The Fed at The Langham, Boston offers a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. Our orders were made as requested and served in a timely manner. Full Review: Located at The Langham, Boston, The Fed offers a delightful dining experience with its nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. The restaurant lives up to its description as a British-inspired cocktail bar with a sophisticated New England twist. On our visit, we found the surrounding environment to be pleasant, reflecting the quality settings that The Langham is known for. The Fed, much like the hotel's Grana, provides an inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the lobster roll, burger, and steak frites, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. Our orders were made as requested and served in due time, showcasing the kitchen's quality and attention to detail. While we did encounter a minor issue with the hostess, the situation was quickly addressed and rectified by the management. The quality customer service we received in resolving this matter was commendable, and we appreciated the professionalism displayed by the staff. Overall, our experience at The Fed was enjoyable, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in Boston. The combination of a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonable service makes The Fed a worthy dining destination. 4/5.

stopped in for a quick drink while i was in town. i loved my drink, it had cucumber and was very refreshing. i wished the bartenders couldve been a bit more personable as i was the first and only person in the bar for awhile. the money theme is cute and decor was gorgeous.

Located within the Langham hotel, I had a wonderful meal at the Fed. The restaurant is stunningly beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the food was really good. I had some of the best oysters ever. Needless to say, I highly recommend the Fed if you're looking for a nice sophisticated drink and/or a quick meal in the lounge or at the bar. This place is top-notch!

I loved visiting The Fed, everyone made me feel welcomed! I probably came every single day while I was in Boston but wow the ambiance is amazing! The drinks are so incredibly delicious! This bar reminded me so much of the Ritz (Rattlesnake bar) in Dallas! I loved it so much!

Beautiful space. Feels intimate with velvet benches and interesting art on the walls. Beautiful square bar with friendly and competent service. Try the three cheese and mustard toastie. It got eaten before I could take a picture. It’s a fancy and delicious grilled cheese. Nice cocktail list and wine list. Great oasis when downtown

✨ambience: classic and quite. relaxing environment. 🍸drink : ordered dirty martini, fun guy(cocktail with lamgham boston single barrel rye, cognac, sherry, candy cap mushroom and black walnut) and margarita. Their margarita had a great balance of sweet, acid and booze. drinks came with snacks. 💁🏻‍♀️would I revisit this place? Yes - a decent place for drinks before/after dinner.

Was visiting a friend in Boston for the weekend and they suggested that we go here and I'm so happy we did! The hotel itself is gorgeous and The Fed is equally as nice. I was really happy with the cocktails that we ordered. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful when I wanted to order a custom drink that wasn't on the menu. Also, I highly recommend the charcuterie board with cheese! Will definitely come back next time we're in town!

Doesn’t matter if this place is dead or slammed the service is almost always bad however the food is definitely good and convenient to the hotel so I keep coming back when in town however it was so bad today that I’m leaving this review in hopes of getting better training or staff because I had to leave and go find another place which is not ok for a hotel guest. Ended up around the corner at finpoint which has a better environment and equally as good food if not better. 6pm sat half the place open but told no tables available so grabbed a seat at the bar. Sat at the bar for almost 15 minutes while the service bartender never looked up (however was busy making service drinks) and the only other bartender moved at a snails pace even though the bar was busy. She didn’t look at me or acknowledge me once but served the 2 people to my left that sat 5 min after me and took on all new guests after me opposite side of the bar. This girl was moving without a care in the world and clueless to her environment. I asked a server and the bar back twice to order food and kept getting told the bartender would be right with me. Never happened. Complained to the host on the way out who also seemed lost as to what was going on. This bartender was taking drink orders and then not making them and taking on other guests fighting for her attention. Maybe a bad day for her not sure but not acceptable for a place of this caliber and no manager in sight. This place was not run well today and hasn’t been in the past. Get a manager on the floor that can recognize a busy bar & hop back & help. Please fix. 🤮

Yelp
Stayed here for my husband's business trip. The Langham is a 5 star hotel located conveniently in downtown. Upon entering their lobby, I was not impressed. I thought it would be grand considering the price of staying here per night. However, the staff more than made up for the underwhelming lobby area. Our room was spacious with large windows, impeccable clean bathroom and a coffee bar, which I liked the most! They have a Nespresso machine! Yey! The bed is firm yet comfortable, we definitely slept well. The hotel's location is fantastic, within walking distance of iconic spots like Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Overall, it's really a great place to stay if you have the budget.

Yelp
The Boston Langham Hotel is stunning during the holidays, with magical decorations and a cozy festive vibe. Club Lounge access is a must, but opt for a room upgrade that includes it for the best value--it's worth it for sure! All executive and suite rooms include club. Make sure to check out their gorgeous restaurant Grana for brunch and Fed for HH! Pro Tip: Book through Amex fine resorts and hotels and you get a serious amount of credits to use around the hotel.

Yelp
So much history in this building. Great location. Truly one of the best breakfast rooms I have ever dined in. The food over the top amazing. I stayed at this hotel for business purposes, and I was struck by the exquisite beauty of the rooms. The high-end linens, elegant finishes, and comfortable bed made my stay truly enjoyable. The front desk staff and the door attendants were exceptionally friendly. Their warmth brightened my mornings, always offering assistance and holding doors open for me.

Yelp
I was scheduled to travel to this property for a one night stay but came down with the flu and was unable to travel. American Express, who I booked the stay through, called the hotel on the day of the scheduled stay (when I assume the hotel was not fully committed) to ask if I could receive a future credit or refund and the hotel refused. I've never had such an experience with a 5 star property for a situation outside of one's control. Never staying at a Langham property again.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful architecture, interior design, furniture, original artwork. We ate and drank at both the fed and grana and it was all delicious, amazing service. Hotel staff was all wonderful and kind. The bed and bedding and towels were all great and they have dyptique body lotion which I'm obsessed with. The gym has a good selection of equiptment. Walking distance from lots in Boston.

Yelp
I love the Langham hotel. I was stayed Langham hotel in Manhattan before and I was fall in love with this hotel. I was so happy to stay here while traveling in Boston with my friend and my dog. Great location. Easy to get anywhere downtown Boston also easy to walked with my dog too. Pretty room and super clean. But a bit small room compared to manhattan Langham hotel. Maybe I choose small room. I really enjoyed stay here and would love to stay again when I travel to Boston again.

Yelp
This is a beautiful and classy hotel in an old federal building in a great part of town. Nice ambiance, decor, polite staff and beautiful rooms with comfy beds and pillows. The executive lounge on the 8th floor is wonderful if you have access like I did bc they serve all meals there and you can order from the other hotel restaurants and have it in a more exclusive and private setting if you need to do work or relax. Grana and The Fed - the two restaurants in the hotel are delicious. I had wonderful breakfast and brunch service 3 days in a row at Grana trying many different things, all excellent. My husband and I had a nice, quiet Sunday dinner at The Fed. Staff are absolutely excellent. Check-in was easy, all issues handled quickly, pillows delivered to the room, turndown and their messaging app and online menus are all easy to use and find. Wi-fi was fast and easy. The gym and pool are very nice... all-in-all I was thoroughly pleased with this beautiful hotel. My main issue is the sound proofing of the rooms - which was mentioned by another reviewer. It's entirely accurate - you can hear every single thing that happens in the hallway outside... I was unlucky enough to be at the end of a hall right beside the gym on the 4th floor and directly beside the employee hallway/elevator. It was SO loud bc you can hear everything. I was there for a B.A.A. race and had to wake up early so this sucked when trying to sleep/relax. They need to do something about the doors/soundproofing. Excited to try this new chain in the cities in which it is located now - I loved it almost as much as the FS.

Yelp
Magical is an understatement. From check in to check out the hotel staff was amazing. The room was impeccable and the bed was amazing. I slept so well and for me that is rare.. I loved the lighting and the closet in the room with the lights was gorgeous. The Grana was amazing and I had to have another lobster roll before I left I had room service send one up my last day before leaving for the airport. I love the chandeliers in the Grana and the original floor from the federal reserve. The cocktails at the Fed were delightful. The pool and workout room were just enough and everything was well maintained. One of my favorite parts of the hotel were the flowers and small touches like the pink pens and pink pillows on the patio. All of the little things add up and add to the experience. It was our first trip to Boston and we can't wait to come back and bring the kids for the Paddington experience.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've stayed at hands down. The details in everything and the customer service is top notch. Such a kind staff. They go out of their way to go above and beyond. Anna Maria in the kitchen paid special attention to my breakfast order and made sure I received it on time one morning I had a tight schedule. The beds are so comfortable and housekeeping is great too. Can not wait to stay again.

Yelp
"Langham Hotels are excellent. My stay at The Langham in Manhattan, NY was outstanding! The Boston location was also excellent, but did not quite live up to the detailed service of the NY location. However, it was still fabulous, and if you receive the Club Dining service, it definitely makes up for the lack of complimentary water left in our executive suite. My only complaint was that every day I had to call room service for water. Housekeeping never left us water, and there was no bottled water provided in my suite upon arrival."

Yelp
Thank you for the excellent customer service I received from Joselyn at The Langham! I needed to work out some things with my reservation and she was kind, courteous, and patient as she found our booking. Thank you Langham for making us feel like valued customers!

Yelp
We recently stayed at the gorgeous Langham Hotel. We had an unforgettable time in the beautiful city of Boston. Our stay here (at The Langham) was just as unforgettable as the city itself. Not only is the hotel stunning, the top notch service we received from Alex in the Langham club and Michael, the manager of the Langham club was nothing we have ever experienced. We felt so taken care of and seen. We look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Such a great experience on our Boston trip. Can't wait to visit again! Breakfast was amazing and staff just made it so welcoming.

