Living at The Felix was honestly one of the worst renting experiences I’ve ever had... I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and they will try to take advantage of you.
Halfway through my lease, management raised my rent by $300, saying that my “two months free” promotion had expired—even though that was part of the deal when I signed my lease. It felt completely misleading and unfair. Every time I traveled out of town for work, I somehow ended up with random charges or fees on my account. On top of that, they would not allow online rent payments and required cashier’s checks only, which made things incredibly difficult when I wasn’t in town. There was zero flexibility or consideration.
While I was out of town, a friend was watching my dog (who is extremely quiet and rarely ever barks). During that time, I received a seven-day eviction notice, saying that if my dog wasn’t “fixed” and if I didn’t move everything out within seven days, anything left would become their property. It was genuinely stressful and shocking. When I later followed up, the office claimed they never sent the notice at all and suggested it had been faked—even though it was presented as an official warning.
What made this even more frustrating is that when I complained about a neighbor whose dog barked constantly, management initially told me they had addressed it—then later denied ever doing anything. My car was also towed without warning during a medical emergency. Management denied authorizing the tow and blamed another resident. When I spoke to that resident directly, they denied it as well. No one took responsibility. Now that I’ve moved out, I’m suddenly being told I owe $2,000, despite there being no security deposit and no mention of this charge in my lease, and I’ve been threatened with collections if it’s not paid within 30 days. Overall, this place is disorganized, inconsistent, and incredibly stressful to deal with. Between the unexplained charges, contradictory communication, and lack of accountability, this experience has completely turned me off from apartment living ever again. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere
