The Best Portland Sports Bars for Watching Trail Blazers Games | Eater Portland

"A more upscale take on a classic sports bar, the Fields does away with the neon bar signs and team posters for large, window-lined walls and industrial chic vibes. The menu follows suit, offering upgraded takes on sports bar staples, both in quality and price, like wagyu beef sliders and mahi mahi tacos. It also offers an appreciable cocktail list, something not every sports bar in town can claim. Though the bar screens all the major and local games, it is Beaver territory, so Ducks beware." - Rebecca Roland

Staying at a hotel around the corner so I decided to try this place. While waiting for my food I ordered a beer. They have a good selection behind the bar and everyone helps out. I wanted the chicken strips but a bartender and a customer both suggested the patty melt. The blend of meats intriguing me so I got it. It was so good, I wish I had more time to check out their other burgers, but I needed to try these chicken strips. Next time in, I got the chicken strips, took them back to the hotel and I have to say they were excellent. Both meals came with fries and they are very good. Went in a third time in a week, wanting to try a different burger, but I ended up back with the chicken strips. They offer them with a choice of sauces, I went with the blue cheese dip. While all of the staff were very nice and helpful, I have to call out Brad and Remy. They were there every time I went in and they hustled. They are constantly moving, making contact with people, getting food and drinks, going out to the dining room to help, it was an awesome sight. It was always busy but they were nice to everyone and didn’t seem fazed by the pace. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by, if you’re not in the area, consider making the trip.

Stopped in for lunch while wandering around Portland and enjoyed the lunch. My partner and I both ordered the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese sandwich., mine with fries and his with tomato soup. The sandwiches were quite good, with a Parmesan Toasted Artisan bread which was full of flavor, Pepper Jack and Cheddar cheeses. Full of flavor and the fries are hot and crispy. We sat near the door and with customers walking in and out the eating area was constantly very cold. I suggest sitting away from the door during the winter months. Service was excellent.

Google
Great spot for food, sports, outside relaxing.. we stop in often when headed to the train. Sunday mornings the bartender Jewlz always has a great attitude and never leaves you waiting. Give it a shot! Pun intended

Google
I was out for walk, noticed The Fields Bar and Grill was open, and decided to stop in for a beer. I ended up trying the Level Bet Ombre, and an espresso martini — all delicious! Kayla was absolutely amazing — super kind, welcoming, and just genuinely had an incredible attitude. She made the whole experience fantastic from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Kayla was wonderful ❤️ best espresso martini. Thank you Kayla, you made our experience so amazing as visitors from Florida…

Google
We went to The Fields today for a late lunch- very happy with service. Kayla was adorable, brought great energy and was very attentive. She made sure that our drinks were perfect for us and we will definitely be back!

Google
The Fields is one of my go to spots with my friends. We love weekly trivia hosted by Alexis, and Remy always takes the best care of our group. Very early on, Remy made us feel special and like regulars. She knows your drink order and makes it to perfection, all with a warm smile. It’s so nice to have a spot where they make you feel welcome. Great neighborhood bar :)

Google
We have been loyal customers of The Fields since moving to the area over 4 years ago…the food is amazing and the quality is top notch!!! We have enjoyed getting to know the staff as well, particularly Remy, who greets us with warmth and genuine excitement to see us. Remy also makes sure to pay close attention to my order, as I am notoriously a very picky person. We truly appreciate having such a wonderful restaurant staffed with lovely people so close by!

Yelp
Lincoln went above and beyond. My friend came in like a hurricane needing help. She made us feel at home and calmed the situation down.