Yelp
***NO CLASS, RACIST, TRASHY, UNPROFESSIONAL HOTEL MANAGERS -- Do not go here. *** I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. I do not recommend you dine or stay here as their customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Where do I start... Their restaurant manager, Alex is extremely unprofessional and rude. He led my party of 6 and I to an empty table that had no place settings, no menus, no silverware. He then says, "I will be right back, don't sit down yet until I wipe the table." He then disappeared and never came back. We literally just stood there waiting in the middle of the restaurant. Finally, a host comes over and instead of assisting us he rudely asks if we have a reservation. I made sure he was aware that Alex had led us here, and said he would be back. However, Alex never came back which caused a lot of confusion within their staff. Instead of resolving the matter, he had us uncomfortably stand there in the middle of the restaurant and it caused a scene that could have easily been avoided. To make matters worse. Just as we were finally seated, the host comes back over for a final time and asks us if we have a reservation... Keep in mind, the restaurant was empty. No one was dining there at "The Fed" (A restaurant in their hotel). We then kindly asked, "Do we need a reservation?" The host then rudely snapped back and said, "No, I am just making sure." The interaction was very odd and uncomfortable. It was as though our presence alone was not welcome. This completely tainted our dining experience especially since Alex, the restaurant manager is the one who brought us to this specific table in the first place. Now I am not the one to bring up the race card, as I find it to be a cop out in most arguments. However the people I had with me were all of brown skin. We are all professional Bostonians meeting for business, dressed in business attire -- and still treated as though we were not human, not welcome, not allowed. Finally, when we thought things were beginning to run smoothly, the waiter forgot to bring one of our guest's meals. We have a party of 6, and all guests were served except for one. This would not be a big deal if they quickly rectified the situation, however her meal was not served until we had all finished eating. The waiter did not even apologize at first. I had to bring this to his attention that this was unacceptable. Had I not told him we were unhappy, he would have gladly carried on knowing our guest had to watch us all eat. After our troubling experience, I called to speak with the hotel manager. He is even more unprofessional than all of the hotel staff that he governs. When I told him about our experience and how the staff was rude, forgot one of our meals. His response was, "This isn't the establishment for you." Not only that but he did not believe anything I told him. The interaction with him was quite bizarre. I personally have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and when a customer tells you they didn't receive their meal -- you believe them. He proudly did not. In disbelief I asked him for his name so I could keep record of this awful experience, he refused to provide his name. People of Boston reading this, I don't advise you spend your hard-earned money in a place where the staff cannot provide their name. How can you trust someone who is nameless? How can you eat somewhere, where the people making your food are nameless? I am repulsed. If you are looking for a place to stay in Boston that is respectful, has class, and will treat you like a human being go to the Fairmont Copley or The Four Seasons. I will be letting everyone know on all social media accounts to avoid this place at all costs. For these prices and this type of low-class service? They won't last long here in Boston... Maybe stay in London.

Yelp
So I'll preface by saying that luxury travel is my one favorite thing this lifetime. We work very hard to be able to afford the finer things and do enjoy splurging especially for special occasions. We've always done the Mandarin Oriental when traveling so we decided to do The Langham for our Boston anniversary trip. We were welcomed during check-in and were allowed to check-in early. We were also extended a complimentary upgrade to the Premier room at the top floor as part of our rate. The rate we paid as American Express Platinum card holders was close to $1600 for 3 nights which came with club lounge access and daily breakfast at GRANA if we wanted to. Also came with complimentary pressing of 3 items through the club lounge so that came handy. The room was great though smaller and that didn't come as a surprise seeing they had to do with what they did from the former Federal Reserve bank (which btw how cool is that?). The bathroom was small but loved the rain shower and water pressure. I wish the Chuan Spa brand of amenities were still available, instead we had C.O. Bigelow which we love anyway, we actually have some of their products at home. I personally loved the little corner chair behind the slanted windows with the beautiful skylight and personally enjoyed sitting there wrapped in I forgot if that was a merino wool sheet. So cozy. And the robes were comfortable. We loved the perfect room temperature that can be adjusted and the most incredible King bed. My husband and I slept like babies each night. Housekeeping was also on point but forgot to refill amenities one day and turndown service only happened on our last night which was a bummer, I wish they were more consistent. The Club Lounge was what made the stay better. It was great to wake up late and see what breakfast offerings were available and they had eggs, bacon, sausage and french toast. Coffee and bottles of fresh orange juice were available to. After a day of going around Boston, it was also pretty nice to just see what light snacks and drinks were available before dinner. We saw a small but quality spread of cold cuts and cheese, shrimp, and crab. Both alcohol and non-alcohol drinks were available and I enjoyed the Tattinger Champagne. I was personally pleased that they didn't compromise on the brand. There were also pretty good bottles of wine from Napa which my husband enjoyed. While it's self-service, there were a few lounge attendants and staff who made sure the place was running well. We had the pleasure of meeting Dorian, the Club Lounge Supervisor who we enjoyed talking to and took great care of us. One night when we came in later than usual and there were no more champagne available, Dorian did open a bottle for me. Loved the personal touch, he was awesome and he was kind. Also sent very nice recommendations for our anniversary dinner, some of which gives us a good reason to come back. GRANA for breakfast was quite a visual treat. The restaurant and all the artwork was beautiful. We thought they'd allocate for hotel guests so just walked in one morning and they almost couldn't sit us because they were busy on weekends. They did come through. The next time we went I made sure I reserved via Open Table and it was a breeze. We also did enjoy the pancakes here. We had a $125 property credit to use so we ordered room service. We ordered bolognese for almost $40 (so.bland and dry it practically didn't have sauce), burger (this one was decent), fries (okay), chicken tenders (better) and supposedly a freshly baked chocolate cookie (it wasn't, stale and crispy). The $7 diet coke cans were the mini ones btw and you'd think they'd at least bring you a pitcher of water. So this is the part where we felt it was subpar as a luxury brand. This is one area where I felt they should seriously improve on. In summary, I do recommend if you'd like to splurge and celebrate. Some of the staff were warm and wonderful while some couldn't be bothered lol. Either way, we wouldn't mind coming back and hopefully coming back to the same wonderful service. :)

