Daniel Boulud’s One Vanderbilt Seafood Restaurant Le Pavillon Opens in May | Eater NY

"I note that the Fat Radish, a longtime Lower East Side restaurant and trendy hangout with British influences, closed after a decade-long run last August and will be replaced." - Tanay Warerkar

"Fat Radish opened its newly renovated doors on June 11, 2019. Chef Nick Wilber focuses on locally sourced ingredients while adding a higher level of dining near the city market. Try the green peanut hummus to share before enjoying the flounder almondine. Fat Radish is open for brunch, lunch, and dinner." - Barbara Skidmore

We are staying in the area for a couple of days and this restaurant was recommended by our host. We were able to be seated right away with a party of 6. We started off with the spicy crab cakes and the Calamari. Oh my goodness these were delicious. Our kids ordered the pizza and mac and cheese and they enjoyed them as well. My husband and I ordered the Trio to share and the ravioli. The tenderloin and the salmon was just divine. Definitely an amazing first stop in our Washburn stay!

Delicious, real food (check out the Rey Burger!) with a bunch of gluten free (favorite: tacooos) and vegan options. Amazing desserts (favorite: hand pies 🤩) at a really reasonable price. The mocktails are too good. All of the staff are great; David is fantastic and super suave. They also wrap up things really well for take-out and picnics. All in all just a really solid choice for a date, family date, or any type of night out.

While up in this neck of the woods I was hoping to find a nice place for whitefish. I succeeded! This was a very cozy spot, with excellent service and a great fish fry!

We love having brunch at The Fat Radish. Their menu is so creative. We had the Prime Rib Hash and the Fig + Pig Grilled Cheese. Don’t miss the Boody Mary! Service was great.

My friends and I had a wonderful meal at the Fat Radish. From appetizers to dessert every bite was delicious. They were extremely accommodating for my friend with celiac. The cocktails were just as fun as the food options. Definitely a great experience from beginning to end.

We stopped in at 7:50pm to celebrate a birrhday. Was able to get a table as a walk-in. Little wait didn't seat until 8:05pm. We were provided delicious bread and water while we waited for server. By the time the waiter arrived the bread was gone. At a meager pace it was eaten. We order beverages and our meal as we could tell wait staff was overextended. Drinks came in and were very off. The mojito I ordered was very minty and felt very off in flavoring. My partners mule was very much lime in taste. For the quality the price was about $2 or $3 dollars too high from menu. After receiving bills I was charged an additional $3 for Bacardi I never requested. Pretty shady. Our salads were delivered and were exquisite if there is one thing I can say "This restaurant did right on all things that were not the main focus". The salad was warm from the plate and was magnificent. When our food finally arrived it was 30 minutes after our salads were taken. My flat iron steak was cold, the potatoes were additionally cold. The steak had multiple cuts to it and the heat escaped. The asparagus and carrot were fantastic. My partner got the short ribs. We expected the ribs to be bone on, they were not. They were served very dry with a sauce to dip and the meat was again cold. The artichoke and the Mac and Cheese were amazing. Sadly the sides could not save the meal for us. The meal was approximately $100. Will not return but you will gain a wonderful story.

This was not our first dining experience at the fat radish, but will probably be our last. We have had hit and miss experiences with both food and service, but in 2024 it seemed that the move to Washburn had included improvements on both fronts. Sadly, last night proved Otherwise. While we waited for a table at the bar, it took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and the bartender then stop taking our order multiple times to divert to other tasks. Once she managed to take our order, it took her over 20 minutes to make three drinks one at a time very slowly. The drinks were not very tasty and the drink menu overwhelmingly relied on vodka and syrups leaving few cocktails on the menu. When we were finally seated at a table, we waited for a server for sometime. The water in our niece jar glasses tasted a bleach. The server who eventually arrived was rude and did not tell us what the special was without being asked if one existed. We then waited for over an hour for our food while our salad plate sat uncleared, and no one came to see if we needed more water or wish to order Another drink. The food itself was acceptable, but hardly worth the elevated prices. The vegetables in one dish appeared to come from a bag in their shape and texture. Every step of the meal was slow, not in a leisurely, generous and paste way, but in a sense of abandonment. The prices are high, but the quality and service hardly merit such prices. Even when we received the check, it sat uncollected for nearly half an hour before we finally went to the front to pay so that we could escape. The fat radish does not appear to care about its customers’ experience. It is a start contrast to Good Thyme, which offers outstanding food and service in a truly welcoming and vibrant atmosphere at similar prices.

Oh boy! Stopped in here October 3rd for lunch. Great food, great service. we walked in the door just as they were getting ready for dinner service and were nice enough to let us have lunch. Our table had homemade pot pie, Cuban mojito in a bowl, white fish tacos, and homemade mac and cheese. The homemade pot pie I had was in a bowl, fresh crust, black beans, red cabbage and pork!