Yelp
My friends and I have been going to Fields Bar for a few years now and are always impressed with our experience. They offer delicious food for Brunch and Lunch/Dinner as well as have a wide selection of beers & cocktails to pair with the food. Their staff consistently provides excellent service, whether you're at the bar, at a table, or one of the private rooms/area. We recently had a group of 20 go to Fields for the Rose Bowl game. I called about a week in advance to inquire about reserving a few tables. Jim, the owner, was swift to hop on the phone with me and help me out. We were able to have the upper portion to ourselves, which included 4 high top tables and two standard level tables, perfect for our group's size. Kayla was our server who took care of all of us and she did an incredible job providing best in class service. Not only was she super responsive to our needs, but incredibly detail oriented with our large orders. At the end of our time at Fields, she broke out everyone's tab into separate checks, something that I had never seen before with that large of a group, and something that was extremely appreciated by all of us. Needless to say that our group will continue to come back and spend game days or other events at Fields for many years to come!

Yelp
Hello Neighborhood Bar! Went to Fields to grab a bite before the Trailblazers game and enjoyed their happy hour and the place. Just a cool bar with good food and enjoyable bartenders. Brad made strong drinks and funny conversation Try the "beer batter fries" their sidewinders and delicious!
google avatar

Corey C.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere & everyone is welcomed in by the bar staff with friendly smiles. The food is very tasty & overall decent priced. Always a great place to catch a game. Semi private group rooms available as well - typically reserved ahead of time(especially for big games)!

Yelp
Was visiting back Portland and a friend took us there - great dinner , good beer , and nice cocktails. Great ambiance for hanging out with friends and a nice safe neighborhood (in the downtown!) Service was great.

Yelp
This is a top of the line, clean, energetic, and friendly sports bar atmosphere that is fun so well and staffed incredibly. We hosted a birthday party here that will be hard, almost impossible to top. I had the best patty melt and the fries are better than chicfila (not kidding)! Thanks for a great night!

Yelp
A colleague and I wanted a quick late lunch and this was recommended by the valet at our nearby hotel. We were able to be seated immediately. We shared all that we ordered and it was more than enough. Everything was freshly made and delicious! The steak bites were cooked perfectly and ohhhhh that bleu cheese sauce was yummy. Their fries were unique but great!
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
Great Chicken Strips and Fries. Super fresh and hot. Their drink menu and tap list were decently sized. Lots of TV to watch games. Plenty of seatings. Staffs were very friendly and helpful!!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Great food and service. Fun place to watch games, lots different tvs around the bar. Specials happy hour were great

Yelp
Holy moly. Best burger I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered one for lunch a second day in a row bc it's so good... 10/10 highly recommend

Yelp
My husband could not stop raving about their blue cheese steak bites (a small plate item) and their nachos. As he said, "this is how nachos should be! Every chip covered with something!" I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and the French onion soup. The salad was pretty big, which is what I was craving for lunch! It hit the spot perfectly when paired with their French onion soup. One of the few places open downtown during lunch hours, and we would certainly go back! Our waitress was fun and knowledgeable with good recs, too! Our food also came out quickly, which was great for a quick stop in over lunch hour!

Yelp
This restaurant is a great place to hang-out. Food was good. Servers were very nice! We stayed for about two hours and had no issues.

Yelp
What can I say about this place that's not already been said. These guys are on automatic. Service is up to par with the best of them. I stay across the street and have frequented this place several times and service is always top notch. Thank you.

Yelp
Came here to watch a game and was impressed with the staff friendliness and attentiveness. Food was pretty tasty for a sports bar. Nice variety of games on and cozy atmosphere. Mimosas were on point! I will be back!

Yelp
Today I give this location a 1 star. I called to talk about making reservations for a birthday party and mid way when talking the person, he cut me off. When I asked if I could finish what I was going to say, he hung up on me and would never pick up the phone again. This happened around 12:30pm, Saturday Jan 20th. I am a regular customer and I will wait until the manager is in to speak to. IVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS HERE UNTIL TODAY.