Yelp
Overpriced given the uneven quality. Rooms vary significantly in size within the same room rate, with some bizarrely shaped. And have had hot water issues in the mornings during peak shower times (7-8am ish) resulting in lukewarm miserable showers. Sometimes it's a 5/5 if you happen to get a great room with great plumbing. But for the price, you would expect consistent high quality if you're paying around $600-$700 per night. Sheets and bed are always a 5/5. Staff is lovely and polite.

Yelp
Post Renovation.!!!! Last year I stayed one night at the Hotel in a Deluxe room. With Amex Platinum benefits, I received a room upgrade, daily breakfast for 2, a $125 dining credit, and access to the Langham Lounge that I believe they are giving everyone access to. Parking: To start, I checked in late in the evening and utilized the parking garage across the street that has $9 weekend parking per day! A great alternative to the $60 Valet parking at the hotel :( Check-in / Room: Check-in was easy and the room was nice! Nothing incredible but a nicely renovated room! However, the shades for the room were not working when I arrived and that turned into a 20 minute fix by the maintenance person. The Lounge: The lounge was without a doubt the best part of my experience! The liquor selection was great and the snacks/ meals were filling. The lounge is a great place to hang out and do work. The only thing that was little bothersome was that both at night and in the morning I was asked multiple times what my room number and name was. Being in my mid-twenties the staff kind of made me feel out of place at times. To my knowledge, no one else was asked. Dinning: I used my $125 dining credit at the Fed Contail Pub. I had great drinks with friends and a fantastic burger! In the morning I ate at the lounge early and then had breakfast with my friend at Gran. Overall Grana was disappointing, the venue is very interesting yet the food/ coffee was nothing special. Also like a Larry David episode, the table they put us at had a horrible wobble and we had to move ourselves once we got our food. The waiter saw that we moved and apologized for the table, which made me wonder why they sat us there in the first place?? Overall: The renovation was needed and a good investment! The pool and gym has still not been opened which is a bummer (as of review). Overall, the hotel definitely appeals to an older crowd and I will be staying somewhere else next time.

Yelp
We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary this summer and it was fabulous. The service was great in every way as was the room. They made it even more special with a massive cheese and fruit plate, wine and rose petal/turndown service. Convenient location. Highly recommend, especially if you book through Amex Final Hotels and get breakfast in the Grana restaurant included!

Elizabeth S S.

Yelp
It is a nice enough hotel. Lovely spaces and decor. The staff we found to be friendly and gracious. However we felt that noise was an issue we simply could not get past. Given that they just renovated the hotel...they should have addressed the noise issue between rooms...especially ones with adjoining doors...our first night we had no neighbors so it was quiet...but our second night we had neighbors and we got to hear every word they spoke and every noise they made (and I mean every noise) well past 3-4 am in the morning. If they had been drunk and yelling that would have been one thing...but the neighbors were within normal talking volume ...it was as if they were actually in the room with us....and when they got on to "other business" ...our child got to hear that too....not cool. We are not picky people...but because this hotel had made no effort in its renovation to deal with noise..it was a little like staying in a Holiday Inn that had been adorned with marble bathrooms and fluffy linens...in the end those things are like lipstick on a pig....probably will move on to a different hotel in the city that understands the real root of luxury.

Yelp
We've statyed at Four Seasons a lot, but are starting to love the Langham just as much. It was very very nice, impeccable service, lovely view, nice restaurant. Everything was just so, and the in room robe and towels were best in class. The concierge batted 1.000 setting us up with great restaurants nearby, making the reservations, and in one case a complimentary car service to take us there

Alex G.

