but atmosphere added a cozy touch to the dining experience. While the Farmhouse may not have hit the spot for me personally, I can see its appeal for those seeking a quaint spot for a casual meal with friends or family. I do believe it needs a second chance review to try the rest of their breakfast options.

Yes I would recommend food was pretty good. Nice portions, much larger inside than expected. I anticipated the restaurant to be very small but it was surprisingly a good amount tables and space inside. Very clean. Nicely decorated dining area! Good service

The worst chicken and waffles I've ever seen! In town for a race this morning and came here for breakfast afterwards with my partner. Parking lot was full and there were people waiting. They took our information and said it would be a 20 minute wait. After probably 10 minutes or less we were seated. The waitress immediately came and took our order and said the kitchen was very busy so it would likely be a 20 minute wait for our food. I ordered fried eggs, turkey sausage, and fried potatoes with onions. My partner ordered fried chicken and waffles and we paid extra to have blueberries on the waffles. We easily waited 20 minutes even though tables were opening up and it was slowing down. When they brought us our food, we were both in shock. The fried chicken looked like it came out of a bag of chicken tenders from Food Lion. They were like the chicken tinders you might find on a kids meal, though the absolute cheapest quality. The waffle was clearly not made fresh and instead of blueberries on top, there was a thin drizzle of blueberry flavored sauce. We both couldn't believe after reading the reviews that this is what we were served. My fried eggs, turkey bacon and toast was fine. The fried potatoes were barely warm and if there were onions in there, it was impossible to tell unless they were the little crackling bits. The coffee was also terrible. It tasted beyond burnt. We at least thought the server was going to be a high point since she immediately took our order and warned us about the kitchen wait. Unfortunately, we had to flag her down after 10 - 15 minutes so my partner could have her coffee topped up. We would never go back to this place and recommend avoiding.

As a Birthday Lunch, we enjoyed delicious food and the waitress brought us 3 birthday crepes with homemade whipped cream and candles. Very tasty. Thank you Farmhouse Cafe and Creperie.

I decided to stop by for a pre holiday brunch with the kiddies. The staff was welcoming ( super family friendly) and the food was super fresh AND cooked to perfection! A def MUST and a great ADDITION to eateries here in SoMD. Super chill vibes and great food portions!

The dinners for the Valentine's Day special were delicious! We highly recommend that you check out this quaint new place in La Plata, Maryland. Our server was very nice as well.

We had a larger than average group so called the day before and made a reservation. Upon arrival, we were instantly greeted and seated. Very friendly staff and lively environment. Food took a little longer than expected but again, we were a large group. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. Great service.

Food 10/10, service 10+++/10, ambiance 10/10. I truly loved this little restaurant. It's super cute like a farmhouse and everyone who works here is very sweet and kind like "home" type feeling. It's farmhouse but modern. I liked all the decor. We got pancakes, sausage gravy, bacon egg cheese biscuit sandwich and sweet teas. Everything was perfect! We wandered in without checking hours at 1:30pm not realizing they close at 2pm but no one rushed us. They made us feel so welcome. That was generous of them. Next time, and there will be plenty of next times, we will show up earlier. Anyway, eat here! You won't regret it. I saw someone else get a turkey club and wow it looked good! This has quickly become one out of favorite places! They handle the rushes very well and everyone is attentive and kind! The atmosphere is that similar to a diner and doesn't get too loud despite the open floor plan. Their crepes are amazing and everything is very well priced! Highly recommend!

This place was an unexpected wonderful surprise. It looks like a house that was converted into a restaurant. Upon entering, we were welcomed as if we were family. The other customers were just as friendly. This is a great place to solo dine as there were many individuals in there doing just that. The place is beautifully decorated. The inspirational messages along the walls brightened our day. Now to the best part: the food! The pancakes and savory crepes are huge! I had the turkey avocado crepe and it was one of the best crepes I have ever had. The produce they used was fresh and crisp. I will definitely be back to try their other crepes but also to try the cookies. They looked delicious.

Great food, comfortable atmosphere! Definitely a must try. I had the biscuits and gravy, best I've had in a long time! Gravy had really good flavor and the biscuits were fluffy but not too big. Hubby had the club sandwich and really enjoyed that as well. We topped it off with a turtle cheesecake crepe that was amazing!

The food was delicious! We had savory crepes. They are large...my leftovers were delicious even the next day. They don't take reservations but our wait was only 15-20 minutes on a Sunday morning...well worth the wait. It has a really cute farm thing in the decor.

Farmhouse is awesome. I've been to this establishment 4 times to far and I'm never disappointed. The service is top notch and they get you seated quickly on busy days. The food is so awesome, I still have yet to try a crepe. There is so much to choose from. Keep it going!

If you are looking for really good food in a family friendly restaurant this is your place. The waiters are friendly as well. This was our first time coming here and I will most definitely be back with my family. Really really enjoyed this place. I pray that it does not change with time as some newly open restaurants tend to do.
