After seeing a lot of people mentioning this place on FB we decided it was finally time to go check them out. Glad we did!
We went for brunch around noon on a Saturday and they were very busy!
They recently moved to a new location from what I’ve read and the map took us to the wrong address. No big deal we found it on Old potato road off 290.
The property is absolutely gorgeous and looks like a very nice wedding venue & church as well. Nice large pond, the owner mentioned I should have brought my fishing pole with me, I might take him up on that next time!
The entrance gate is well marked with the Farmhouse restaurant sign. No sign on the building so look for the gate. Long gravel drive that’s well kept. Plenty of gravel parking that was fine even with the recent rain. Actual main building entrance is around front facing the pond. Many folks were entering the back handicap wheelchair entrance which is closer to the parking lot. There’s a few rustic wooden arrow signs posted pointing to use main entrance.
Staff and the owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming even with them having a pretty full house. We were quickly seated as soon as a table opened up. There was minimal decor but it was clean Texas farmhouse themed as well as having a stage and the cross for church service on Sunday. Overall it had a very comfortable relaxing atmosphere even with how busy they were.
The waitress was very quick to refill our drinks and take our order. They were incredibly busy and likely need just a few more tables there. We ordered fried pickles to start, they were fantastic and made perfectly. It took about 30 minutes to get the rest of our food but it was worth the wait, we got the Breakfast sandwich and The Farmer plate and they really hit the spot!
Eggs were cooked to perfection! Everything appeared to be from scratch and made fresh from what I could tell. Be patient as these folks here were working hard bringing out fresh and hot plates!
We got the bill and was shocked at how affordable it was, I even mentioned to the owner it’s 2023 and with inflation most restaurants as nice as this charge more than just $2 for a drink with refills. He was proud to admit they keep their prices as low as they can afford to. Very genuine guy from what I could tell. I made up for it by giving a generous tip to the waitress as she deserved every bit of it.
We will absolutely be back and hope this restaurant has many years of continued success!