Yelp
Such a beautiful, grande dame of a hotel. From the moment you walk in, you recognize the elegance and class of this established hospitality experience. And yes, it's very expensive. Friendly, if only decent service, with beautifully appointed and unique rooms. The club (on club level) was terrific, with great champagne, numerous appetizers and snacks, and friendly assistance. A few missteps, however, did combine to knock off a star. First, the water in the shower didn't get above lukewarm. We called for maintenance, which they promised to send "right up" (we had a dinner to attend), but, alas, it wasn't quick. Finally had to cold-ish shower since they hadn't shown up and time was running out. As an aside, almost no water pressure - and my wife hates low pressure showers. Second, they nicely had a bowl of fruit and a large bottle of water in our room, but no glasses? No knife to cut the fruit? Seemed a bit unpolished, which isn't like this hotel. Third, I came up from being out and found two unknown dresses - gowns - in my closet. I come to find out that the staff had delivered dresses to the wrong room. As if that wasn't enough, the next morning at 7:30am they woke us up, knocking, asking if we had ordered chairs to our room. No, we hadn't. But thanks for waking us up. Again, management should be on top of important details like these. (As an aside, they put us next to what appeared to be a bridal suite, which erupted into full-on loud talking and hair blow drying also at around 7:30 in the morning. Not good - and not sure why they would put us in that room, and not someone from the wedding party.) On a positive side, the air conditioning blew freezing cold (which we absolutely love), and the bed was warm and comfortable. The room was cozy but well-appointed, although no mini bar; a bit of a disappointment. Yes, the club has drinks, but when you're in your robe and you don't want to go anywhere, it's a nice touch to have a mini bar with drinks and snacks in your room. Overall, a richly decorated hotel with service a step below the top accommodations.

Yelp
One of the best stays I have ever had. Came here 4 nights this past week and from start to finish it was a great experience. I really have to commend their superb service, anytime we needed something we called down and they were able to get something up to us within minutes. The turndown service is great every night, they refilled with water bottles, chocolates and set slippers near bedside. I really enjoyed the Fed which was a bar in the hotel and Grana which was the in house restaurant.

Philip W.

Yelp
Unethical lying staff. Tried to gouge for room upgrade. Heat does not work. Stay elsewhere.

Ally R.

Yelp
Elegant hotel close to everything fun! Club level lounge was definitely worth the price, and the entire staff was attentive & helpful.

Yelp
My husband and I consider ourselves hotel snobs. We stayed here seven nights. We leave with regrets tomorrow. Class, elegant finishes, impeccable service, The Langham Boston is all that and much more. At least a week prior to our arrival the concierge see oh concierge, Maeve spoke with both my husband and I about our interests. She scheduled tours and restaurant and other, reservations. Upon arrival, and without asking we were upgraded to an executive suite. Opening the doors to our suite, I got tears. Not only is the suite gorgeous but on the table is a fresh bouquet a bottle of champagne on ice, a bowl of fruit and a lovely strawberry cheese cake. Two envelopes, one with a handwritten welcome note from Maeve and the other, a two page typed itinerary. We travel at least twice a year, mostly internationally. Nowhere have we ever experienced this level of service. The reception desk staff is exceptional. Darby, James, Thomas, all kind and helpful but one in particular, took impressive to a new level. His name is Salim. We were scheduled to travel to Cape Cod but my husband's throat was really bothering him. At 2 AM Bob went to a pharmacy and got my husband what did Bob get you at the pharmacy and got him medication. That is devotion to duty. Cape Cod weather forecast was for rain the week ahead. Cancellation would cost us dearly. At the front desk, Salim called the manager at the hotel on the cape and explained the situation, impressing on the manager that withholding a refund would reflect poorly. We received a full refund, thanks to Salim. Life is a roller coaster and we never know how long the ride will last, or the perils that lurk around the corner, but being treated like royalty, at a fine hotel is a true joy and a life time memory. Thank you to everyone at the Langham Hotel Boston

Vincent J.

Yelp
Excellent food and service, and I am glad their kitchen is one of the few in Boston that is open late!

Namir K.

Yelp
The langham is only 10 min from the airport. Yet it is centrally located. The impression when you come in the lobby is that the hotel is definitely a luxury property: shiny marble everywhere, staff in smart grey suits and that particular smell that indicates "upscale "( some perfume through the AC). Giovanni at the reception was great: he gave me a complementary upgrade without me asking ( nice touch and pretty rare nowadays). The room was spacious, quiet and the furniture old school but not worn out ( like some other reviews have mentioned): it does have its charm and a nice contrast to some of the funky all too common minimalistic rooms . The bathroom is large and clean and overall the room is pleasant and worth it. I definitely would recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I have been attending my company's holiday party at the Langham for years and I am upset that we have to relocate during this year's renovation. The Langham has always done a terrific job for us. The facility itself is hard to beat. High ceilings and a classic decor add up to a relaxed yet professional ambiance that is a perfect fit for a corporate event. Also the service is on top of their game. The food is top of the line too. Every year I look forward to lobster bisque and every year I sure as heck get it. Other comfort foods make my plate too, such as a rich macaroni and cheese (simple things done right!). I am looking forward to 2020 already!

Yelp
Stayed at the Langham for a week. The hotel is beautifully remodeled and the service was great. Because it's a historic building, the room was small.

Yelp
Would have been a five star review BUT the manager at the downstairs bar was super rude and brushed me off like I was a homeless person asking for money. This was my birthday weekend and upon arriving back to the hotel later that evening, we wanted to get a quick drink at the downstairs bar to take back up to the room (mind you the drinks are $25+ per with tip). Anyhow, I guess they were expecting a large party so they were not accepting anyone else into the bar area (understandable), again we just wanted to get a quick drink to bring back up to the room. When the door man asked this "manager", (a very simple task) this manager didn't even have the decency to lift his head when replying to the doorman, he was told a flat NO and to relay "order room service". For a langham property this was very off-putting, unexpected and extremely unprofessional. This person so called "manager" should not be working in a five star environment, period!! This ruined my entire experience/night which again would have been five star. I'm still so pissed off!!

Yelp
I stayed here for a single night a couple of Monday's ago. My companies marketing department made the arrangements here for me and so I had no part in picking The Langdon as a place to stay but I certainly thought it was nice. I arrived to the hotel at around 5:30 PM and the check in process was a breeze. The person that was helping me out had his own little podium and he went through all of the amenities they had like the gym and the spa. Unfortunately I wasn't around for long enough and only really used my room. It was a bit smaller than hotel rooms that I am used to (bigger than European rooms though) but I had to remind myself that we were in the heart of Boston. There was a king sized bed as well as a flat screen tv and a little area with a chair and desk. Whenever I sent my wife a picture of it she said it reminded her of something presidential which I agreed with. I think that it had to do with the blue curtains with gold trim. In any case the bed here was soft and I had no trouble sleeping and didn't hear any ancillary noise throughout the night. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I believe that the hotel was reasonably priced for its location and everything about it felt upscale and classy.

Yelp
Everything about this hotel was incredible. The staff that greeted us each time we came in and out made us feel welcome. The food and bar are top notch and we never had a bad meal or drink all three times we ate and drank there. The rooms that are clean and well stocked with everything you need including a espresso machine, lotions, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The bed, pillows and linens are some of the best I have slept on at any hotel I have ever stayed at. My only complaint which they did let us know about ahead of time was the valet wait times average was 15-20 minutes however the text system they gave us didn't work on the second day and we waited 40 minutes. Also it is only 15 minute walk to TD Garden which is a straight shot and about. 7-10 minute walk to Faneuil Hall which made for waking around the city very convenient. This is going to be the go to hotel every time we visit.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I just got back from a weekend staycation at the Langham in Boston. We both live in the Allston/Brighton area. Once we checked in and were on our way to our room, it did not feel like we were in Boston anymore, but in a special hideaway resort. All of the hotel staff were extremely warm, helpful and accommodating. The idea of a luxury hotel intimidated us at first, however there were certainly people and families from multiple walks of life that made the experience feel more inviting. We ordered room service twice for breakfast and dinner. It came quickly, it was hot and it tasted delicious. In the two days we did not run out of things to do, and definitely felt we could have stayed longer. We used the pool facilities twice which were clean and well heated. We were able to access the The Langham Lounge due to my boyfriend's Amex perk upgrades. It had self serve snacks, cocktails, charcuterie and coffee depending on the time of day. There are board games, magazines and books to read if that is your thing, but the time away from our phones was definitely much needed. I believe we had the Deluxe level of room, but I'm not sure. The television allows you to stream services from your phone which was incredibly convenient. The beds were SO comfortable and it had a luxurious rainfall shower as well. We stopped at the Fed to get drinks after checking out, and the vacation experience felt like it continued on until we stepped outside. Even though we only traveled about 20 minutes, the Langham was able to provide a well worth the money experience if you and your partner are looking to spend some quality time together. I cannot recommend staying here enough and we are looking to come back again.

Yelp
The Langham is a fantastic and upscale Boston hotel experience. In addition to the fantastic location and the warm welcome - the staff goes above and beyond in every interaction to make you feel welcome and at home. Our family enjoyed a multi-night stay at The Langham and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast experience in the restaurant, in our room, as well as in the Club. We were surprised with an unexpected gift on the third day of our stay. It was delicious and we thank you! The pool and fitness center were closed but they should be available again in a few months according to the staff. They did provide alternative arrangements to the Equinox next door which we didn't get a chance to take advantage of but was appreciated. Regarding masks and overall COVID-19 concerns, we were pleased with how everyone complied with mask requirements and felt the hotel was absolutely clean. We are looking forward to coming back to Boston next year and are enthusiastic about staying here again.

Yelp
We had a beautiful stay at the Langham. All of the staff and the concierge especially were friendly and helpful and we wanted for not during out stay. We enjoyed a delicious cheese board and a bottle of wine in our room, which was clean, comfortable, and spacious and provided a relaxing night's sleep. We would love to come back soon!

Yelp
If you LOVE tea and tea parties, you have to come and treat yourself!!! $50 is a little expensive but totally worth it! I arrived with a wee bit of an appetite so I was VERY pleased about what was on the menu. What I do like about the service was if you have allergies or didn't like sandwich they had no issues switching it out, they were very accommodating. The food was VERY filling. I would do this again and again and again. The tea is in the lobby area but it felt special and intimate.