Yelp
We live around the corner now a year, and we always drove by and saw the sign "Brunch is back" and said each time we drove by " we need to go". Now we finally mace it. It's a sport bar -peroid. But in any other city that period would end talking about good food. But Portland has this rule that ou only het a liquor license when you serve food. I do not know which genius came up with that idea but its is boosting the food scene. And every bar will have the best food. So at Fields you not get just some fried wings or chips, but really delicious small bites. We went there for brunch and breakfast and I got the Skilled which was potatoes, paprika, onion in a cast iron skillet (unfortunately not heated in that same pan) and then two perfectly prepped eggs, given me the chance to have a juicy egg yolk running over the content of the skillet. Making it a perfect yummy treasure. Hubby had the eggs and vegetarian sausage and was very happy. The portions are ok and pricing is fair - the service was outstanding, fast and friendly even when it was busy since there was a local game going on - but she did took her time to talk to us about some food stuff (how coriander taste like soap to us, based on a gene, lol). We will be back and regret not having gone earlier.

Yelp
Great place to watch sports and enjoy good food and drink. Service was especially great. Lisa is a fantastic bartender. If you are looking for a place to eat and drink, let this be your sign!

Yelp
Had such a great experience at The Fields and Remy was the best server!! Make sure you bring all your friends so you can use this room...10/10 highly recommend.

Yelp
I really enjoyed a College Alumni event at The Fields. The food and beverages were excellent, especially the fish tacos! The TV screens are great, so we booked a private lounge for a big rivalry Football game. The owner Jim is a genuinely gracious host and all the employees are friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Fields is a great place to go for a great burger and fries! On a a sunny day they have a cozy patio and if it's not so warm they have a cozy set up to keep you comfortable. Definitely a place to go if you wanna catch the big game or meet a group of buddies for a drink! Local owned and operated. Always a good experience.

Keala C.

Yelp
Have come here for years. Service is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Keep trying to come here. It's always terrible. Don't come here.
google avatar

Ada M.

Yelp
This is a great place to go if you want to watch a live sports game with a big group of die hard fans and loud shouters. The waitress I had was wonderful kind and sweet. Unfortunately the food here is just mediocre at best. My tacos were stale, overcooked, and flavorless. But if you want a place that can accommodate big groups, and plays love sports on TV, give this one a go, but don't expect great food. It gets very very loud on game days.

Robert M.

Yelp
Remember when it first opened. Great addition with beer, quality food, and a nice friendly ambiance. Had a chance to visit Portland and revisit the Fields. Still a great and superior pub in an area with many good options. Definitely worth considering.
google avatar

Yelp
I take burritos very seriously. So I don't say this lightly...but The Fields has one of the best burritos in Portland. I know. I'm shocked too, but it's true. Their Killer Burrito is just that...killer. The beauty is in the simplicity - meat, beans and rice. But the meat (I always get the pork) is seasoned and braised with some magical spices that make every bite a joy. The burrito isn't too big to manage and there's no drippage (which is key). Also the tortilla is perfectly golden. If I do happen to look up from my burrito, I see that The Fields is a great sports bar with TVs everywhere, top-tier taps, an uber-friendly staff, and a vibe that works for even non-sports fans. But normally I just stare down in awe at the burrito in front of me.

Yelp
Average joint, but probably the most convenient place to go for simple, not-horrible food at a reasonable price if you're in Pearl District. I ordered the steak with a side salad- no tomatoes, no croutons (because I am gluten-free). I got a skimpy slice of steak, and a salad with croutons and tomatoes. It was annoying having to spend most of my time sheepishly pushing the tomatoes and croutons to the side and having to avoid the leaves with crumbs on them. When I told my waitress, she said she wrote it down, so the kitchen must've ignored it. No offer of correcting the issue or a discount. Nice. $20 for 6oz of steak and a terrible, sad salad is not worth it imo, but when you're staying in a hotel nearby, ya gotta take what you can get. Right next door is a Mexican restaurant/bar Carlita's that has AMAZING food, so I would definitely recommend that over this (if it's not too busy). If you're a healthy eater who isn't filling up on beer, be prepared to leave this place hungry.

