We recently stayed at the Fellows House Hilton in Cambridge for two nights. The hotel has secure parking, but at £24 per night plus 55p/kWh for EV charging (on top of already high room rates), it felt excessive—particularly given the actual cost of electricity.||Our duplex-style room was excellent, with an upstairs bedroom that allowed our baby to sleep undisturbed while we relaxed downstairs in the evenings. At around £230 per night, it was expensive, but the layout did add value.||However, the stay was let down by several details: bottled water was only provided on arrival and not replenished, the sauna and steam room were out of order, and no assistance was available with luggage when requested. Breakfast was a standard buffet with self-service coffee—adequate, but nothing beyond what you’d easily find elsewhere at a lower cost.||Overall, while the room itself was lovely, the hotel leans on its smart rooms and Hilton branding but the service and small cost-saving measures felt disappointing given the premium prices. For the price charged, it simply doesn’t deliver.