Yelp
Nothing bad to be said about the Langham. Very nice/upscale, clean hotel with great rooms and an amazing staff. The staff downstairs helped me find places to go and gave me maps etc. to the St. Patrick's day parade. Definitely very helpful. This hotel also has a great location. It's very near a lot of the popular areas, so you don't have to walk far to get to many of the biggest draws in the city. Stay Cheerful ;)

Yelp
I have updated this review to further take into account the simply amazing staff at this hotel. Each one went above and beyond to make my stay excellent, the room service folks even memorized my daily breakfast and would ask if I wanted my usual and it would come to the room exactly the way I like it. The hotel is in a historic building so some things are old and clunky so it's no W but overall my stay was a good one. So far on my stay (day 4 of a two week stay), my coffee maker didn't work, the toilet handle broke, my shower pipe broke, a loud college kid was escorted out around midnight after it took security 20 minutes to get into his room and finally this morning I have been trying to reach room service for 10 minutes on my own and the Front Desk has been trying for another 5 (as of this writing I still have yet to be able to order breakfast).

Yelp
Very bright, classy, fun, and enjoyable atmosphere for lunch. They had fun drinks and the food was delicious!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful hotel. I had high hopes when I booked it because it has such great reviews on hotel sites and this hotel definitely delivered. Location is A+! Easy walking distance to all the hot-spots in Boston. Unfortunately it was the coldest weekend in history for that weekend when we came, so we had to Uber rather than walk, but ideal location non-the-less. It is beautiful and the staff is so pleasant and welcoming. It has a British theme outside and extremely classy and modern inside. We stayed here for an anniversary weekend and they really went above and beyond. Highly recommend it here.

Yelp
The afternoon tea was probably as average as it gets. The cold sandwiches were a bit dry and seemed to be very much premade. They likely were sitting in the walk-in cooler just as the jams, clotted cream and individual desserts were based on the temperature and consistency. The taste of all the food was fine but given the nearly $50 price tag per person, one would hope for something a little better. Each person received the following: 4 Savory - egg sandwich, salmon mousse, chicken salad and dill/cucumber 2 Scones - buttery but crunchy and brittle. Not quite the right consistency but the house made lemon curd, clotted cream and strawberry jam were scrumptious 4 Desserts - cinnamon apple parfait, chocolate cake, blueberry/lemon tart and strawberry cream puff

Yelp
The Langham: Hmmm. Not exactly what I had expected from this brand. I'm having trouble putting a finger on it. It's located in a convenient and fun area. Additionally, We enjoyed a drink in the lobby bar while I look forward to an evening at the dark, comfy, cool Bond Restaurant. When we arrived the doorman was friendly and helpful as were the front desk staff, but it went a bit downhill from there. Doorman said my rented Yukon would not fit so I needed to hit the public parking lot down and across the street. I get it...small city with big truck...but still a pain. I sent my lovely daughter and fabulous wife up to the room while the doorman said the bags would be up shortly. Fast forward 20 minutes when I had found the parking lot, maneuvered into the oh-so-small spaces, walked back up the driveway two sub levels from the lot, only to find my bags sitting where I had left them formerly attended but now unattended in the middle of the lobby. I grab the cart to do it myself when another bellman comes over as I'm about to pull the cart into the elevator to say that he'll bring them up. When I say "no thank you" he says it is required which leaves me slightly backed into a corner eliciting a slightly rude but highly necessary "then hustle up". Up to the room. Decor is very dated. Dust on every surface that is not a complete lay up. Top of the TV, on top of each lamp, top of each picture frame and doorsill. On the bright side the bathroom was very clean. The console clock has no charging ability after two minutes when your phone announces to you that the devices are no longer compatible. Other outlets are on the opposite side of the room from the beds so all our phones rested and charged on the far side of the room from the beds. (Note to self: do not pull the bed frame back from the wall in search of an outlet as the headboard will in fact detach itself from the wall. If you merely pull the mattress back, you'll see that the useless center console and lamp have occupied the lone plugins on this side of the room!) Speaking of beds...doubles. If they were to remove the sea foam green velour sofa queens would fit easily. Currently, I'm fascinated by the fact that in order to operate both the coffee maker and closet light one must switch on the light switch by the room door which in turn operates the hall light, standing lamp and overhead lights. Now I think I'll call this review the electrically challenged dowager! At the end of the day she's fine just too pricey for all the dusty.

Yelp
My husband and my annual Valentine's Day tradition is to go to a fancy afternoon tea. We had been going to L'Espalier for the last 5 or so years but found the service lacking in recent visits. We decided to try something new this year so we had afternoon tea at Wedgwood at The Langham on Valentine's Day this year. I really wanted to love it but ultimately, it was wholly disappointing. First, the Wedgwood is basically just the hotel lobby. It's open and noisy and not intimate at all. You can hear everyone coming and going (including screaming children) and the space was drafty and the noise carried loudly. Terrible ambiance even though the tables, furniture, and place settings are all lovely. Second, the service was forgettable. Everyone was nice but nothing was exceptional. It was just...ok. We weren't offered glasses of water, nothing from the bar, nothing but the tea menu. Really surprised by that. Major lack of attention to detail. Third, the tea itself. The Wedgwood boasts a large collection of teas in fine wooden boxes but I found it to be all show. None of the teas were special and they all smelled the same. If you are a loose tea connoisseur, like myself, you will not be impressed, or even happy, with the tea selection here (you'd fine better tea at Tealuxe or even David's Tea). There were no nuances, no finery, nothing that excited me at all. Also, and I think this was the offending blow, when I asked for more tea they just came around with hot water and poured over my spent tea. No! Just no. Unless it is a tea that can be steeped multiple times (like oolong, which my tea was not), you should not ever do that. And they did it three more times. Fourth, the food. It was fine but, again, really generic and uninspired. The presentation was lacking: everything was put on one plate and plopped in front of us. At least give us individual plates or put it on a tower or something. Also, I have a HUGE sweet tooth but the sweets portion of the menu was so sweet and buttery and cloying that I felt sick after a few bites. Finally, the menu/price. The website shows two menus at two price points ($36 for the regular tea service or $48 with champagne/rose). On Valentine's Day there was only one menu, for $55, no alcohol included. I was very disappointed and felt super ripped off, after all of the above. We left feeling fleeced and underwhelmed. The search continues for an upscale, elegant afternoon tea.