David S.

Yelp
Haven't been in years and is just as good as I remember. Decently priced food and beverage considering that it's in the pearl. Great spot for sports, drinks, and good food. My go to when I'm in need of a light snack is the pork taquitos. Homemade salsa and queso fresco make these freakin delicious.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have not actually gotten a chance to eat at The Fields. Normally I wouldn't write a review of a restaurant I have not eaten at, but after my last attempt I thought it warranted an honest report for others. I first came with a friend on the first Sunday of the season to watch some football. We got there right at 10am, and the place was packed. No seating anywhere except for a reserved table. Completely understandable for a place like this to be full at game time, so my friend and I made a point to come back earlier on a different Sunday. Cut to this past Sunday, when we showed up at 9:30am. Plenty of space. I asked the server which TV was going to be playing the Bills/Washington game. He seemed new, so he walked up to ask the older man (maybe owner?) with the remote. His answer: none of them. They were going to have 5 games playing, none of which were the game my friend and I wanted to watch. I asked again, surely they didn't mind putting an NFL game on at least one of 10+ TVs in the joint (not even during a Seattle game mind you). But no. Remote gatekeeper guy could not even be bothered to come explain the situation personally and just kept sending the server back and forth to deny my reasonable request without any good explanation. There will not be a third attempt. Beware if you want to watch a game that hasn't been deemed worthy by the all powerful remote holder.

Yelp
Been coming here since I moved to portland! Remi is the best server, always welcoming and great priced drinks
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Great fish tacos! Very loud and hard to have conversations inside. Parking can be difficult in area at peak times.
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
Darya is THE BEST!! We sat and waited for service late at night, understandably everyone was busy but amidst the hustle, Darya recognized we weren't being noticed and took our drink and food orders herself. She was incredibly kind and helpful giving the best recommendations and helping us with any questions we had. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the rest of the night. I most certainly will come back, the ambiance was great and definitely the food and service was fantastic!

Amy P.

Yelp
Jewlz is the friendliest and most attentive bartender, her skills in crafting delicious and creative cocktails, and her ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, not to mention her amazing laugh, make fields one of the best bars in the Pearl.

Karri P.

Yelp
Great lunch, exceptional service and love the cocktails! Family friendly and conveniently located near the Moda Center!

Tyler M.

Yelp
This is one of the best sports bars in Portland. Bartenders and vibes are fantastic. Jewlz is incredibly knowledgeable about different drinks and makes excellent recommendations based on my preferences. The way she interacts with customers really stood out to me and made me become a regular at this bar.
google avatar

Mecca F.

Yelp
Delivery via Grub Hub. Placed the order through yelp which was easy to navigate. App tracked my order up til delivery. Food was still warm when it arrived. Ready to eat the lemon pepper wings with Brussels. Delicious dishes. They forgot the dipping sauce and silverware.
google avatar

Christian O.

Yelp
So let me start with the positives. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice but sterile, it feels corporate although I don't think it is. The food is solid but definitely not a bang for your buck. I went to watch a Premier League game on USA network, not some random hard to find channel. The staff was unable to figure out the TVs and after wasting the whole first half dinking with them I eventually had to leave for a bar that has sports. Not a single TV was on any sports. So don't be fooled. This is just a generic pearl district bar, not a sports bar.

Gretchen B.

Yelp
After my recent trip here and review, the owner went above and beyond in caring about the less than positive experience I had and was appreciative of my feedback. His response was exceptional in how much he truly cares. Apologizing and wanting to make it better means everything. I was back in today and it was a totally different experience. Everyone was attended to and I saw the owner even go outside to some people who walked out thinking there was no spot and he drew them back in and found a spot for them. Thank you Jim. We're looking forward to many more great times here!
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Yet still nothing has been done. Owner wanted specifics and got them. I have not seen anything come in our direction since.
google avatar

Gene A.

Yelp
The Fields is an amazingly great sports bar. I started going there at the beginning of this recent football season and in the dozen or so times I've been there I've never had a bad experience. It can definitely get busy at times but I find that great because almost everyone I've interacted with is extremely friendly, which makes for a great game and bar experience. The food here is exceptional. They have great brunch menu on the weekends for the early morning games. This past week I ordered the omelette with seasoned potatoes and that made for a great start to the day. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. I normally get the same great bartenders serving me, Narra and Remy, who make amazing cocktails and have great drink recommendations. This definitely one of the best places around. Cheers!
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
Walked in at 10 minutes till 10pm after a 3.5 hour drive from Central Oregon. Place was not busy. Two servers looked directly at us as we walked in. Now sitting here for 20 minutes and a server just walked up.

Nicholas E.

Yelp
We just had such an amazing experience with the new employee, Chloe! She was attentive to both the bartenders needs and the customers during a busy Thursday night game So much fun and great energy!
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
My daughter and I loved The Fields Bar & Grill. While we were there they were hosting a trivia game and encouraged everyone to participate. The game created a fun and relaxing atmosphere that all the patrons seemed to enjoy. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a signature drink with chicken tenders, taquitos, and a Philly cheese steak sandwich with sidewinder fries. The bartender was friendly and made sure that we were well taken care of. Our food came out quick and everything was perfect. All of it was made fresh to order and served piping hot.

K K.

Yelp
Server Remi was amazingly attentive and friendly! Entire staff was helping each other out to provide top knotch service. I ate the Mahi fish tacos - gobbled up all 4 and they were delicious and fresh. The best sports bar in the city by far!
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
Love coming here. Great vibes and service! If you can try to get the lounge room, I highly recommend that! I have never had the food but their cider is hit or miss. Had the best cider ever the first time I came and the next time I can the cider tasted like water down fireball, which I was not a fan of
google avatar

Phil G.

Yelp
We were sent to the Fields Bar & Grill by the Spanish restaurant Can Font because our table wasn't ready. I am not a fan of sport's bars. They all look the same, victims of America's love for homogeny. The food is always a version of grub pub fare, some good, some rotten, rarely inventive or surprising. Yet, the people running The Fields Bar & Grill went out of their way to make us comfortable, serving strong drinks at a reasonable price. If I'm in Portland, unable to watch the Packers or Badgers on my own TV, The Fields Bar will be where I go.

Ibrahim K.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at the Fields! Their service was top-notch, and it's great to see such a vibrant spot in Portland. The abundance of TVs and fantastic happy hour deals made it even better. I couldn't get enough of the mouthwatering sliders, tacos, and the delicious tuna slider. Plus, the prices were just right. I'll definitely be returning!

Marleny T.

Yelp
Came in because the place always looks crowded , not sure why. Waited at least 10 min to have a waiter say hi to us, the wings were cold and my order was wrong , the drinks did not taste good , could have spent $60 in a better way. More help for the gentlemen that was working tonight cause he was the only good thing about restaurant.
google avatar

Adrienne M.

Yelp
This place was so cute! They have an awesome patio as well. It's super clean and a very nice atmosphere! I just wanted to get a quick bite and cocktail. I ordered the Taquitos and Tequila cooler! Not only was in so tasty it was so pretty also! What a great find! My food came so fast! It wasn't busy though so of course that helps! The bartender was awesome. No complaints here! Customer for life! Keep up the fabulous work here! I enjoyed every minute!

Yelp
Solid sports bar in the Pearl. During this time you can dine indoors or grad one of their outdoor tables. It's seat yourself as you enter and the staff will greet you quickly at your table. We grabbed a table outdoors and the the area was clean and not too close to other tables. They also had TVs facing from inside to the outdoor tables so you can partake in what's being shown as well. We didn't dine too much but we did order a side of their fries and they were great to pair with a pitcher of their traditional moscow mules. The fries were thick cut, seasoned well, and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Would get these again and easy to share with a group of 4!