Yelp
Fabulous staff. The place is immaculate. Plush beds. Good fitness center. Less expensive parking in lot just across the street. The Fed is such a pretty bar, and the staff knows how to make a cocktail. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Made reservations online to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. When I made the reservation, I had asked for the best seating in the house since we will be celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, we were sat near the piano. As we finished our afternoon tea, there was a gentleman sitting on the piano. As he we playing a few keys to warm up, I have noticed that a gentleman walking towards our table with a mini birthday cake all lit up with a candle. All of a sudden, he started to play "happy birthday" on the piano and then the birthday cake was on our table. All I asked on my reservation was for the best seating in the house and not did I get that seat, they went in extra and brought out a cake and had a birthday song serenading to my GF on the piano. That is what I called an excellent service! They made us feel so special and spoiled. For that, I would love to give Langham a 10 stars and would definitely recommend this place to anyone that will be celebrating a birthday. They went an extra mile to make our birthday celebration special.

Yelp
On another trip to Boston to take care of some business, I had booked a deal through Expedia and got a great rate at The Langham for a weekend. At first I had no idea where it is was, then I finally found it. It is a pretty nice hotel- I like how the parking is covered so you do not have to worry about the extremities. My room was comfortable- it served its purpose. The bathroom had a phone in it as well (that is like the coolest thing haha). I would recomend this hotel for travelers or business people.

Yelp
Classic, sophisticated, elegance meets modern and innovative: Hotel Staff were courteous, attentive, and friendly. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Bath robes, slippers, and an Ipod docking station are provided. Beds are big and comfy. Spa and facilities are clean and well maintained. The hotel's restaraunt Bond - is amazing. Atmosphere is great, seating is comfy and spacious, and the FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! every dish was delicous (calamari, kobe beef, duck, scallops/ lobster, arranccini, sour cream ice cream, cheesecake ice cream- yes we ate alot!) strongly recommend all of the above. Great lication in the Financial District- walking distance to Fannuiel Hall/ Quincy Market, the North End, and Boston Common.

Yelp
I am a lover of the Langham chain, but this one is probably my least favorite thus far. The location is decent. You are very close to South Boston (I walked to the convention center, 20 minutes and easy), and you are very close to the great dining of the North End (Mike's Pastry!). When I checked in, as a 1865 member, I was offered the rooms on the second floor that actually have two levels. I wish I would have taken that room. When the front desk staff was explaining it, he suggested the room was not all that quiet (it is a noisy street area around the hotel, I would suggest a higher floor at the end of the day). So, I passed. I did get a deluxe room which was comfortable for me, but would have been tight with a guest. The rooms are dated. Clean, comfortable, but a little blah. No outlets near the bed, which at this point in our culture, is a problem. The gym is OK; needs some updates as well and the layout is poor. They need to rearrange the equipment to make it more friendly. The staff in the hotel is outstanding. The service is really what makes you love this hotel. I did love the Cafe on the 2nd floor for breakfast. Great food for a moderate price.

Julie B.

Yelp
Oh well, you can't win them all. We booked an anniversary weekend at the Langham, and after checking in and finding our room on the 2nd floor facing a giant construction site, we were already underwhelmed by their hospitality and concern for our celebratory weekend. No matter...we decided to make the most of it and enjoy the time. We were in a room with our 2 kids and the beds were TINY. Painfully so. I don't care WHAT they say about how amazing their beds are...they simply aren't. Decent shower, relatively quiet (thankfully they didn't do construction on the holiday weekend) but the neighborhood for a weekend visit was a disappointment. Just about everything decent was a 10-15 minute walk away (except for Kane's donuts, which were excellent and nearby). We are walkers so it isn't something we normally would complain about, but it was disappointing to check yelp for placed to get a decent coffee nearby and have one after another be closed for the weekend. The $50 parking was avoided by following the signs to the public parking right as you turn into the hotel - $10 for overnight and weekend parking. We did enjoy some clam chowder in the hotel's cafe and had a nice afternoon drink in the Bond bar (which was STUNNING and the drinks, while not particularly inventive, were nice and strong), but overall, I wish we'd booked elsewhere. I recommend you consider other options, particularly if you are planning to share a room with children...the beds were far too small to share.
